Every time I have to make a phone call to Courtcall I am always flabbergasted at how unhelpful their telephone interface dialing system is. The telephone messaging autoattendant should say: "Thank you for calling Courtcall. TO book a new new Courtcall, press 1." Instead, the user has to listen to several minutes of instructions for a) how to request help in French (of all things), b) accounting; c) customer service; d) Spanish help, etc. WHY DOES COURTCALL MAKE IT SO DIFFICULT TO CALL TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE TO SCHEDULE A NEW COURTCALL? Ugh.....during this COVID-19 crisis, there really is no other choice but to use the CourtCall service that my county's Superior Court uses. My first encounter was absolutely horrible. Long wait times (expected), rude and incompetent service agent (named "Jannell"). Not only did she get my phone number wrong, but she got my email address wrong. She refused my request to wait on the line with me until I received her email (which obviously, I never received, since she entered the wrong email address). She continuously and loudly spoke over me and then ditched me for a judge on the other line. I guess CourtCall prioritizes their customers, even though Jannell had just taken my credit card information, so I was at that point, officially, a paying customer. So, one star for that experience. The only reason I give this company another star is due to "Grace", the customer service agent who quickly and efficiently responded to my email request for assistance. Not only did she call me back within 5 minutes of my email to CourtCall, but she was friendly, efficient and explained all my questions.....which the previous agent DID NOT. Overall, I would much rather appear in court person than go through this experience again, but with the novel coronavirus shut-down in my county, this is not an option. read more

Thank you Courtcall. if a judge cannot devote the time to reading the papers I spent many hours carefully drafting, including performing a review of the relevant caselaw I meticulously researched, why the hell should I spend the time driving down to the court for the hearing? Even if the judge has read the papers (usually not), instead of having some research attorney read them and draft a tentative opinion, that judge will often not understand what they are reading. What to do, what to do? The judge could spend some time and PONDER the issue, reading cases and reviewing statutes as they once did. However, an early bird dinner with the spouse awaits, and time is short. What to do, what to do? "I know" thinks the learned judge in a flash of brilliance, I will "wing it" by pronouncing my hastily thrown-together tentative ruling in a loud voice before the throngs in the courtroom. I will look stern, and in a bad mood, so as to disuade any dissenters from voicing any objection. If a lawyer asks me a question that I cannot answer, I will direct the opposing lawyer to answer said question. If meddling questions persist, I shall call "next case", and shall make a note that the questioner is a troublemaker, to be dealt with in the future if the "problem" does not cease and desist. FOR THE LAWYER PONDERING COURTCALL: SHOULD I HAVE THE CLIENT PAY FOR THE COURTCALL FEE? OR SHOULD I MAKE THE DRIVE IN SLOW, GRINDING TRAFFIC TO THEN EXPERIENCE THE SCENARIO SET FORTH ABOVE? If you need the billable hours, than you have no choice you miserable litigation slave. An amazing technological advance and helpful service! A year ago I was waiting for a flight at LAX when a woman came up to me and asked me if I worked for Court Call, I told her no I did not but someone I know works there, hence why I had a court call tag on my luggage. She jumped up enthusiastically and practically screamed "OH MY GOSH THAT SERVICE HAS SAVED MY LIFE!" I love Courtcall. I call them several times a week to set up court calls for my boss, as most hearings are in the morning, and he is definitely not a morning person. With Courtcall, he can take the call from home in his jammies (okay, I don't know if he wears jammies, but you get the idea). Most of the people I talk to are very good, but I spoke to Erika today at ext. 886 and she was amazing - she pulled together all the information she needed at lightning speed. I have worked in the legal field for about 17 years now and I have always loved being able to call courtcall and set up a telephonic appearance for my attorneys. Never had a problem with getting a hold of a live person BUT..........for the past month (November 21019) I have had to deal with waiting for a representative to answer about 20 to 30 minutes each and every time I have had to call as well as the other secretaries in the firm I work at. This is awful!!!! This is ridiculous... how can a business of your caliber give this kind of service. I was having the hardest time navigating the website to setup an appearance. I accidentally started a live chat. Whooooaaaaa what a relief it was! I received the best help from Demaria. Even though I could not hear her tone, I could tell she was very understanding, pleasant and warm and she truly wanted to help me. She set up my appearance but also helped me figure out how to navigate the website. Having to listen to the completely unnecessary and snobbish French version of what they just said in the recording is beyond annoying and a waste of time: A sign that they don't care about anything but themselves and making money. PLEASE: Almost anyone could have a profitable competing business with this lame company. I've used court call twice now and was disappointed both times and am now out over $160 only to have no decision to have my hearing rescheduled to appear in court (which doesn't look good on my part). I would not suggest using this service. You are required to call in and sit on hold until your call is connected to the court. I called in 15 minutes early, however they recommend you call in 5 minutes early. The automated 'on hold' voice memo states that if you're not connected to the courtroom within 15 minutes of sitting on hold to call into court call; however, you cannot hang up with your court call to do this because you may miss your court appearance. The first time I used this service I was on hold for over 30 minutes trying to get the attention of my neighbor to ask for them to call into court call for me to let them know I was still on hold and hadn't been connected to the court room. Finally, they connected me. The second time I used court call (for the same case, just another hearing) the same thing happened to me. I sat on hold for over 30 minutes this time unable to have someone else call into court call to remind them I was sitting on hold waiting to be connected. In a desperate effort to be connected to the court room, I contacted court call via their website contact form. Finally a court call representative got on the line with me and connected me to the court room, where I heard the judge stating that I failed to appear on the call at 8AM. Although I had been sitting on hold 5 minutes prior to 8AM and for 30 minutes without being connected. If you're trying to make a good case for yourself and be responsible when dealing with court matters and are out of the area, I highly recommend you finding a way to appear in court. Using this service and being charged over $80/call only to not be connected to the court, looking bad in the judges eyes as not present and having court call representatives say 'oh well' when trying to ask for a refund is disappointing. This is the most expensive 'phone call' I've ever made. Just make your court appearance and avoid this hassle and expense. read more

