I requested that my tank be filled by checking the appropriate box on the form, then I received an email stating that I had requested my tank to be filled. Today, the deliveryman arrives but only partially fills my tank. When I called Lakes, Michelle was terribly unhelpful, as she is every time I have spoken with her. And, in the end, my tank is not filled despite my request to have it filled. There are a handful of other propane providers in the area. Choose them over Lakes Gas.

On June 9, she told me she would not draft anything and that I would have to sign a blank lease form on install day -- with terms that didn't match what we discussed (e.g., sample lease showed a 330-gallon tank, not the 500-gallon we agreed on). When I asked for basic written confirmation before the crew arrived, she told me to go elsewhere if I wasn't comfortable. I'm sharing this so others know to get everything in writing before trusting this company with a multi-year contract.

Other propane suppliers were closing and Milton of Sturgeon Bay was the only one who said they would be at my house the next morning. While working, they discovered gas leaks and ancient equipment that was unsafe. In my defense as a new owner, this was my first winter in the house. I was grateful that they were paying attention to more than just filling the tank in cold temps and that they brought my system up to a safe standard. Their customer service mannerisms were courteous and of good humor. They are long term employees which indicates that management treats them well.
