This hotel is terrible. Upon checking into my room it smelled like mold. The wallpaper in the corner was pealing up and you could see visible water damage and mold in the corners of the room. The shower had massive cracks and mold and the thermostat did not work. The desk chair had a smelly oils stain on it so I had to lay a towel down in order to sit to work. It was so late I decided to call the front desk first thing in the morning. In the morning I asked to move rooms and they instead assured me they would deep clean the room. This was at 8:30am. I went to work, came back, and the room had not been cleaned nor the thermostat repaired. Now 5pm I called the front desk AGAIN and asked that I either move rooms or this one be deep cleaned. They assured me again it would be cleaned... for posterities sake at 8pm I called to remind them... they assured me it would be cleaned... can you guess what happened when I returned to my room? I specifically requested a refrigerator a full week before my stay because I needed to safely store my expressed breast milk. I spoke with Sheri, who assured me she would make a note on my reservation and that having a refrigerator would not be an issue. When I arrived to check in, Lee informed me there were no notes on my reservation and said there was nothing he could do. I explained how critical it was to keep my breast milk refrigerated, but he showed no urgency, empathy, or willingness to help. His attitude was dismissive, rude, and completely unprofessional. Because of the hotel's failure to honor a request that had been confirmed in advance, my breast milk spoiled. Any parent who pumps knows that breast milk is not only incredibly time-consuming and physically demanding to produce, but it is also irreplaceable. This situation caused unnecessary stress, wasted hours of work, and resulted in my baby losing valuable nutrition. The lack of communication, accountability, and basic customer service is unacceptable. I would not recommend staying at this hotel, especially if you have important medical or childcare-related needs that require staff to follow through on their commitments. read more

It really should be a Tier 2 or 3 brand of the Marriott/Sheraton line. It's mostly a quick business travel hotel. Check-in was easy. The hallways are LONG. I was in a room at the end had a 2-minute walk from the elevator. The room was standard. Clean but dated. The AC was super loud. A restaurant is advertised but I had trouble with it. On an evening when I didn't feel like going out, I found out it wasn't open. It was mid-week and the in-room menu didn't state it. Kind of confusing. I did go to that same restaurant for breakfast. Went through the menu and was told that some of the items were not available. Food and coffee were subpar. Wasn't expecting spectacular but I've had better airport food. read more

For $250 a night, you'd think they'd have ventilation in bathroom, refrigerator and microwave by ice machine. Nothing! Free breakfast was not good. Sausage was burnt and potatoes undercooked. Well you can't believe the amenities listed on the website. It says bellman. (There is not one available) it says laundry facilities (there isn't any) the restaurant on site is a bit pricey. We didn't have to pay for the room as it was covered by the Trustem Company and the room was nice except the room phone didn't work so I had to call down on my cell. Dated. WiFi doesn't work on any device no matter what you do. I called the front desk about it and all they could say was "well, mine works just fine." Four days here and it never worked. Bed skirts are filthy. AC rattles and is so loud when it turns on/off. Fan doesn't stay on. They don't refresh your water with room service so we had to buy water every day. Bathrooms need a deep clean. TV situation is ancient and terrible. Overall just feels like it's falling apart, will not be staying here in the future and can't wait to leave. read more

This hotel is on the northside of nowhere lol, but if you can tolerate the long commute back into city, it's a great inexpensive find. Well, to be fair, I got a really good deal on hotels tonight for sixty-nine dollars a night for two nights, so my expectations weren't very high to begin with. The hotel staff is super friendly and accommodating. The room smelled fresh, had a large sunny window, the bed and pillows comfy, and the bathroom was really nice. There's even complimentary self-serve laundry in the building. Across the street are tons of restaurants, a Whole Foods, and a bowling alley. I enjoyed my stay here. read more

Definitely not up to Bonvoy standards. The check-in host was very business like, but not very friendly. I am a gold level member, which was never acknowledged. Our first room did not have sheets on the bed, so I had to go back to the front desk for a new room. The new room had one wash cloth and 2 towels for 2 guests. There was the previous guests hair in the shower. I stayed at a Westin in the area this week, which was much nicer experience. I am not sure I will return to this property. Additionally, I just saw that they were not capable of applying my AARP discount, so my bill is wrong, and now I have to waste time getting it corrected. My suggestion is to avoid this property and stay somewhere else. read more

