This is an amazing hotel with amazing people who work here. This is our second time visiting this hotel and the experience was the same incredible. From the moment you check in you are treated so kind and it never changes. They give you a bag with complimentary water and a snack. You also receive a complimentary coupon for breakfast! You will meet Emmanuella (Emma) and Latoya who treat you like you're a guest at their home. They are very accommodating, kind, funny and beautiful!! For example I didn't know when breakfast ended, they were done serving but they still took care of my husband and I. They whole time talking with me about different topics. Making me feel very welcome. We also were checked out by Delcina (Del) who was also very personable. We had some credits with Mariott and she took the time to make sure we understood how those credits were used. She made sure we understood by answering all our questions. An establishment is only as good as the people who represent it. These ladies make this hotel a 5 star!! Not to mention the cleanliness of the hotel. When we were leaving someone, we didn't get her name but she was cleaning spots off the wall in the hallway. She was also very friendly. My husband spoke to her in the only Spanish he knew and she responded with full sentences but he didn't understand! we just know she was smiling so she had to say something nice. read more

Just checked in and the front desk welcomed me as if I were an old friend. The staff were very friendly. I was here on business a year ago and one front desk staff remembered me because I'm allergic to duck feathers. It's always nice to feel at home while your traveling. I have stayed at this place before and it's pretty centrally located as well as it's in pretty good shape for an older hotel as it is well-kept up and the rooms are very clean- for some reason every time I go there there is five basketball or baseball teams, checked into the hotel, high school mostly, and sometimes they can get a little rowdy. I checked in late last night, and Brianna who is the MOD and her assistant, or fantastic in finding me a very nice room, that was far away from all the above. Hotel staff was very friendly and efficient. We had a slight issue regarding people above us, obviously had children jumping around, finally made a call and someone must have contacted them. On the downside, there was only one towel setup in the room, and the lobby and hallways had an overwhelming perfumy smell, very very strong. Wife had an allergic reaction to it. I wish I had more time at this Courtyard Marriott. But alas, I had to head back home and the end of my vacation. First order of business: the hotel is visually stunning for the price bracket. Upon entering the first floor, you will find the hotel lounges and mini restaurant, which offers various menu items and also beer and wine. The Bistro also sells Starbucks coffee. *Note: The hotel is smoke-free and has adopted a number of sustainability practices to drive down utility costs. Bonus! Also, the hotel does not allow pets, but I'll help you find accommodations for your pet if you need. Toward the back is the small business Center, which is simply a couple of desktop computers and printers. They do offer another computer for printing boarding tickets, which is pretty sweet. There's even a little enclave -- balled The Market -- for purchasing items for your room. Chips, crackers, protein bars and even bottles of wine. The hotel also has an outdoor swimming pool that is just over 5 feet deep. The Jacuzzi is kept indoors just off the swimming pool area. By the way, the swimming pool is enclosed by a gate and located near a community area where there is a barbecue pit. Also pretty sweet. I love that its Jacuzzi is indoors. As it is heated pretty well and kept to adequate levels. Exercise room is underwhelming. There are a couple of exercise machines and some free weights, but that's about all. The fitness center is open 24 hours and the pool is open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Now to the room. We went to the king suite with a whirlpool tub. There's also a standard tub in the bathroom. Find instructions for the whirlpool, but it was absolutely wonderful to have. The room, which has a modern feel with lovely accents throughout, came equipped with the essentials: a pullout desk for working, a microwave, a coffee maker and the tiniest refrigerator I've seen in a hotel. Hands-down. A safe deposit box is also offered. Other reviewers are right on: the walls are way too thin. Even the floors! I found myself at times lowering my voice and tiptoeing around, worried that my neighbors could hear everything. That is a huge blow for this lovely hotel. And, interestingly, the bed wasn't as comfortable as expected. The mattress is very plush and lovely, but the bedding could use an upgrade. Staff was very cordial and helpful, though I'm not sure why when we had a noon check out we got a knock at the door around 9 for room service. That makes zero sense. Be sure to remember to put up your do to not disturb sign. The hotel also offers dry cleaning and guest laundry. The more I think about it, the more it seems the hotel caters overwhelmingly to people who are in town on business, and less so to vacationers and interstate travelers. I'm not sure if I will stay here again. There are a lot more reasonably priced hotels in the area. A lot more. Perhaps if I were able to take advantage of the swimming and the barbecue pit and the lounging all together in one visit, it would've made it more worthwhile. But at the price, I felt like I was paying more for wallpaper appeal than anything else. read more

