Well, they do have Starbucks, but closed at 10:45 am. Dunkin coffee is fine.
Paul K.

The Front desk people at this hotel are over the top in accommodating you. This is not one of the places we normally stay when visiting my son in Chicago. I found it was just a little too far from his house. There is no free breakfast, but to me, that is not a deal breaker. However, getting a cup of coffee is difficult at best. I don't know the coffee hours, but whenever I walked by, they were closed. They feature Starbucks, but I could not score a cup of coffee. I did, however, walk over to Dunkin Donuts and had my coffee fix. There was some Lopalooza event; this was the only room we could find under $200.00 a night. Most places get to $200 a night, charging you up to $30.00 to park. This is in the suburbs, not the city. One observation: just because you offer Starbucks coffee does no one any good if no one is serving it.

This is a hotel that was probably great in the 90s, but has lots of signs of age. The rooms, while dated, are clean, with comfy beds and soft pillows. Bathroom is clean and well-lit, and we really enjoyed our stay. It is overpriced in my opinion for the state of the facilities. The hotel was under renovation (?) in certain areas, with lots of thick white dust kicked up if you walked through -- which you had to in order to reach the laundry room and fitness center. The staffs at the front desk were always helpful and pleasant to interact with, but they never seemed to have quarters on hand which meant that you would probably better off going to the laundromat down the street (assuming you have a car). The cleaning staff, on the other hand, seemed to actively resent guests. Every single one I interacted with, whether passing in the hallway or asking a question, gave me nasty looks. I had to ask one cleaning lady for an extra rubbish bag and she seemed flabbergasted as to what I was referring to. It took a solid few minutes to establish what a rubbish bag was, and I had to eventually point to it in her cart. This really isn't an issue if you are staying for a short time, but we were staying for around a week and ran into them a lot in the mornings. On the upside, the location is hard to beat: right across of the shopping plaza and with lots of good eats within walking distance! Close to Joongboo if you need to pick up anything for a longer stay, and not that far from Target/Walmart for other household needs. This area is not a bustling metro area by any means, but you can absolutely do worse in Glenview. A/C and heating worked well. Our room was facing the shopping plaza, so we did hear a lot of honking and even sirens/ambulances into the night; that is something to keep in mind if you are sensitive to noise. That said, I didn't hear our neighbors and it was generally quiet in the hotel which was a pleasant surprise. Major sore spots: - shower made odd, very loud high-pitched whine the entire time it was on, this was incredibly annoying and my #1 complaint - pool was quite cold, we visited well into winter and the pool/pool area could have been heated better as it was painfully cold. no hot tub either. pool area is gorgeous though and would be lovely in the summer - TV was very old and small - rooms looked quite dated but the lobby area seemed recently redone, which is strange - construction area was not well-ventilated and very dusty, be careful if you have asthma - no free coffee and no on-site restaurant, the Bistro in the lobby seemed to always be closed (not a huge issue as you can grab food nearby anyways) I would probably stay somewhere else next time, but the location of this hotel really is excellent for myself as an Asian who enjoyed being across the street from Iron Age, Tous les Jours, Sogongdong, Paik's Noodle, and so on. 10/10 for location, 7/10 for the rooms.

It's nice hotel, check in was easy. I had little problem to find the elevator, you walk into the corridor among the 1st floor rooms, and the corridor door is in a different direction compare to the room. The room is nice. The tv position is a little odd, but I'm not watching anyway. It's quite and i had a good night sleep which is all i need.

My bed was comfortable but I couldn't get my patio door open.

Customer service wasn't serving. No continental breakfast at all and the prices for everything was too high.

This was a decent hotel in a relatively quiet area, as an escape from the city during lollapalooza weekend. The hotel looks fresh and new on the surface but you can tell that underneath the core is a big old and the edges show through a little in the halls, exterior, elevator. The room was decently sized and the bed was comfortable. Maybe it was the time of year but it it was very quiet and we never saw the main coffee bar open in the afternoon or early evenings, which was fine because we went out. Ample parking and close to several good Asian food restaurants (it's a big cluster of Korean food). They had some snacks but not much up front, there's a liquor store up the street if needed.

The room. I liked that they had balcony.

