Update* Manager finally called me back 3 hours later to notify me he would follow-up with bank. Six hours later and I still have the hold applied, no receipt, and no follow-up. Just a $870 hold on my account for no apparent reason. Classy. I travel for work. I stay at a lot of hotels. I am a Marriott Awards Member. I booked a week on my credit card and was charged accordingly at the end of my stay. I booked a 2nd week using the same credit card and the entire total of $870 was put on hold. I contacted the manager Joe and requested my receipt since I was already being charged and he couldnt provide me one. First he gave me a song and dance about a hold for incidentals-$870 worth? Lol...then he tried with banks and their differing policies, but from the other reviews this happens too often at this hotel to blame banks. The hotel IS applying the hold. Joe told me to call the following day if the hold was still there. It was. I called him twice, left detailed voice messages, and no response. Stay at the Hilton or Holiday Inn and save yourself the headache and run around. read more

Bare minimum provided. Linen is scratchy and rough and left rashes on our skin. Paid extra even though the price online said price for two people. The pool and the stairs were closed for renovation and we weren't given any indication. Front desk lady was very helpful. read more

Nice place in general. Front-desk staff was super friendly and the rooms were clean. The hotel was recently renovated, so there's a nice lobby when you enter, with a Starbucks, a bar, and a little sitting area in the back. The only weird thing is that the rooms don't have mini fridges. They let you pick the area of the building where you want to stay, so you might as well take the opportunity to ask for a room opposite the highway. read more

Newly renovated, clean and comfortable. Great staff - very friendly. Clean pool area : heated pool and a hot tub that actually works (unlike some hotels I've stayed at recently). Rooms have flat screens, wardrobes (not closets) and big comfy beds with lots of fluffly pillows and pull out sofas. Very new modern decor throughout. Great hotel at a great price! FYI: Used name your own price on Priceline = $70 / night. read more

Made a reservation at this hotel and secured it with a credit card. Went to check in at 5:30 pm and there were two weddings also booked at the hotel. Desk clerk (who was very nice, no complaints about the staff) and her manager both said they couldn't find my reservation. They even called the Courtyard in Poughkeepsie and the Residence Inn but both hotels didn't have the reservation. I wasn't the only one there checking in at that time who had problems. There was a family checking in and a gentleman checking in that the computer system "couldn't find" their reservations either. So, I asked to book the room for the night at the $109 AAA discount rate that I reserved. The manager kept maintaining that I didn't have a reservation and that she couldn't honor my reserved rate. She told me the room rate was $179 for the night! At this point I got tired of the bait and switch and walked out. Went next door to the Hilton Garden and got a room for $2 less than my original reserved rate. I think that with two wedding parties in the hotel, Marriott overbooked the hotel and anyone who wasn't there for the weddings got their reservation cancelled. I better not be charged for this. I will never stay at Marriott again. It's not the staff's fault. The fault lies in the Marriott reservation system for overbooking the hotel. Caveat emptor - make sure you have your reservation number or you're screwed. read more

Stayed here St. Patty's Weekend so we didnt have to drive 40+ minutes to get back to Middletown. I ended up getting a regular room with a king size bed. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. What solidifies this as a solid 4 for me was the staff working there. Everyone seemed cheerful, happy to be there and even exchanged some jokes and laughs with me. Also they give Gov/Mil discounts so that was another plus. read more

My husband and I stayed here on Saturday. The room was spotless and every single employee greeted us anywhere we went. Special shout out to the night bartender Tyler who was effortlessly friendly, knowledgeable, and handled an awkward situation with total graciousness (a fellow intoxicated patron) the morning staff at the bistro were also very prompt and helpful. If we travel through this area we would go out of our way to stay again. read more

The hotel was clean and updated. The pool was closed when we were there for water treatment (which is actually a good thing despite how upset we were not to be able to swim). The staff were very friendly (especially the ladies cleaning the room). It's right off the highway, so easy on and easy off for travellers. Would stay again. Just note that there weren't hair dryers or refridgerators in the room, which are usually available at other Courtyards from what I noticed. read more

