Dates of stay: Columbus Day weekend 2022 Firstly- this is not in Boston. Boston is about 30- 40 minutes away depending on traffic so if you really want to be downtown and checking out the State House/Freedom Trail/MFA or anything quintessentially Boston- this is not the location. Interior: Hotel is clean and quiet. There were a lot of people at the hotel this weekend due to a myriad of events. From what my eavesdropping discovered there were women's athletics events, leaf peepers and persons in town for weddings (like me). I didn't feel overwhelmed or crowded despite this place being full occupancy the whole weekend. The area where they have computers isn't that great- you can't even use zoom so you're better off bringing your own laptop if you have web based meetings. There is a printer if that's enticing! This hotel is pet friendly- I saw dogs of all sizes here. All were super quiet which is great and the place didn't reek of dirty dog which is great. If I hadn't noticed people walking their dogs I wouldn't had known pets could be brought here. Exterior: The road that leads to the hotel is very dark at night! If you get here after 10pm you will likely have to park at the lot in the back of the hotel which is massive. The property is what is to be expected of a Courtyard- nothing fancy but definitely not a hole in the wall. Room: My room was great. The bed was very comfortable and now my husband wants to get the same bed in our house! The room was not huge but it was fine for the two of us. The AC works very well (too damn well for my liking) so it makes for a nice crisp New England night inside your room (while you snuggle under the down comforter). The rooms only get cleaned upon request so if that is important to you keep that in mind. The water pressure is spectacular as is the temperature of the hot water!! The water is also filtered so no extra chlorine or other toxins sneaking into your shower water! Minor critique/observation- if you need the bathroom mirror to defog fast because you're in a hurry this may be an issue. The mirror took forever to defog and there's no vent to suck out the steam. Opening the door didn't help much at all! Like I said this is minor- you may be one of the beautiful people who never needs a mirror and just "wakes up like this"... Cost: The cost was one of the cheaper options and I needed something super close within Billerica so it was perfect. Note that they don't charge your card until you get to the hotel. Staff: This is where my biggest gripe is. I called during the days before my stay to speak with the front desk due to wanting to flag that I would be arriving very late and most importantly not to give my room away. Despite just numerous efforts no one ever picked up the front desk phone. I had to go through the main reservations number for Marriott for them to put a note in the account. It was very frustrating- even they couldn't get anyone from the Billerica hotel to pick up the phone. When I got to the hotel the person at the desk was pleasant and everything went off without a hitch. I would say this isn't the type of hotel where you just see a person sitting at the front desk- they're in the room adjoining the front desk and you have to signal to them or wait for them to appear. The people who worked at the deceptively named Bistro were all very nice. Note that the Bistro is only open in the morning, does not have a kitchen and serves Starbucks coffee and other products. Overall: If I had to stay in this area for some reason again, I'd chose this hotel. read more

Title: Do not assume an accessible-room request has been handled We have used this Courtyard because it is convenient for visiting family in Billerica. The location is good, and we have always had positive experiences with the café and its staff. Unfortunately, our latest stays showed a serious weakness in the hotel's handling of accessibility needs and guest-service follow-up. My wife has Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease and significant mobility limitations. For her, an accessible shower--not a tub--is a necessity. She also needs a room setup that allows her to get safely on and off the bed and toilet. We requested an accessible room through Marriott when making our reservation. Before we arrived, our daughter went to the hotel to confirm that the room would be suitable. She was told that the hotel has more than one kind of accessible room, including a room with a tub and a room with an accessible shower. More troubling, she learned that an ADA room had not yet been assigned to us at that point. The appropriate room was assigned only after she made that visit. Although we ultimately received a room with a shower, it still did not work well for my wife's needs. The bed and toilet were too low for her to use safely without assistance. The shower light/fan was not working, and the television remote would turn the television on but could not change channels or control the volume. We reported those problems at checkout. There was also confusion over 20,000 Marriott eBonus points. We tried to use the points when booking and were told by Marriott's reservation agent that the matter required a code and would need to be handled by the hotel manager. We were told the same thing again before arrival. When we arrived and asked for the manager, however, we were told she was unexpectedly unavailable for the remainder of our stay. The most frustrating part has been the response afterward. We contacted both the hotel and Marriott Customer Care, explained the circumstances in detail, and asked for fair compensation. The replies acknowledged the concerns but did not offer any resolution. The hotel said it could not retroactively turn a paid stay into a points stay, even though we were asking for practical compensation for the inability to use the points as we had tried to do at booking, along with the accessibility and maintenance issues. Accessible travel already requires advance planning. Guests should not have to send a family member to a hotel in person to verify whether an appropriate room has even been assigned, and they should not have to chase multiple Marriott departments afterward just to receive a straightforward response. We hope the hotel improves its process for confirming the specific accessible features a guest needs and gives its managers the authority to resolve problems when that process fails. read more

