The people were really nice, but the place looks about 15+ years out of date. The location is good, there are plenty of restaurants in the area and it's an easy walking distance to shops and the waterfront. With that said, as someone who lives in the area (I had my parents stay here once and deeply regret it) there's really not much to do without a car. There's shopping and the water, but that's about it. And the low quality is definitely NOT worth the price. read more

My wife and I stayed here on our first visit to Baltimore. The hotel is in a great location just a short walk to the Inner Harbor and Fells Point neighborhoods. We arrived early by train from Washington DC and were glad to be able to check in early at 12:30pm Our room was on the 10th floor, and while we had a view of the buildings across the street, we weren't sure if others could see into our room so we kept the sheer curtains closed for privacy while still letting in light. The room was a little cramped for two people, but since we didn't spend much time in it, it wasn't a big deal. We had breakfast at the hotel cafe once - good food and friendly service. We were also midway through a 2 week trip so were glad to have been able to use the hotel's laundry facility. $4 for a wash and dry, with detergent and quarters available in the lobby. read more

The location of this hotel is great, and all the staff I interacted with were excellent and friendly. But the room itself was just ok. It was outdated and worn out (but I will say it was clean!). The bathroom sink/mirror area is not well lit and isn't laid out that well, and the separate shower/toilet room was dated and in need of a refresh. I liked that it was close to a lot of my favorite spots in Baltimore and I especially enjoyed being able to quickly run to Whole Foods. I would prefer to stay at the Marriott there in that area, but the Courtyard is not a bad back up plan for when that hotel is booked. read more

I stayed two nights at the Courtyard by Marriott for work. The location was absolutely perfect! Nestled in the heart of the newly modernized East Harbor of Baltimore with so many restaurants and shops in walking distance. My room was ready even though I arrived a few hours prior to check in (4 PM). You can add parking to your hotel bill for an extra $2 a day ($28 per day). There's a lovely courtyard on the 4th floor with tables and chairs, trees, flowers and even a pickleball court. They had a Bistro Cafe which I tried for breakfast. My sandwich was good. You can also purchase drinks, snacks and some health and beauty items from the pantry near the front desk. Every staff member I encountered was friendly and helpful. My room was clean, with a king-size bed, couch, desk and frig. But this hotel is in desperate need of a face lift. The style does not match the East Harbor vibe. There was an older style carpet and flower wallpaper. But for the price and location, I would stay here again. read more

My TV didn't work. Tech came up to fix it. My room was not clean, so I asked to be moved to the Waterfront down the street. Didn't want to stay there anymore. Front desk said absolutely not. I told him that I would be leaving and he said okay, he'd note the account. My pillows smelt old and sweaty and there was bio-juice on the side of the bed skirt. This hotel needs to be severely updated. The shower ONLY bathroom was a surprise. My coworker called me an uber and I left that night to go down the street to the Marriot Waterfront. I have photos, but don't see anywhere to post them. They charged me for an entire 3 days stay, even though I was clearly not in the room. Working on having the charges dropped. Pet friendly hotel that doesn't smell like it. My fur baby & I enjoyed our stay on the pet floor. Loved the option to open the sliding door for fresh air. Parking (through spot hero) was seemless. The elevator from the parking garage takes you right into the hotel lobby. No complaints. read more

Listen. Courtyard by Marriott isn't going to be a modernist stunner of a hotel. It's going to be reliable and predictable like an out of town Applebees (shout to the Oriental Chicken Salad which still hits after all these years). That said, I was pleased with our overnight here en route to JH. The man checking us in around midnite at reception was a delight! Their snack bar offerings were awesome and they had some excellent wine choices as well. The room and bathroom were clean though uninspired and I enjoyed the view into the office building next door. Lord the panny has hit businesses hard bc half those office suites were empty smh. I agree with previous posters re: housekeeping. We had a late checkout and a DND sign on the door and housekeeping kept trying it. Breakfast at the Bistro was solid. All in all a good experience, but if I was staying for more than 2 days, I'd opt for a more engaging experience elsewhere. read more

