If you decide to take your animals here for anything, be prepared to deal with negligible staff who cannot communicate with each other, much less their patients. Our dog was prescribed an antibiotic in which they under-prescribed the dose by more than half and we caught the mistake when we got home. I had to call and message multiple times to get them to correct their mistake and when they did, there was not an apology or anything given to us. In addition, we were waiting for a test result on our dog and were given an estimated date for the results to come in. This date came and went and I reached out to them days later (again multiple calls and messages) to see if the results were in. Their response was "the results are in and have been placed in Dr. box so you should be receiving results within your email from the Dr. It was placed in dr. box that is out so was moved to more available Dr. so we can those results out to you." To this, i called and messaged again in with concern that we hadn't received the test results and someone (NOT a doctor) finally reached out to us to let us know that the test results that had been sitting in "the dr. Mailbox" required medical intervention. And again we didn't receive an apology for the delay in receiving the test results, which could have negatively impacted our dog's health. You will do the job of all of the staff if you bring your pets here, save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere for an establishment that ACTUALLY takes pride and cares properly for their patients. read more

I'd like to start this review out by saying Dr. Fowler is a godsend! I am a first-time puppy owner and went through a reputable website to do my research on a breeder. I specifically wanted a Shih Tzu puppy and the breeder I selected had a litter available, but they weren't quite ready for pick up. The day came for me to finally pick up my new puppy and leading up to picking her up, the breeder had informed me that she was 100% healthy and had been cleared by 1 of the 4 vets she use. After picking my new girl up, I noticed her eye looked swollen and was red. She could barely open it and when I reached out to the breeder, she told me it could be irritated from the bath she had given her right before pick up. Due to picking her up on a Saturday, a lot of vets are closed on the weekend unless you take them into an emergency Hospital. Monday morning, I was able to get my girl in. Dr. Fowler came in and did her recommended testing to properly diagnose my sweet puppy. It turns out I received her with a pre-existing ulcer on her eye at eight weeks old. Doctor Fowler listened to my concerns and addressed everything I brought to her attention. Because I mentioned something about mucousy stool, she suggested I get a fecal test done. I am so glad she did because I was able to find out my new eight week old puppy came with parasites as well. I am so thankful she recommended all of the testing that was performed on my sweet girl so we can address everything and get her to 100% healthiness. Dr. Fowler's bedside manner is out of this world! She took the time to explain to me, a new pet owner, everything she was doing to where I could easily understand what she was saying. She actually made me feel more relieved than I was walking in even after finding out the diagnosis of what was going on. I also love the fact that she sends a full and detailed report of the visit. She also included in the report about how she advised me to reach out to the breeder for reimbursement for this vet bill. Thankfully everything is treatable and we are now on the road to recovery. We had the most horrible experience there. Our dog almost lost his eye due to the negligence of the staff. Both vet and staff were rude and lacked compassion or empathy. They did not apologize or try to fix the problem. They made excuses and continue to do so. My initial experience at this clinic a few years ago was excellent. Whoever they have allowed to manage this clinic since then is lacking in customer service and management experience. If you do use their clinic make sure that they send you home with discharge paperwork in hand and don't trust they'll email it because they are in a hurry to get off on Fridays and clinic is closed on weekends. They'll lie and say they emailed it to you on top of other lies they tell. Also, check your billing statement. They charged me for items that we never received. On top of that stated our total bill was $164 and charged us $250 due to items added on. We are currently disputing charges with our cc. Do your research and read reviews. Something has gone terribly wrong at this clinic. Also, this clinic is not a BBB accredited business. Therefore, it does not meet the BBB standards for trust. *** UPDATE: After filing a complaint with the BBB in an attempt to resolve this issue the CountyLine Veterinary response was again met with false allegations against myself and my husband. They refuse to take ownership for their negligence. Thankfully we were refunded by our credit card company without their input. This continues to be a nightmare as they retaliated by emailing their personal notes and correspondence between myself and staff to KAE's new veterinary which again is very unprofessional and unethical for any business. I responded by sharing a screenshot of my review. We feel like we are being harassed for speaking up and advocating for our pet. This has been a devastating experience and continues to be as KAE has been referred for urgent Opthamologist specialty care in San Antonio. We are praying that he will get the treatment he needs and his eye will heal without further damage. read more