I stayed at this hotel July 1st-7th. My car was hit in the parking lot. I've been told by the person at the front desk that there were no cameras in the parking area only in the back for the staff and therefore they have no responsibility for the accident. I was also told that the hotel manager would be in touch the next day, that would've been 7/8. It's 7/11 and I've heard nothing. Aside from the damage to my brand new car that didn't even have 6,000 miles, as a woman traveling by herself, the idea there isn't any security in the guest parking area is disturbing. Just plain yucky. I stayed here a few years ago and had a similar experience with cleanliness and comfort but I decided to stay again since it was advertised to be recently renovated. My trash wasn't emptied from the previous guest and I didn't notice until I was getting into bed. Then I saw hair on top of my bed. The shower didn't get hot only lukewarm, the climate control was not operating correctly, it was so loud and would either only blast heat or ice cold air so it was nearly impossible to feel comfortable. Maybe my room was a dud but then I got up in the morning and went down to the Starbucks and the woman at the front desk only looked at me and did not greet me so I'm feeling like the entire staff is just lacking motivation to provide hospitality. Expensive stay for a cheap and dirty experience. Go somewhere else, I will. read more

The rooms are beautiful and clean. The hotel is like located almost at the end of this quite road. Parking is abundant and free. The hotel has no free breakfast but there's a restaurant. They serve Starbucks limited coffee and this sweet girl made a grande latte for me free of charge simply because I was waiting around for someone to be available at the counter. I did offer to pay my total but she kindly declined and said "please don't worry it's on me". Luckily I had a Priceline deal for this place which worked out perfectly fine. Checking in and checking out was easy. The room was modernized and most importantly it was clean. I had stayed there for 1 night. My only complaint is the walls are thin as I can hear the kids next door talking therefore I had to turn the tv on loud enough to block their voices. Otherwise I have no other complaints for this place. read more

Nice hotel for the price. We were there with our cheerleading team for a competition in Lowell. The room was clean and standard. Bathroom was nice, but very weak water pressure in the shower. The bar/cafe was very expensive. They had a breakfast buffet for $13.95 per adult which consisted of a normal buffet you would usually get for free at other hotels. There was a strong smell of marijuana in the hallway and the hotel didn't do anything about it when we all complained. I would chose a different hotel if we are in the area again. read more

Stayed at this Courtyard as it was right next to where I need to be for work. Room: Actually pretty quiet even though I could see the highway. I've stayed at a lot of hotels where they have been by a highway, so I know how loud they can be. Surprisingly, this Courtyard was very quiet. I was on the 7th floor, so that may have helped, but I couldn't hear people above me or next to me at all. The week prior, I stayed at a hotel where could hear everything, so I was pretty happy how quiet it was. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was fine. It could use some updating, but it met my needs for the week. The closet is pretty small, but for one person for a few days, it's perfect. There is a mini fridge and coffee maker, but I didn't use those. The bathroom only had a towel bar over the toilet, so it would be nice to have a larger one elsewhere (but there really isn't room for one). Internet: No issues at all connecting and speed was good for work. Food: I got dinner to go from the Bistro a couple nights and the food was actually pretty good. One night, I had grilled cheese and tomato soup and that was a very good portion size and hit the spot. Another night, I had the pasta, but I added some chicken. That was OK. One night I ordered at the bistro and it didn't take too long to get my food. Another night I called the front desk and ordered and they estimated it would be ready in about 20 minutes. I went down there maybe 15 minutes after I called and didn't have to wait long for my food. I did get a call from the front desk maybe 30 minutes after I had already gotten my food and eaten most of it to let me know that my food was ready...so there was a miscommunication somewhere down there, but at least I know that if I didn't get my food, they'd let me know! Note: Lunch is not offered, only breakfast and dinner, so be sure to get lunch somewhere else! They do have a few food menus that you can order delivery from (a sushi place, Italian, Pizza). Staff: The staff here were all very friendly and accommodating. My coworker and I didn't realize that they didn't serve lunch, but I had a meeting that I had to take in my room, so I just was planning on skipping lunch and my coworker would just grab a snack or something. Well, when I came downstairs to head back to the office, I was pleasantly surprised with a sandwich. The staff went out of their way to make us sandwiches (and it was a really good chicken and bacon sandwich) without us asking. That is great service there! I also was able to get late checkout without any issues. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with my stay at this Courtyard because of the staff. I've been coming here a couple of years now because my companies in the industrial park next-door and really like this place, especially the bar!!! Patty is a hoot and recognizes you every time you come even if it's been a year and the barfood is to me about par. Monday night I actually got a lobster roll because everybody else was late arriving and it was really really good.!! The rooms are also clean and the staff is always friendly and there is a small shop to get sundries and snacks if you need them. Good value excellent staff. read more