We stayed at the Courtyard for a wedding. We were immediately disappointed because they separated everyone staying for the wedding. We purchased our room at a discount for what I assumed was a wedding block, but it was far from it. We had a rough first night because our neighbors were playing inappropriate music on a speaker. Unfortunately, since we were not with the rest of the wedding party, we shared an internal door with them. We were woken up before 7 AM the day of the wedding because of this. When we spoke with the woman at the front desk, she gave us a credit for breakfast to apologize for the inconvenience. The rooms were a little outdated, and the water temperature was awful! It was either ice cold or scalding hot; there was no in between. Overall, our experience wasn't great. It was a great location, but I plan to try a different hotel next time we visit Inner Harbor. read more

The Courtyard By Marriott - Baltimore crew has 100% mastered what I call the "Nice-Nasty," one of the most underhanded passive-aggressive forms of exercising a hostile disposition towards a guest in an extremely callous way. Their form of hospitality is to kill you softly while throwing you under the bus as a paying guest, and then watching you squirm and suffer. There are too many uncomfortable scenarios for me to list, but I can, for sure, easily bring up the fact that housekeeping knocked on my door several times, though I hung a Do Not Disturb sign on the door's handle. Notwithstanding the fact that I gave the front desk associate a compliment on her natural hair while checking in, and she promptly ignored me, so I had to repeat myself again a little louder a second time because some people's black-hole of a soul is simply unable to accept a compliment. For some, a compliment from another female is literally the antithesis to all that they have ever experienced and known in life as their spirit is so fragmented and torn that they only relate to, and understand, the resting-bitch-face - and so you cannot smile at, nor can you be kind to these types. As they will immediately assume that it is because you have some kind of hidden agenda that involves them somehow. I stayed 3 days. On Day 2 of 3, housekeeping ignored the DO NOT DISTURB sign and knocked once, and then came back again a 2nd time to MAKE SURE that I did in fact ignore her knocking on my door the first time. Perhaps she was a bit confused and, I don't know, maybe the DO NOT DISTURB sign doesn't mean the same thing to her as it does to everyone else. On Day 3 of 3, housekeeping ignored the sign once again and knocked a couple of times throughout the morning, and then finally she just went ahead and barged right in at about 2:00PM. I mean, come on! Really? That is just seriously the worst display of really, really awful operations. I've truly never heard of a housekeeping crew that can't simply honor the DO NOT DISTURB sign. It's there for a reason. I'm convinced that something is wrong with people. But if this was the end, it would be too like right. But it isn't. After finally coming to the door to speak to the housekeeping woman to politely ask her to stop ignoring the door sign, stop knocking, stop barging into my room, I turned around to re-enter my room AND I WAS LOCKED OUT! Believe it or not, the front desk (the same front desk associate whose broken soul won't allow her to accept a compliment) claimed that she did not know that I had paid for a reservation for the night. Fellow travelers, you can't make any of this up. So I had to go down to the front desk with my loungewear on to ask Ms. Attitude to please re-key my card so that I could get back into the room that she claimed she didn't know I had the right to be in at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. Her excuse was that she hadn't checked her email, so therefore, was of the understanding that I was just up in the room squatting all afternoon. Mind you, not one person from the front desk staff bothered to call the room, call my cell, or come to the room to iron out any misunderstandings. Because again, that would have been too like right. No, instead, she decided that she would just lock me out of the room while I was still residing in the room, because that is how customer service works at Courtyard By Marriott Baltimore Inner Harbor. That is the kind of service that you pay for. And since none of this made-up, contrived, malarky makes sense, another front desk gentleman made the decision that, in the moment, it would be a good idea to add that "Our door locks are old and are very sensitive to cell phones!" Wait, what? So which is it? Am I standing in the lobby with my loungewear on, locked out of my room, because my cell phone inadvertently disabled my key? Or is it because Ms. Attitude here hasn't checked her emails all day (at 2 o'clock in the afternoon) to know which guests have reservations at your hotel? Which is it? I mean, none of it made sense, I was basically paying to be mistreated and gaslighted. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this hotel if you are staying in Baltimore. It is not worth the troubles that come along with paying your money to have a convenient place to stay while on vacation. A vacation is meant to be relaxing, not filled with stress and strife. There is also plenty of restaurants nearby to get something to eat for all palettes. Front desk not as friendly and seemed perturbed when I showed up without a government ID. Colors are warm. Great having a bar in lobby. Checkin was fast easy friendly. He found a room with all my criteria. I liked the layout of the room. Room very big with an open area. Beds comfy. Temperature of room easily adjust; a very reactive thermostat Shower good pressure but one of the three mornings water was only warm, not hot. Amenities lacking- no lotion. Towels a little scratchy. Sink outside bathroom felt a little cramped. Overall great location in Baltimore. It's a solid 3.5 star but I'm rounding up. read more