Worst service I have ever used. I paid $86 for 6 min on scratchy nothingness. Even at the end of the call the court clerk admitted she could not hear much either. I was told by court call that services had been provided and that it does not matter if i could hear anything. There is a reason that this business is not accredited by the Better Business Bureau. Please do yourself a favor and don't use this service. They tried to tell me that something must have been wrong with my phone. Come on man! U have been warned and u are welcome. This was the first time using the Court Call service. I was told i would not be charge while waiting for my case to come up on the docket. I specifically asked the representative about fees as i had no idea how long these cases could last. I was 11th on the docket so I called at the 10am specified time the court opened and i had to wait about 40 minutes on the phone until my case came up. My case was discussed for 23 minutes and then i promptly hung up the phone after the call. The fees were $35.00 for the first 45 minutes and then $7.50 for each additional 15 minutes. Since my case was under 45 minutes, i expected to be billed $35.00. A few weeks later my credit card was billed an additional fee of $15.00. I called to dispute this and then was told that i am charged from the time i call in to the time i hang up. THIS IS EXACTLY OPPOSITE OF WHAT I WAS TOLD IN THE BEGINNING. The contract i was provided also DOES NOT state that callers will be charged from time on the phone. It only states the fees. This is a poor way to run a business. Be transparent. If expectations are set at the beginning, then you won't get consumers angry with you and bad feedback on Yelp! Too bad :( read more

$86!!!! Yes, that's what they charge to make a local phone call to the Court! On top of that, it took so long for them to put my call through that by the time it was put through my case was already called! This really is the most expensive call you can make! Before this private company, CourCall LLC, started profiteering, attorneys used to be able to call into the Court. The Court used a good old fashioned speaker phone. Cost of the call? Zero dollars. Then this private company CourtCall somehow managed to get contracts with the courts so that parties were forced to use their telephones! Why does it cost $86 to make a local phone call???? If ATT or Verizon did this people would be demanding reform and accountability. But get a government contract and you can fleece people. They should make using the phone free or cheap so as to encourage people to call in rather than add to traffic and air pollution, which is particularly a problem here in Los Angeles. Instead, it costs $9 to park and less than a gallon of gas or $12 in total to park and drive or $86 to make a phone call? Really??? read more

I had a legal matter that I was able to call into the courtroom for, but got dropped, even with excellent cellular service. When I called back, they transferred me into the wrong courtroom and ended up making a judgement that wound up costing me 2.5 times the amount I had originally was going to pay due to the fact that I could not argue for myself since I got placed into the wrong courtroom!! I paid $86 for what?? I might as well have saved the money and used that towards the new judgement if I just wanted to look like I didn't care! But instead, I paid these people so that I could hear the other cases being called, not my own. Rochelle was particularly rude as one of their representatives and took what could have been a simple mistake personally and got super defensive and ended up getting me very angry in-turn, as I also work in a customer service based industry. This really ruined my day, my future paychecks, and my outlook on a company I thought I would be excited utilizing their services. read more