I have stayed in this specific Courtyard for years. It has gone way downhill. Definitely needs an upgrade or deep clean. Carpet in room was dirty. Fan in bathroom didn't work. Toilet water kept running. No ice in ice maker for entire 5 dat stay. Rooms are not cleaned and towels replaced unless requested. Even when we did request it still was not done. No more hot water, coffee and tea or breakfast in the lobby. Only at Starbucks which is only open in the AM. I felt like I was staying in a one star hotel but paying 5 star prices. I visit this area often. We will be looking for a new place to stay. read more

Have you ever been disabled? What if you were, and had to depend upon a wheelchair or electrical scooter maybe even a electrical wheelchair. Now considered that both of you are disabled. She doesn't use any equipment, but hobbles around after a knee surgery gone bad. So she rented this room, because this hotel has an indoor swimming pool. Ask me how many times she has used this pool? Anyway we roll into the hotel late on a Wednesday nite. Now imagine me with a rollator, and about 6 different large and heavy pieces of luggage, coming into a small about 300 sq ft room with two Queen sized beds, a cabinet, and a desk combination. As I rolled into the room I got the rollator caught in the small area that they provided in this "disabled" room. There isn't much more to say as you are not disabled; and neither is the guy who designed this room. Personally I don't think that they did anything that made this a disabled room, except to stick a wheelchair disability sticker on the wall beside the room door. So if you are disabled avoid this hotel like the plague. The disabled room room, also had a standard toilet that I plugged up in short order. When I went to call the desk the phone didn't work. It worked a few days earlier. Why not now when I needed it now. Two women arrived at the room and plunged the toilet. I had complained the day before. Why nothing was done right I don't know. I use a urinal and needed to empty it often. After another bowel movement I was thankful that I requested the women leave the toilet plunger as I needed it again. The air conditioner in this room was epic. I think they will use it to help create the next Ice Age. However was right next to the bed I choose. It was so frigen cold I regretted that decision the entire week I was there. There is no way to direct the cold air up or down. It only blows on me me me. So to conclude this long, irritating review I would hope that the Americans for Disability Association reads this review and boycotts Courtyard Marriott Hotels. read more

This Marriott is Three Stars "A-Okay" and we would certainly consider coming back. It's just... there wasn't anything memorable about staying here. The rooms were very nicely furnished and the staff very friendly as you would expect. We were here for a week long conference and found the food options somewhat pricey. Our simple continental breakfast ran us over $11 each. It did however provided us with just the right incentive to explore the surrounding New England towns. Something I would highly recommend! There is nothing within walking distance -Tourists- Be advised, there are tour groups that use this hotel as a stopping point. It can get extremely crowded with their buses and if you arrive at the wrong time, a wait for the elevators. -Rack Rates- yes, they are cheaper than downtown, but they can get extremely high as they will high capacity most Weeknights - Noise- paper thin walls. Depending on your neighbor, you might here them snoring or talking on their phones - Bistro- this place gets backed and the workers will get flustered. - Microwaves- for whatever reason, they don't have these in the rooms. There is one in the Marketplace, and you can expect to wait in line to use at times -Trash cans- there isn't one for whatever reason in the lobby or outside the door **Tip** Watch out for the second entry door. Just like every other Courtyard Marriott I've been to. Nothing extraordinary, but it gets me through my business travels. The free wifi is a little bit better than some of the others I've stayed at, and it beats having to shell out the extra $12/day for internet access at the full service Marriott. A lot of tourist buses come by this area, probably because it's cheaper than somewhere in the city. I've been running into a lot of Chinese tourists here! Gym has got 2 treadmills, a stepmaster, like one machine, and some free weights. Pool room is indoors, but the room isn't temperature controlled. Only downside is that if you're in Billerica, there's not much for food here. I'd suggest staying down by Burlington if possible. read more