We spent a night here last weekend. The front desk employees were friendly and efficient. Our room and bathroom were very clean. Parking for the night was about $14 after validation. Stayed here for a few days. Me and the the wife needed some time away so we came here to see the zoo, aquarium and some good food. We had a great time overall. We checked in a little early, but I had requested that online so it was not a problem. We had a nice suite that to me was plenty comfortable considering we were not spending a lot of time in the room. We did request also additional blankets and towels which were delivered to the room while we were out. Heat in the room works really well, but it was a really cold night so we are just more comfortable with blankets and the heat set low. My wife also complained that the couch was not really comfortable, but again we were only in the room ta few hours other than sleeping. I felt that the mattress could have been replaced, but again for a few days it was fine. The staff were all really helpful with dining suggestions and directions. It seems the coffee shop had some strange hours. In the morning they were not opened early enough to get coffee before heading out and just seemed everytime we wanted something it was not open not sure what that was about. I guess we could have asked, but we found plenty of places to eat without it. Also was nice to be within walking distance to anything you wanted to do at inner harbor. Just park the car and walk. read more

Mostly this review is about the service. We were blown away by Andrea and Arkea working the front desk during our 3 days stranded in Baltimore due to weather. From the very first phone call Andrea was spectacular at making us feel welcome. She and Arkea continued through out or visit to provide bright smiles and help at every turn. *3.5 Stars* Not your usually priced Courtyard but very nice nonetheless. Located in a great area of Baltimore and down the st from plenty of restaurants, bars and nightlife. Walking distance to Power Plant and Fells Point. It's a great place to stay if you are in Baltimore and don't want to worry about your safety. The check in area is small as well as their eating area. Elevators are a bit slow and they have an elevator that goes to the parking deck so you don't have to be outside for the walk. It's a bit pricey but you are paying for convenience. Their rooms are nice and and clean. Bathrooms are decent size with roomy shower area. Towels are eh. I don't expect much but I also am pleased with my stays at a Courtyard. This one no difference. Now to start off I was using a free night certificate which I waited until the day before it was to expire to use it. What was I thinking? Really didn't have much of a choice. I was a little disappointed when I was informed that the other Marriott that I stayed in before that was a category 4 was now a category 5. However this Marriott that was once a 5 was now a 4. Anyway That was the first of disappointments. Second of all I was informed before I actually booked that this Marriott was going through renovations. Ok............And the pool and exercise room would be closed. So not good for me. Oh and I was also informed that NO King beds were available. So, I had to stay in a room with double beds when I was the only one in the room. So not fun. So, I arrive to the hotel at check in time. The front desk person was very friendly. I checked to see if just by luck they would have the king bed availble but, the didn't. I get my key and off to my room. The room was clean. However when you have stayed at higher category Marriott Hotels this one was disappointing. Don't get me wrong it was clean but, small in space. I felt like I was turning around in a box. I couldn't just stay in the room and relax like I had plan. I had to get out. I did like that there was not a lot of in going and out going traffic going on to the hotel. I returned when it was time to go to bed. I slept well because the Marriott mattress is the best. Woke up on time just as I planned. Because they were doing renovations they did offer a complimentary breakfast in which they don't normally offer. This room too was also small. Everything felt so compact to be a Marriott Hotel. I was glad to have good choices available to eat for my healthy choice of eating. Grapefruit, hot tea, Special K with splenda,water and skim milk. The eating area was clean also and the attendant in that room was very friendly also. I checked out this morning right after breakfast so that I could head out to work. Check out was pretty easy. I was gonna purchase a yogurt but, the person at the front desk said that yogurt was availble in the dining area complimentary. However, I took the yogurt with me but, when I went to open it when I got to work I found that the yogurt had expired. This was not a terrible experience at the Marriott However, I have to say that If I had paid to stay the night here I would not have been satisfied considering the Marriott's high standards. read more

