The fluffy chix sandwich, buffalo chix sandwich and the potato nachos!! It was all delicious!

Update on a past review. I haven't been back in a while. I met a friend for lunch yesterday. The menu had some added items. We tried the cozy cottage and crab Rangoon burger. Both were delicious! Very generous portions. Service was excellent! Josie helped us with the menu and drinks. The cherry , ginger ale I definitely recommend. The place is as cute as ever. Great lil spot for a quick lunch. Highly recommend.

Basil & Bunny was a stop on the inaugural Triple Play: Best Donuts, Best Cookies, & Best Cupcakes by RI FOOD FIGHTS journey. The Triple Play runs from April 1st thru April 30th. The coupon at Basil & Bunny was for 1 chocolate chip cookie. The chocolate chip cookie was sooooo good. The cookie was ultra soft and chewy and its edges were slightly crisp. I would definitely come back and get the chocolate chip cookie. I voted Basil & Bunny for the best cookie. Since it was near lunchtime, I also ordered one of the specials, the Frickle Burger, small bunny fries, and a slice of the lemon lavender cake. The frickle burger was absolutely delicious - the seasoned impossible patty, cheese, hand battered fried pickles, lettuce, tomato, spicy ranch on a toasted brioche - worked so well together. The bunny fries came out piping hot and were fried for perfection. I ordered a small, but it was definitely a good amount of fries. I dipped the fries in a sweet and tangy BBQ sauce. The lemon lavender cake had good flavor, but it was a little dry. I am not vegan, but all the food flavors were spot on and I will definitely be back. Basil & Bunny is located in Bristol's Unity Park complex alongside many other businesses. There are a lot of parking spaces in the complex and street parking. I walked in and the space was very open and inviting. Lyslie Smith, owner and founder of Basil & Bunny, was in the kitchen and popped her head out to welcome me to the restaurant. There are plenty of seating tables inside and outside. The staff member who took my order was very friendly. In a few minutes, my order was ready and as I was leaving, Lyslie said bye and best wishes to enjoy the meal. Customer service was amazing.

Basil and bunny never disappoints. Evwrytime I don't get the Buff Bunny, I wish I did. That's exactly what I got this time- no regrets. Basil and Bunny makes the best seitan sandwiches around, no exceptions. They transform vital wheat gluten into a firm, meaty piece of "chicken" that they season perfectly and fry up for one really solid sandwich. This time the seitan patty seemed a little softer texture wise than it has in the past and it was less crisp, but it was still really good. I'm sure it just varies batch to batch and this is the first time out of the dozen or so sandwiches I've had that seemed a little different- still very good and maybe even a more preferable version to some people. Staff is always friendly and if you eat in, you get to enjoy their calming, clean and "nature filled" dining area. They have plants and lots of light coming in everywhere, highly recommend.

Fantabulous! My made up word which perfectly describes this superb vegan experience within the heart of Bristol, RI. Superior customer service today (which seems to be the norm), hand crafted plant based foods and always fresh.

This place is LOVELY!! My boys and I tried the wings, homemade burger, fries and whoopie pie and were impressed. Plant based burgers are often mushy- but this was a double patty, and stayed firm (even for 8yo hands). The ambiance is whimsical and bright, and modern. We can't wait to return!

The food was delicious and they also had an assortment of cookies , cakes and cupcakes. Had to get a bunch to try. All delicious. Me and my boyfriend had the Philly steaks which were so tasty and filling. We had some fries and Mac and cheese. Will definitely come back even though it was a 50 min drive. Decent prices and nice atmosphere. You order and they deliver to table.

Man do I love me some bomb vegan food!!! This place never fails to make me feel absolutely FULL and content with their delicious meals. I absolutely recommend getting the Nacho Fries--they are truly a wonderful delight and just jam packed with flavor. The burgers are great--so great that you forget it's not even meat! Portions are literally great for the price and you gotta get the bunny sauce on the side!! From the staff to the food to the cute decor, go get yourself some Basil & Bunny today!