I am a Courtyard fanatic and this has a good feel to the location, the rooms, cafe area and business center. The remodel doesn't appear too much in the past. Everything looks new and fresh. When I am in town, I usually am out the door at 5;30am and the cafe doesn't open until 6:00am, so I didn't get to experience the cafe. But it was always full in the evening. For good reason this hotel has only two stars. Even for business travel it is one of the most poorly managed properties. I'm brand loyal with Marriott and former Starwood and this is one of those times I'm tempted to refrain from such loyalty. The entire hotel is cold. Elevators must have been built external - you can hang meat. The rooms are equally the same unless you wish to crank up those wall units that are barely optimal. I thought about taking the stairs (6th floor) only to find I was literally outside. It's actually an outside staircase. As I write I sit in their Bistro, which had no one on staff until after 5pm. Once ordered I was told proactively they were running 15 minutes. It's been now 30+ minutes. I count 15 total people and many of these arrived long after I. I cannot imagine how long they will wait. Sorry to say I have another day here. I guess it time to find a place to eat outside tomorrow and avoid coming back until I am ready to sleep. Rick Update: I ended up waiting more than 50 minutes for my food. After mine was delivered the man next me went to the counter and 5 minutes later he received his. Get this - one hour wait for a bowl of soup. And more.....I sit doing work and notice a huge insect on the table, which I then had to swat. read more

Stayed one night and it was super comfortable. Great front desk staff and rooms were extremely clean.

The hotel itself could use a major facelift. While the lobby was nice, the rest of the hotel, including the fitness center needs an overhaul. Dumbbells were missing, sanitizing wipes were missing and the fitness center was very hot with no circulating air. The rooms were also very basic. I was also very disappointed to learn that everything costs extra money--even bottled water and coffee. And breakfast sandwiches were 8.50. Just seems like a ripoff. Yet the rate was good so I toughed it out. On a positive note, the night manager (I don't know her name) was extremely friendly and helpful. She resolved an issue I had with the first room (the toilet was backed from a previous person). She also greeted me by name each time she saw me. She was the main reason I decided to stay. I don't know what the managers do for their staff training here, but everyone is extremely helpful and friendly. Kudos. I stay at Marriott brands almost exclusively, and I usually don't like Courtyard much, but this is the exception. The bar and restaurant also give great service. The location is in an industrial area, so not much choice for walking around, but you'll like the selection at the bar/restaurant if you're just there a couple of nights. The facility is very clean, and they have nice touches like infused water in the lobby. Looking forward to staying here again, a couple of times a year. read more

I've never written a bad review before, but this time I'll write. I am not very happy with this hotel, be careful, they are charging after your departure for nothing. I received a charge that I and my husband was smoking in the room, they said that we stayed after the checkout and smoked. It is impossible to believe it, my husband and me did not smoke and don't smoke at all !!!! Yesterday I called to the front desk to find out what was going on, they were very rude and told me call to the manager, who was no longer there, but still one of the employees managed to talk. I asked him how I could be in the room if I had a flight to Chicago at 6:30 am, my husband took me to the airport at 4 am, I said I could show them this flight confirmation, and my husband made a checkout at 10 am. Then I asked why they were talking to us without evidence, I asked to see the camera recordings that are in the hotel when my husband left the hotel, as well as the recordings of the parking cameras when he got in the car and left, I also told them what car we had . Then they said maybe it was someone else smoking in the room. Really??? Deal with your own and employees. Yesterday they apologized and returned the money. Today I checked the card, and they charged me again. It is impossible to believe it !!!! I called them and I managed to talk to the manager, after which he said that they would return the money. Why should I spend my time and find out with them for two days ???? I got stressed on being told slander, what kind of custom service is there ??? Great staff, very clean and updated room, great sleep and affordable breakfast = happy guest. We were greeted by an over-worked, but still very cheerful staff member when we showed up around midnight to check-in. She had been working 7 days that week, and was still delightful. The bed was very comfortable and the room was one of the nicer ones we've stayed at--it was great. Price was just right, we got it for $82/night from Hotels.com. I wish they included breakfast, but for $12/person for a hot breakfast buffet, I was fine with that. Would def stay there again, if I had to be in the area. read more

