Buyer beware. Be especially cautious with their used car operation, specifically under used car manager LJ Miller. Based on my experience, there appears to be a pattern of saying whatever is necessary to move inventory, particularly vehicles that have been sitting on the lot for extended periods. In my case, the vehicle had a significant control arm issue that was obvious during the test drive. Their own salesperson, Annette Catoire, acknowledged the problem at the time. Even my 16-year-old daughter, who has no knowledge of cars, immediately noticed the excessive shaking and asked about it. Despite this, I was repeatedly assured, both verbally and in writing, that the issue would be addressed. I was provided a 6-month / 7,500-mile warranty to cover repairs within that time. However, just two days after delivery, they voided the warranty without justification or notification. Clearly an act of deception. This experience raises serious concerns about Courtesy's transparency, accountability, and the reliability of their commitments. I strongly encourage anyone considering a purchase to go elsewhere. This is to the point that I am bringing this to the State Attorney General's Office. Thankfully I have everything in writing. read more

Complaint / Review Today was the second time I scheduled service at this location for the vehicle I purchased here, and once again the experience was extremely disappointing. The first time, I arrived 30 minutes early for my scheduled appointment, only to be told there was a 4-5 hour wait, even though I had booked ahead. I was then informed that an "appointment time" is simply a drop-off time, which was frustrating, but I let it go and got the service done elsewhere. Fast forward to today (12/4/25)--six months later. I scheduled a 7:30 AM appointment for an oil change, tire check, and an inspection of my Buick Envista's dash screen, which has been going black. I'm nearing 30,000 miles, so it's an important issue to address. I arrived at 6:45 AM, early again, and was literally the first one in line. I checked in, explained everything clearly, and took the shuttle to work. By 2:00 PM, after hearing nothing, I called to check on my vehicle. I was told that only the oil change had been completed. Amber then informed me that the vehicles of people who sit and wait get serviced first. So now, instead of being told it's a drop-off time, I'm being told wait-in customers get priority. Which one is it? The inconsistency alone is unprofessional. As a previous Buick owner, I can honestly say the service at this location has gone downhill tremendously. This is now the second time I have asked for the service manager and been told he was not in the building, or at least that's what I was told. I picked up my car and will not be returning to this location for service again. I will be contacting Buick directly regarding the issues with my screen as well as the unacceptable service I've experienced here--because it truly disappointing... I bought a 80,00 truck from courtesy gmc in Lafayette Louisiana in 2023 while doing the paperwork my wife went to the dealership because i work out of town the finance guy called me while doing the paperwork with my wife he wanted to sell me an "EXTENDED WARRANTY" on my new purchase gm has a 3 year 36 thousand mile warranty he stated the extended warranty was 5 year 100,000 mile warranty "BUMPER TO BUMPER" I contacted my salesman to check on what was being told to me by the finance guy he backed it up 100% which i will be adding the text screenshot in the photo section fast forward to 40,000 miles my truck left me stranded and was brought in to Courtesy which the fixed because it fell under the drivetrain warranty, i informed Courtesy that my tailgate was opening on it's own the problem is plastered all over the internet turns out "THE 100,00 MILE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY" is a worthless piece of paper i was denied the claim to fix my tailgate you know the "BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY' it's a worthless piece of paper. I just brought my truck to them again and was refused service because the truck was too old. I will never buy a vehicle from them again, as the service department has become unreliable. For the service department. Was dealing with miss Karri in regards to missing rear brake mounting brackets causing it to clatter and squeal when braking. Had an appointment scheduled to have this safety concern resolved but when it came to the day of my appointment " no diesel techs" were available to work on my truck. I did not have the time to go back and forth so was told that if there was an opening I would receive a call to bring it back in. A month passed and still have not received a phone call. She was cursing at times and stated parts were not part of the 2 year warranty, which they were. After the poor customer service I received, I asked for a different service advisor and was appointed to Vic and Casey (I would highlight their names if I could). They handled everything professionally and had my concerns addressed two weeks before my appointment. They are great to work with and I highly recommend them. read more