don't let the fancy "face-lifted" lobby and hotel exterior fool you. though the rooms were extremely clean, for the most part, quiet, and comfortable, the showers reminded me of a community pool gym standing shower with NO tubs. tiled like it's my grandma's 1970's home. the towels? never seen anything so worn and washed, to the point that some parts of the towels are SEE THROUGH and missing threading! what! courtyard does a lot of business traveler's business, all the guests we've encountered all seemed to be on business. anyways, here's a quick low-down: the good: 1) location: you can't go wrong with inner harbor, i much preferred staying here than the last hotel i was in... it felt safe all the time, and plenty of really great walk-able shops and restaurants. 2) parking: unlimited in an out garage parking for $22(?). reasonably enough, and easy access with the garage elevator. we never had issues finding spots. 3) bistro: quality's not bad, price was reasonable enough for grab and go breakfast. 4) cleanliness: comfortable, clean. the bad: 1) condition: again, that standing shower that looks like the local ymca's locker showers. the horror. 2) no breakfast: no breakfast included like other budget hotels. 3) thin walls: i thought noise levels were under control until i heard my next door neighbor coughing like they had pneumonia... so do bring some earplugs. 4) toiletries: paul mitchell small dinky sized stuff. best to bring your own. in baltimore, safety first. so i guess better safe than nothing! but this is one of the more "aged" courtyard's i've stayed at... read more

Meh. Great location. The fellow who checked us in was super pleasant. The bed was the usual awesome Marriott bed. The soap was surprisingly good. That's all I can say positive about this pedestrian craphole. I'm lifetime platinum. I used the ap to check in a day in advance. My preferences on my profile were entirely ignored. I like extra towels and pillows. Despite having a full 24 hours to prep for our arrival, I got neither. I'm supposed to be eligible for room upgrades. What I got was a crappy room with worn furniture right next to the elevator so I could listen to the elevator dinging all night and the loud drunken conversation of every idiot guest who staggered off the elevator all night long. Pretty much this is the Motel 6 of Marriotts. I hated it. It spoiled the enjoyment of my weekend. Bottom line - there are a ton of other Marriott properties in this neighborhood. Don't make the mistake of staying here. read more

My family and I had the pleasure of staying here this past weekend while we took our daughter to Port Discovery, the Aquarium, and the many great restaurants in the area. Despite arriving early on a Saturday morning, the nice lady at the front desk (unfortunately, I did not get her name but she had cool red glasses) was able to find us a room right away. She was incredibly helpful by showing us where the parking garage was and offered to answer any concierge related questions. While we had a minor issue in the room over night, Asst. GM Andrea Carter and the same lady at the front desk provided amazing customer service the next morning and quickly made up for our frustrations. In addition to the great management and staff, parking was simple, the hotel and room were clean, the location is great, the roof deck by the pool is nice, and the whole experience was great overall. We recommend staying here and will certainly be back again. Many thanks again to the management and staff. read more

A nice location away from the inner harbor insanity. It's close to a lot of stores and restaurants. The staff at the front desk was helpful and pleasant. The temperature in the room was perfect. The hotel room was large with a great sitting area and bed in a separate area. The street noise is still pretty loud on high floors. Parking is in a lot next door but there is an elevator that takes you right into the lobby. There's a nice Whole Foods around the corner. Convenience is the key. read more

We stayed here in April while we were in town for a conference. First of all, the positives: GREAT location. Walking distance to shopping and restaurants, close-by parking, etc. Good food options in the actual Marriott itself, which we utlized since we were starving and it was too early for dinner :-) Great service, minues the incident below. The negative, which brought this down 3 stars: I wasn't aware we booked a DJ for our club. I mean our hotel room. I'm sure our neighbors had a great time, but we did not. Pretty sure our walls were actually thumping. We called the front desk to handle the problem multiple times, which was really disappointing. I agree with the previous reviewer. I've been to some bordering on luxurious Courtyards, but this is not one of them. I picked this place for the value and location, which is very good--smack dab in Harbor East (lots of great eats, movie theater), easy walk to Fells and the Inner Harbor. If you want to really enjoy your accomodations, go further in towards the other Marriott or the Renaissance. But if you want to be able to enjoy everything else around you, this should do. The front desk staff was a bit busy, which was slightly annoying (had to stand and wait for check-in while the staff was manning the phones, which kept ringing). The room was standard and clean. Nothing luxurious. There was even a little cube fridge, which is nice if you're staying around. The parking is $23 a day, but you can go in and out w/your room card. read more

