I like the set up of the rooms - has a desk, couch, comfortable bed. The size isnt big but suitable. Seems clean on the surface but you do notice little things like stains on the toilet seat or stains/dirt on the couch. maybe housekeeping can do a better job? overall, friendly staff, the ladys name is Tia. My friend locked herself out of her room and literally under a minute, Tia shows up to the rescue. they have microwave, free wifi, coffee, refrigerator, your own thermostat to get the room as warm or cold as youd like, and iron! they also have the best continental breakfast ! read more

I would not recommend staying here. The rooms look nothing like the pictures. Look at my photos for what this place really looks like. Our room was very dingy and smelled like it used to be a smoking room. Everything was gross looking or sticky. The sheets were old and thin. Everything in the bathroom was yellowed. But the worst thing was you walk in and the first thing you see on the shelf is a gross yellow stained pillow with no case on it. Fire alarm at 8:30 am. No trucks for 40 minutes. Their system did not trigger 911. A guest eventually got annoyed and called 911. Alarm was someone smoking in a hall. Wild that the hotel manager didn't call 911 when no trucks came. Nice out so we were at a table outside of the breakfast room. Our room was dingy at best. Mildewy smell. Surfaces felt sticky. Rug was damp. Mold in bathroom. Dirty towel left hanging. No other rooms available. Other local hotels booked. Breakfast was fine for complimentary breakfasts. The usual offerings but clean setting. Stay elsewhere. I'm usually pretty easy to please but not this time. Staff was very nice and apologetic about our room and glitch in their emergency system. read more

I typically stay at Hilton properties whenever possible and this Hanpton Inn was not even close to the quality and cleanliness I that usually comes with Hilton. Our room was gross. Stains all over the bathroom, someone's old soap in the shower, musty room smell and stains on the couch. After reaching out through the app it took several hours for someone to get back to us and by the time they did, it was too late to even change rooms. This was the worst experience I've had a Hilton ever. I've been an Honors member for years now and I'm surprised at how terrible this Hampton Inn was. read more

During my stay, their oven was down--and rather than making any attempt to accommodate guests, they simply said, "Sorry, we can't cook anything." Never mind that there's a microwave sitting right there on the counter. They could've easily grabbed some Jimmy Dean sandwiches or something similar from a local store and provided a simple warm breakfast. But effort isn't part of the equation here. They've clearly cut staffing to the bone, too. I haven't seen a single attendant during breakfast hours. The counters were dirty, trash was on the floor, and--true to form--they were out of coffee. When I voiced my frustration out loud, the front desk clerk, busy grabbing her own bagel, didn't say a word. No apology. No refill. No concern. When I checked in late the night before, I hadn't had dinner and asked politely if I could grab one of the snacks. I was told, "Only two items." I'm a Lifetime Diamond member with Hilton and travel constantly. This location might look nice--don't let the physical plant fool you--but behind the walls, it's a mess. No service. No cleanliness. No hospitality. If you're in the area, I strongly recommend the Courtyard just across the way. It's night and day. This Hampton is an embarrassment to the Hilton brand. I stayed at this hotel for three weeks. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The pool was green and unusable for the first week and a half. The elevator was out of service for two weeks. The ice machine was initially broken, and once repaired, it dispensed dirty ice. The "free WiFi" was advertised as good enough to check emails, but I couldn't even load my inbox. I ended up having to pay nearly $100 for the so-called "premium WiFi." One day, the cleaning staff nearly got into a fist fight right outside my room. I was given a towel that was supposedly clean but had visible dirt stains and what looked like dried, crusty paint on it. The shower didn't drain properly, which made every shower feel like I was standing in a puddle. On a positive note, the AC in my room worked great--it was like an icebox, which I prefer. The complimentary breakfast was okay, though it lacked variety. I'll keep driving right past this hotel next time. read more

We were happy to find a place close to Lego land (about a 10 minute drive) that was affordable (we used booking.com and it was $159 versus $650 plus to stay at Lego land hotel. The pool was nice but a big murky. The staff were nice. The room was clean enough. The breakfast was great though- breakfast potatoes, bacon, eggs, made to order waffles, cereal, juice, coffee, yogurt, bagels, muffins. I was impressed by that for sure. The beds were a bit uncomfortable for the adults but kids liked them. Definitely recommend. read more