I travel often and have stayed at Courtyard Bellerica Boston about 100 times over the past year. The accommodations are tremendous and the staff is truly the best. Recently my plans changed abruptly, I called Courtyard and talked with Kelly at 4:30am and was able to have a room that evening. This is service that makes guest not even look at another hotel. I just stayed 3 nights at this location. The first morning there was black water from the shower that lasted for over 20 minutes until it cleared, leaving me with sludge on the floor of the shower. The next day, my room keys didn't work twice. The second time, there was nobody at the front desk for 30 minutes, so I had no access! The TV would not turn off one night and had to deal with the light of the TV while trying to sleep. Finally, they emailed my receipt to a random email address. I do not recommend staying here. I chose this hotel because of the very good reviews , i felt it is really clean and great when I first walked in to the hotel. But, something really bad happened to me, I was bit by the bed bug. I was awake by the serious itchy feeling. I was so scared to go back to my bed and didn't sleep for all night long. I went to the front desk and request to see the manager but she just told me to wait or she can change the room for me. I went out for a day. However, they told me they can switch me to another room when I got back to the hotel. My neck was bit by the bed bug. It was getting worst wherever I was bitten. Feel so bad. So, I told the front desk that i need to see their manager and they said that the manager wasn't there. Later, they promised to call me in a week for compensation. So far I didnt get any phone call from the manager and it has been two weeks. Feel so disappointed. read more

It's an OK hotel, but there are some issues. The pros: The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean and have wonderful beds, there's plenty of parking, it's quiet, a mini bar/restaurant open until 10PM, and a pantry to buy snacks in the lobby. The cons: It's in the middle of nowhere. If you're travelling here without a car, you should seriously reconsider. The only thing within walking distance is an office park. No stores, no restaurants, nothing. With that in mind, the 'bistro' and pantry on property are overpriced (8ish chicken wings for $11, after taxes) You're paying for the convenience, I suppose, but when there aren't any other options for food available nearby, it feels a bit unscrupulous. The room does not have a microwave (but there is a mini fridge.) I thought in this day and age, pretty much every mid-range hotel had a microwave in room. Hell, even Red Roof Inn has microwaves in-room, but not Courtyard (which I considered a nicer hotel.) Also, the lighting in the room is not good. Especially in the bathroom, there's either a dim nightlight that barely allows you to see the toilet, or an obnoxious assemblage of garish fluorescent bulbs glaring down on you. A bit difficult to unwind in the tub when you feel like you're in a doctor's office. Another odd annoyance: The pool has an attendant on duty who will literally watch you swim. Not a lifeguard (they were not in a bathing suit) but merely someone who works there. And, again, the screaming fluorescent lights make relaxing very difficult. The pool was also insufficiently heated, kind of a must in late November in New England. When you add in a stranger watching you like a hawk, it makes the amenity of having a pool virtually irrelevant. Bottom line: I would not stay here again. Pricewise, there are comparable options nearby which have nicer amenities and a better overall experience. I paid $80 after taxes to stay here and felt it was a mediocre (at best) value. read more

Yes it is a courtyard. So we pretty much know what to expect. The breakfast buffet at this one isn't as good as some. The waffle maker looks too well used and borderline dangerous becaus eof the loose parts. Somehow waffly fingers aren't appealing to me. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Love that attitude. Pillows - well they are a problem, they are polyester and I much prefer feathers. Of course feathers can be allergenic, so this is thye safe - but uncomfortable option. The a/c - well pretty much all hotels at this price point have noisy a/c. So that inhibits sleeping. Still it does the job. read more