We were verbally thanked for our loyalty, and our room was upgraded to a "Club King" room, which included access to the Sheraton Club Lounge. We were assigned welcome amenity points and given meal vouchers for on the days that the lounge doesn't serve breakfast. We felt like valued guests. Staff- 5/5. Excellent. Before our arrival, we called and spoke with Francis about our pet; she was friendly and knowledgeable. "Mo" checked us into the property, and he efficiently explained the property. Penny, at the reception, helped us when we extended our stay; she was very professional. Overall, everyone we interacted with was very kind, knowledgeable, & courteous. Property Appearance & Maintenance- 5/5. Excellent. The renovations really make this property shine. No outstanding maintenance items were evident. Exterior- 5/5. The exterior is debris free, and the hotel is well branded. Interior- 5/5. The lobby and corridors are clean, and the baseboards, walls, & carpets are scuff-free. All lighting was operational, as were both elevators. Accommodations- 4/5. Very good. We were assigned a "Club King" room, and we were very happy. The room was virtually spot free. The room was appropriately appointed, and the furnishings were in good repair. The bed- & bathroom was exactly as advertised on the hotel and chain websites. A stain was present on the wallpaper in the corner, and there was evidence of something like a water leak above the window by the ceiling; otherwise, the room was spot-free. The bedding was super comfortable. We would choose this room type again. Housekeeping- 5/5. Excellent. Our room was unquestionably clean. The bedding was fresh, unwrinkled, & blemish free. The carpets were immaculate, as was the bathroom. All toiletry items, shampoo, conditioner, soap, toilet paper, etc., were all provided in a supply adequate for the length of our stay. At no point during our stay did the housekeepers disturb us while the DND sign was in place. Each time we passed the housekeepers in the hallway, they were pleasant and eager to ensure we had everything we needed. Pool/Gym- 4/5. The fitness center and the pool were both available. Breakfast/Meal Options- 5/5. Excellent. In addition to the breakfast service being offering during the week in the club lounge, breakfast and dinner were both available in the restaurant downstairs. Beverages were available in the club lounge as well. Laundry- not evaluated. Computer/Printer/WiFi- 4/5. WiFi signal was not strong in at the end of the hallways, but while connected, streaming was smooth & uninterrupted. Other- At the time of our visit, signage to indicate that masks were mandatory were everywhere. Guests and employees alike complied. read more

Walls are paper thin. The people next to me weren't loud, however you can hear every word as if they were in the room. Doors all slam shut so you will hear all your neighbors come and go. Halls are thin so housekeeping people can be heard talking all day. Some of the rooms have TVs that are not facing the bed so the only way to watch it is sitting in a chair. This hotel is really a 2 1/2 but I gave it 3 because most staff was nice. I was in a business meeting at the hotel for 3 days and nights. Check-in was pretty much a disappointment. There was only 1 woman doing check-in at 6PM on a Tuesday. After waiting several minutes while she was assisting a guest, she then left the check-in desk to go find something for that guest, and said nothing to me or the others waiting to check in. Then, when she got back, didn't even apologize for the wait. Then, she said nothing about any of the hotel features, like the bar/restaurant, pool, exercise room, etc. The room was comfortable enough. The bed was big and fairly comfy, although the mattress was softer than I prefer. The chair used to work at the desk was too short for the desk and it was a bit uncomfortable to work that way, but I really wasn't in the room that much for it to be a major issue. The A/C did work very well, keeping my room at a nice and cool 65 degrees. The shower was large and the hot water was plentiful. I did notice that there was no information packet in the room that the vast majority of hotels have, with pertinent information about the hotel and local area. That came back to bite me in the butt. Now, after my first day of meetings, I got back to my room and saw that housekeeping hadn't been there. I had to change to go to dinner so I went to the front desk on my way out and asked a different staff member if my room would be done. She asked me if I had requested service. I said I hadn't and then asked if I was supposed to. She said with Covid they now only service rooms if the guest makes a request the night before. I said I wasn't told that at check in and there was nothing in my room that would have told me about this. A manager overheard and came over. He apologized and took responsibility. He reiterated the Covid policy. I told him I had no issue with the policy, my issue was never being told about it at check in and not having any info about it in my room. The manager was quite understanding about the issue. On our last night at the hotel, I went to the desk to ask for a late check out the next day. The manager was nearby, heard me ask, and yelled to the desk person to give it to me and to give me whatever I wanted. He said they owed me that. I appreciated that. I don't know that I would stay here again if it was my decision as where to stay. It's a bit of a trip to downtown Chicago. A plus was a large park with a good bike/jogging/walking path very close by, which I took good advantage of in the early AM hours. But one never knows. read more