Housekeeping checked our room every 2 days which was very nice. If you are in the area I would recommend this hotel. We checked into our room and immediately noticed mold on the walls. I went to the front desk to request a new room and showed them the photos. The check-in person apologized and put our family into another room on the floor above. In that room none of the appliances worked (tv, fridge, microwave). I had to move the microwave out of the built in unit to find that the surge protector was turned off. Not a huge deal, but just another inconvenience when all I needed to do was get my kids to bed. Why it was off in the first place is another question. I hope that room gets deep cleaned. I've been a Hilton Honors member for 10+ years and have never seen a property with mold like this in a room. So far 2 stars. Not a Hilton but a Super 8. Not classy at all. Maybe Hilton shouldn't give their name out so haphazardly. Arrived early and was told our room was available but if we wanted to check in it would be an additional $20. Wtf? No thanks. Went to eat and came back for free check in. Also had the experience of being charged more than agreed upon. Was told it's for incidentals. Better be removed when we check out. Absolutely no incidentals I'd need from here. Prices are super high for Middletown NY. Really we are not near any major attractions or venues. Here for a wedding so at least we got in on the group rate. Where the hell is the closet? Oh, behind the curtain on the wall. There are 3 hooks and some hangers and an ironing board. In the bathroom which needs to be regrouted, there were hairs (not ours) in the shower and black marks on the ceiling, wall and towels. Also, it's dark AF in here. The limited lights are pretty dim. No ceiling light either. Lights are dim in the bathroom also, with no make up mirror or bright light. Guess I already know what I look like so ....And no cups either. Oh wait, found some paper cups under the TV. I always check the mattress for tiny friends and there aren't any. Thank heavens but there's no mattress pad either. Just a thin bottom sheet over the actual mattress. I'm trying to forget this or I might vomit. Won't have their breakfast, we're having it elsewhere with friends but I wouldn't count on it being anything to write home about. The best thing is that we are Hilton Honors members so we'll get some points, but we should have stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott next door instead. The amazing friends and wonderful wedding will make up for all of this. And it's really just a decent place to stay overnight, not to hang out. read more

Stayed here 2 different times. Don't bother with digital key check in they required some type of verification to access the key?? The 1st time I visited was lovely. easy to check in and quick checkout, no issues. My 2nd time visit is the reason why I'm giving this 2 stars. I checked in on the app and when I arrived a room wasn't ready for me yet. there was a wait time for rooms to be cleaned. They are severely understaffed apparently. I heard the cleaning staff going up and down the halls at 9:30 pm ! I think this location is going downhill. I saw they had booked 7 weddings that weekend so I understand they're busy, but if they're short staffed and drowning in the responsibilities then there's something about the business that people don't like working for. High rates of employment turnover is never good. Also, I overheard another guest upset about them being charged a late fee even though they were there an hour prior to check in. They too didn't have a room ready for them so really it wasn't the guests fault that he was late. He shouldn't have been charged the fee. The manager politely gave him the information for her supervisor but I wasn't a fan of how the interaction was handled on guest services end. When I checked out the supposed manager didn't even know how to adjust prices to do the tax exempt form. While I'd love to give this place another chance, I don't know if I can risk it since I travel for business and am on a pretty tight schedule read more

I felt so misled by the reviews online about this place. I don't understand how they're so high, to the point that it makes me think they're being bought or written by bots? Don't be like me and choose this place over others bc you see "4.5/5 stars" Our room was SO small, with scuff and dirt marks all over the wall, the bathroom had hair and grime on the floors, there wasn't even a real shower curtain, also just a makeshift "closet," the fridge didn't work, the elevator smelled like feces, the wifi didn't work, no water in the rooms, the bedding was falling apart, etc.... And room service only comes if you request it? All for $320 a night after fees? I was appalled. There wasn't even a notepad or pen in the room! I was also given no receipt or explanation of charges when asked to swipe my card upon check in. I was told a different price that was way higher than what I booked. When I asked why, the man at the front desk didn't know why or how to explain it to me, and had no way of providing me with a cost breakdown or receipt... The screen on the credit card reader didn't even work. By far the dingiest hotel I've stayed in for the most outrageous price. And it's not even in a desirable city... felt like robbery. read more

Once I got in the shower, I discovered the shower gel was empty. Trash accumulating in the hallway. The "hot" breakfast was practically empty each time I tried - and what was left was ice cold. The milk was empty. The coffee was empty. Upon checkout, I asked for a receipt for my job - and shockingly, the printer was broken also. I'm a devoted Hilton member - next time I have to be here, I'll stay at the Courtyard by Marriott next door. read more

