Also the front desk girl was very nice , she gave us to beds . One to make a mess in and one to sleep in, also , the moans of pleasure were left unknown with no complaints. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL AND EXPECT ANY RESOLUTION TO PROBLEMS SHOULD YOU HAVE ANY!!! On May 28th, I booked a reservation at this hotel through Priceline, for a stay starting on June 23rd. On June 21st, well within the acceptable cancellation period, I cancelled the reservation through Priceline. However, on July 1st, I was charged for the room. Many, many phone calls later, to Priceline and to the hotel, have yielded no refunds. The hotel refuses to refund the amount charged, claiming they never received the cancellation, even though I have forwarded them the cancellation confirmation that I received from Priceline. The general manager of this hotel has been evasive (the front desk regularly claims he is not available) and uncooperative when reached by Priceline. claiming that I need to deal with Priceline. I recently stayed at this Hilton Garden Inn for a wedding and have absolutely no complaints. It seems like a relatively new property and is very modernly designed. Pros: - Friendly and welcoming staff. Everyone operated professionally and with courtesy, even the girl who told us it was her first day on the job. They have a few wedding to juggle that weekend and answered all of the questions for ours. - Free cookies, tea, coffee, and water in the lobby. Perfect when you crave a snack or a quick drink after a long drive. Hard to find in many hotels and a great perk. - Great pool hours. Although I didn't use it, my dad greatly appreciated the fact that they let him into the pool past midnight. - Modern, spacious rooms. No issues with any amenities. - Free Wifi Breakfast was nothing special. All fresh and the typical variety of scrambled eggs, sausages, muffins, etc. read more

We are Hilton Lifetime Diamond members so we know what is expected upon check in. Expectations were not met by the desk clerk upon our check in. We had interrupted her dinner to do the check in, silly us. Traveling and tired climbed in to bed only to discover a pinch of sorts. To our horror I discovered a series of safety pins hooked together with the last one and largest one open and that was the pinch I was feeling! Empty hotel and that front desk clerk put us on the noisy highway side. Garbage truck woke us up at 530am as it sounded like it was right outside our room window. No coffee in the lobby, bought some at 6am across the street at the gas station. This was the second time we used this hotel on our route up to Boston. It was our last. read more

My hunnie took me here for my birthday weekend and it was such a well needed rest with an 8 month old at home. The room was pristine, though a little smaller than I'd hoped for. The bed was super comfortable. And the black out curtains are some serious business - we slept till 9 - which never happens anymore in our lives and when we woke I had no clue it was daytime yet. The breakfast is the best breakfast I have ever had in a hotel. One of the better all around breakfasts I've had, period. DO try the coffee cake - it is seriously orgasmic. You can save some money buy booking with Hotels.com and choosing the breakfast option which costs you $10 for the room rather than $10 per person for breakfast. They also give you complimentary coffee, drinks, and amazing granola bars in the lobby all day. I snagged three for the road and we devoured them. There is so much to do in the area. I highly recommend: A day touring Vassar College (Class of '07!) Wine tasting the mid hudson (check out Glorie Winery and try the Candy Ass) Walking the old train bridge that is now a walking bridge. Although on the surface this looked like a nice hotel... nicer than other Hilton Garden Inns, the sad reality is it was one of the worst hotels I'd stayed in. Something in the room just made me itchy and no, it wasn't anything I ate, nor was it allergy season. It was either something in the air inside the room or sheets on the bed. Additionally, the drain in the tub was clogged and was so slow the water would pool when showering...as if you were running a bath. It took several minutes to drain. Also, the fridge was so cold it froze items. Thankfully I only stayed for one night. I wouldn't stay here again... lots of other options in the area. read more