I'm going to attach the text thread I had with my salesman then my tailgate broke it was randomly going down by itself it's a problem it's all over the internet and there's a piece on it that messes up when he gets wet and it randomly opens, they turned down the "BUMPER TO BUMPER" claim and told me that because it gets wet. Perhaps this should be a 4 star but I think this dealership deserves a 5 star review. At the end of 2022 was in the market for a vehicle---decided was going to get a used---almost got one in October until that dealership (not this one) went up on the price after I arrived so I walked out. In November saw a vehicle at this dealership which interested me and contacted them online to arrange a test drive. I arrived and my salesman (CJ) was ready and showed me the vehicle---he was knowledgeable and polite and did not full press attempt to get me to buy. One thing it appears this dealership does is not detail the used car for presentation so the one I viewed was less than impressive and I did not purchase it. Shortly thereafter another used vehicle was posted on its website which piqued my interest---same routine--set appointment and when I arrived CJ was present, ready and attentive. Agreed on a price and purchased vehicle--process was smooth and professional--as was CJ. A few weeks later I encountered an issue with the tires and contacted CJ---brought the vehicle in and this dealership made it right---the visit took longer than I expected but bottom line the dealership made it right without question when it could have taken a harder position (would not have agreed with their doing so but they could have) but they did not---as such one could say their policy of not detailing used cars before placing them on the lot and the long wait should lower the star rating but I disagree as the salesman (CJ) was always upfront and straight with me and while I thought the return visit was longer than expected, it may but have been, so I choose to acknowledge an overall positive and pleasant experience with 5 stars. Bought a brand new 2020 GMC Terrain and when i went to pick it up the floorboard was full of water !! I"m writing in reference to my experience while purchasing a new vehicle at Courtesy GMC/BUICK Dealership in Lafayette La.November 11th 2019,and was not allowed to pick it up until November 18th 2019 due to them dragging there feet trying to prepare the paperwork,Then i received a call to pick up the vehicle on the 18th of November,and when i arrived and got in the vehicle i notice the floorboard was completely soaked in water,after that i told them i did not want this vehicle (after all this was a brand new vehicle)After this my salesman ROGER CERDA took the vehicle in too the shop,an no one could give me answers to what happened,and i made it very clear i wanted a vehicle with no issues.Also want to inform you that i spoke to a financial Rep named Chris on November 11th 2019 who quoted me a specific amount on Gap Ins And the extended warranty,the next day i went in i was dealing with a different financial rep named Mrs Jackie and she was completing the paperwork and the total that i was quoted from Chris was completely different then what was agreed on for the The Gap Ins and the Extented warranty,So Chris lied to me,i also said i would be having a co-signor and in stead they completely reversed the paperwork putting co-signor as the BUYER and myself as the co signor.All my paper work and license plate reflects my friend who lives in new orleans as the owner.All Necessary paperwork was being mailed to him and the bank was even calling him instead of me the buyer where i reside in LAFAYETTE lA.I PERSONALLY had to contact GMC CORP,cause the dealership was of no help to me,once they got my money that was it,service after the sale was very poor,and after about a month and a half,someone finally contacted me,beside the first lady i was dealing with before,her name was evinlynn she would call i missed her call but i would call right back and no answer sometimes three times a day i'd call and no answer we were playing tag team but every time she call which about three times i would miss her call but i called back and like i said sometimes tree times a day and she had gave me her extention if y'all need it i have it,so after calling her for about a week and she would not call back i just gave up on her,GMC CORP refused to give me a new vehicle,due to the water that had completely soaked the floorboard and made all other issues very complicated trying to get anything resolved,because they had put the vehicle in my friends name,and we signed where they told us to not reconizing that they were making him the buyer and me the co-signor,and about three months later i went to the service dept and while there i asked to speak to General Manager over the dealership and they sent me the manager over the service department,and i explained every thing from the day i went to pick up my vehicle,so when we were done he said he would relay the information on to the general manager the next day and have him call me,and i have still not heard from this man and its been close to three months.Then finally GMC CORP finally got in touch with me and they told me all they can do was give me for a floorboard full of water was an electrical warranty on specific electrical parts,if i would have had another vehicle i would have turned that down,but since i had no other vehicle i took it. NO STARS !!!! I am 73 Yrs old and have bought dozens of cars. This has been the worst experience with a car dealer I have ever been exposed to. My new car had one key and no one knew where the other key was. After 3 weeks of hounding my salesman he finally set up an appointment for the dealer to make my other key. This should only take a couple of hours. After my car was there 6 hours with no report from anyone I call and they don't have the blank to make my key. From the salesman to the managers the only employee with any customer give a care was the girl who brought me to work. I have been here many times for routine service and sometimes repair. I have brought vehicles I purchased here, and vehicles I purchased elsewhere. They always do good work, fix the issue, and take care fo the car. Service writers are friendly. If I wait for the vehicle, they are always considerate and come find me in the showroom or waiting area. They have never suggested repairs outside of what was needed. I would prefer not to give any stars honestly... Lets start with the good parts, the sales associate Ryan and the manager (unsure which manager, maybe business manager?) Ian were both great to work with through the selection and paperwork process. Now for the bad... First, I have been in the area for several years, give or take about 15 or so years... I have visited this place previously and had not so great experiences, all