I've been taking my dogs and cats to Countryside for over 8 years, believing they were a trusted, caring veterinary office. Until recently, I had only needed routine care--everything seemed fine. But when I had an emergency with my 5-month-old puppy, I learned the hard way where their priorities truly lie. Before this, my puppy had been diagnosed with entropion (a condition where her eyelids turn inward), and Countryside had scheduled her corrective surgery for April 23rd, when she turned 6 months old. But on April 8th, she developed a painful eye ulcer. Countryside got me in right away, diagnosed the ulcer, prescribed medication, and referred me to a specialist to determine if the ulcer required surgery. That visit cost me $200. That same day, I drove over an hour to a specialist in Cleveland. Using advanced equipment, the specialist examined her eye and determined the ulcer was caused by an eyelash rubbing against it due to her entropion. They confirmed that the entropion surgery was needed, but the eye itself didn't require surgery. Removing the eyelashes causing the irritation was the solution to help her eye heal properly. That visit cost another $300. The specialist quoted me $4,000 for the surgery, while Countryside had quoted me $1,500 for the same procedure--a huge difference. Since I couldn't afford the specialist's price, I called Countryside to ask if we could move up the surgery date due to my puppy's worsening condition. The surgery was already scheduled with them, and their price was something I could afford. I called daily, waiting for them to get back to me as they promised, saying they would let the doctor know and follow up with me. After several days I was finally told--without explanation--that they were canceling the surgery and advised me to go to the specialist. They refunded my deposit and canceled my appointment. I sought out another local animal hospital, and the soonest they could see her was April 23rd--the same date Countryside originally scheduled. I had a consult there, they confirmed they could do the surgery, gave me an estimate (less than $1,000), and scheduled her for May 8th, with a spot on their cancellation list. After spending $750 across three different clinics, I finally had a plan. All three clinics agree on the same thing: surgery is needed to stop the eye irritation so it can heal. The difference is in cost--and who was actually willing to help. To make matters worse, her condition worsened again on May 1st. The corner of her eye became red, bloody, and began discharging. Her compounded medication (which Countryside had made twice before) was running out on May 3rd. When I called to ask if they could make more, I was told no because I had transferred her records to the new clinic just two days earlier. They said, "Our hands are tied" and claimed they'd "done everything they could." But that's not true. They could've moved up the surgery. They could've refilled her medication. But they chose not to. Medications provide temporary relief, but they don't fix the root cause--the entropion. Surgery is the only long-term solution, and Countryside left me scrambling to find help elsewhere. I'm heartbroken and angry. My puppy has been suffering since April 8th. I've done everything I can and made it clear that I couldn't afford the specialist's price. Yet Countryside kept pushing me in that direction and then refused to help further. When I expressed my frustration, they accused me of being rude and disrespectful. But how would you feel if a vet you trusted for nearly a decade suddenly refused to help your injured puppy without any clear explanation? As a local business owner myself, I would never treat my customers like this. I used to recommend Countryside to everyone, but not anymore. The true test of care isn't how you treat routine visits--it's how you show up when it matters most. And they didn't. read more

I spent over $500 here in 2 weeks and my cat is still sick and they tried to say there was incompatibility when it's purely rude and incompetent care. Lazy Front Staff, No customer service, you have to keep checking with them to remind them of your appointment while in the waiting area. You have to Double check your appointment so they don't put it in the wrong month or schedule the wrong Procedure and pay close attention to prescriptions. Your going to wait past your scheduled time and it's a hassle every time. Been coming here 4 years. Vet is good Staff is Terrible!! Can't do it anymore. The incompetence is overwhelming. read more

My family has went here since before they moved to the current location. The staff has always been knowledgeable, kind and caring. They tell you what's best for your pets health and advise you of treatment options. NOTE: Under Ohio Law certain counties are required to give the rabies vaccine, Trumbull is one of those. Do yourself a favor and get educated on a topic after reading reviews. I checked the Trumbull County health departments website after I read the negative review and found rabies vaccinations have been required since 1997. This miss information really discredits their entire review in my opinion. read more

I have a 150 pound German Shepherd that can be a handful. I've always taken phenomenal care of him, and treat him like an integral part of our family; like most pet owners do. A couple years ago, my in home dog sitter wasn't available so I took a chance on all creatures. It was a phenomenal experience from his first stay. They take such good care of him! Even little quirks, that a pet owner would only know- without me telling them- they figure things out and comment on it to me when I pick him up. I can tell they really care for him the way I would. He's stayed there for our trips to the Caribbean, extended ski trips, etc, and he was always well taken care of. I can tell he recognizes staff and responds to them in a positive way. Prices are reasonable too. For my best friend, I wouldn't look anywhere else! read more

UPDATE on Cheyenne. I called one of the owners, Dr. Clayton, whom I have dealt with many times in the past. I wanted to know why this egregious mistake happened and what he, as a business owner, was going to do about it. Well the short answer is NOTHING! The person that made this horrible mistake, MAY, he said, get reprimanded. Seriously!?!?!? NOBODY will be made to take responsibility for their actions at all. This person needs to be FIRED! How could a person working is a vet's office still have their job after taking my dog away from me forever???? Why on earth would this person think I would even want my dog buried in a place that is over 75 miles away?? Plus the fact that, Kelly, the office manager, would not even admit to me that they are the ones that made this sickening mistake to begin with. If I were this person I would have been on the phone with me apologizing with compassion and empathy, for doing this! I have taken my two dogs here for years. Unfortunately my husband has been out of work for the last two months and we needed to save up to get their annuals done . Today my younger dog was found to have a broken tooth that needed surgically extracted. I was given an estimate of 650 dollars to extract one tooth. Added into that bill was several unnecessary tests and procedures, making this needed surgery unaffordable, especially after just paying 500 dollars for exams and vaccines. What I found most deplorable and unethical was their insistence that my dog HAD to have a tooth cleaning during the surgery which was 225 dollars of the charges. During the exam, never was it mentioned that she should have her teeth cleaned, nor was it under her recommendations on her exam paperwork. My dog's teeth aren't even bad! For "caring" professionals to refuse to do a medically necessary procedure because I cannot afford a medically unnecessary portion of the bill is just WRONG. So the upsell is more important than my dog's pain. read more

I visited this vet to treat a very sick cat. Upon leaving I paid with a credit card that I had NEVER used before. Starting the very next day there were unauthorized charges on my card. It was very obvious As I do not live in the area and all the charges were within 5 miles of the clinic. Thank goodness my credit card company was able to also trace the compromise of my card back to this clinic. This is soooo sad to see you cannot even trust the vet!!!!!! We have been a customer here for over 10 yrs. We will be finding a new holistic vet now! Just had are dog in all creatures clinic because. I have 2 70lb dogs who were running in the back yard and collided realy hard and he hurt his hip and we seen Dr. H.N Evens D.V.M. upon arrival they were more warred about his vaccinations than anything. She gave him a quick exam of his back hip and prescribed pain meds. Typical DR.! No ex rays or anything to see if there is any internal damage! Then she went on and LIED straight to are face and said it is a law to give our dog rabies vaccines! No it is not law as there is scientific proof we over vaccinating are animals and vets refuse to admit it because of MONEY and ignorance!!! IF U REALLY LOVE YOUR PETS WE NEED TO STAND TOGETHER AND STOP THIS CORRUPTION!! Don't go here! read more