When I get into the room, I will check the room to make sure it's clean. With Covid-19, yeah, I'm more mindful of hotels that I stay in now. After checking the room, went to the bathroom and boy was I surprised. The toilet seat was up (typically they are down). I glanced over and something caught my eyes.... piece of hair under seat of the toilet. Then, I checked the bath tub and found two pieces of hair in the tub. Due to covid-19, I now carry my own cleaning supplies and I ended up cleaning and sanitizing them myself. Did I bring this up with the front desk? No, I was on the road all day and I needed to rest and thankfully I didn't have to use the toilet seat! I will not be staying at this Courtyard, I'll just make a reservation down the street at Renaissance hotel.

I checked in here for two weeknights in August while traveling for business. The check-in process was quick and painless. They offer to forego housekeeping services and will give you an additional 500 reward points, so I opted for that. They told me the elevator was not working in the wing where my room was located on the third floor. They did offer to carry my bag. I said no thank you, I will be fine. It was no biggie for me as I did not have much to carry anyway and the steps are better for my health. I am sure it could be a struggle for others. When I got to the room, it felt like it was a handicap accessible room with wider doors and grab bars in the bathroom. I wondered how a wheel chair would get here without the elevator. The room was clean and was adequate for me. It had a fridge, which I like to keep drinks cold. The bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. They also good WiFi which allowed me to catch up on work. There is a small restaurant / bar which they call "The Bistro" which is open M-F 6am - 9:30am and 5pm - 10pm, and Sat & Sun, 6am - 10:30am and 5pm - 10pm. It is very basic with limited options but offers enough choices to find something. The Bistro also has a small selection of Beer, Wine and Cocktails. I was able to get breakfast both mornings and a beer or two at night after work. Overall, it was an ok experience and worked but it did not stand out and and had a few negatives like the elevator. I would try this place again, but I might also try someplace else in the area.

This area isn't safe. The catalytic converter was hacked off of my vehicle while our car was parked right in front of our room. We drove here out of state, and I was late to a job interview as a result of the theft. I let the hotel know about this, and there response was "We put signs up saying that the hotel isn't responsible for any theft". Over 2,000 grand of damage was done to my car! Just putting a sign up is insulting to the victims of these crimes.

Just got into town at 1:30am after we notified them of our late arrival to be told they do not have a room for us because they were short staffed and didn't have anyone to clean a room. They had no problem taking our money but weren't going to notify us at some point?! Essence the front desk attendant and Jason Mashni (manager) supposedly called around trying to find us another hotel and were unsuccessful. They told us to try as well which we did for 2hrs before finding a place 45min away in a terrible part of town. Essence said for our inconvenience her manager said they'd refund us and cover the cost of our new hotels. Now that we are back at home, I emailed Jason Mashini as Essence advised our receipts only to have Brian Fachada respond they would either reimburse the Hampton Inn or refund OR room and tax from the hotel, not both as they promised would be done due to inconvenience. This is so ridiculous and unprofessional. Not only did they take our money and leave us almost sleeping in our vehicle the night before my uncles funeral, they lied to get us out the door and aren't going to follow through with what they promised...again. Save yourself the headache and stress and never go to a Courtyard Marriot, especially this location!!

Blood found on my unchanged sheets. Housekeeping flipped sheets around on second night rather than changing. Disgusting.

THIS HOTEL DOES NOT CHANGE THE SHEETS BETWEEN GUESTS or during guest's stays. I know because I slept in someone else's BLOOD for two nights. This hotel is unsanitary, unsafe and it should be closed down. My first night, I was laying in bed catching up on some emails when I looked to my left and noticed some somewhat fresh looking blood spatter on the sheets at the TOP LEFT side of the bed, although I was not bleeding. I travel quite often so I've seen some gross things in hotels so I assumed it was a disgusting mistake. The room had two queen beds so I moved to the other one and left a note for housekeeping. As both beds were used, and one had a note mentioning a biohazard, both beds should have been changed. There was a draft near the window and the apartments next door are very noisy, so the second night I slept in the blood bed again. The second morning when I kicked off the covers, I noticed the same blood spatter pattern but this time on the BOTTOM RIGHT side of the bed. HOUSE KEEPING HAD NOT CHANGED THE SHEETS, THEY HAD JUST FLIPPED THEM AROUND. This is beyond disgusting. This hotel clearly does not wash or change the sheets, so unless you enjoy sleeping in other people's bodily fluids, skin and blood, find another hotel. The lotion had also clearly been refilled and was covered in crusty old lotion when I opened it. This place is a biohazard and should be closed down. Hotel management brushed my concerns aside so I have reported my experience to the Illinois Department of Health and Safety and hopefully they will address. There are plenty of other hotels in the area. I strongly recommend finding a safer, cleaner place to lay your head during your visit.