I loved my room. It was clean and Spacious for all my things after my wedding. My guests liked the service and staff. My only complaint is They did not give all my wedding guest there gift bags that I made. I spent time and money making custom items for the gift bags. Some of my guests mentioned they had to ask for there bags. I thought this was unusual especially because I reserved a room block for them. The bags had shuttle information as well as breakfast information for the next morning. We paid for 40 people for breakfast but half showed because the others did not receive bags to know breakfast was even available. I would have loved to give 5 stars. :( when I asked about the extra bags, I never got a straight answer. read more

Waited in the lobby for about ten minutes while my husband's aunt tried to help the staff figure out the reservations we all made for her daughter's wedding the next day. She had every single reservation confirmation printed out and yet there were STILL issues getting us into our rooms. Should've been a sign. The room itself was comfortable and we were pretty happy with it until about 1 am, when I realized that there was a carbon monoxide detector on the wall RIGHT. ABOVE. THE HEADBOARD. With two blinking lights that I could see through my closed eyelids. Who on earth thought that was a good idea?! Why would you not put that in the bathroom or the hallway? Obviously, didn't get much sleep. And then we discovered that the Starbucks in the lobby closes at 11 AM. Because of course! We paid way too much money for this place. If you're going to stay here, bring a reservation confirmation and duct tape to cover those blinking lights above your bed. read more

Loved the stay here. Rooms were large. Room to move around. Clean. Separate vanity from the restroom/shower which made it easier for us to get ready. Mini fridge, coffee pot, iron, ironing board, closet, desk, King size bed, 2 side tables and a pull out couch with coffee table. Beautiful surroundings. Right across from Sams Club, Walmart, gas stations, Diners, Charlie Brown Restaurant, Ruby Tuesdays, etc etc. Friendly staff. Quick check in and check out. A few items to purchase such as ice cream, beer, sandwiches, and frozen dinners and aspirin, etc. There's a little food and drink counter but it's only open at certain times. I wish it was open more hours of the day. I would've hung out and relaxed there with a glass of wine. Modern decorations. Lots of parking available. I enjoyed staying on floor 4 because of looking out and seeing the changing colors on the leaves. So relaxing. Right off the freeway but no freeway noise. There's also Pizza Hut and Coldstone Creamery less than a 1/2 mile away. Great place! read more

Stayed in a room with a sofa bed. No bedding provided. No one answering the phone (over an hour) to ask to bring bedding. Had to go to front desk, finally, to get help. Finally got the bedding, but was told there were no pillows. No pillows?? Sigh. No apologies. No assistance. Just a really disappointing experience that points to lack of service, training, and...well...basics like pillows. Thanks, Marriott Fishkill - how wonderful you are for over $200 per night. Days inn would have been better, an a third of the price. Big mistake. Get you act together. read more

I stayed here nearly 3 months with my husband and 18 month old!! Yes you heard me right ... 3 Months! We were given the penthouse model which includes a Murphy queen bed downstairs and queen bed above. Additional sofa pull out bed is also available fo extra people checking in with you. 2 bathrooms comfortable and neat . One bathroom we exclusivley kept it cor our kid. Towels were changed almost everyday. Housekeepers , front desk receptionists and maintenance guys... All were responsive and friendly. Breakfast were nice but only wished menus were little different every other day.(i heard they changed that now...) People like us staying for months begin to get sick on seeing the same menu over and over again. Also I think by now all TVs are converted to LCDs from the old fashioned tube TV. One particular housekeeping lady who visits us often to clean turned out to be so courteous and friendly with us. We missed her when she left the job! :( read more

Excellent Courtyard hotel. Lobby is well designed and had large flat screen TV that one could touch and learn about the hotel and area. Spotlessly clean lobby, hallways, and rooms. The pool and hit tub had a wheelchair lift and each worked. Jose who checked me in was professional. TV had an issue and James showed up in a heart beat, was funny and fixed the problem with speed. false advertising!!!!! i booked this room specifically because they offered pool & hot tub. i moved out of my house today, and knew i would need water therapy, and it was the only reason i booked this room. the listing on hotels.com showed the pool & hot tub, and there was absolutely no indication that the whole water area was "under maintenance". i've been looking forward to this hot tub for a week. i could & would have booked any other place - and there are many in this area - that had a pool and/or hot tub because my body really needs this today. there is no reason marriott could not have let the customer know this was not available at the time of booking. i will never ever book marriott again. cash in the trash. never again. don't book marriott. they will rip you off & the manager will tell you"there's nothing i can do, sorry. breathe in breathe out." really??? you suck marriott. read more
