Could use a turnaround at the top of the drive as well as there is no space to maneuver the sharp turn you need to take to get down into the camp area. I hate leaving such a great review because I want to keep this location secret !! Will be a regular here next year for sure

I love how the family was linked to the Seiberling family. (Basically they were in the railroad industry and transported their tires). The house is large, but not flashy nor extravagant. There is a number of things to see and explore ; from The Manor House( the former H.B. Stewart family home) to fishing at the 2-acre Shady Lane Pond, a stunning garden or mountain bike trails- this is a great park for all to enjoy! If you have children, there is a wonderful nature center with hands on activities, a large playground and live animals such as owls & hawks. You can also enjoy camping, plenty of hiking trails & even cross-country skiing during the colder months. My best friends had their wedding ceremony in the garden last summer...a lot of great options for pictures from a stone arch wall, the gazebo to the beautiful flowers themselves. The next day the same people were doing drugs in their car and everyone in their party was going in and out of the car. Kids all over who swear and have no adult supervision. It's extremely disgusting, annoying and just upsetting this place was like this. We were supposed to stay Sunday too but we left early bc it was so bad.

Bathroom facilities by the laundry area were locked. Washers in facility were dirty. NO Amenities as advertised. NO free wifi. We checked out after not being able to shower. Basically paid $88.50 for a night's stay (Electric hookup only). Asked to get half of my money back, for the night we did stay. Reimbursement for this was never made.

Anytime we asked a question none of the workers seemed to have an answer. the country store didn't have change so all day if you used cash they couldn't give you change back. way to make more money. when you check in they give you a menu well don't look forward to anything on it because once you go to order half the menu is crossed off as they don't have any. you can't talk to anyone at the front as they are closed after like 5 and no one at the store has a clue. people weren't as friendly as they are at other campgrounds I've been. sad because it could be a nice place.

Last season I was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. While I'm ok now our fellow seasonal campers rallied around us and provided us a ton of emotional support. We love it here. New ownership bought the campground last season and there are already a lot of improvements and more are coming but the best feature by far is the people. The staff and our fellow seasonal campers make our experience here very enjoyable. We will continue to come back as long as they'll have us.

The welcome center seemed brand new and was really well done, with a small museum, plus access to the campground and tons of cabins available to rent. The hiking here is incredible. We did the Hemlock Gorge Trail, and it was just the right level of challenge while still being super enjoyable. The scenery was beautiful the entire way. I also highly recommend checking out the Little and Big Lyons waterfalls. It made for a great loop trail and was definitely a highlight. The park itself is very well maintained. We visited right after some heavy winds, so there were quite a few downed trees, but maintenance was already out there actively clearing and fixing things, which was impressive to see. Overall, such a beautiful park and a trip full of unforgettable memories.

We had wag bags for a portable toilet. It was an unnecessarily rude and unprofessional way to speak to a guest. After that, another staff member directed him into a campsite that was extremely difficult to maneuver into. When he attempted to reposition the vehicle, no assistance was offered, and he ended up backing into a tree. The restroom situation was also disappointing. The portable toilets were unsanitary and appeared insufficient for the number of attendees. The final straw came the next morning when staff told him he had to take down his pop-up changing/privacy tent, claiming the health department would shut Nelson Ledges down if it remained. We reviewed the posted rules and could not find anything prohibiting changing tents or wag bags. Rather than explaining the concern respectfully, staff were dismissive and confrontational. After everything that had already happened, he packed up and left early. Before posting this review, I reached out to Nelson Ledges by both email and Facebook Messenger in hopes of discussing what happened. Unfortunately, I never received a response. I understand festivals can be hectic, and I don't expect perfection. I do expect guests to be treated with basic courtesy and for legitimate concerns to be acknowledged. Hopefully management takes customer feedback more seriously in the future and works to improve both staff interactions and the overall guest experience.
