What a great lunch. You can't beat a hotdog with the works! Actually you can get 1 free! I haven't been in years but it's still great.

When I walked in, I stood in the waiting area for about 10 minutes waiting to be seated. The restaurant was not busy, and there were two servers sitting at the bar chatting with the bartender who clearly saw me but did not acknowledge or greet me. A simple "Hi, we'll be right with you" would have gone a long way. Eventually, the bartender (a tall young man) approached me without greeting me and started walking upstairs. He then turned around and said, "I forgot a menu," as if it was an afterthought. When we got upstairs, he placed (more like tossed) the menu on a table that still had a dirty cup on it that looked like someone had just been drinking from it. Instead of addressing that, he immediately walked over to another table to check on two guests who were already dining. After finishing with them, he walked right past me without asking if I'd like to start with a drink or acknowledging that I was even seated. There was absolutely no hospitality it felt more like hostility and indifference. The ambiance is aesthetically pleasing, but unfortunately that's where the positives end. The food is mediocre at best and definitely not worth overlooking such poor service. Customer service makes or breaks a dining experience, and today it completely broke it for me. I won't be returning and would recommend trying one of the many other restaurants in the area instead.

Apparently, the place just changed hands in the past month or two. Inside it looks about the same although the menu has changed somewhat. I can't determine what was added or deleted, but it just strikes me as a different menu. I got two dogs all the way without onion in order of fries and a coffee milk The fries came out and my shoestring, which are not exactly my favorite type of fry, but they were fried well. Apparently, if you ask for fat french fries you'll get the thicker cut ones which I will remember for next time. The hot dogs were well cooked and sauced. The buns seemed fresh. Service was friendly and prompt. The inside was largely the same as I remembered it. I sat at the counter and could view the galley kitchen, which seemed to be very clean. Prices weren't bad. I will likely return.

Well Basil & Bunny is an amazing suprise for lunch today as they hit the mark!!! Shared parking lot with ample parking. There is both inside and outside seating options here. From bar seating, to tables for two or four (can pull some together for larger party) plenty of arrangements for your party size. Inside has light music that does not interfere with conversation and even when packed still a quiet feel. Staff is very friendly and passionate about their plant based creations. Rotating monthly special dishes/bowls to enjoy. Plenty of sweet treat options to give a try as well. I grab a sunshine bowl with impossible crumble (seasoned tofu also an option) and came with plenty of flavor with its mix of seasoned veggies, brown rice, tortilla and lime herb dressing. I wanted to lick my plate clean!!! So if you are in Bristol and looking for a little bit of plant based greatness...Basil & Bunny has you covered!

They had cookies and tarts that looked incredible (definitely going back to try those ), but we went for the classic vegan hot dog and it was so satisfying. After trying them at the fest, we're definitely planning a visit to their restaurant to explore more of the menu. Highly recommend if you're in Rhode Island and looking for creative, delicious plant-based food. After selecting from the reasonably diverse beer menu, I ordered pesto calamari and others ordered street corn Brussels sprouts and a K-pop chicken sandwich. The sandwich was a big bun with a huge piece of fried chicken, gochu bang bang sauce, and a ginger sesame slaw. Not my sandwich, but I did sample a chunk of the chicken, which was beautifully seasoned and not over cooked. The Brussels sprouts were well seasoned and decorated with corn, avocado, queso, and a little too much quinoa for my taste. My pesto calamari was delicious. The calamari was cooked well and it was a great change from the tomato based dips that typically accompany calamari. The aioli worked very well with the addition of capers and a squeeze of lemon. Our friends had not been there previously, but it's definitely on their rotation now.

The patties are perfectly cooked, the flavor is on point, and the challah buns are seriously next level, they hold everything together without getting soggy or falling apart, even with a juicy burger. I also tried the Hot Honey Alabama Chicken Sandwich (that's the one I believe it's called), and it was delicious. Great balance of sweet heat and crunch, and just like the burgers, it holds together really well without falling apart. They've also got a bunch of creative flavor combos if you want to branch out, but I keep coming back to the classics. Service is usually solid when I dine in, and takeout is just as good. Highly recommend Chomp if you're in the area.