Under the conditions of this Covid sweeping the world The employees here have done the best that they can under the circumstances. Since Covid, they can no longer have regular food and dinners served they do not offer bathrobes, they do not offer a lot of services. I was pleasantly surprised to stay here though. The room was very clean, bathtub was very clean, shower everything. The people working here under these extraordinary circumstances are doing the best they possibly can. Working on less than a skeleton crew. The bed is so comfortable, the lighting is much more pleasant than someplace else I had stayed recently. I like that the Marriott seems to be making a better impression than Hilton or any other hotel in the area. I would recommend this hotel but don't except swimming pools and other basic perks, due to Covid this has ruined businesses and basic policies that you would find anywhere. But for a very clean room and a very comfortable bed, go to the courtyard, Marriott. Get a nights sleep. read more

While reading the reviews, I kept wondering why only 3 stars for a standard Courtyard stay??? Upon arrival, the large entrance with structural details was impressive. The customer service was good. The lobby area and Bistro appeared to be updated. The pool area has all the updated lawn furniture and nicely landscaped. However, the room had highs and lows. The high point is that the room has a microwave. The mattresses needs to be replaced, as soon as possible and maybe even burned... They are not standard Courtyard quality!!! Low, hard, and very uncomfortable... The duvet is as thin as the sheet. The furniture in the room could also use an upgrade! This would explain why they only have a 3 star rating... read more

This is your pretty standard Courtyard. It is conveniently located off the highway. The price is fairly cheap and it has a few nice features such as a little dining area/bar and area for purchasing snacks. The building is a little older, but comfortable. The rooms are large and beds are very comfortable. There is not much of a view as it overlooks the highway. The gym far from motivates people from working out as it is tiny, there is little equipment, and it is cramped. The best part of this Marriott were the people. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating and relaly made you feel welcomed. read more

Stayed here while we waited to get into our St. Simons condo rental the next day. Rates were very competitive. Clean, comfy, & Covid protocols appeared to have all been followed. Only issue was that the TV wasn't functional. Called front desk & they thought it could be fixed remotely, but that was not the case. Stayed here while in town for work. Dead bugs, and I mean BIG bugs, like rainforest sign palmettos in the carpet lining the wall. We need to get that vacuum hand tool out team! That's what its for! The breakfast was good as was the coffee which I needed after worried about bugs crawling on me all nite! Management was kind about my commenting and said they would give me some extra points, not that I requested them but the straw was they didn't follow thru. According to Swarm (Four Square) it's been over 4 years since I've stayed here. This is an older hotel, but the lobby has been remodeled and includes a "Bistro" set-up. My room had also been made over, including a microwave & refrigerator. The bar offered some of the cheapest "Hotel Beer" that I've ever seen, $4.00 a bottle. I'm guessing my 50% tip made the second bottle a bit cheaper. Located right next to I-95 and every restaurant imaginable I'll be back. read more

Last night we had the pleasure of staying at this hotel. The hotel itself was extremely clean, well maintained and nicely decorated. The bistro and starbucks were very convenient to have in the lobby. The room was comfortable, the bed was possibly the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in. Having a loveseat in the room with the tv able to swivel was a nice touch. The service from Tasha was outstanding. From the moment we walked in the door she had a smile on her face, was so friendly and welcoming. Every time we encountered her she was very helpful and attentive. I have been a loyal Marriott customer for over 20 years now; whether for pleasure or business, I always make the Marriott choice for my stays, due to a high level of consistency and comfort that span all of the different locations and types. Unfortunately, on a recent official-business trip to this lovely Brunswick, GA location, my loyalty was directly challenged. Upon my arrival at about 6pm, I was greeted by a kind woman, who thanked me for my Rewards membership and granted me a free breakfast. The lobby area looked great, and... So far so good, right? Oh boy, was I in for a surprise. I have no other way to put this- This is simply the dirtiest, most unkempt Marriott location I have EVER been to. The elevator doors were carved with graffiti (extensively, I might add), the carpets were old and musty, and the floors on the 3rd floor creaked as if water-damaged. My room wasn't much of an improvement. The bed was bowed in the middle, and quite old, the stained curtains didn't close completely, and the bathroom was filthy. The tile grout needed cleaning, the shower curtain had mold specks and the water fixtures were badly faded and water spotted. There was no anti-slip mat in the shower, and the shower walls were peeling paint. My television received a grand total of 18 channels, most fuzzy and analog, and my remote did not function. The heater / AC unit was spotty at best, and worked the way you would expect a wall-unit (exactly- How many Marriotts have your been to with window/wall AC units?) to- Not very well. Feeling thirsty, and not wanting to drink the rather odd-smelling water in the room, I ventured downstairs at approximately 9:00 PM to buy some water, only to find the remaining staff eating together, in the lounge area. An attempt to buy myself a beer on top of my waters resulted in a rather bland older woman simply gesturing with her finger, to a sign that stated "the State of Georgia has revoked this location's liquor license". ARE YOU KIDDING ME? This was simply unacceptable. I'm sure my kind reader's first question will be, "did you approach a member of the management regarding these issues?". To that, I would respond with my greatest concern yet; while a copy of my bill WAS efficiently slid under my door in the early morning, upon my check-out I literally could not find a soul in the lobby area. I'm not kidding- The phone was ringing off the hook, the snack and register area was completely unmanned, and after 5 minutes I gave up and sauntered off to my rental car, feeling like I had just been on Candid Camera or a particularly bad episode of What Would You Do... I am a huge fan of the vision, values and business model of the Marriott organization. I realize that some smaller locations can and will be remodels of previously-branded spots, as well as older locations in need of a remodel. But the Brunswick, GA location is simply reprehensible, as is its staff and focus on customer service. Not recommended. read more