My dog wasn't feeling well and I requested an urgent appointment on Monday as she wasn't eating for several days. I was told that the earliest they could get me in was the following day. My dog died the next morning. Do not go to this clinic if you want to keep your dog alive. Urgent appointments should be same day and they should do whatever they can to get you in to see a vet. What is worse is they send you stuff on how much they care about your pet but in the end they don't care. If they did care I would have been able to see the vet that day. read more

I would have to go into the office to get it. When I went to the office I was told there would be a fee for it "a same day" Rx or I could come back at their convenience to get it. Why wasn't there one made when I had my appointment and testing?!? Especially since you didn't offer to sell it to me. I have been taking my 2 frenchies and my St. Bernard to County Line for a few years now and I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. My Saint is 10 and has arthritis in his legs and spine so I am there at least once a month with him, plus I take the frenchies for nail trims and go in to pick up medication. I am there so much my phone automatically tells me how long it will take to get there when I get in my car lol. They give my dogs so much love when we go in that my dogs look forward to going. My female Frenchie would shake because she was so scared of the vet but now she jumps up on the bench and lays down like she owns the place. All the girls at the front desk are amazing! My dogs love to see Brandy! All of the vets and vet techs are wonderful. Obviously I am there a lot and I have never had a bad experience. I highly recommend County Line. read more

A vet reached out to apologize for the way the staff blew me off. Which I am grateful for because it's more than they had to do. I still am not happy the way things were initially handled. But at least someone from the office reached out. I'm still not convinced he was actually seen by anyone other than the nice male Tech. I didn't get a refund for the non visit that took place. I guess they had to charge for him being "seen" for his TraZODone. I would definitely stay with your fur baby the whole time if you can to make sure they're actually seen by someone though. Just moved to the area and needed a vet for shots for grooming. Got an appointment within 2 weeks. Lobby is very open and clean. Separate entrance for cats. They have their own parking lot and grassy area. Had an appointment at 2 and was in a room by 2:10. Only had to wait because of a difficult dog in the lobby that took multiple staff. Vet tech and doctor were very friendly and efficient. Paid and out the door by 2:45. A week later They sent a handwritten card with a note from everyone that saw my dog welcoming us to the vet. read more

We recently went through hell with them and our now deceased dog because they treated her for 24 hours worth of fluids when she needed to be seen by an emergency doctor. they kept her there all day without calling us or updating us and told us she was fine, walking, had energy-by the time I got to the clinic to pick her up (about a 10 minute drive) some technician brought her out, carrying her by a torn up towel because she could barely stand and the fluids had made her auto immune condition decline rapidly. it was by far the most traumatic and undeserving experience I have had. they are liars who will throw whatever they can at you when you are desperate for a paycheck. Our 5 year old fur baby was misdiagnosed last weekend. Instead of running cheap blood tests that would have shown exactly what was wrong with my dog, they insisted we do x rays because they were certain they felt a mass. They filled my dog full of fluids and antibiotics and shrugged his violent vomiting to gastritis after several days in their hospital facility, and then sent him home on a Friday with meds, that I couldn't get him to even take because he was refusing food for 7 days, prior to me bringing him back home. When we got home, our dog laid miserably on our kitchen floor, when I did get him up, he had extremely violent, bloody diarrhea and would vomit up any water consumed. I got super worried, knowing it wasn't just gastritis and took him to another vet hospital that Saturday, and learned through a simple blood test that my dog was suffering with Lymphoma, where my family and I had to then make the horrible decision to put our pup down. I know the cancer results were no ones fault, besides mother nature being cruel... but I totally feel that County Line was very negligent in my dogs care sending him home suffering the way he was. I asked for some sort of compensation for their negligence and was told the owner was NOT willing to do so. Because of their lack of compassion, and NOT accepting any responsibility for their negligence, I will NEVER bring our beloved pets back to them for any care or boarding. If asked about County Line, I will tell everyone who will listen, just the heart break they caused my entire family by allowing our dog to suffer so miserably. Ps. The mass they swear was there, was his swollen Lymph nodes. There was nothing in his stomach of any sorts... we were forced to pay County line over $800 and then, had to turn around and pay another vet an additional $1000 to get the correct answers. I feel the OWNERS are heartless and do not care about their customers, except for the fees they earn by racking on and misdiagnosing your pets!!!! read more