It's a very small Sheraton with only 5 floors. Breakfast is served in two different areas. The one downstairs is not included with your hotel room, so you have to pay out of pocket and is located right next to the lobby on the first floor. The food here is pretty good. Pricey, but if you don't want to leave the premises, it's a good option. Whole Foods and a bunch of restaurants are walking distance, so if you want to venture out, you have plenty of options. The other breakfast is if you purchased it with your hotel or have VIP access or whatever and is located on the 5th floor. You'll need to use your room key to access it. They have water bottles, bottled juice, yogurt cups, cereal, bagels, eggs, sausage potatoes. The food here was food... I would have rather gone somewhere else, but it's convenient. The room was clean, but we did have an issue with the bathtub plug. Maintenance came right away to fix it, so it wasn't a big issue. The walls are pretty thin, I could here the party people pretty clearly when they decided to stumble back to the hotel room to sleep it off. Not a big deal, but it might be an issue for light sleepers. read more

Overall a pretty decent hotel for the northern suburbs of Chicago. The room was very clean, pretty modern, and had a large mounted TV right in front of the bed. This was a very nice, safe area with several restaurants nearby and a Target. Going with the tradition of other reviews I'll list the pros and cons: Pros: -easy checkin on the BONVOY app, and you can even request extra towels/amenities on there too! -large bathroom with a large glass shower -tons of outlets -large armoire to hang clothing -lots of lamps Cons: -no mini fridge I'm a loyal Marriott user and utilize their BONVOY rewards program, and if you use the app you can get special lower rates and eventually get enough points to get free nights! read more

My 91 year old mother stays here regularly when she's in town because it's convenient to where we live. It took 15 minutes for someone to even show up at the front desk to check her in at 400 on a Thursday afternoon. She had some issues during stay and left a message for the general manager WHO NEVER CALLED HER BACK. What kind of service is that??! This hotel used to have a good staff and attentive service but apparently not anymore. Poor service and lack of concern means we will book somewhere else from now on. read more

My refuge during Snowpocalypse 2011. The facility is less than three years old, so everything is still fresh and crisp. The room was comfortable enough, but seemed too dark. There weren't enough strong lights, although I loved the huge window, which must admit a lot of daylight during the right hours. In the morning, there was a problem with the bill, but they corrected it immediately...or at least claimed to. As usual, a hotel experience lives and dies by the details: + A six-foot desk in front of the window. If you have a lot of work (or eating) to do, you can really spread out. + One of those iPod alarm clocks. These things must have an outstanding battery backup, because I had set an alarm the night before; then, when I woke up early, I unplugged it to use the outlet for something else--but the alarm still went off after being unplugged almost 90 minutes. + Real glasses instead of plastic cups + Iron, ironing board, and hairdryer provided + Good towels + Solid showerhead and water pressure + They did a marvelous job keeping the parking lot clear of snow during the overnight and early-morning hours. + Best of all, free Andes Mints at the front desk! - The chiffarobe is awkwardly placed, such that the lights from neither the foyer nor the main room can reach inside. So you have no idea what is in there, even after you yourself hung it up. - The ice bucket is tiny. - The hot water in both the sink and shower will scald your skin off--be careful! - The pillows are too soft; I could never get comfortable because I felt as if I were drowning in the bed. - And the linens are too noisy! Every single movement produces an orchestra of whirs and swishes. - The TV is infuriating. The remote control seems to register commands slowly and inconsistently, and the screen doesn't display the channel number that you've selected, so most of the time you won't know where you're going to end up. +/- Speaking of TV, the in-house programming offers a ton of very current on-demand movies...for twelve or thirteen bucks! Geez, that's a high price to pay for forgetting one's laptop charger. +/- There is an easy chair in the corner near the window and desk...but no ottoman, and worst of all, no lamp anywhere in that entire quadrant of the room. It's the perfect reading location in full daylight, but otherwise the chair is useless. 3.5 stars because it's new; the same experience ten years from now would be a 3. read more