We had a nice stay at this Courtyard. Situated outside of Chicago, it is about a 30 minute drive (without traffic) into the city. A very nice lady (whose name I forget, my bad) checked us in, and noticed that Husband was a Marriott Elite member and gave us a pretty sweet room. This was our first time actually seeing the new improvements the Marriott brands have done with their Courtyard hotels. I like the new neutral colors, and the modern wall art. The bed, however, was still the same old lumpy kind. Boo. :( Water pressure to the shower was great as was the temperature. Toilet flow was better than others, and immaculately clean. In general, the state of the hotel was very clean. One thing that is tricky though is the access to the elevators. FYI - You have to go through the 1st floor to get to the elevators. Breakfast and dinner are served in the lobby, and at reasonable prices and hours. We didn't try them, but the offerings looked pretty good. Free parking, free wifi, affordable room rates, and you can print your airplane boarding passes if necessary. For people like us who road trip, it served all of our needs, and we would be glad to come back if we were in the area.

Nice outdoor courtyard.

This hotel is newly remodeled and overall a really good value for the price, especially when compared to downtown Chicago! There were two main negatives that make this hotel not a 4 or 5 star for husband and me: 1. TV stations did not come in well. Read another review stating this on TripAdvisor, and figured maybe it was limited to one room. But that reviewer seemed to stay there a lot, and think he was right. The digital channels were terrible. Couldn't watch Batman on HBO cause it kept cutting out. Analog channels were terrible. Told clerk as I checked out, and he apologized. 2. As husband and I were getting ready to leave our room, there were ants crawling all over our ankles! Not sure where they came from, we were on our balcony right before we left, but briefly. The good was really good, however: 1. Newly remodeled lobby and rooms. 2. Room was small, but well appointed and clean (except for the ants). Nice large loveseat with footstool and moveable side table in the corner for watching TV. 3. New carpeting and wallpaper in hallways. 4. Didn't use shower, but looked clean. 5. Every room has a balcony with a small but nice/newer table and chairs. Our balcony overlooked the courtyard. 6. Price is way better than downtown Chicago, about 1/4 of what we would have spent for downtown chicago. 7. Wireless internet worked great!

I definitely do not wanna give a 5 star reading to the Indian woman at the front because she was condescending and rude to me and my family. I had come down and waited to talk to her in line. A black man cut me in line, she saw, and she did not say anything about it. I told her that I wanted to get toothpaste, and she told me I had to wait even though I was in line to speak first. This man spoke rudely to my underage son, who is just a child. He picked up the phone and she told him to stop and put the customer who was in front, also told him to stop in a rude way to stop picking up the phone and calling the front desk. I was in complete shock, so I did not realize what was going on and why he was talking to my son in that manner. We buy even more so than the rude customer. The man in front of me I was appalled that the woman at the front desk was not being professional and did not say anything to that man, because I, as a mother, of course, was in shock. She needs to stick up for her patrons. That was at the hotel line. Now, I've booked four different rooms for our family members and we were there for multiple days and I had asked for only six little packets of toothpaste and she practically screamed in shock at how many that was. Even though we were there for multiple days and had multiple rooms. I only needed to get through that morning before I could go to the store to buy more toothpaste. The hotel rooms themselves are pretty good, because they have separate rooms and a full kitchen. But I will never stay here again because of that rude woman. She doesn't care about her customers OBVIOUSLY and screamed about needing "so much" toothpaste when we were 5 families staying here over the course of multiple days. Absolutely ridiculous.

