I don't give five stars often. This is my favorite Courtyard. I'm a Ripken fan, so I really like the view of the youth ball fields from my room! The rooms are clean. Beds are comfortable. I came into town for a work event and this hotel was chosen to host our employees. I didnt realized that this is 2 hotels in one building. There is a residence in and also a courtyard. I ended up entering on the Residence inn side and upon entering, the front desk area looks updated and clean. However, it was directing everyone to check in on the Courtyard side. I was able to check in a tad early so that was a plus. When i got to my room, i was just taken aback of how a marriott could look so run down. This place needs major upgrades. As per all my other reviews, you know i had to check the bathroom. I have a fear of mold and dirty tubs. Of course, given the interior of the rest of the room, the bathroom was just nasty. There was some pink stain at the bottom of the tub, there was rust (that I thought was blood at one point) on the door jams and the bed was just too big for the bedroom. I should have just gotten an efficency. The wall made everything feel so tight. Because i had to be at a meeting offsite, i just put my stuff down and headed out. When i got back, i ate at thier cafe(not bad for hotel food but did need some seasoning), but I ended up requesting another room. I asked my coworker to walk through the old room to make sure i was trippen. She shared my same thoughts. I got moved to another room that still had a not so clean shower (soap scum and some mold) but decided it was better than sleeping in my car. I pulled back the sheets and boom, a dirt mark. I was so tired and i had to wake up at 4am the next day...it wasnt worth me requesting another room. I simply put a towel over it and slept with one eye open. I couldnt wait to check out. The residence inn side def need some upgrades to their rooms including paint jobs and replace dirty showers. I will not go back. I only gave it 2 stars because i was able to check in early and the staff was friendly. read more

The staff was incredibly friendly. The problems with my room occurred over the first 12 hours and weren't representative of Marriott as a whole. First- the toilet seat would not stay up unless I moved the tank lid askew. Otherwise, it would come crashing down. The ironing board was fixable, but I really shouldn't have to be fixing ironing boards. No regular coffee, only decaf. The crowning jewel was Monday morning when I took a shower. The mixing valve would allow only tepidly warm water, or scalding hot water. At this point you may ask if I brought this to the managers attention. I did not. Having experienced rooms like this before, I knew the resolution would be to move to another room. That puts the onus of fixing the situation on me, not the hotel. I shouldn't have to pack up clothes, computers, etc because this hotel can't maintain their property. Pretty disappointed. read more

My main gripe is the staff was super unhelpful. I was here for a last minute business trip and needed to check in on the earlier side (noon--check out is at 11) so that I could grab a quick shower after my flight and change into formal attire, fix my hair/makeup--you get it. The front desk associate (Paola) barely cracked a smile while dealing with me and just very matter of factly told me there was nothing she could do regarding an early check in. I can see how if you request a particular room in advance, it might not be ready early, but really--you're telling me there's not a single empty room in this hotel right now? I work in customer service and the level of her uselessness would warrant re-evaluation in my business. She basically stared at me with a blank face and couldn't so much as point me in the direction of the ladies room--where the floor was so filthy that I ended up using half of their toilet seat cover supply as a make shift rug so I could stand barefoot while I changed. Otherwise its just another crappy Mariott. You get what you pay for. read more

They let you bring food from outside the hotel BUT you have to eat it in your room. You CANT eat it in the lobby area or the restaurant (that's never open) area. You can't bring alcohol to the hotel and Drink it downstairs. You have to buy the very priced and limited selection of alcohol that they offer Real poor managed hotel, run down, terrible internet all around the hotel. Look for newer and better hotels around this hotel. Very pricey for what you get read more

The front desk attitude set us off on a roller coaster of a horrible stay. Not only where towels limited and toilet paper, the ice machines were down and only one elevator worked. A friend of ours room was a constant 80 degrees for 4 nights. Understaffed and lacking preparation for a known busy week of baseball. Stay across the highway and enjoy plenty of ice and working elevators and pleasant staff. Waste of money at this place read more

