Came for a birthday weekend, had a small issue with our site and the staff was very helpful and accommodating when figuring it out. Our kids had a blast watching the fish in the pond, riding the pedal bikes, the jump houses and jump pillows were well loved too. Swimming pools were a great cool down option after jumping. very poor kept, bathrooms out of toilet paper, told worker and it still wasn't filled til the next day. stalls broken. shower only runs hot, broken lamps in bathroom and that's just the women's bathroom. was told the men's is the same way. kids couldn't play on playground due to the strong smell of pot coming from nearby. not to mention worker selling pot to campers in front of the kids (I don't mind that but keep away from the kids). Anytime we asked a question none of the workers seemed to have an answer. the country store didn't have change so all day if you used cash they couldn't give you change back. way to make more money. when you check in they give you a menu well don't look forward to anything on it because once you go to order half the menu is crossed off as they don't have any. you can't talk to anyone at the front as they are closed after like 5 and no one at the store has a clue. people weren't as friendly as they are at other campgrounds I've been. sad because it could be a nice place. read more

We have been coming to Country Acres for 4 years. and it is a great place. there are lots of things for the kids to do. heated swimming pool , snack bar , activities , foam parties. staff is very friendly. , close to stores in town. prices are very reasonable. park is clean , they are making improvements all the time. would highly recommend this camp ground. read more

Called campground to confirm I could bring my golf cart before I pulled it all the way there. Was told I was allowed as long was it was street legal and had insurance. I then pull the golf cart all the way to the campground and I'm told by the girl at the counter that no golf carts are allowed. I told her the guy on the phone told me yes. She called him and he started he told me I had to bring the title, registration and insurance, which he did not. I asked to talk to him and was told "he doesn't talk to customers" I then asked for him to call me later and was told "oh, he won't call you". What kind of owner gives false information, lies about what he said and then doesn't speak to customers. Horrible customer service!!! To your response: you must have the wrong people. We don't have tents we have a camper. read more

We stayed here for 4 days and 3 nights, I will not be returning ever. List of things that were horribly wrong with this campground.. -The whole place smelled like rotting sewage, the public bathrooms had pee and poop all over the floor like the toilets had been backed up and they were like that the whole time we were there. -The playground was covered in caution tape, so it could not be used. -The billards room looks like if you even touch anything, the whole place is going to fall in. The ceiling was falling in, the pool table was a mess, there were broken darts for the dart board, the stereo did not work, the trash was over filled and was infested with bugs. -The owner is horribly rude, we had an issue with something and we tried talking to him about it and the answer we received was "yeah yeah" and walked off. -The swimming pool is a lot smaller than the pictures on their website, by probably more than half the size. -The lake is covered in green stuff, so fishing if very hard to do there. -We stayed with another group of people and we both had golfcart rentals which they had to double pay for because they messed up their reservation, they also lost their golfcart for a good chunk of the day because the tires were bad and it had brake issues and they never received any type of refund or anything for that. -Were yelled at for having children on laps on the golfcart (one being a baby) and was told they had to be seated. So we had to get out and walk, (even though there was a lot of golfcarts where there were people sitting on laps and not getting yelled at.) -The day we were leaving we tied one of our dogs up outside to return the golfcart (which the dog can't be in) and we already had the camper packed up. So we tied her up in a shady area at the site with water for not (5minutes,) the owner was at our site and yelling at my 10 year old daughter for leaving the dog out. 1- she is 10 and 2 - the dog is not allowed on the carts or allowed in the store and you have a strict 12pm return time for those. She was perfectly fine for those 5 minutes. There were a few other times that the experience was just not enjoyable and I am sure the owner will comment back and deny everything like he does in any post that has anything bad to say about him. Was a horrible experience and would avoid this campground at all costs. There are so many better campgrounds and for a cheaper price!! read more

Country Acres was a great place when owned by Anthony and Jeff. It was not perfect but a good camp. It was sold in 2024. The previous staff are trying to keep it up but they are short staffed and management and owners are "absent". The pool is not currently opened, the water park is a backed up muddy mess, the inflatible obstacles courses are filled with water and mud. The restrooms and shower smell like sewer and mold, the game rooms are falling in, the roads are a muddy mess. The tent camping area has one unclean portajohn for over 50 people. So people need to use the bushes. The reviews are honest that I have read for this year but the management states "people can see through this" or respond as though they did not even read the review. The park is not being taken care of and could be labeled a health hazard. Not to mention the thrash bins are overflowing. Hopefully the Horizon management and new owners will start caring and clean this place back up better than it was over the past 20 years. read more