What a delight it is to visit Basil & Bunny! I've been to their storefront a few times and they never disappoint. The atmosphere is totally stunning. It's light, bright, airy, and so perfectly decorated. The girl who took my order was also super friendly and welcoming and it added to the already enjoyable experience. I was with my husband this trip and we both ordered the Buff Bunny sandwich. This dish was a knockout! It was piled high with a huge piece of "chicky" seitan that was doused in buffalo sauce, topped with a crunchy slaw, crisp lettuce, and a juicy tomato slice, all held together on a soft brioche bun. These flavors and textures work so well together and make for a really delicious and cohesive sandwich. The seitan is prepared uniquely from other vegan restaurants I've been to because it's formed into a thick patty that is very reminiscent of a meat protein. A small side of dressed greens is also included, which is appreciated, and the house made "hunny" mustard is so tasty! We also split a chocolate chip cookie, which I thought was good too. It did have a different taste to it, which is to be expected from a vegan cookie, but I still liked it. My husband did not care for the cookie, so I ate his half, but we both agreed that the texture was excellent. It had crunchy edges and a soft middle - perfection. Neither my husband nor I are vegan, but we both love the food at Basil & Bunny. I would highly recommend checking out this restaurant regardless of your dietary needs as it will please everyone in the party. Though the drive is far for me, I will definitely be back and am looking forward to my next visit!

My boyfriend and I had a really great time at this place. The food was delicious and the ambience is a hipster-type vibe. There was a festival going on at the time and it was great because there are a bunch of different places in the same plaza. We ended up eating food here and then heading over to listen to music and have some cocktails at one of the other places in the area.

Avocado and Hunny Chicky Salads

Basil & Bunny is a super cute cafe with mouthwatering burgers, bowls, and salads in a very charming coastal town, Bristol, RI. We ordered the Hunny Crispy Chicky and Avocado Greens salads. Both super flavorful and delicious! I absolutely loved the Crispy Chicky Seitan strips! So crispy and the seitan was light and moist! The Hunny dressing IS MY NEW OBSESSION... soo good, I recommend ordering extra.  Paired with our salad, we enjoyed local kombuchas from Fieldstone Kombucha Co Next time we can't wait to try the burgers and sweet treats from foglia's pastry chef Piper. Also in the same plaza is Pivitol Brewing company. And near Colt State Park is 6 pack brewing. We loved that both breweries are pup friendly indoors and vegan friendly with exception to a couple with lactose.

Funfetti cake (ended up choosing a Biscoff cake)

Had the opportunity this afternoon to visit Basil & Bunny for lunch with my sister who is local. OMG - yum! Ordered the Bunny Mak burger (mushroom and bean patty) which was incredible. The sauce, the bun and the flavors all were on point. We also ordered the Korean Grain bowl with Gochuchang tofu and local kimchi. I will dream about this flavor combination for months to come.... Sipped on a Blue Mermaid lemonade which was another tasty treat. Finished it off with a slice of Biscoff Cake- heaven! My only disappointment is that I live in the Mountain West and won't be back often enough. 10/10 recommend this awesome eatery.

I went to Basil & Bunny yesterday for dinner. It was my birthday, so it was a treat. The food was delicious as always, the ambiance was so relaxing and fun. The service was outstanding! My friend and I ate outside, and towards the end of the meal, they brought out a cookie as a complimentary surprise for my birthday! That was so kind of them, and I'm much appreciated!

I went with the ahi tuna platter, which was set up almost like a charcuterie board, and it was excellent. Also grabbed a clam chowder, because... New England, and it did not disappoint. Caught the fourth quarter of the game, and the place had a great vibe. Crowd was lively, staff was friendly, and everything was clean and comfortable. The drink menu was not very extensive. Our Asian salad cups appetizer tasted exactly like an Asian salad mix I've bought at the grocery store and looked like it too - I'm convinced that's exactly how they prepared this. My veggie burger had burnt edges and wasn't too enjoyable flavor-wise. It didn't help my overall impression that when I got takeout here another time, they totally butchered my boyfriend's name when we ordered over the phone, and we had a hard time picking up our order because of this (how you get "Stephanie" from "Anthony," I just really don't know). I think this place just gets lucky having a good location across from Independence Park and being close to but just out of the way from downtown. Can't say I was impressed by the food - there are too many other good options in Bristol, I just can't say I'd recommend this to others. Perhaps it's improved since I visited, but it's a pass for me based on experiences I've had.

