My husband is working temporarily in Niles, OH and we are from Dayton, OH so we were looking for a place we could possibly bring out travel trailer so I could be close to him while he worked. Luckily for us we pulled up behind two vehicles that were talking and bumped into Diane. She and her husband Bob own the campgrounds. She gave us a tour, an activities guide and spoke to us like old friends. This is a place I would be proud to call home for a few months while my husband is working. This past weekend was perfect weather wise. Upper 70's with 60's at night. The only negative with that was it was almost too cold to swim. The water in the pool was freezing cold. We tried to stay in as long as we could but it was sharp. The big slide wasn't working properly so that was kind of a bummer. Great all around staff. You have a special thing with Ranger Dan. He's a great worker, great customer service and always driving around saying hello and checking in. Saw him numerous times and each time was always a friendly gesture and conversation. Kept us up to date with the activities, along with the piece of paper. Putt putt was a great clean course. Kind of challenging. Didn't use majority of the playground amenities but they have a ton and it's in a great big area. The ice cream stand had Hershey's ice cream and UNBELIEVABLE Root Beer. The pizza we tried was pretty good as well. The bathrooms were cleaned daily and nice. The only negatives I could give besides cold pool ( nothing to do about that ) is the water is Well water so it had the sulphur smell so brushing and showering had an odor. The activities were plentiful, always had a big calendar or events and theme weekends. The activities they had planned just seemed lackluster and rushed. Younger staff doing many of the skits, seemed half assed and rushed it not a ton of thought into the activity. We never really saw any of the Bears walking around but we would hear that they were out and about. We raised our family at Jellystone so this will always have a symbolic and nostalgic feel. We will still definitely always come back. Overall a good weekend. 8.0 out of 10

They literally would make things better by saying we need to bring clear bags so they can make sure we aren't bringing in glass or alcohol. I appreciate the rules but I'm an adult and I don't need some 16 year old ruining everything I packed. Secondly they got rid of the obstacle course in lieu of a diving board. The pool itself needs some repair. The way the bottom is, it makes the water look dirty. The water actually was full of bugs and leaves. The pool is small for 19.00 per person. It's a fine place to cool off but overall it has changed to only accommodate young children and older teens will more than likely not be impressed.

They even have weekend campers they have a spot for them and they have log cabins for people to sleep in and their is a dollar general down the road and a save a lot. Have a wonderful time camping.

Staff was hostile, dismissive, and unprofessional…read more At the gate, my husband's vehicle was checked, and he was asked, "Are you going to be shitting in those buckets?" We had wag bags for a portable toilet. It was an unnecessarily rude and unprofessional way to speak to a guest. After that, another staff member directed him into a campsite that was extremely difficult to maneuver into. When he attempted to reposition the vehicle, no assistance was offered, and he ended up backing into a tree. The restroom situation was also disappointing. The portable toilets were unsanitary and appeared insufficient for the number of attendees. The final straw came the next morning when staff told him he had to take down his pop-up changing/privacy tent, claiming the health department would shut Nelson Ledges down if it remained. We reviewed the posted rules and could not find anything prohibiting changing tents or wag bags. Rather than explaining the concern respectfully, staff were dismissive and confrontational. After everything that had already happened, he packed up and left early. Before posting this review, I reached out to Nelson Ledges by both email and Facebook Messenger in hopes of discussing what happened. Unfortunately, I never received a response. I understand festivals can be hectic, and I don't expect perfection. I do expect guests to be treated with basic courtesy and for legitimate concerns to be acknowledged. Hopefully management takes customer feedback more seriously in the future and works to improve both staff interactions and the overall guest experience.

But on Mother's Day we got to see a lot of the rooms we never saw. And got to ask more questions and take our time a bit more. All around good experience. You want to see as many of the rooms as possible. Pro tip. If you are doing a house and garden tour leave the house thru the front door. This way you don't have to back track the gardens. Out the front door take a right to head along the back of the house and the gardens. Don't miss the greenhouse. The Japanese garden and the really all the gardens are beautiful. It's a nice walk. You can definitely get your steps in. It's a nice afternoon. We spent about 2.5 hours. Could have spent longer. But we were hungry. This was a good experience overall and fun afternoon.

Several years ago I found out that they have special tours at Christmas time where you can tour the house and each room has a different theme and you can also tour the grounds where they have Christmas light displays. I believe the tickets this past Christmas or $28 each which goes towards keeping up the estate and grounds. I feel like that's a fair price. There is so much to see in the estate and out on the grounds and I suggest coming here during the year as well for a regular tour. The Christmas decor is so beautiful each room in the estate is typically sponsored by a local business. It's so interesting to see some of the old furniture, dishes, light fixtures, truly whatever you can think of it's all so beautiful. They even have a greenhouse on the property where you can go to purchase plants, especially poinsettias for the Christmas season. They have a little concession stand where they sell things like hot chocolate, coffee, wine and beer, cookies, chili, soft pretzels, etc. Santa even stops by during certain hours where you can visit him. Overall, this is one of my favorite places to visit during the Christmas season and as a child I loved coming here during the year.

The first day we came in we got our camper parked and set up about 2 hours later he comes by yelling that we have to move our vehicle . It was on our site so I didn't understand that I asked where to move too and he said not there.... I then said ok ? We are not allowed to park on the site we paid for... so I moved it to another spot up front. Then we noticed our picnic table was destroyed . Tons of nails sticking out of it rusty nails on the top, the whole front board was literally shredded being we couldn't even use the table without getting stabbed by nails or big pieces of wood . On Saturday we stayed for the kids to go trick or treating . We were getting things packed up around 445/450 all the kids were done trick or treating so we starting getting things ready and out of the way so we started hooking up to move back a little being we weren't going to be leaving for a couple more hours , employee Brian started screaming from about 100 ft away( in front of the playground with kids and my children ) saying " I don't give a f*** what you are doing get off my f******road " as we were hooked up and moving backwards, very unprofessional and unacceptable he then walked up to me face to face with my 4 year old standing by my side crying ... he then again yells and says "he's going to call the police on me because we hooked up a camper to a truck to back it up out of the way . With all that this camp has went down in the past two years a lot of the long time seasonal packed up and are heading to a different camps or the management is just running them out in general . because of all these things and more , We will no be back !
