I feel very disappointed. This property is old, dated and run down. Things are falling apart. Construction has the whole front of the building torn up. The lobby area is being torn up too. Can't believe they are charging full price while all of this mess is going on. The first thing I saw was balconies and blinds falling apart. I most disappointed that I was told incorrect information. This is my first time here. When I spoke on the phone, I asked if there were some good options with restaurants within walking distance. I was told there was. That wasn't true. This isn't any place I would recommend or come back to. Can't believe this is a Marriott property. read more

My teen son and I visited UK for two days and stayed overnight at the Courtyard. We booked in advance online and received a few reminders, including the option to complete the check in process before arrival. The hotel was less than 3 miles from the university and I appreciated there was no need to get on an expressway when coming or going from there. It is near exits/entrances to the expressway but tucked in enough to not hear highway noise. The surrounding setting is a bit industrial. The hotel itself feels renovated. The lobby and eating area is updated and modern. The interior of the rooms are as well and felt clean. What I wasn't crazy about is that each room had a sliding door with a small patio/balcony, including the first floor. I did not feel comfortable with being on the first floor because of this and was happy when we got our preference of floors. We slept well, both for a pre-dinner nap and our overnight. Our room did experience an issue with our lock. When we left for dinner it became stuck and took a few minutes to go in so that we could shut the door. This happened again at check out and that time we left it open and reported it to the staff. For the price, breakfast is not included in the hotel stay. Private parking lot. An interior court and patio offers plenty of outdoor seating. Indoor pool and gym available. Friendly service at check in and out. We'd stay here again for a short visit, especially if visiting UK. read more

It was ok. I stopped here during a drive from Chicago to Asheville, NC in July 2021 because I knew I could not manage the full drive, especially leaving in the afternoon. Check-in was quick and easy, which I was thankful for. The guys at the desk gave me a list of restaurants since it was late and food was welcome. The had a very large area with dining tables so I assume they have a complementary breakfast (at least, pre-pandemic), but I didn't partake in this the following day. The room was ok, though the couch was kind of stylized to look futuristic or something? It wasn't comfortable. And the rolling table had a leg that was kind of breaking off. But the bed was comfortable, and when you arrive after 10 pm all you're really doing is getting ready for bed. I did appreciate that there was a patio-type door that allowed us to leave that way the following morning, rather than wander the hallways with others. We hadn't seen it the night before, unfortunately, but it was useful when we left. read more

There are no microwaves in the room, only 1 for the entire floor in the ice machine room, breakfast says it's included but my mother-in-law got 3-4 rooms and now all of a sudden nobody has breakfast assigned to their room? And I've never heard a hotel only allowing 1 person from a room to eat breakfast. They decided to have an active balcony which is fine but.... We had ants in our room didn't feel like complaining because we only had to stay for 1 night but still. Maintenance didn't speak English she couldn't help me just not an overall bad experience never coming back. read more

As a lifetime titanium member, I spend more nights than I can count in Marriott properties of all levels. This one was booked as a one night stop on a road trip down south with my husband and daughter. There were multiple weather-related accidents on the way down so we arrived to this room at 1:30 in the morning. It was clear that an employee discovered we would be arriving late and used the room for a shower and a TV break. The room was absolutely disgusting. I asked for another but they were fully booked, and the only employee on site was a very nice, very professional and very embarrassed front desk person. His only option was to give me sheets and supplies to clean my own room. Which I did. In the morning I visited the manager, who was equally as embarrassed and offered to comp the room (I used a free night so that wouldn't be helpful). So he offered 30k points which I accepted. They were not provided. My free night wasn't deducted but expires in a few days so I effectively was an unpaid employee of the Courtyard Lexington for the night in a Filthy room during a pandemic. Always feels like this is in an odd place to me so don't be put off as the outside seems old. but the inside has been redone and the staff is very attentive. Typical Courtyard amenities with the cafe up front where you can work to your heart's content as you savor one of their wines or simple dishes. I had the grilled cheese and tomato soup and it was pretty tasty. The wine I wanted was pricey so I settled for a pinot noir but nice that I had a choice. The rooms are clean and easy to work in and sleep in. And this hotel has some of the best water pressure around. I could have stood in that shower for much longer than my schedule allowed. All in all a good choice when visiting Lexington. read more

Perfect place to get away for the night after New Years festivities. My husband is a Gold Elite Marriott Rewards member so we were able to check in super early and get ready here instead of at home. And do I mention they upgraded us to a suite because of his status...winning!! Very spacious but a bit much for us considering we would'nt be in the room much to enjoy it all. We had a balcony of the courtyard. Upon walking in to the room it was a smoldering 85 degrees, yes that's what the thermostat was set to so we immediately turned it down and it cooled fairly quickly. I will say the position of the sofa in the living room was a bad spot as the air blew directly towards it eating up any air that could circulate in that room. The bed was comfy and plush as usual with plenty of pillows. They do have a bar in this particular location but it doesn't open until like 5pm EST. All in all a good little getaway at a local hotel to meet our needs for the night. read more