At first I really liked this place and probably would've left a five stars-- before I explain more,…read moreI do still think it's worth popping by for a casual bite. The burger I ordered (bacon cheeseburger with no bacon) was delicious. No complaints there and I will probably reorder. The only problem here was that I asked for sweet potato fries instead of regular fries, to which the waiter simply said okay. Turns out it was an undisclosed upcharge. Not only did he not tell me it would be $2.75 (or something like that) more, but the fries are listed as the same price online. When I told him that, he said that their online menu is really old (this is to say, don't look at it! and also, not sure why they wouldn't update it if they know it's incorrect). Sure enough, the printed menu also said nothing about an upcharge for a different fry, so ultimately I was able to remove the charge, but it was a little awkward and frustrating. My only other complaint is not particularly the fault of the restaurant, but I suppose just a side effect of the laidback vibes. A group of 7 or 8 people came in like 20 minutes after us and was so loud that I almost suggested we leave. My guess is they were drunk, but it was a Wednesday night around 6:00, so I wouldn't have expected that. They were so loud that I was yelling to my friend who was within arm's length. Totally changed the vibe and enjoyment for me.

The biggest surprise this time was a brand new food menu. Much improved and has more contemporary take on the bar food. Gotta try other items on the emenu The service was great. Usually is. Maybe extra attentive because it was a Monday night. Anyways, its a good time nevertheless.

When I walked in, I stood in the waiting area for about 10 minutes waiting to be seated. The restaurant was not busy, and there were two servers sitting at the bar chatting with the bartender who clearly saw me but did not acknowledge or greet me. A simple "Hi, we'll be right with you" would have gone a long way. Eventually, the bartender (a tall young man) approached me without greeting me and started walking upstairs. He then turned around and said, "I forgot a menu," as if it was an afterthought. When we got upstairs, he placed (more like tossed) the menu on a table that still had a dirty cup on it that looked like someone had just been drinking from it. Instead of addressing that, he immediately walked over to another table to check on two guests who were already dining. After finishing with them, he walked right past me without asking if I'd like to start with a drink or acknowledging that I was even seated. There was absolutely no hospitality it felt more like hostility and indifference. The ambiance is aesthetically pleasing, but unfortunately that's where the positives end. The food is mediocre at best and definitely not worth overlooking such poor service. Customer service makes or breaks a dining experience, and today it completely broke it for me. I won't be returning and would recommend trying one of the many other restaurants in the area instead.

The menu & reviews looked promising. I'm glad we had reservations, as they were packed on a Saturday night. I was pleased that we were seated within 5 minutes. I was also pleased that their huge booth fit 4 of us comfortably & they were happy to add a chair at the end for our 5th guest. A basket of warm rolls was immediately placed on our table. The large menu had something for everyone in every price range. We started with drinks, all of which were good. My companion & I shared a bottle of Clean Slate Riesling ($33) which we enjoyed. She & I both ordered the baked sea scallop special, which came with 2 dinner sides for $24.99. The scallops were delicious but I would have been happier if my baked potato & steamed broccoli had been cooked just a few minutes longer. They were edible, just not quite as soft as I prefer. Our friends enjoyed their meals... citrus swordfish (also one of the specials), French onion soup & salad, and a chicken salad sandwich. My companion & I shared a piece of lemon meringue pie for dessert, which was good. It wasn't as big a serving as at some restaurants, but it was enough. I have no idea of the cost as prices are not listed on the dessert menu, a practice I dislike. I also didn't like the fact that I asked for a fork as I don't like eating cake or pie with a spoon & was told I couldn't have one as they were all needed. Our friends enjoyed their peanut butter pie & coconut cake. Our server was adequate. We had to chase her down to ask for water, lemon, etc. I understand she was very busy but a smile would have been nice. I do appreciate the fact that we were not rushed out, and we were allowed plenty of time to catch up with our friends. Also, the hostess was gracious enough to take a photo of our group as we were leaving the restaurant. This restaurant used to be the Country Inn on Market Street in Warren. They have a decent sized parking lot, although it seemed barely sufficient for the amount of volume they do. I would rate this restaurant a 3.5 if I had that option. Will I return? Probably not.