This is THE place for all your baby's (pets) needs. The front staff really goes the extra distance to help deliver the best care. My little Maltipoo Bearbear just had his teeth cleaned and the Doctor was very patient, knowledgeable and put me at ease with the anesthesia, procedure and what to expect. I received a phone call letting me know how the procedure went. My main concern was the anesthesia. Bearbear received all day post-op care to include IV hydration throughout his stay. My little guy is my heart and he's been receiving the best care now for just short of 3 years. Dr. Doris follows his routine care and Bearbear's health is always in the best of hands. my pup was having sudden issues that needed to be addressed immediately so finding an appointment the same day was going to be a hassle. i called many vets around NB and understandably no one would see her on such short notice, mostly all referred me to go to an emergency vet. obviously ERs are extremely expensive and didn't want to take that route if i didn't have too. county line was fully booked that day but managed to squeeze my little girl in, they were completely transparent about the wait being long since i was basically a last min schedule which i had no issue with. mine and my pups experience there was beyond amazing. the vet and the tech were so loving and truly cared for my pup, they got on the floor with her to make her comfortable, they were completely transparent about charges and what tests they were wanting to do. my little girl is doing so much better now and i'm beyond grateful for the care she got at county line!!! read more

We've been going to County Line since January 2019 after my cat had been sick and seen twice within 3 days at a different vet clinic. County Line immediately took her in on Monday morning. Dr. Dorris and Micky were absolutely amazing with Echo. We were there everyday for about a week getting Echo different antibiotics and breathing treatments. Dr. Dorris actually listened to me when I told her what symptoms Echo was having, when the other vet clinic did not. On Thursday it was decided that Echo needed to be seen by a specialist, and County Line arranged everything for us to go to Blue Pearl. Echo did get better and County Line called and also sent a card wishing her well. We now take our other cat to see Dr. Dorris. Also, there's a cat entrance, which is a plus! read more

My husband brought my dog in about a month ago for not feeling well. It was very much something Gastro related.. they ran bloodwork and simply saw his thyroid levels were a little low. So Dr. Dorris prescribed thyroid meds, and every diarrhea med and supplement under the sun without even trying to get a real diagnosis on what was the culprit (yet somehow this cost 350). I took him to A different clinic when he steadily got worse. They palpated his stomach and just doing that felt something was wrong, ran a fecal, emptied anal glands, and got us an appt with an ultrasound specialist that was coming in the next day asap. So what county line diagnosed as a little hypothyroidism was actually a malignant tumor wrapped around his small intestine, which spread to his lymph nodes (which caused the thyroid to appear low). I love coming here with my dog Lynette. They make you feel like you are the most important person in the office and your pet is first. They all remember every pet by name and ask how everything is going. Some times the wait can be a little long, but it is all worth it. I just moved to the New Braunfels area and I could bit be happier with the Vet I have chosen!!! I work in Austin and my boyfriend works in San Antonio so it works or so well for us that we can drop them off in the morning for their vet visits and pick them up once we get back home from work! I was terrified there was something seriously wrong with my Golden Retriever Service Dog when I called in a panic. We are new the area & had not been to a vet in New Braunfels. The gal who answered the phone was very understanding, sympathetic, took the minimum Information she needed & told me to come right in. When we arrived the gals got us right back. The vet tech was so supportive, listened to our concerns, was amazing with our baby & felt like a friend immediately. Dr Martin came in & listened to everything. Gave us options & took amazing care of our boy. Over the next 3 days she made 3 follow up calls; when he had to return for IV fluids we were told to bring him right back in with no questions asked. He never leaves us & it wasn't easy to leave him even for a couple hours but Dr Martin & her staff were very reassuring & made us feel as comfortable. When we picked him up he was still our smiling boy even with his newly acquired "cone" apparel!! I was disappointed with 3 other vets in the area before I found County Line. I am so glad I did because all of the staff is friendly, prices are reasonable, and my pups and I love Dr. Dorris! I have brought my special needs dog Vinnie here several times now. The whole process is efficient and they give you a print out of services with prices before any treatment so there is never any surprise about what will be done and the total payment. They also follow up after appointments to see how your pet is doing, this is rare! I feel like they truly care about their patients. I highly recommend them. read more