Stayed here as we had a business meeting nearby. I was surprised when we drove up as it looked like the hotel was built for the baseball field behind it and if you stayed here you are obviously here for that. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful always a great way to start. The rooms and property are very clean which is the most important. Luckily during our stay there were no kids or baseball games being played. My shower had an issue as both the tub and shower filled with water. Being limited in my plumbing skills I couldn't get it to only work for the shower so the tub filled up as well. No problem I let them know at check out as my stay was short and they immediately wrote down my request for repair. Also whoever designed the room the tv is partially blocked so in bed you need to lean to your left to change the channels. I truly don't sleep too well when traveling and needed a drink in the middle of the night. So there is a mini mart adjacent to the front desk. Nice cold drinks and you pay for them there as well either as a room charge or separately. Better than looking for change for a soda machine. The next morning we had breakfast in their cafe the service was fantastic. The portion of oatmeal I had could feed a family of four or perhaps a baseball player. Would definitely stay here again next time we are in this area. read more

Horrible experience with the front desk supervisor and haven't arrived even arrived yet! I booked a room for my family of 4 in April 2022 for tournament in September 2022. My reservation confirmation specifically states that my family, 2 adults and 2 children, are booked for a king bed and a pull out sofa bed. I was able to proceed with a booking the reservation and received a confirmation email. Today, I called to confirm my reservation for the upcoming tournament. I was informed that the room has a one bed and a twin pull out sofa bed. No where on their website states that the pullout bed is a twin size that accommodates one. The front desk supervisor was not helpful and explained that there was no way to change the room for a larger room. She stated that there was no availability in the hotel nor their sister hotel. I explained that it was their error that I was able to proceed with my reservation which clearly states that my room is for 2 adult and 2 children. The front desk supervisor offered no apologies and explained there was nothing that she could do. I asked what would I have done if I had traveled for hours to find that we would not have had a bed to sleep. She stated that I should periodically check to see if something opens for next week's tournament. Maybe Marriott should be more clear on their website and not permit families of four to book rooms that don't accommodate them. I would have been at a loss if I traveled for more than 4 hours to find out that we would not have all had a place to sleep. read more

Stayed here again after a couple of years of not stopping at this particular Marriot. We travel with dogs and our own food so the Residence Inn is our go to. We were relieved that this Marriot was as clean and nice ever as we have noticed decline in a few other Marriot's we stayed in of late. I suppose the Pandemic has greatly affected the industry, so hopefully time will help the other Marriot's we were not so happy with. read more

You have been warned!!!! So I came into town for a one night stay at this hotel. Woke up the next morning to my vehicle and multiple others in the parking lot on cinder blocks with their rims and tires stolen. Advised the hotel about the situation and they informed me that they do not cover vehicles on the premises for damages and I was pretty much out of luck . Spoke to corporate and they were unhelpful and let me know their insurance does not cover vehicles on the premises. With that being said I was left to pay for all related damages in addition to multiple night stays at the hotel. If possible choose other options for lodging in this area. read more

Pros: rooms are decent-sized and clean. Free parking. Cool location if you're in town for a minor league game or a kids game since fields surround the hotel. Cons: has to be hideous for business travelers staying during kid playoffs (I think there are maybe 9 kid fields!). I don't feel there are always enough people working the front desk and the breakfast/Starbucks counter. Two hotels sharing a gym means you may not get a machine. Hotels were built away from the main street so you need to drive a couple minutes to shops or restaurants (no walking). $3 for a 20oz bottle of Aquafina is highway robbery!! If I wasn't Platinum with Marriott and relatively loyal, I'd stay elsewhere. read more

Apparently Residence Inn has a monopoly on the best service. I can't remember the last time a hotel had all their ducks in line to the extent as this hotel. Up front, it should be mentioned that Lafayette is a master at his profession. He exudes joy and professionalism without being obsequious or off-putting. I believe Marriott should put him on the road to train this skill to ALL of their employees. The hotel is polished, updated and fully functional. I could subtract a star for lacking a ventilation fan or heater in the bathroom but honestly, Lafayette makes up for anything and everything and I'd like to tell you why. For some reason, I feel like an insult to the hotel is an insult to him personally. He clearly takes ownership of his job and it shows without offense. Bottom line, if I were still in the hotel business, I'd poach him in a second. But since I'm not, I'll gladly return to this hotel above another within 25 miles. read more

Two hotels... are not better than one. While the Courtyard-slash-Residence Inn is in prime location should you be attending baseball games at either Ripken or the nearby Little League stadiums (or my dear cousin's wedding, as the case may be), the whole experience leaves some to be desired. First, the basics: Both Marriott-owned properties share one building and thus both have access to a pool, a gym, a bar, and some conference rooms. Pretty standard set-up for a Marriott(s). However, trying to be two hotels at once seems to confuse the staff and general signage throughout the hotel. Examples: 1. Mama B. asks if she needs a parking pass to park overnight in the neighboring lot. She's told "no" at the front desk, but "yes" by the literature in the room. 2. Helena and Boyfriend want breakfast. Is it complimentary? We are told "yes" by the literature in the room and "no" (to the tune of $10 each!) by the waitstaff downstairs. OK, so perhaps the we are the only people on earth who READ the literature in the room (you know, that black binder telling you stuff about the hotel... like where the gym is and when the pool closes?), but that's not the point. Plus, $10 for a Belgian waffle is downright criminal. read more