Along with it being lower in cost for Hilton Honors members as I am currently a silver status member, I loved that it is located nearby a plethora of businesses and restaurants within Skokie itself. It was those things that won me over and led me into booking with Hampton Inn & Suites Chicago-North Shore/Skokie. My experience with the enthusiastic receptionist working behind the desk was nothing less than professional. Since my room was already booked through Hilton Honors, the only thing check-in consisted of was a verification of my information, a briefing on what is offered, and giving me my room key. And for your information check-in starts at 3:00pm and ends at 12:00am! And check-out ends at 12:00pm! After locating and entering my room, I said to myself "This is gorgeous!" once I took notice of the design and interior color which appeared so elegant! Looking outside of the window, I had an overview of Old Orchard Rd, and Edens Expressway (I-94), which is accessible to Hampton Inn & Suites. Inside the shower, there were liquid products by Gilchrist & Soames Zero% attached to the wall. Throughout my travels, I have noticed that hotels have completely dealt away with the mini shampoo, bath soap, and conditioner products that made great travel hygiene additions. Along with those notable things inside of the room, it met my cleanliness standards. I had no issues whatsoever getting comfortable in the king-sized bed during my stay as my head was engulfed in between the comfortable pillows. While utilizing the shower, I really enjoyed the water pressure; its soothing pressure made me feel very cleansed during each usage. It was wonderful toggling with its spray patterns, with the addictive feel of the pressure hitting the inside of my ear. Other things the room came with that I noticed were a comforter, an iron, ironing board, blow dryer, a coffee maker (Hamilton Beach), a mini refrigerator, microwave, a power adapter with USB and AC plugin, and several lamps which add a nice touch to the room. And the Wi-Fi internet was easy to connect to and not once did I have any connectivity issues with it during my stay. Hampton Inn & Suites, as expected, had an exceptionally beautiful inner interior! As a fitness enthusiast, it was great having a fitness center onsite because it allowed me to keep up with my fitness routines during my stay. And I must say that I was pleased to see the number of dumbbell weights, medicine balls, kettlebells, trx straps, a decent selection of workout machines, and a peloton fitness bike which totally charmed me out of my panties once I spotted it. Having the complimentary breakfast was a relief because I did not have to worry about finding a restaurant for breakfast in the morning. And I was highly satisfied with the quality of what was presented. It is served Monday-Friday from 6:30am - 10:00am, and Saturday-Sunday from 6:00am - 10:00am. If you are visiting Skokie, the Hampton Inn & Suites sits not only within an acceptable walking distance of a plethora of restaurants and businesses, but the Holocaust Museum, and Westfield Old Orchard, formerly Old Orchard Shopping Center. I would surely book with Hampton Inn & Suites Chicago-North Shore/Skokie again due to my experience with it because the hotel met my comfort needs, and I loved that its location is within an accessible distance of things of interest in Skokie. ~ Live every moment ~ Thomas G

Because our company had a party there, I received a great rate and thought it would be a good idea to stay so that I didn't drink and drive, and spend some time with my boyfriend and relax. Overnight, probably between 1-5 AM my catalytic converter was cut out of my vehicle. First red flag-- they had signs on all the parking spots saying they are NOT responsible for lost or stolen items, so I specifically parked RIGHT in front of the main lobby doors. And it still did me no good, despite cameras and all, they didn't catch them. Do NOT be fooled by the fact that the address is in Northbrook, IL. Just because other areas are wealthy, this specific area is NOT safe. The police told me that they have a group of people doing this often in the area that they cannot catch them. Between fake license plates, and the last two times they tried arresting them, the criminals were shooting at them and trying to run them over, they can't stop them. So if the police aren't stopping them, who will? My $99 hotel night turned into a $1500 hotel night. Do not risk staying at this hotel. On top of the financial stress, I am dealing with the emotional and mental stress of trying to get an auto shop to fix all the damage they did. Single parent of two kids, and this is NOT what I needed. The hotel is WELL AWARE that this happens, the front desk lady even knew that "in the past they could check the cameras across the street" and I wish I had read other reviews that stated it had happened to them. They should be held accountable for not having a safe environment for their guests and not increase security at night. Not only that, but parking is NOT free -- so whomever wrote that in the review was mistaken. They charge each car per night. This hotel should be shut down. So please listen, do yourself a favor, and do not stay here.