Many complaints about this hotel. Believe it or not, the roach at dinner in the dining area was actually the least of it. When my 10 yo daughter and I checked in during Christmas break, we were excited to use the pool. It was 2:30pm. We were told that we could not use the pool until after 5pm because there were swimming lessons going on. On Saturday, we were told to expect the same-swimming lessons all day 9-5. When we arrived at the pool at 5:30, lessons were still going on with no end on site. The lessons, their gear, and the parents literally take over the entire space. There were no towels, no chairs, and a sliver of space in the pool due to the lessons where 3 instructors, children (babies and toddlers) and parents participate. Completely intrusive. There is a huge garbage pail filled to the brim with dirty diapers that had not been emptied in 3 days and began to stink. Due to the high volume of children in the pool, there is so much chlorine in it. I complained to the hotel and Hilton Honors with virtually no response. I'm not sure why the Hilton brand would allow this to go on. The hot tub that we were told we could use without any lessons going on was broken. The breakfast was not as extensive as the many other HGI's I have stayed at in the past. The dinner menu was severely lacking, as was the Sundry Shop. The hotel could also use updating. The restaurant staff is pleasant. The front desk staff was presided over by a young woman named, Rienna who could not have been more rude, unprofessional, and unapologetic. When I mentioned to her the dirty diapers in the pool area, she laughed. She then reprimanded me for taking pictures of the swimming lessons take over. Its almost as if she has some personal attachment to those who run the swim school that exceeds her desire to keep her job at The Hilton. On the flip side her counterpart, PJ, could not have been more professional and understanding. I thoroughly appreciated his attention to the matter, and Hilton is lucky to have him. We wanted to check out and go to the HGI in Danbury, CT but the weather was so inclement that we decided to stay one more night. I wish we could have left. There are MANY hotels in the area. Do yourself and your family a favor and stay in one of those instead. read more

I've stayed in many HGIs over the years and rarely does one set itself apart. I think this is another middle of the road property. The folks at the desk were friendly and supportive enough, maybe even a little more than you expect. The breakfast staff not nearly as much. The young lady in the breakfast room this morning was more occupied with attending to her nails and smartphone than diners. When I walked in I heard her say hello but I had to locate her from across the room. By the time I set eyes on her, she was looking down at her nails again. We didn't exchange words again until I sought her out to give her my meal coupon. As I went to dispose of my trash she did offer to take that for me, so that was something. The hotel is undergoing a remodel now so the normal areas and flow are disrupted but they seem to make to most of the situation. I expect to be back in the area again in a month but I may pick another Hilton property in the area if this is still the case. read more

I'm usually a directions guy. I want to know where I'm going and about how long it's probably going to take to get there. When I was headed to Poughkeepsie for a wedding, however, I had no interest in any of that. Actually, I'm still not completely sure where Poughkeepsie is. Is it near Cape Cod? So I had no idea when we were getting there, but I figured out pretty quickly we were going to be early, definitely well in advance of the 3pm check in. I called in advance and let the hotel know, thinking maybe somebody might note that and possibly might think about trying to get a room ready when I got there. That apparently didn't happen at all, because when I got there not only was there not a room ready, but the person at the front desk looked at me like I was asking to stay in their spare time machine. It wasn't a huge deal. I had friends who had checked in the night before so I had a place to put my stuff, but the service was pretty poor. Even if you know I'm not getting my room until after 3pm, at least pretend to care enough to make me think it might get fixed. Otherwise, this is a perfectly acceptable hotel. Having the Walmart across the street is nice, good for picking up a wedding card and some beer for the room at the same time. There's also a movie theatre and a bunch of restaurants nearby as well. Like I said, it's perfectly fine. Except for my annoyance about the check in time I'd have no problem staying here again, just don't ask them to go the extra mile. read more

I love this Hilton Garden Inn. I have been staying here weekly for about a year now for business and I have nothing but good things to say about it. The property was recently renovated and the lobby and restaurant/bar area is very comfortable and beautifully decorated. The hotel is not too big which gives it a homey feel. Above all is the excellent customer service. The staff is so friendly and accomadating and have made me feel like family. They have a small dinner menu but everything I've tried has been excellent (the salmon is the best) and a great made to order hot breakfast. There is always coffee in the lobby and in the afternoon they put out these delicious soft granola bar cookies:). The staff has really made me feel welcome and at home here. We stayed at this hotel for one night this summer while attending a festival nearby. I was disappointed upon our arrival when I realized that the hotel did not look as nice and up to date as portrayed online. The carpet in our room needed a good shampoo and the pillows on the bed smelled sweaty. In addition, the bathroom in our room was tiny. The front desk staff, even though superficially pleasant were not particularly welcoming. When I requested a room other than the one on the first floor they automatically selected for us, the person that checked us in reminded us, unnecessarily, that we would only be there for one night; he did so with a slightly annoyed look on his face but with a tone that would lead you to think he was being friendly. On the bright side, their breakfast, although not included in the room rate, was good, and the hotel is located close to several restaurants. read more