Smokers paradise! I guess the rules only state no smoking indoors. We had several people smoking on both sides of us at the pool, so it was impossible to escape and not the environment I wanted.to be sitting in with 2 young kids. The facilities could use some updating but overall not bad. The kids enjoyed the available activities. Seasonal spots looked spacious and well maintained, most people seemed friendly. Lake looks nothing like the pictures posted here....is covered in algae. We were really excited about this place at first, but unfortunately, the excessive smoking is a deal breaker for us. read more

We just got back from staying here, where should I begin..1. The bathrooms smell horrible like a sewer backup but worse, totally unusable. 2. The bounce pad wasn't inflated so the kids couldn't use that. 3. There is caution tape on the playground equipment also unusable. 4. When the reservations were made we rented and paid for a extra large golf cart, on arrival we were told the receptionist made a mistake and booked a regular size one ( There were 7 of us so no way would a regular work). Instead of making it right the receptionist and the owner said more or less too bad and if we wanted the bigger one it would be an extra 60.00..because we boasted to the kids with us that we were getting a cart we paid the 60.00 even though we explained it wasn't our fault..then for 2 hrs we didn't even have it because it had a flat tire that had to be replaced. 5. Whenever we took the cart out we were threatened by the staff that they would take the cart from us because we were speeding..it's a golf cart for heavens sake how fast can they go..when we tried to explain that we weren't speeding we were told that 2 office people came and talked to us about it which was a TOTAL lie. In short do NOT come to this campground!! Read other reviews..we did but decided on giving them the benefit of the doubt..boy do I wish we would have followed the other reviewers recommendations to stay away!. read more

Been here several times, enjoyed previous stays. This time, not so much. If you leave to go do something outside of the campground, good luck getting back to your site/stuff. It takes forever to get "buzzed in". Not sure why it takes so long (well over 10 minutes several times). So far we probably have better than an hour waiting at the gate to get in in just a few days. Taking a little vacation sucks when you have to wait in line long enough at a campground that it repeatedly throws your schedule off daily. Next time we will probably go elsewhere. Never had to wait that LONG to get buzzed in to a campground. To much wasted time here... It was pretty clean, but noisy, tractor dragging rock around the whole place to fix the mud holes. (Due to the weather) they got all the "attractions" open pretty close to scheduled time. (Again weather slowed things down). Weather isn't why they can't open the gate in a timely manner. The cabin we stayed in had multiple roof leaks (left note on counter with issues and at office, they said they knew about the roof leaks). Had to move the mattresses in the loft so kids didn't get rained on, most of the outlets were inoperable... Save yourself some frustration, go somewhere else... *Update* Just read owners response. He NEVER spoke to me about anything this stay, (spoke with 2 ladies there) and note the passive aggressive responses he happened to add. Just another reason to go somewhere where the owner isn't full of made up excuses. There are nicer places than here with more honest owners... read more

The positive: The campground had a lot of stuff for the family and kids. They had one of those big bouncy pillows, 2 playgrounds and a pool for toddlers and bigger kids/ adults. The snack bar was good and the camp store was good. Also, there were a couple grocery stores close by. They also had a lot of events planned for kids. There was a juggler/ entertainer Saturday night that was awesome. It was really a great show and we enjoyed it a lot. We stayed at their Lakeside motor home. It was 2 bedroom and had a kitchen with full bath. The Motor home was nice and clean with air conditioning. I was impressed with it and it was pretty reasonable. The negative: the water! I don't know if it was because it was well water but it smelled like rotten eggs and was awful. I went for a jog one day and had to suffer through a quick shower but I was gagging because of the smell. Honestly, the place would have been awesome but this was huge for us. While washing dishes, my husband was gagging. Thank goodness we only stayed 2 nights because I wouldn't have been able to spend a week without showering. We would have had to check into a motel. All in all, I'm upset to have to give this 2 stars because everything else was amazing and done very well. The water unfortunately makes it so we wnt return. read more

