Same day nail clippings, walk in was available when I called which was appreciated. Just needed to bring rabies vaccination records. Very loud, and overstimulating, for us and the dogs. Our first dog came out slightly panicked but normal for him. Our second dog was timid, and jumpy. Which is normal for her, however she never is aggressive, never lunging towards anyone. She was pulling away, not growling, or anything. They put a muzzle on her, which would be understandable if she was aggressive in anyway, partner was put off by this. The Staff are the most Amazing people than any other groomer place I've ever been and I've had nine doggies over the past 30 years. My current pup is not anxious when we arrive and often gets excited to see the owner. Not recommending this place at all !!! I explained to them how sensitive her skin was when her fur is cut to short . I wanted the teddy bear cut like she normally gets it . She had been there from 930 to 430. When I called to see if she was read , the owner said she was done . I get there and she wasn't even ready . She asked if I got a call from them ...... then she said it would be another 15 min so I leave come back in 20 and still she wasn't ready . Waited 5 min . She then gave her to me and took off to the back I didn't realize how bad she was until I got home . She still had fur all over her from where they hadn't even brushed her through to get off all the cut fur off ! I did call and complained, she said she would fix it but I will not go back ! read more

First posted good review but have to update it. Quality of my dogs cut first and second time was completely different. Second time my dog looked like homeless after Pink Poodle cut: peaces of fur where hanging out everywhere (had to cut it myself with scissors). They brushed it or something so I didn't see it right away just couple of days later! As the cut started growing out, I noticed how unevenly my Pomeranians fur was cut. Also be aware that they won't return your dog's rabies records and tags! They kept mine :( told me to contact the place where I got it to get a copy of it!?!?! How ridiculous that is I don't want copy I want original plus really not planning relocate back to other state where the tag was issued. Not recommend. read more

ZERO STAR RATING! Warning to all those who have dogs. Pics are hard to look at as well. This is a long post...... Do not I repeat do not take your dog to Pink Poodle in New Braunfels. On May 30th we took our Husky to be groomed. When we took him he was a healthy, fun, loving, happy dog with no medical issues whatsoever. Today he does not trust anyone but his family, he is scarred to go to the vet, he has no energy, trouble eating and drinking and has been to the vet more recently then in his 5 years. After picking him up he had trouble jumping into my husbands truck (we thought he was being lazy or extra). My husband had to pick him up and put him in. After being home about an hour I noticed his stomach had some swelling and hour later it was swollen to the point where we decided to take him to the ER. Still at this point we didn't put two and two together. At the hospital we were told someone had definitely kicked or hit him. moment. No one in my house would ever.....well must have been during his grooming. It was a Memorial Day weekend so I had to wait until Tuesday to contact the owner. After calling and speaking to her over the phone I met with her at pink poodle. I showed her the pics (below) and informed her of what the hospital said. She continued to tell me she reviewed the camera footage and that Bandit tried to bite the groomer and that the groomer was "just holding him against the wall with her leg to blow dry him". I know my dog and it is not likely he would even bite someone if they were hurting him. I was not convinced so I asked her son if I could review the footage. Just like I knew he did not try to bite her however he did try to run from her. Well he tried to run from her because she was continually kneeing him in his stomach and slamming him up against the wall repeatedly. Followed by grabbing his hair/possible skin by the side of his neck and shoving him against the wall. As I'm watching this video I instantly wanted to vomit. I'm not a cryer but as any dog mom/dad knows these are our babies. Now, if as an owner you saw this why would you lie and blame my dog. Why would you claim to want to find out what happened but cover it up. To me that says you know what is going on in your establishment. Not to mention there were two other people in the room while this was happening to him. To make matters worse the owner promised to cover the ER bill and all future vet bills and now is saying she will not because the person grooming is responsible. I was also told be her she would give me a copy of the footage and I waited all day for her to tell me nevermind I can't when I returned to follow up on it. After talking to several friends that have taken their dogs each of them tell me that their dogs get anxious and/or cry when they reach pink poodles parking lot. Bandit did as well but we brushed it off to him just not wanting to get a bath. Well now we know why. This is just a portion of the chaos that has occurred but I'd run out of space if I wrote everything. Let me leave you with the final blow that Bandit and other dogs also ended up with kennel cough following their visit. Beware, not everyone works with animals because they love them. read more

