Visited the Golden Yolk on Saturday morning, and even though it was very busy, the wait was only about 20 minutes. I ordered the Good Ole Boy breakfast, and it was excellent. It came with a huge flaky biscuit topped with a generous scoop of sausage and bacon gravy. The scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly, the potatoes were seasoned really well, and the bacon was nice and crispy. My husband got the build-your-own omelet, and it was very well made with fresh ingredients. The atmosphere was lively and a little loud, but it fit the restaurant perfectly with its modern Southern vibe. Pricing was a little high, but nothing crazy in today's market. Will return! read more

Came to visit family for the weekend here in TN, and my dad and his wife took me here for breakfast after saying they had good experiences here. It did not disappoint! Ambience is simple, reminiscent of a typical brunch spot, with lots of natural light. We came around 9:30am on a Saturday and it was getting quite busy. The food came at a reasonable time, and everything was delicious. Omelette was perfectly cooked, and while the toast didn't come with butter, we asked for it and got it quickly. The customer service was wonderful. Our waitress checked in on us multiple times, and the manager personally greeted us as well. Overall a good experience here, and would come back the next time I'm here visiting family! read more

lately, i seem to get the same thing each time i come here even though i swear up and down i'll try something new next time. i LOVE this mediterranean chicken skillet! i always get it with egg whites and add hot sauce (they have cholula which just elevates this dish). the espresso martini was a bit strong, less espresso than i would have liked, but it was delicious as well. our waitress was wonderful with any substitutes i asked for and gave excellent service throughout the meal. it's always so clean in this restaurant and i always love coming here to get some good food. read more

I saw this cute establishment while waiting on a car repair. Inside was welcoming and I saw it was minority owned and got more excited. The service started out well, but when the gravy was an issues the owners basically was like take it or leave it. I went with my mom, and our salt threshold couldn't tolerate the saltiness if the food. The owner's attitude wasn't welcoming and I was shocked at her reaction. She scraped of the gravy and gave it back, but it was still salty. My food was delicious but I was disappointed. I would still recommend ppl try it. read more

A recent visit was no different and they shared about the amazing breakfast/brunch options here. All I knew was I needed something with sugar (they abstain). And, my appteitie was in full effect. My family and I were looking for a brunch spot before I left Tennessee. It has a great atmosphere and phenomenal staff! Our waitress was incredibly attentive. It was a little hard to hear everyone when talking, but we had a bigger group so that's totally understandable! My french toast was SO good and fluffy. I don't normally enjoy turkey sausage that much, but this was really good as well! I had my sister's home fries, which were alright, a little undercooked, but that's ok! Not bad, but it's a work in progress! I was so excited for my first visit at Golden Yolk. Our wait on a Saturday morning wasn't bad, maybe only 15 minutes. It was busy and the staff was handling it pretty well from what I could tell when we got seated! We order the Mayors Bacon and the Deep Fried Deviled Eggs as appetizers, and I got the Smashburger as my entree with "fancy fries". Our server was sweet but you could tell she was new and getting used to serving. Our food was taking a while and another server came over to let us know they'd be taking care of the cost of our appetizers. Our server came back and apologized again for the wait and claimed it was her fault. We appreciated the gesture to cover our appetizers, so we were still in good spirits. I could tell around us that there were other customers who had also been waiting for a while, too. It seemed like there may have been trouble getting the orders out in the kitchen. My Smashburger was good, but for the size of the patty, the bun could have been a bit smaller. The big bun left me feeling like, "where is the rest of the patty?". The fries were fine, but nothing about them was "fancy". Some of the fries were thin, some of them were thick, so some were undercooked and some were overcooked. If I were to visit again, I'd get something like French toast or pancakes. On a more positive note, the Deep Fried Deviled Eggs and the Mayors Bacon were SO delicious. You must try those. When our bill came around, our appetizers were listed at full price. I let a staff member know that one of the servers offered to compensate us for our appetizers due to the wait, and they quickly fixed it and gave us a new bill with the appetizers comped. Not a huge issue, but just a sign that the staff doesn't communicate with each other efficiently yet. Overall, I'd encourage others to give this place a shot. I'm confident that with the time, the staff and the kitchen will have things down and running smoothly in no time. read more

I arrived at 1:16 PM on 2025-07-27. The restaurant was pretty packed at that time, but it wasn't overly loud. I told the person at the front that I just need a table for 1, and she said the wait would be about 10 minutes. Thankfully though, I only had to wait 2 minutes and 12 seconds. The booth area I was seated it wasn't dirty or damaged, and it had a very classy look to it. I ordered the "Reese's Peanut Butter & Nutella French Toast", which comes with 2 eggs (I ordered sunny-side up) and sausage (I went with turkey sausage). The food took 17 minutes and 50 seconds to arrive. I note how long it took for transparency purposes only (I had a book with me to read, so I didn't mind the wait). After ordering, I did use the men's bathroom, which is a single bathroom (thankfully, it was vacant). Its not a very big bathroom, but I didn't feel claustrophobic in it, and was well kept. Here's my thoughts on each part of the meal: The eggs were cooked well and tasty The sausages (it came with 2) were not dry and didn't taste like frozen brand named sausages from a grocery story The French toast was great. Very peanut butter-y flavor (which is what I was wanting), and the strawberries were vibrant and sweet. It came with syrup on the side, but honestly, the French toasted was great even without the syrup (though I did put the syrup on after I tasted the toast as is). Overall, I was very satisfied with my meal and experience at the restaurant. Thanks to my server Kayla for being friendly, and thanks to Fisch (I hope I spelled your name right) for making a tasty meal. Now, I had mentioned to Kayla how I was interested in trying out the "American Dream Golden Pancake" meal at some future point, and after I had paid for the meal, a guy came to my table (I'm sorry, I didn't ask for your name) and not only inquired if I was satisfied with my meal but also offered me the "American Dream Golden Pancake" meal to take home for free. This was a highly unexpected goodwill offer which I took up. This meal also comes with 2 eggs (I chose scrambled) and sausage (I chose pork). Now, as with any meal you take to go, its not going to be as good as when you have it in the actual restaurant. Despite that however, I was able to reheat the meal good, and here's my thoughts on the items in the meal: The eggs were flavorful and not rubbery The sausage patty wasn't dry and was tasty The pancake was crispy (I toasted it in my oven), the strawberry and blueberry cremes were great. The strawberries and blueberries were sweet. Golden Yolk was a truly great spot to eat it, and if you're in the Cleveland, TN area, I'd highly recommend coming here. Update 2025-12-09: I came back to Golden Yolk for a lunch a little more than a week before my birthday. This time, my order was a Southwest Power Omelette with a side of Mixed Greens and Cinnamon Raisin Toast (I could've picked Sourdough or Wheat Berry). Everything was great, and since it was close to my birthday, I was given a free birthday biscuit topped with their Blueberry Dream Creme and whipped cream. I wouldn't recommend the speciality drinks like the lattes (they don't have an espresso machine) but all of the breakfast food was on point. The vibe is a low-key, easy going breakfast joint. Since you are ordering super thin, single ply napkins, please give us a stack when seated. When you serve "finger-licking good" food, and most of it hand held items, grilled cheese, hamburger, biscuits, etc. cheap single ply napkins only work when you have a bunch of them. I asked 4 times for a napkin, and each time I got one napkin. The 5th time I asked for 5 napkins, and got 5. Perhaps it's a mandatory thing for the wait staff to serve only one at a time? idk? So, maybe mention to the staff, if a customer orders hand held food item, give them a stack of napkins. Or if a customer repeatedly asks for a napkin, give them more than 1. read more