This office is completely dysfunctional and discompassionate, do not bring your animals here if you want a timely diagnosis. I brought in 4 ~6 week old kittens that I had adopted after their mother was hit by a car in the street for a checkup for spots of hairloss around their ears and feet. I showed up to my appointment on time, then was made to wait for about 30 minutes before being called back into the room, then once I was in the room I got to sit around for a grand total of another 2 hours with four upset kittens in a small room. I saw the nurse and the vet for maybe a grand total of 20 minutes in this entire visit. They didn't even do a skin scraping to test for mites or ringworm (which I now know should be extremely standard on any feral kittens brought in) both of which they ended up having. I payed almost 140 dollars for their first visit, and they did basically nothing. They told me they were going to take blood and stool samples for testing, though after getting home and reviewing my receipt I saw that they were unable to collect either, even though they charged me $25 for it; they said they were gonna do a nail trim, but upon looking at the receipt they also didn't do that. Now, here's where the true discompassion comes in; two weeks go by, and its time for me to take them in for their recheck,and I really wanted to get them back in because the medicine they prescribed was doing nothing, but, because of other personal medical expenses I had, I was a bit tight on money so I called to check what the price would be. I called for two days, and every time I called (at least 8 or so times over that period) nobody answered the phone, but finally a receptionist called me to confirm the appointment and I was able to ask the price. She quoted me a price of $175 just for the recheck, and I almost broke down crying when I told her that I was unable to afford that so I would have to reschedule. Her response was just, "well, call us back when you can reschedule" and she hung up. Shortly after that call, two of my kittens took a turn for the worse ( you know, on account of the undiagnosed ringworm and scabies mites) and they both passed away on me within a couple days. At this point I was terrified for my other two kittens, as well as the two older cats I have in my home, so I had to beg some family members to loan me some money for a while and take them to a vet that actually knew what they were doing. This other vet immediately recognized the signs of a possible ringworm infection and could tell me before he even did a skin scraping that they had scabies mites. I won't name the other vet to avoid conflict, but I would strongly suggest doing some research into vets around town before taking any animals into this place. With a systemic antifungal and a topical to treat fleas, mites, and worms, my two remaining kittens are doing well, and both should make a full recovery. Thank god I took them somewhere else. Oh yeah, and their office manger, Devlin, is the single most discompassionate person I have ever talked to in the health service industry. His attitude was basically that they had gotten their money, so I could go F myself. He embodies everything wrong with the greediness that pervades this country's dysfunctional medical system. I could write a whole novel on the negligence I faced at this office, but unfortunately I'm at the character limit. Please, for the sake of your pet's health, do not ever bring them to this office! read more

The alternative medicine specialist left the practice sometime ago. Could it be because Dr Fowler cares more about the almighty dollar than the animals she took an oath to care for? Don't trust your 4 legged family members to this woman. I wouldn't take a grasshopper there. County line is building a brand new million dollar facility. While they have good intentions, the staff here is a mess. They have horrible communication skills, and it requires 5-6 phone calls to get one request fulfilled. It's a real shame because half the time, you get somebody who is a huge rush and it's apparent. The last thing I want when picking up my sickly pet, is for the technician to toss her into my arms and blurb out instructions for 3 different medications as fast as possible. They have forgotten to place orders, forgotten to provide medication, forgotten to call me back with test results, and once asked me if I was sure my pet was THERE? Reprehensible. The vets themselves seem like very caring and responsible caretakers and I greatly appreciate that, but wow. Get a new staff. Stop hiring employees who just want to get home early and don't care if my pet has her own piss on her when I pick her up. read more