I wasn't impressed. The thermostat shut down after 9pm, so I woke up sweating. You see a lot of that in hotels these days, with their motion-detector thermostats. Thanks, guys...you'd think $150 for a night's stay would get me 8 hours of AC, but no. The computers in the Business Center off the lobby didn't work. I tried to check Wunderground for cities along my route and the browser (IE, of course) kept locking up, locking up Windows as well. I moved to the next computer on the desk and the same thing happened. Eventually, I had three of them locked up before I gave up. My room's mattress had a sunken spot right where your butt would be about the size of a basketball. I rotated the mattress 90 degrees to get a flatter area and noticed a hypodermic needle that had fallen between the mattress and the headboard and was laying on the edge of the box spring. Maybe for someone's insulin...maybe for something less savory. I left it there. On the plus side, there's a nice 10-mile multipurpose path right behind the hotel, and there were TWO pools (indoor and outdoor), one of which you could actually swim in (as opposed to most hotel pools today). read more

I thought the place was nice until I got my credit card bill. I booked the room through Expedia. Upon arrival they asked for my credit card and said wouldn't be charged anything but needed on file. I was billed $5.30. I tried calling but it just kept me in a cycle of no one answering. I looked on line and saw reviews that it has happened to others and is for parking. It's an easy access express way hotel. No signs saying anything about parking fees. I've never been billed parking for a clearly traveling hotel. It's not in a city where you might understand it. We stayed at this facility two times in the last couple of weeks. We were traveling with our grandchildren, so I booked both stays via phone to make sure that we got two rooms with an adjoining door. With emphasis on the need to have connecting rooms. The first stay was on 7/22/2022 and there was no major problems. Initially we were not given connecting rooms but they fixed this quickly. The second stay on 7/29/2022, I checked in but was given two rooms that were across the hall from each other. I did not find this out until we got to the rooms so I went back to the front desk and explained that I had booked and expected the rooms to be next to each other with a connecting door. The night manager said that she saw where I reserved a connecting room with a king size bed and the other with two queen size beds. I explained that I did not care about the beds and that the most important need was having connected rooms. She said that there was nothing available so I had her call her manager, (Nathan Locklear). She explained to him what I wanted so she gave the phone to me to talk with Nathan further. Nathan explained that they do not allow reservations for connected rooms and that there were no more rooms available that were connected. I re-affirmed that when I made the phone call and explained what I needed there was no push back that this was not available. I also explained that we had stayed at this facility just a week earlier and there was no problem. Nathan's response was that Marriott only considers requests like mine as suggestion and not a commitment on Marriott's behalf and further commented that he could refund the room charges for the night and I could go find a connected rooms at a different hotel on my own. About this time the night manager jumped in and said that she found two connected rooms that were reserved for airlines stays and that she could put us in those rooms and give other rooms to the airlines company. read more

We just needed it for a night. Every staff member we connected with was super nice. Pretty clean room. The shower had wonderful water pressure but don't look up because there's a vent that you can see right into and there's so much dirt and dust in it! I thought a rat would fall out. The two beds are fulls not queens (which we knew). Good smelling shampoo and soap...even came with a makeup wipe. We bought ice cream and candy from the lobby store though and it was bad...however we were able to exchange it once we brought it to their attention. Some spots on carpet. Bedding is good but the pillows SINK. Lobby is really nice. Overall, good for a stop. read more

I first want to give a shout out to the breakfast crew. My husband and I ate there on the morning of 2/17/19 (the morning after the big win over Tenn!) The food was so fresh and delicious, I was sad we weren't staying for another morning. The staff was walking around diligently clearing plates and offering coffee refills to people. I even heard the manager tell his team they did a job well done on a busy morning rush. You can tell the morale there is good. Not to mention we were able to sit in a booth with our own TV so we could watch highlights of the UK win. Also, the people working the check in counter were friendly and welcoming. It is for all of these reasons and more that we will gladly be staying there our next time in town! read more

From the outside, this hotel is just alright, however, when you get inside, it is very warm and inviting. The front desk people were very friendly and the lobby was very clean and put together. They have a beautifully decorated lounge area with tons of seating, tv's, and tables perfect for just relaxing and chilling. The rooms are really nice for the price, clean, and each room has a walkout​ balcony. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because of the location (not much nearby) and the bistro downstairs doesn't offer that many food items and the Starbucks only offered one size iced coffees, one flavor of sugar-free​ syrup, and didn't offer heavy whipping cream. Not sure why they even serve Starbucks if you can't get what you normally do from there!? Other than that, I enjoyed my stay. read more

I am a Marriott rewards member and Marriott is my primary hotel when i travel weekly for work. Due to hurricane Florence my flight was cancelled and i had to cancel all work reservations including my stay here. I gave more than 24hr notice and cancelled on my Marriott app. Apparently this hotel has a 48hr cancellation policy and even though there was a hurricane ripping through the east coast that still wasn't a good enough reason for me to cancel my hotel reservation and not get charged. Nope, they charged me the full 131.16 because i didn't cancel within 48hrs and instead cancelled as soon as i found out my flight was cancelled... I've called this hotel 6 times leaving multiple voicemails for the managers and have yet to get a returned call from anyone. I'd highly recommend taking your business else where!! read more