I stayed here one night on a business trip. If you're a baseball fan, you will love this hotel. It's all baseball themed right down to the pictures on the wall in your room. To be honest, it's just a standard Courtyard with a baseball twist. Being a baseball fan, I loved the view from my room. There was no baseball being played this time of year but it was cool to have the view of the "small field." Decent room that was clean. Front desk personnel was polite and accurate. I did not partake in any meals here. Plenty of restaurants and shopping within two miles. I will say-I was extremely tempted to go downstairs and run the bases! read more

I actually like this hotel. I will let you know that in the fall around baseball season on the weekends both the Courtyard and the Residence Inn (they are connected) is jammed packed with kids from all over the world playing baseball. They do run around on the floors but their is a silent time that is posted throughout the hotel. I enjoy the breakfast that is served that comes with booking this hotel versus the courtyard where it isn't included. Due to my long stays in the region I normally go grocery shopping and the kitchen really helps. read more

very nice hotel. have stayed both in summer and winter.. Winter is less busy and hotel is very quiet and orderly. Plenty of free parking and side access to the building, but if it snows,the snow removal leaves something to be desired. Summer is a whole different "ball game" no pun intended. Kids running thru the halls at night, most un attended, pizza boxes all over but I blame the parents for not looking after the kids....but hey if you didn't want to be around kids why would you stay here during baseball season? if you are a baseball fan you will definitely love staying here. numerous baseball fields on both sides of the hotel, during the summer they run baseball camps and there are kids and parents everywhere. Right off 95 and close to restaurants and shopping. They have food available and a bar but its sometimes hard to catch up with the person working there. Staff is really nice and rooms are exceptionally clean. The two hotels share some of the facilities..pool and gym so when the hotel is packed you may not get to use them. read more

Every person was respectful, courteous and went out of their way to make you feel welcome. The room was perfect for our family and very well kept. Breakfast was great with plenty of options. Man, this is a sweet hotel! It is right next to the ballparks. The family is staying here all week for my son. The good is a nice clean room with flat screen tvs and a great view of Sr's field. The bad is the morning breakfast is not that good and the bed is one of the worst I have ever TRIED to sleep on. We stayed here for a Ripken tournament, obviously this is THE prime location for that. Ample parking, good food choices, room was clean and, overall, the staff is friendly. I did get some pushback when I asked for a 12.30pm checkout (versus 12p). We were playing offsite at 8am and if we had to play again at 10am, it would not have been possible to get back and checked out by 12. The woman at the front desk gave me the long sigh and '12 is the latest' before granting me a 12:15p checkout. Since we we're checking out on a Sunday, there weren't any teams coming in after us and at the end of the summer, I doubt 15 more minutes would've made a world of difference but I got a compromise if nothing else. If you're coming down for the Ripken Experience or an Ironbirds game, this is the place to stay. We did have a better experience at the nearby Hilton Garden Inn but you have to travel 10 minutes to get to these facilities. read more

I would give them zero stars if I could, I have been a loyal Marriott customer for years (Platinum a titanium for the last couple of years). I have never written a negative review, but I am disappointed in the customer service at this location. Jeff the GM is very unprofessional and disgraceful, and not willing to help in a given situation, my room was smelly from the toilet, noisy and had a wet carpet I do have severe asthma and the room was making my situation worse, they were fully booked and couldn't change my room, I called Marriott customer service they canceled the reservation and booke me to the new property received an email from GM (Jeff) and that he is not going to return my money! The location was neat because it was next to the stadium with a baseball theme, but that is as far as it goes. I had to wait for several minutes to check in because there was no one at the counter. The customer service was unaccomidating and seemed to be bothered by any minor request. The rooms were below average for the cost and the bathroom was dirty. I would not recommend this hotel! There are several other hotels in the area that I will be more than happy to try based on my expereince at the Marriott. read more