Our stay, my mom and I was excellent. The staff made the entire experience worth every bit of the seven days we needed to care for and see over my Dad's inpatient stay at Garnet, as well as be there as daughter and care giver for my Mom. My Dad has since died in March and was a hero through and through but be hated the hospital stays and always worried about my Mom and me. Well, we were very fortunate and blessed to find a Hotel close by (5 mins to Garnet) with an all inclusive caring staff for us at the Hampton Inn by Hilton in Middletown NY. I wanted to begin with Sam, the Master breakfast/morning man. Sam took are of every individual in that dining room every morning I saw him, with a smile and a patient, respectful, happy and kind heart. He not only served so well, he made sure you received as close to what you needed from what was there to work with. The food was always tasty, hot and plentiful. Thank you Sam you will not be forgotten!!! Best of everything life has to offer you as you continue to grow and prosper, I have no doubt. Sonam and Jasmine worked the front desk with a welcoming smile and patience for everyone no matter how long the line. They genuinely cared for your needs and sort through the nonsense to find the answer, despite some rude customers. Both ladies were kind and professional. Great job in Customer Service. Finally Stacy, the hardworking Mom and one of the most, I'm sure, treasured managers working at this Hampton Inn. She was on call as needed and always would solve the issue, should there be one. We checked in on a Sunday night. The room and shower looked clean. To be honest Im always weary about the couch and desk chair. The bed was comfy but the sheets & blanket were rough for my personal taste. My fiancé needs extra pillows so he walked down to the front desk and asked for three extra. The women at the front desk told him first she was not sure where to find extra pillows, and then that they had no extra pillows. When my fiancé came upstairs and said they did not have three extra pillows I said maybe it was the amount You asked for? So he called the front desk and asked for one or two extra pillows? Once again he was told No extra pillows. Now he was annoyed he asked the women this is a hotel with four floors You dont have one extra pillow? Again it was a NO. Maybe before housekeeping leaves they should bring a big bag of clean pillows up in a tied plastic bag. That the front desk can leave in the office behind them so they available pillows for paying guests. Finally the only other perk was the breakfast buffet - small muffins, bagels, english muffins, oatmeal, make your own waffles, cereal, mini cheese omelettes and yucky turkey sausage. Wish if they offered turkey sausage they would offer regular sausage or bacon also. Drinks - Ice Water, Apple, Orange, and Cranberry juice, hot water for tea, plus reg and decafe coffee. read more

The room itself is 4-star but communication here was not too great. We tried calling so many times and no one was "available ". We had to call the central 1-800 number to adjust our reservation and even they couldn't contact the hotel! Then when we got there we were met with a not so friendly 'come back later you don't have a reservation because you didn't show up' and it took us a while to try and explain that we called and rearranged with the central Hilton people and even they could not contact the hotel. In the end we got our rooms, but not the ones we wanted, and after much back-and-forth. They do have laundry and an outdoor pool! The mini fridge does not have a freezer. read more

Pleasant Hilton property located in the Middletown area. Convenient to restaurant and highways. Relatively quiet and clean rooms. Decent buffet breakfast although I always avoid any of the hot buffet style meals at almost every hotel I stay at making it hard to judge based on Raisin Bran. The property is well kept and feels safe. My only knock is that the pricing is a little high but given the area it's one of the better deals. I'd book again. read more

However -- even though the hotel was fully booked, two lovely women at the desk found a way to accommodate us. Despite the late hour (near 8 pm) a 3rd lovely person made up a new room for us. My teenaged daughter and I stay in the area somewhat regularly, and over the years we have stayed at all the local hotels. Never before have we been treated with such down to earth warmth and understanding. It was not their fault -- it was hotel.com's error. But, these lovely ladies made it right. This place has a beautiful lobby and dining room. Very happy with it. Also I liked the snacks that are for sale in the lobby. They offer a pretty decent breakfast buffet... BUT you if you don't have time to sit they have HOT BAGS to go at the desk for those in a rush! What a great concept. Unfortunately they loose a star b/c the constant loud sound of the heater turning on/off ALL night. Totally kept me up... (Not to mention the sound of the snow blows. CG and I were in Middletown for a wedding and Hampton Inn was the hotel of our choice for an overnight stay. We were thoroughly impressed. Despite there being 5 other weddings in the area that weekend, and our room being close to one of the exits, we did not notice any noise. The room was extremely spacious -- the super high ceilings really added to the roominess. The bed was firm, just the way I like. The bathroom was also a good size and contained Neutrogena products. The great water pressure in the shower was really appreciated after a long day. They had a standard complimentary breakfast buffet which is always nice. I saw options like bagels, bacon, yogurt, oatmeal and self made to order waffles to name a few. I only had coffee and breakfast potatoes which I enjoyed. FYI, the only other food options in the immediate area are a Chili's and Soho Grill, both walking distance. I don't believe I'll find myself in MIddletown too often in the future but would not hesitate to stay at Hampton Inn again. read more

It's unfortunate that Hampton Inn has such an unfair policy regarding blocks of rooms reserved for a wedding. When I called to reserve a room for a family wedding, the wedding rate ($170 per night) was unavailable and I was charged $307 per night ($372 with taxes and fees). That's quite a difference and quite unfair to the guests who are staying there because of the wedding, as well as the bride and groom who went out of their way to reserve the rate and are bringing additional business to the hotel. The rate should be extended to every guest who is staying there because of this event. Given the huge difference in the rates and the fact that $372 is totally overpriced for a Hampton Inn, I am curious as to whether the hotel raises its rates knowing that they will be getting extra business because of the wedding. As a Hilton Honors member, I am dismayed and disappointed. read more

If you are a sports team coming for a tournament do NOT book this hotel. They are not kid/group friendly. The weather is crappy (raining, storms) so we were all in the lobby (group of 25-30 people) and we weren't able to have conversations. We have groups of people sitting at different tables talking and we are too loud. We are giving them multiple rooms at multiple nights and the service has been rude. We've stayed at many hotels with different sports groups and this has been the worst experience. read more