Stayed in this Courtyard for a couple of nights while in Baltimore for a weekend away. The hotel is one where it's part of an overall building that also encompasses stores, offices and a parking garage. Personally I prefer my hotels to be just hotels and not mixed use. The Room was pretty average, nothing bad but certainly nothing great and the price was ok. The location is very good, it's just off the Inner Harbor and walking distance from Fells Point. All in all it was an OK hotel experience. Although I will probably try one of the other hotels in the area next time to see if I can do better. read more

Stayed here for a recent Saturday & Sunday night. A little pricey, but the area is worth it. Walking distance to the inner harbor or fells point! Pros: The lobby is very pretty, functional & modern. The bed was amazingly comfortable. Small, but very efficient. A ton of HBO channels. Paul Mitchell bath products. Cons: No fridge or micro. I don't know if this is standard for Courtyards, but I definitely missed them. The inly big issue happened on the day I was checking out. I locked myself out of my room, and had left my wallet in the car. The guy at the front desk required me to show ID to have a new key made. I've NEVER experienced this before. I offered him my business card, and to recite ANY information associated with the account, but he wouldn't budge. I had to walk all the way back to my car to get ID. read more

I've stayed at the Courtyard Inner Harbor multiple times and found it to be reasonable accommodations. You can't beat the location which is in the Inner Harbor East (much better than the other side with the ballpark). And the front desk staff is incredibly helpful, friendly, and efficient. The lobby is modern and well maintained while the rooms could certainly be updated. I've found a number of things that maintenance has missed, such as sink or tub stoppers not working and the wifi going out on a regular basis. The beds are of average comfort. And the design of the bathrooms is rather odd: there's a tiny sink area in its own niche with a separately laid out cramped tub/toilet room. The bathrooms could certainly be updated since the tile is old and the wall in the shower stall has a plastic lining. The rooms are fairly small and the furniture (night table, desk, couch/chair) are worn down. As a FYI, the Courtyard doesn't have a restaurant - there is a cafe in the lobby that does simple things. On the positive side, however, the hotel has an arrangement with the MAC (Maryland Athletic Center) around the corner to use their gym. That was the make-or-break decision for me. If I could give the Courtyard Inner Harbor a half star, I would have awarded the hotel 3.5 stars. It's an average hotel with a great location, great front desk staff, and a great gym option. read more

This was a really nice hotel in an excellent location. I really enjoyed that is connected to a Whole Foods by a parking deck which was very convenient! I am also a fan of the market downstairs so I could stock up on drinks to put in my refrigerator. The person checking me in at the front desk was very pleasant and accommodating. Within walking distance to SEVERAL food places which is always a plus and the parking charge for overnight wasn't a deal breaker as it was at the actual Marriott down the street. Just stayed one night and my favorite thing about the hotel was the location. Walking distance to the Harbor and Fells Point. Had a Whole Foods in the same complex. A nice location to stumble back from Fells Point. Clean hotel, most of the staff was friendly. A nice area where they have computers for surfing the Internet but I really don't use them, never log into your email or facebook or anything else for that matter. You never know what someone has put on them. My only issue was our room was right near the elevator, we heard everyone getting on and off all night long. The room next to ours had an issue with the door some they had someone drilling at 10:30 at night fixing it. read more

As most of the folks here will tell you, there's nothing super special about this Courtyard, but there's really nothing bad about it, either. If you frequent Courtyard's you're probably familiar with this place already. The rooms are nice, new, and clean. The location is great. There are plenty of restaurants and shops around to walk to. The restaurant is typical Courtyard. I ate breakfast one day. Nothing to write home about. It might be more beneficial to head over to the Whole Foods and pick something up there.... Parking is a bit expensive in the garage, and they have no valet. Often the key they give you doesn't work the garage anyway.... The staff is friendly and helpful. No complaints here! I've also stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn around the corner, and for the price, that may be a better bet. Plus it's connected to the MAC, so you can walk right over to the gym. But if you're tied to Marriott rewards, this will do the trick just fine. read more