For years now, I've stayed exclusively at Hilton properties wherever I go. All the brands under the Hilton name reliably offer clean, modern accommodations with friendly, helpful staff - that was until I ended up at this place. Unlike any Hilton property I've been at over the past seven years, this one was older and starting to look rundown. Sure, it was still clean, but you could tell it had a lot of miles on it - from peeling wallpaper to worn carpet. The swimming pool area also had it's share of problems with broken windows that wouldn't open - even as temperatures inside the pool area reached 103 degrees according to a thermostat on the wall. I could almost handle that, but then we were stuck in a smoking room. We made the reservation months in advance and always book non-smoking - which has never been a problem; however, it was "the only room available" despite our reservation. Sorry, we were told. Other people were complaining as well. While this place is probably still a step above, say, some shady motel on the roadside, it certainly is not worthy of the Hilton moniker on the front of the building. Very disappointing. read more

This Hilton was a clean and organized establishment. The staff was friendly and kind. Only downside was that the laundry machines were out of order when we went. The resturaunt down stairs served a buffett for breakfast. My wife has decided that the french toast they made her was some of the best french toast shes ever had. No all hotels are not the same!!! And as far as customer service goes, the team (Ishmael and Jeff) went over the top to correct a check in issue I had. Because of a change in travel plans, I needed to cancel part of a non-cancelable stay that I had used points to book. They were professional and persistent in making sure I was taken care of...Even more so than Hilton's Customer Service group. I cancelled part of my stay and got my points back!!!! Topped off with a free breakfast for the inconvenience. Kudos to both of these guys!!! The Hotel was quiet, clean and comfortable. It is on my list for return the next time I am in the area!!!!! Nice facility, relatively new. However, a drunken wedding party returned to the hotel this morning about 12:20a and turned the 4th floor into party central. I called the front desk twice during a period of about 20 minutes but no one ever answered. The noise calmed down for a while but continued off and on until about 3:00a. This morning I described the situation to the desk clerk who informed me "the phone never rang" and that there must be a problem with the phone in the room. I just called the front desk again and they answered on the first ring. Very disappointing response to the noise and their inability to answer the phone creates a safety issue in my opinion. read more

I had a really great stay here, it was a very clean room, and complimentary coffee was great, and my favorite part of my stay was the hot tub. Most hotels hot tubs usually slack on heat for insurance reasons, but it was a wonderful 107 degrees. Some things to note is that the pool is very small, with a max depth of 4 and a half feet, the tvs are relatively small, and breakfast costs 11$ per person. For a nice night of sleep and nice amenities at a very very fair Hilton price, I would absolutely recommend here. read more

I reserved a room in this hotel for two nights during Memorial Day Weekend because the location was good for a graduation I needed to attend. I booked way in advance (January) to ensure that I'd have a nice place to stay. Upon arrival I felt a little like a fish out of water because they lobby is so nicely done and when I reached the counter to check in, I was treated like a fish out of water. The man at the desk felt a little too judgmental. I was given a room on the first floor, two doors in. Not a big fan of being that close to the lobby/elevators. The room itself is nowhere near as nice as the lobby. Wallpaper is peeling, furnishings are dated, and (I apologize for my lack of knowledge of the proper term) the little lever that converts the drain flow to shower head didn't want to stay up. The pool room was a bit too warm as well but I suspect that's because it was nearly 90 degrees Fahrenheit and the room is made of windows. I am giving it two stars because the air conditioning works well and when I won the battle with the shower, the water was HOT and didn't run out which is exactly what I needed after a long road trip. I paid a lot more for this room than it deserves. read more