Horrible service!!!!! We booked our room several weeks/months before game day and specifically requested a room overlooking the field for 10 year olds. Instead, we ended up with a view of a brick wall across the street opposite the field. We were not the only ones in our party who got taken advantage of. Looks like being a Marriot rewards member means nothing. I'll be staying at other non-Marriot hotels on my business and family trips from now on. As far as the room goes, it is a decent $90 room that you get to pay $190 for. I expect more from Marriot. The manager could have cared less. read more

Have stayed at this location several times. This past week my husband was there for two nights. The breakfast service was wonderful and the people were very gracious and helpful. The rest of the stay was dreadful! Lost orders in the kitchen at night, lousy service, unresponsive management and more. We have been Marriott platinum elite members for years. The hotel is great but if you are here for work the WiFi is impossible to get to stay connected.I felt like I was training IT when I tried to get my Alexa connected. I stayed at the Residence Inn because I was going to be away from home for a long period and working long hours. New, clean, and comfortable. If you can look past the baseball theme this is a decent business hotel. The basic room has an ample desk and work space with access to a printer in the lobby and free internet/WiFi. As a bonus there's a fridge and coin op laundry. While one of the more expensive hotels in the Aberdeen area try Priceline and negotiate a lower stay. I saved $50 off the listed rate. read more

Why does this have to be 2 hotels? The residence side has "suites" with full kitchens but then they provide a buffet breakfast and dinners...but the Courtyard side has hotel rooms with just a small fridge, not even a microwave and no breakfasts are included. The front desk says the lower price at Courtyard offsets the meals but --NOT TRUE--our friends paid 139$ for Residence/meals and we paid 149$ at Courtyard with no meals------makes no sense---, and yes, we were the baseball families with kids running in the hallways. The hotel was very clean, comfortable and staff are very nice, just wished we had the meals included, but would still go back. read more

The Courtyard Aberdeen at Ripken Stadium is not necessarily a five-star hotel in the conventional sense. But I have never been there for conventional business or leisure travel. Instead, I have been there multiple times for weekend-long youth baseball tournaments that take place at the Cal Ripken facility on site. And, in that context, I have to say that the hotel can't be beat. The rooms are obviously extremely convenient to the baseball field, and some even have views overlooking the fields. The hotel staff is highly knowledgeable about the baseball facility, schedules, etc. And they are prepared to accommodate late arrivals and other issues that inevitably happen over the course of a baseball weekend. If you need to grab a quick snack or beverage from the food area next to the front desk, the person at the desk will quickly calculate the amount to charge to your room even if he/she is in the middle of something else and let you get on your way out to the ballfields. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The bar area has plenty of tv's for sports watching, and can accommodate the family crowd as well as adult groups. If you are in Aberdeen for youth baseball (or minor league baseball), the Courtyard is worth the (I believe slightly higher) price tag vs. other nearby hotels. As mentioned at the beginning, it is not a five-star hotel in the conventional sense by any means. The workout area is quite small (but does the trick). The food is geared toward ballpark fare, not gourmet choices. But that's what the clientele is all about, at least on weekends, and Courtyard does well with it. read more

Our entire travel baseball team booked rooms here for a Ripken tournament. The hotel was clean, it offered free Wi-Fi, the kids loved the game room, and it is the most convenient location if you're playing at Ripken. Our room had a comfortable queen size bed with a pull out sleeper loveseat, and a dorm size refrigerator. Our room faced the fields, which was nice. However, we didn't spend much time in the room since we had games. You have to pay 10.00 for the breakfast buffet, there is no breakfast included with the room rate. You can also buy ala carte breakfast items like yogurt, fruit, bagels etc. They also have Starbucks coffee which was perfect for me since I am a fan. The downsides to the hotel are: (1). the rate is too high for the rooms (2.) No breakfast included in the price of your stay and $10.00 per person for breakfast buffet is a lot considering what you pay for the room (3.) the pool is small and can't accommodate many people (4.) $3.00 for a bottle of water from the commissary....really??? Luckily, I brought a case of water with us (5.) The staff at the desk were very stoic and not very helpful or accommodating. I expect more from a Marriot and individuals in Customer Service. We were told by Jessica that check out was 11:00 am, but, other guests from another team were told that it was 12:00 pm. Also, when we checked in, Jessica told us that they do not allow early check in, and; we had to wait until 4:00 pm (6) Only the suites had microwaves in them, the rest of the rooms do not. Our next trip to Ripkin, we are not going to stay here. It's only about an easy 10 minute drive to many other very nice hotels that are a better value, and, they offer continental breakfast. It was convenient staying right at the fields, but; the cons outweigh the pros for this one. read more
