It's not an Atlantan's beloved Al's gyro, but it's darn tasty! I'd eyeballed the menu on one of the many occasions I strolled past on a jaunt down Broad and spotted the gyro among their (many) hot sandwich options. Note to self to try, accomplished yesterday! Very simple, clean, friendly little space. Fairly large menu; a basic order-at-the-counter, pick-up-your-food-when-called kind of place. Sides are extra. They have sandwiches (hot and cold) and "plates" (chicken fingers and the like) and a kids menu. Great gyro. To me, unusual that the gyro was an almost sealed (due to the heat) pita, rather than more of a pita bread wrapped around all the goodness; it is actually quite effective this way, keeping 99% of the yummies inside. I went with the traditional (lamb and beef) gyro (they do offer a chicken as well) and with the tomatoes, onions and classic sauce, it was so good. Lots of meat. Lots of sauce - almost too much, but not quite, in a good way, if that makes sense! I ate almost all of it - if you have a really big appetite or really, really dig on gyros (I am thinking of Richard R the time he, Helena W and I went to Agora) then you might want one and a half, or at least eat all your fries or get a second side....the fries were ok - pretty basic, very hot and - this may sound like a "doh!" Homer Simpson kind of remark, but very . . . potato-y tasting . . . That was the main thing that stood out about them, seriously. But that sandwich - I will return for it, for sure. Hours are a bit odd/early closing as someone else mentioned, but for a downtown lunch/early dinner spot, this is a great choice.

Always solid food and service! The steak in a sack is an old time winner. Onion rings are huge and definitely shareable.

I ordered a gyro and fries, and the gyro was easily one of the better ones that I've had recently.

We tried a few beers from Five Wits and per her recommendation got the creamsicle shake as well. Solid beverage choices. The shake tasted part float part milkshake and it was absolutely delicious. Would order again. The food on the other hand was a bit eh. We ordered the Asian q burger and the mushroom melt burger and it took quite a while for them to come out and when they did they had unfortunately been left on the grill for way too long and were charred and crunchy. One set of our fries was cold and the bun to burger ratio was extremely off. Luckily, the staff agreed that our burgers were accidentally overcooked and they remade them no questions asked. The remade burgers were moist and better but still not fantastic. They were just burgers with minimal toppings on them. Not really seasoned and the flavor came from the toppings themselves. The buns were still too big for the burgers so there was a lot of extra bread and they have potential to be great but they were just average. Would have probably been a three star review but the staff and drink selection really earned the extra star. Would go back to drink and maybe snack but probably not order a burger.

Wonderful cocktail list with well balanced, well made cocktails. I loved my old fashioned and others enjoyed their drinks too. Very nice, attentive service from the servers although they brought out the oysters without telling us what was what and service was at times bumpy. The interior is nice, with it feeling casual but somewhere you could bring a date. And we enjoyed the lobster cakes which were well done, nice sauce, without overwhelming the sweetness of the lobster itself. So that was positive. Where it failed: the tuna bites on regular and not crispy rice was hard to eat. It was good but a little unruly. The halibut piccatta was VERY dry, almost bordering on inedible. Their special, which was a bento box was not great. The flavors didn't go together and their sushi eggroll had cream cheese which is very gross. Their steak frites was fine if not that memorable. All in all, I would come back for their drinks and their oysters but not sure I would come back for a full meal here.

Every one of the sides looks so good and fresh that I wanted to get each one of them just to try it! The fish was cooked perfectly and was nice and tender. The added little muffin I didn't expect was a nice touch and delicious. The collard greens were SO GOOD. I'd get them again. So flavorful and cooked well. The beets were fresh and the goat cheese carried so much flavor. For the desserts, we got the carrot cake with pecans and chocolate cheesecake. Both were soooo good. I would get both of them again, especially the carrot cake which was so warm and moist. And the candied pecans were such a nice complement to the cake - not too sweet at all. The ambience is super nice and fresh, and our server was so sweet and engaging. The hostess as well. Everybody there was so nice and welcoming. My husband ordered ahi tuna bowl and it was fresh, great veggies and ahi was great. I had the chicken po boy with confusion potatoes. The seasoning on potatoes was so excellent we bought a bottle of the seasoning. (And one is on every table for use in case you want more).