She gave me a new set of sheets and a garbage bag to put the blood stained sheets in a bag. I was utterly mortified that she didn't offer me any help or assistance. The following morning I went to the front desk. I spoke with David. I told him what happened. He was incredibly rude and abrasive. I was extremely calm. This was when Mike the manager said they have a three step process. Both David and Mike basically accused me of lying. This put me in a very incredibly uncomfortable position. I stayed calm. I explained the last few days were frustrating between the broken elevator and it taking a very long time to switch my room. I said I'm recovering from a bad car accident and I was recovering from serious injuries. This is where Mike said he will refund my entire stay. This is where David said I look perfectly fine. I was in shock. Both David and Mike doubled down with saying I made this up. I didn't want to deal with packing up again then having to find another hotel. I told Mike why don't you comp me a night because I'm going to extend. He doubled down that there was no way his staff was responsible. Dry Blood doesn't magically appear. The following day I said to David I would like to speak with Mike about the bloody sheets incident. Mike never responded. After three days and multiple times requesting to speak with Mike I figured I would call customer service. I told customer service and they were appalled by my experience. They asked me what I wanted. I said I felt I should be comped three nights. Considering the experience I didn't think that was unreasonable. On Saturday the 7th and Sunday the 8th I told David I still haven't heard back from Mike. I felt I was poorly compensated for my issues. On Monday the 9th i went to the front desk and wanted to speak with Mike. David told me tonight is comped and I am banned from ever coming to the hotel again. I was shocked. I then said I wanted to speak with Mike. David was extremely rude. I had to get personal and tell him I was on blood thinners. He obliged to come to my room and I showed him my medication. I needed to reiterate I didn't put the blood on the sheets. I said I have a blood disorder. If I cut myself I would bleed profusely because of my medication. There was still zero accountability for the bloody sheets. Shortly after speaking with David. I managed to speak with Mike. We went into a private room to discuss the issue. He asked me why did I call corporate. I said it was frustration that he felt I planted the blood on the sheets. I said that was extremely offensive. He then said he was a very busy guy. Then he made sure to imply there would be zero repercussions for my complaint, and because I complained he was banning me from the hotel. All of this rubbed me the wrong way. The arrogance of Mike was astonishing. What I realized from my 10 days at this hotel. This hotel is a factory pushing people in and out

What a dump..... Asked to speak to a manager multiple times I was told the manager wasn't there…read more I left my name and number and no return phone call. I was told they will check me out of the room and they never did I had to do it manually. The bathtub had cigarette burns on it. The lights had patches that were never painted over, the fan in the bathroom was broken, so with the humidity I couldn't breath and had a hard time showering. The door to the room doesn't lock. And the bed is curled up at the corner. Maid service is only available with 24 hr advance notice. They failed to tell the staff I had a late checkout but they still tried to enter my room twice.

We stayed a couple of nights at this DoubleTree to get away for a few days. I know Skokie isn't…read moreexactly vacation-city, but we had a relative in the Skokie hospital and the hotel literally minutes from it. So, we figured we'd check out some of the sites in the area while we had time to visit the hospital. Having status at Hilton, we are always treated well at any of their hotels, DoubleTree being a Hilton property. It is attached to Jameson's Charhouse, a restaurant we generally like and looked forward to eating there during our stay. (We did have dinner there one night and breakfast one morning. The rooms are small but comfortable. I particularly like the beds at Hilton Properties. I find them very comfortable which makes the stay all the more pleasant. Other amenities include a pool (which we didn't use), and a gym with mainly Precor equipment, and one Peloton Bike. The have a large Precor weight machine, a host of dumbbells, medicine balls, and more. I did take advantage of the gym while we were there. All in all, it was a nice stay. If you find yourself needing a hotel in or around Skokie, this is a good choice.

We stay in the Chicagoland area frequently and enjoy exploring different neighborhoods and suburbs,…read moreso I was hoping this hotel's proximity to a nicer mall would be reflected in the overall experience. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The hotel feels dated, and the lobby had a musty smell upon arrival. Our room was fairly clean, but it was quite small, especially the bathroom. The biggest disappointment was the pool area. It appeared dirty and neglected. There was visible dirt at the bottom of the pool, and the outdoor area had cigarette butts and champagne bottle caps scattered around. The indoor section contained deflated pool floats. The condition of the pool area also raised concerns about overall maintenance. Seeing dirt in the pool and trash left around the deck made me question how closely other aspects of pool upkeep, such as water testing and chemical monitoring, are being managed. I also noticed a safety concern: the pool deck had been resurfaced, but in the process, the depth markings in the outdoor portion of the pool were covered up. The outdoor part of the pool is deeper than most hotel pools, which makes it even more concerning that the depth markers appeared to have been covered during resurfacing. Additionally, the door to the pool area was not locked. One smaller but frustrating issue was the room amenities. Our reservation was for four guests, yet the room was stocked with only three sets of towels. At check-in, we were also given only three cookies. If cookies are intended to be a welcome perk, it would be nice if every registered guest received one. Overall, while the room itself was reasonably clean, the dated facilities, neglected pool area, and lack of attention to details made this stay disappointing. We would not stay here again.