things said, should have left a review at those times as well, however that all seemed to be washed away with the interaction with Ryan and Ian. We selected a vehicle (used), while waiting for paperwork from insurance, GAP and Warranty to finalize, we secured the deal, or so we thought, by signing all purchase paperwork, agreeing to the price that they set, agreeing to purchase GAP and the extended warranty even. We put down a reasonable amount as well at the time of signing everything... The paperwork was taking longer than anyone expected to be completed between all of the parties, as such, we received a call when it was too close to the end of the month and they wanted to sell the vehicle to someone else. Excellent timing, we have no rental either because the insurance company (GEICO...) paid out to the wrong folks and no longer wanted to provide the rental as they saw their end as complete! The wife and I took the bus up there, I was really disappointed that I didn't have the opportunity to express how I felt about this directly to the individual responsible... The used car manager! Courtesy my foot! Thought the deal was done, very disappointed in the responses understood to have come from the used car manager. The thoughtless actions with no regards for people or their circumstances or situations on his part were uncalled for. TLDR: I do not recommend doing business with companies such as this. I bought a Buick in Jan and I was instructed to connect with Onstar. They set up a wifi in my car that messed up my google maps, and they said that it could not be deleted. Today is saw a charge on my debit card for Onstar, which I DID NOT authorize, but they told me that I authorized the service as soon as I pushed the Onstar button. Now I have to contest the charge with Capital On myself. This id dealership fraud. I will contact the Attorney General's office about this. GM is committing fraud with these practices. i traded in the jeep on my camry. we bought the jeep in 2014 from courtesy dodge and jeep in breaux bridge. at 8,000 miles my jeep was in the shop for a total of two months with transmission issues. at 26,000 miles my jeep was in the shop for two weeks time with alternator issues. over that year, i also got a recall notification regarding the air bags, the radio possibly being hacked and causing me to like wreck in a tree and all that good stuff, not to mention the recall for the windshield wipers that could possibly stop working in the middle of a down pour. so there was what i thought to be the last straw to break the camel's back, my door hinge on the drivers side started making a noise and the vehicle started idling badly. i bring it to them, they keep it 8 hours tell me its fixed, pick it up and what do you know the hinge makes the noise. they keep my jeep for another week find that the belt and pully need to be replaced, and repair the hinge. so i go to musson patout and trade it in, thinking thank god i am rid of courtesy and the jeep. we have been waiting over a month for my gap, etch and extended warranty to be reimbursed to us. i call three lots, talk to four people, and finally the lady in finance calls me back. she tells me that my paperwork to cancel the policies has been lost. there is confidential information on this paperwork. not to mention they want me to fill this paperwork out again, and wait another four weeks for my reimbursement. so i ask the lady, what is courtesy going to do since i am going to go two months not having this money and i am not getting paid interest on this money in my savings. still not to mention the confidential information on this cancellation paperwork. she says well i have a job to do, and i have a policy to follow, i will get with my manager, but other then telling you to submit the paperwork again, there is not much i can do for you. i would like you to know i have had the worst two years experience with courtesy. please if your going to buy with them only buy at the lot in broussard since through all this they are the only lot that seems to know anything. this is the worst experience i have ever had with the purchase and the trade in of a vehicle in the history of buying cars. if i could put a negative rating on here i would. read more

I purchased a brand new GMC Canyon at Courtesy GMC, and I've have to bring it in over 10 times now to fix issues/recalls that are still not fixed to this day. My steering wheel rattle was brought into the shop to get fixed FIVE times, and it is still not fixed. I brought my truck in to get the driver and passenger doors fixed because they are both rattling, and they told me that they do not hear the rattle so they aren't fixing it. I've saved a lot of money to be able to purchase my first new vehicle with GMC, and I am regretting it 10000%. The amount of issues I have with the truck makes me want to just set it on fire. Even when I go in for just a simple oil change, it takes 2 hours to get my truck back. The service department is absolutely terrible. I will never ever be purchasing another GMC. Now I'm stuck with this piece of crap until I can pay it off, because the value of the truck now is not nearly close to the amount I owe on it. Worst purchase I've ever made hands down. read more

If interested in buying a vehicle always check the new vehicle prices before looking at the used vehicles. Because once you sign the contract to purchase on used and decide to go new they will not let you out of the contract. They will screw you on the new purchase by you loosing your down payment and $1000.00's of dollars will be added to the new purchase to compensate for the sale of the used vehicle. The sales manager was very unprofessional after I refused to provide my credit card for a loaner car due to the dealership selling me a vehicle with hail damage and not telling me until I signed the paperwork. He provided me with a vehicle but forgot to give me a license plate for the loaner. I texted him to let him know and this was his reply 'Doing what I can.