The loudest hotel I ever stayed at. The doors do not have a soft close feature so every time a person enters and exits the room the door slams. No sleep here at all. The restaurant food is gross and overpriced. No maid service, only 1 coffee packet for 2 guests, no creamer, and the mattress must be a 100 years old. Nothing was really as advertised. They blamed letting guests check out late for my room not being ready and I missed a graduation event because of it. The room had no hand soap and one wash cloth and no hand towel. The facial tissue was a box of kleenex on top of a different sized tissue container. No refrigerator, no creamer for the coffee and lids didn't fit the cups provided. The room includes the oldest iHome that could never charge a single useful Apple product. The air conditioner is so loud and turns on and off all night - the low setting to just leave it on does not work. The doors slam all day and night and you can hear people walk by in the hall as if they're standing in your room. The cleaning staff yells down the hall to each other starting at 8am. And you can hear EVERYTHING from your neighbors room. The headboard had drip marks on it I'm usually a Hilton purist and now I remember why. read more

This hotel was a very pleasant surprise. I needed a place to stay overnight in this area and stumbled upon this hotel. I was a bit hesitant after reading some reviews but booked anyway. The check-in process with Bradley went very smoothly: he was very professional and even accommodated my wish for a quiet room since I was feeling a bit under the weather. The room was spacious and very clean: I am very fussy about cleanliness and found no faults with this room. The bed linens smelled and felt fresh and I loved the amenity kit. It's true that the decor is a bit outdated and there is no television or safe but these things did not matter to me. I also appreciated the fact that there is a coffee maker with complimentary water. The Internet, as other fellow Yelpers noted, is complimentary and incredibly fast. I had a dinner at their Connections restaurant downstairs and both my buffalo wings and my Caesar salad were delicious and fairly priced($10 each) while Carlos was an attentive server. The morning after I checked out and the very kind Maria Pia gave me a ride with their shuttle to where my business meeting was- this was a very nice touch that saved me some time and stress. Wish I would've searched "Wedding" in the Yelp reviews for Sheraton before booking a room block for our recent wedding. Let's just say that the Sheraton's proximity to Pinstripes is it's saving grace... Things started off smoothly enough. However, some of our wedding guests are procrastinators and waited until a week-or-two before to book. Yet, my wife and I stopped in a week prior and there were only 6 rooms booked in our block of 25, so we told our friends that there are plenty of rooms. Wrong. When our friends tried to book, they were told there were no rooms available. As it turned out, the deadline that Brad Miller, the group sales representative, set had passed (without being informed that the deadline was approaching, which Brad initially told us he would let us know when it was coming up). Issue #2 was early check-in. The hotel's check-in is at 3pm, but we were told that they may be able to accommodate early check-in if the room is available. But upon calling to see the day of if we could check in at 1, the customer service rep told us he didn't know if we would be able to or not. I asked him if he could call me if the room would be available, and he said that he would not be able to do that. So I asked him that if we came by at 1pm and the room wasn't available, was there a place to store our things, to which he obliged. Luckily, the room was available, but what a headache... Issue #3 was our "upgrade" to a Executive King Suite. My wife had asked if there was a room she could use for her and her bridesmaids and our moms to get their hair and makeup done. Brad offered to upgrade us to an Executive King Suite, which we thought would be great (suite = 2 rooms, right?). However, upon check-in to our room, we found out that the "suite" was really just a slightly (and I do mean "slighty") larger room that definitely was not going to hold all of those people. We went down to talk to Brad, and he informed us that he said room, not suite. In his defense, he was able to let them use one of the meeting rooms -- why he didn't offer this in the first place, I have no idea. Issue #4 however was the worst -- my wife and I got a call at 7:30am from the front desk asking if we received our checkout slip ... the day after our wedding. I mean ... REALLY?! There were some other smaller issues that popped up, like rather than putting our welcome bag in the guest rooms, they just put them on a table next to all of the other ones. Not the biggest deal, but now your guests are able to compare their welcome bags to the other ones. I can't give the Sheraton one star because they were able to accommodate all of our guests who needed a room, and because Brad was able to solve the "getting ready" dilemma. However, the rest of the issues were enough that I can't even say this hotel is average. read more