I highly recommend AGAINST this campground for several reasons. First off, they overcharged us and it took me 3 people and 30-minutes to finally get it straightened out after repeatedly being told it was correct. Secondly, they charge a pretty standard $26-33 per night for a sight rental. After that it gets crazy...they then charge an additional $5/person beyond the first 2 people and then charge an additional $16 for any tent beyond the first one. So unless you are brining a very large tent, if you have more than 2 people, the cost climbs pretty quickly. Plus this does not make any sense as you are reserving a space (why they are dictating how much you can fit in your space is not normal). Obviously within reason, but we only had an 8-person tent and a 3-person tent for our 5 people we paid for, does not seem unreasonable. And finally, they have many amenities, but you will need a key to access them. I am guessing that you either have to pay again some additional money, or be one of their many users who are there for the entire summer. Which brings me to another item, if you have pets do not bring them, the locals are very particular about how you keep them with you and the management was very obvious that they were interested in the happiness of the usuals rather than us. In conclusion, we did not even stay one night here. It was such a terrible experience, that we decided to just leave. I will NEVER again come back to this campground and hope that you do not have to experience the unpleasant experience that me and my family had to endure. We love camping and this was our first bad experience. Feel free to try it if you dare, but let this be a warning to you. read more

This is a nice quiet little park. Not overly crowded. There is a pool, which we did not use, but lots of kids enjoying it. The bath facilities are clean. They have laundry facility. The park is gated. There is a large pond that u can fish in without a license. It is Catch and release and only thing we caught were perch. The only downside was that it was kinda swampy in some of the areas, but there has been alot of rain lately. It is a passport America park, so we got 5 nights at half price, 2 nites (weekend) was full price at $43. It's just a short distance to Newton Falls for groceries or fuel. Day trips to Cleveland and Lake Erie only 1 hour away. read more

Although my husband stayed here for 3 months and it was nice, quiet, and clean, we came back to try and reserve a stay together as a family and they wouldn't allow us to drive thru or check anything out. Very poor customer service. Will not be getting our business or anyone that works here for construction's business. The front desk lady's reason was because "it's so crazy today"! read more

Love this campground! So much for the kids to do. Amazing Views. Owners do so much for the children and really want everyone to enjoy and have a great time. The seasonal campers are friendly and love the weekend guests. Pool, jumping pillow, splash park, kiddie pool. Water wars area (with slingshots), massive obstacle course, volleyball, basketball, fishing, paddle boats, trolley rides, movie nights, themed weekends, bands, feed the ducks, bicycle or walk around the lake or relax by the fire. No matter what you like to do while camping, Country Acres has it all. read more

The owners were incredibly nice. However. I spent $340 on a tiny trailer in an over crowded camp grounds for a two night stay in the off season. And the toilet didn't flush. Very disappointing for the money spent. What wont be back. read more

Memorial Day weekend was here and we were excited to have reserved something at a campground for the family. Unfortunately, it was a disaster. Unsupervised kids everywhere (not the campgrounds fault) Teens cursing all over (not campgrounds fault) Loud, bad band performing on Saturday night...which attracted drunk hillbillies that kept stumbling out to their cars, turning on headlights that were blinding us at the camp fire.. The music from the band went on through the night--my nephew was in tears because he was so tired and couldn't sleep because the band was so loud. We had left the campground to go to the store a few times, and were not wearing the coveted 'wrist bands' that apparently were sent from the heavens and needed to be shown each time you entered the grounds. The employees at the front gate were EXTREMELY RUDE and unforgiving if you didn't happen to have the wrist band on. The peddle boats for the small lake were broke (all 3 of them) and when we tried to approach the lady at the front desk/gate...she threw up her hands and with an attitude shouted "WELL WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO ABOUT IT?!" As if she had seen us multiple times....that was our first interaction with her. Kids activities are supposed to be free of charge on a camp ground...they were not. The dog park was fantastic and lovely--about the only good thing at the grounds. Trailers had well water which stunk to high heaven. I left the park on one occasion and when returning I didn't have my wrist band, they wouldn't open the gate....worker came out of the front desk/store area and pointed to his wrist (rude) I explained that I had left and came back and he cut me off and restated the rules...so I picked up my phone to call someone at the camp site to let me in with a wrist band, he threw up his hands and said "Well, what are you going to do?!" I was SHOCKED at his attitude!!! I said "just give me a minute" and he chuckled, started to walk back inside the store/front desk area and said "youre not going anywhere!" His reaction was uncalled for, rude, unprofessional and inexcusable. We were provided with enough reasons not to come back, and bad word spreads faster and further than good word so I suggest that Country Acres makes a few necessary employee changes for the weak and inexperienced that work there before they lose valuable customers. read more