Horrible experience! Not notified of construction upon checking in. Given room right next to construction, even though I have accumulated 1475 nights with Marriott. Fumes from roofing work so strong caused us to have coughing fit and irritated eyes for day and a half. Management refused to move us citing fully booked. Eventually moved. Manager couldn't stand in room for 2 mins! Charged full price! No consideration...nothing. Food not good. Drinks expensive. Suggest another location. So, usually when I stay in hotels for just a few days, I leave the "do not disturb" door handle up, as I don't mind sleeping in the same sheets for less than a week or reusing a towel. I came back to my room after the second day, and found a bag of fresh towels and wash cloths hanging from the door with a cute note attached. How sweet is that!? So far the best accommodations while attending training. The front desk host Monicke is amazing, informative and welcomes you with a warm smile, she is always smiling! And very attentive to your needs. Just that alone I give it 5 stars. The rooms are average sized and comfortable. BBQ in the back area with a pool and a small gym keeps you busy. The lobby area is nice and the lounge area by fireplace is very relaxing. I would watch tv by the lounge area and think I'm in my room. Thank you Monicke for making us feel comfortable and at home. Just spent the weekend there while in town. First time in this Courtyard and it was a very pleasant,clean, quiet, staff was awesome! We stopped for a quick over night after driving 10 hours. The hotel was very clean, neat. The front desk ladies were very friendly. We were traveling with a trailer, so she gave us a room on the side so we could see it from our room. They were very accommodating. Our room was on the third floor, very neat,clean. Bedding was clean, and comfy. We decided to eat at their bistro lounge and the food was very good. We do a lot of traveling, and my husband and I both agreed that this hotel was one of the better ones. We usually stay at Hampton Inns, Double Trees, so we were comparing with other nice hotels. Have stayed at this hotel many times, but not happy here anymore. A year ago it was 15,000 rewards points, now it's 30,000. Paid for our rooms - $130 apiece (2 rooms), and were disappointed to see that the business center and half the lobby was a construction zone, with plastic sheeting everywhere. Not bad enough that they didn't disclose ahead or discount, but then they had the nerve to charge $2 a cup for coffee. My family (plus my mother) slept here during our road trip to Disney World. There were some rough looking areas around Brunswick, GA but I was very happy with my stay here. With my mother's AARP discount the room ended up being around $92.00 and the room was extremely modern. The only somewhat negative thing I'll mention were: 1. Beds were a little too soft for me. 2. There was no mirror outside of the bathroom. Other than that, great bang for your buck! read more

This fit the bill for a one night stay but unlike comparable Marriott properties we've stayed 8n along I-95, the rooms here need a little updating. First, the beds in both rooms we booked were sloped and had lost their firmness. Second, one of the bathrooms was flooded when we checked in and black mold ran along a portion of the outside shower base. And third, several of the fixtures were clearly in need of repair, i.e. toilet paper dispenser, TV swivel stand. Breakfast was good and staff was very accomodating. It's fair with rooms reasonably clean for this type of chain. Mini-friges, etc. But, sadly, no complimentary breakfast. they have a service bar which offers breakfast items for pay. You'll probably find more value in a Hampton Inn or elsewhere if you normally take advantage of the comp. breakfast. I was on my way to fl. booked the room in advance and ask for ground level the lady at front desk give me the 3 rd. floor.I told her I asked a month in advance for ground level she said they didn't have any at that time.I voiced being displeased and then one room appeared and she apologize.The room appeared to be clean and had been sprayed to smell nice.I went to bed pull covers up and there was a stain that appeared to be dried blood.I started looking at the blanket that had a covert over it and notice it was very yellow looking.During the night I could smell something in the room that was unpleasant.Not sure where it was coming from? read more