The hotel itself was very nice. I was nervous because I booked on priceline with the "secret price" option where they don't tell you the hotel until after you book but I was pleasantly surprised. The reason for two stars is because I was charged THREE times for this stay. I was charged by priceline to book it, which was what I expected. Then I was reviewing my credit card statement (I hope you all do this frequently!!) and saw a $40 and a $180 charge. I called and was told the $40 was for incidentals which should come off but the $180 was an accidental double charge and it would come off. Later that night I checked and the $180 did come off but now there was a third charge of $178! I called and was told the sales manager would call me the next morning. No one called. I called and was told there were no charges on the account and everything was refunded so it should come off. So I waited since the charges were "pending." When I looked today the $178 was officially posted to my account and had NOT come off like it was supposed to. I called again and the woman didn't see what I was talking about. I had to call my bank to dispute the charge. I still have not heard from any management regarding this. Word to the wise: check your credit card statements! I almost missed this b/c I saw "Courtyard by Marriott" and thought "Oh, that's just the hotel, that's fine and then I realized that I actually paid Priceline directly (NOT Marriott) earlier in the week. read more

Rooms were big enough for the typical hotel but outdated decor. The gym was OK again for a hotel. Great location if you are working around the industrial complex. **LICE** this hotel is disgusting. Rooms are not cleaned adequately in between guests. Don't take my word for it.....just check your pillows and sheets very carefully and see for yourself. The entire premises inside smells of mildew, the staff is incompetent and completely unhelpful. Did I mention the LICE in the bed? Seems worth mentioning more than once. Cons: Noise is a big issue at this hotel. The floor we stayed on (4) was loud on a Sat night, with people literally yelling, laughing, stomping & knocking around in the hallway past 12 midnight. Also the walls are paper thin. You can hear conversations in rooms next to you like they're right in your room. We had to be up by 3 to make an early flight out of Boston & we were kept up from all of the noise. Front service at check in was not friendly, borderline rude. That's always annoying. Pros: This hotel was a lot better looking/feeling then some that were more expensive in the area we've stayed in. This was the first hotel that had a room that looked similar as the lobby. The updates & decor look genuinely nice, not cheap or sparing on functionality. Bathroom updates, cozy room, parking was plentiful. There's lots of accommodations available, but we only stayed one night & ate out so we didn't need to use any. Overall, I would recommend if you get for a good deal with the expectation of some-moderate noise. read more

The front desk staff, the house keeping staff, and the dining staff are some of the loveliest folks one can ever meet. Whenever there is an issue, they make good efforts to resolve them. They have a small pool, but nonetheless have one. Their gyms, like the pool, provide towels. The rooms are alright. The breakfast comes with an additional charge, but it has quite a selection. I can't believe it took me so long to write this review. Simply though, I forgot. Last year when we had the ice storm I was without power for quite some time. Around 3pm the 2nd day I pulled the trigger & started looking for a warm place to stay. This was the closest room around & its my understanding I might have gotten the last room. This place was packed but they held the room for me until I could get there. It seemed more like a disaster shelter with so many guests. I watched many walk in & walk out after being told there were no more rooms. It was almost surreal The hotel staff, many of which had been working for over 24 hours, continued to be friendly & helpful. The small restaurant could not handle the amount of diners with the regular menu so they did a buffet. Very clever. The rooms surprisingly very nice and well kept. King size bed, big plasma TV's in the rooms. Very clean. I think the room rate was under $100.00. Very happy with the stay. read more

this hotel is out of date. I went there for a breakfast with clients. I saw mold in the juice machine while the buffet lady was changing juice package. I was In shock. Silverware, coffee cups, and plates weren't cleaned. I don't know how this hotel passed through inspections. Cantaloupe and honey dew seem to mix together from old one and new one because I could taste sour from the bottom with slimy and sweet from the top. I wouldn't crazy about those two because the only thing seems to have high turn volume was strawberries. It's guarantee freshness. read more

Attended a training here, and loved the place. Great catering for breakfast and snack, the front desk lady was beyond helpful and friendly, and there are 2 computers with free internet in the lobby, not to mention cozy couches and a fireplace. read more