Terrible experience. They say they are a family campground, with many kids activities, yet they charge $5 extra per kid, per day. Everything is locked. All the time. When my son went to go to the pool at 7pm the gate was locked, but several families were in the pool, so he went to the snack bar to ask how you get in. He was told you get in around back but don't bother because we are about to close. Even though the posted hours on the website say the pool is open until 8:30pm. The campground is gated and the gate only opens when the office is open so don't leave the campground if you plan on returning after office hours unless you leave a $20 cash deposit for a key card. Which they aren't too keen on handing out. We were only told about the key card after asking how we get back in after hours and the owner suggested we park our car at the gate and walk in. When I asked if he was joking he then said or you can leave a cash deposit and get a card. They have over 200 sites but lock all the bathrooms but 1 (with 2 stalls in it) at 9pm and don't unlock them until 9/10am the next day. They seem to have some kind of sewer issues and the smell permeates the majority of the campground. The "seasonals" have to be some of the rudest people we have ever experienced at a campground in our 15+ years of camping all over the country. They really do not want weekenders there and make it very clear! We will never camp at Country Acres again and wouldn't recommend to anyone. Especially if you don't know any seasonal campers there and are just staying for a short time. read more

Very nasty place 2 stay..every year my family and i go camping we wanted to go somewhere different so we found country acers in ravenna ohio...on the website i purchase a lake front lake side house you would say. Well i call many times to ask if we could drive to come check it out they said if its dirty you can take a look in it if it's clean no.. we the day came 06-14-19 wasnt as i though it would be black mold growing...when it rain it was leaking inside our house i purchase.... i have a 5 month old my sister in law had 2 watch 4 the weekend the was very racist my daught girlfriend over heard 1 of the ppl that stays their say get off my property you N@#%÷ im sorry that was very uncalled 4...it smelt horrible i had 2 go 2 the store and buy bleach and candles. I took pictures i call my c.c company and make a dispute charge im not paying 4 something thats nasty..never again lots of health code violation you better believe who is calling the health department maybe even better business Bureau read more

I reserved a cabin (The Boat House) about 3 weeks prior to my travel dates. I feel that the accommodations were 100% misrepresented. I was told that the shower and bathroom for my cabin was literally 10 feet away and in reality it was around 100 feet at least away. There were no lights on the outside of my cabin to help navigate the obstacle course of tree roots and the absolute death trap of a block structure type thing directly behind my cabin. Honestly you could seriously kill yourself if you fell down this thing that is completely invisible at night. The ownership thinks that by signing this half ass waiver sheet upon check in that people can't sue them. Anyone with half a brain would know that they are still responsible for unsafe conditions. Also the WiFi I was told was available to me was not. I was unable able to log on with strength enough to use it even one time the entire weekend. My propane ran out in the middle of grilling I was told 45 minutes to an hour to get it filled. The water pressure is a joke. The water smells like a dirty butt hole. The seasonal campers are rude and the 5 dollar charge for guests is a little over the top but I feel it is not even in the top 3-5 things on the problems . I understand it's camping but for the amount I paid for a cabin it was worse than primitive camping I have done in the past. read more

This place is awesome! Stayed there in September 2017. The leaves were starting to change. Sunrises over the lake was surreal. My place was fabulous! The food at the snack bar was also great. The owners were preparing for Halloween and the place was so much fun. Anything I needed the owners were right there and very accommodating. The campground was clean and well kept. There was so much attention to detail and the campground was safe. So many things to do.. so much fun!! Highly recommend!! read more

Recently went to a small conference in Newton Falls and decided to rent a cabin at Country Acres Campground. I rented a deluxe cabin with a private bath and kitchenette. Because this was a business trip, I thought I'd try and make it feel like a camping trip and stay in the woods instead of a hotel. It was a great stay. Clean cabin, friendly front desk, and really nice grounds to walk around and feel like you're in the country. I met the owners, Anthony & Jeffrey and I could really tell they enjoy their home/business. Very impressed. I even happened to watch a TV program outside at their pavilion with a group of guests.