She even admitted German Shepherds weren't suppose to be cut this way and it was bad for their coat and to help keep them cool in the heat but did it anyway! I'm honestly shocked at all the bad reviews I'm seeing for this place! I recently brought my 5month old toy poodle in for his first poodle cut. The owner was super accommodating to my schedule and discussed with me exactly what I wanted when I came to drop him off. I have been told by other groomers that Toulouse is difficult and so they refused to groom him. But at The Pink Poodle they worked with him and he ended up with a stunning haircut! He was very excited when I picked him up and didn't seem stressed or upset at all (which I always worry about a little when I leave him with a new groomer). I called the day before and spoke to the owner in detail of how I wanted things,asked many questions and explained to her I'm just a protective mama. Wanted to make sure my baby boy was going to a good place. She was super nice and informative and helpful with any questions I had. The next day we dropped him off for grooming,the groomer seemed nice, great welcoming by staff...the hair cut was what I wanted and looked great. But here is where I'm upset and not going to come back, I feel misinformed and most importantly my baby came back and was not acting like his happy self, your mom instincts just know. When we picked up she mentioned how everyone was so in love with him and couldn't help but pet him..great?! Right??...they are all individually in play pen types in the front waiting to get groomed but this is not a pet shop...why would you allow strangers to pet my baby when I'm not there nor have given permission...he has anxiety with new people especially men and if he would've reacted wrong,would that have been my liability or hers? I can't imagine how uncomfortable my baby boy felt being in a new place getting groomed and then having people come in and out and coming at him to pet him freely..As a dog mom, I would have liked to be informed of this so I could of told you,he is not to be touched. I don't recommend the Pink Poodle for anyone who is a loving pet owner. The owner Diana does not know how to groom a dog. Her groomers Cindy and There's have been witnessed to be abusive to the animals.Yelling and smacking dogs. Showing a lack of patience with difficult or dogs who don't like to be groomed. The animals are crated for boarding and often lay in thier urine unattended over the weekends. Due to the fact they have a neighbor walk them while they are left unattended at the shop. Please do yourself and especially your pet a favor and go anywhere else but the Pink Poodle! read more

We love the Pink Poodle. Our dogs are a bit timid when it comes to this and Diana actually took the time to lay in the floor to relax and calm them. A few days after the grooming we had a vet appointment and our vet commented on how beautiful a job was done on the grooming and the nails and wanted to know who did them. Just a disclosure I have never gotten a pet groomed professionally. We have an older dog and he was so hot with all his fur and since he is an outside dog he was smelly. He is also very skittish around other people and so we were a bit nervous taking him someplace he was not familiar with. We took him to pink poodle for grooming and a bath. They were so gentle with him and let my husband lead him back to the grooming area to make him feel better.Husband picked him up and brought him to the car. Kids did not recognize otto when he came to the car. He was clean, smelled amazing and was so soft! He truly looked 5 years younger and so much happier. I am making an appointment for our german shepherd. We will bring otto in every few months now for grooming as he is so much happier. They even groomed his very unruly tail and it looks fantastic. Very disappointed. Boarded my dog over the Christmas Holliday, upon picking him up noticed his bed was completely soiled with his own pee because he had not been taken outside. None of the food I had brought him for the last four days had left the container since I dropped him off. So they didn't feed him anything to my knowledge. We took our German shepherd to the pink poodle and she came back with a scrap on her nose. She wasn't acting normal and she stared peeing everywhere. When we got her back she was extra sleepy andvery dehydrated. We went to get her and they had her in a very small kennel. I will never recommend this place to anybody. read more

I've been taking my Maltese here for her past 4 haircuts. Her first time coming in, she was really matted so she had to get shaved. I was nervous because I thought she would come home with marks or cuts from them cutting her somehow, but when she came home, she looked beautiful and she didn't have a single mark, cut, or scratch on her! I have took her back every time since then, and she still has not came home with any marks or cuts. I feel comfortable leaving my fur baby here! The owner and rest of the staff are very friendly and sweet towards my girl. They always do a great job on her haircuts, and they know what they're doing. They're super affordable as well!