Staff was very hospitable - seriously - not a cranky one amongst the bunch I met. And...yes...there was a fair amount to be less than pleasant about, given that the entire state was either homebound last week (due to weather [snow and ice] / road conditions) or taking their lives in their hands whilst traveling (even to local jobs), working double or triples...am guessing that more than one of them had been staying onsite 24/7. Fairly impressive that they were still all competence and smiles. Just an FYI, if you don't know much about the geography of Lexington - hotels in this area trend towards longer stay and deal-oriented corporate accounts, not really touristy / racing / spa-vacation type places. It's not terribly inconvenient, Lexington-proper-wise, but it's also not convenient unless you're visiting one of the many offices right on Newtown, since Lexington seems to be the center of a particularly strange traffic vortex. By that, I mean, it seems to me, after years of getting around in Lexington, that to reliably get from place to place on schedule (meaning in town, but more than a couple of miles), I need to budget an hour if 4 is involved with any combination of any two major Lexington roadways. On the plus side, if you're checking in here, in general, you're traveling in the opposite direction of more significant traffic, so, I guess, it could be worse. They have bar service with limited food availability - that's a definite plus, as there isn't much in the immediate area, aside from gas station food or McDs / Subway. I didn't try the food, though. The public spaces were fairly updated and appeared clean and comfortable. I'm not sure that I'm sold on the "Courtyard" concept, especially for an area serving mostly business travelers. The King-sized bedroom layout that the concept dictates, though, is terrible if you're not a very heavy sleeper, especially at this location, which has three separate entry and elevator locations (for a 3 story hotel) just on the right side of the building (not including the lobby / main entrance). Overhearing literally every word of every conversation that occurred outside my room for days fairly made me lose my mind. It's three am (and a weeknight), assholes, you're surrounded by rooms, please do hold court with your loud and offensive standup schtick while waiting for an elevator to take you up (at most) two flights of stairs. Room was clean. Including bath. Towels were bad: thin and sandpapery. Someone had aimed the shower head at the ceiling, which drenched the shower / commode area immediately when I tried to take a shower...making it a slippery mess. Appreciated varying pillow densities (no really, that accounts for a whole star!! If there's a poll: loved 2 despised 3 - but that's better than the "all - or - nothing" uniform pillows offered by most hotels), but otherwise bedding is fairly threadbare. At 3 am on my first night, the alarm clock (which I'd completely ignored, not needing or wanting it) went off unexpectedly. Yeah. That plus the shower...good to see the previous guest was an adult. I suppose I should be glad that housekeeping probably caught the saran wrapped toilet seat, the penny-blocked door latch, and making the light switched cause more than a minor electrical shock. The wall of windows certainly didn't make temperature control easy on what amounted to several of the coldest nights of the year in KY...but that's not their fault. Are several of these things necessarily the hotel's fault? Again, mostly not...but they do speak to guests having a comfortable experience at this location, given clientele (ftlog - hometraining, please!) and layout / service availability. Good service does count for something, but some of these things make for a less than comfortable experience here. read more

We decided to venture off of our usual route home from Ohio and go through Lexington. So we had no plans or reservations and just stopped at the welcome center to pick up a couple of the coupon books you always see there. And this hotel was in there for a great price. We called the number and were routed to a central booking which told us that there weren't any rooms at that rate and that it was only for weekends and that Sunday nights started the work week and didn't qualify. Looked at the coupon again and it said it was good for every day of the week not just weekends so we called the number again and made a different selection to go straight to the hotel and not get routed to central reservations. The lady that answered was very friendly and said that the rate was good and that they cannot reserve a room for that rate but that she had rooms and there shouldn't be an issue since we would be there within the hour. We got there and there was almost no one there so it was very quiet and peaceful. The front desk lady was very friendly and efficient at checking us in. I can't remember when we have been checked in so quickly and we didn't have reservations. So I definitely give them an A+ for that. I would definitely stay here again. This is situated back off the main hubbub so you feel like you have found an oasis. Of course the surrounding area is beautiful with it's long stretches of white rail fences and grazing fields. It's been newly renovated and even the rooms on the exterior have little balconies that look out on the parking lot and the woods that envelope the whole site. But having seen the courtyard, I would definitely request a courtyard room. There is a sort of snack bar/restaurant/bar located in the lobby where you can purchase drinks, breakfast, lunch or dinner. And a small 'store' to purchase anything else. The lobby has been redesigned with nice sitting spaces, cozy conversation areas, and great technology nooks. read more

There was certainly nothing memorable about this hotel, but for the price my company paid I'd say it was a very good deal. Rooms were reasonably spacious and spotlessly clean and the front desk staff was very polite and efficient. The free copies of USA Today and the Wall Street Journal were a nice touch. As I said, nothing about this hotel really wowed me, but it was a comfortable and economical place to stay for a night during a business trip. read more

The Breakfast server had an attitude because I came in 30 minutes before they closed for breakfast, the front desk denied me a late checkout despite being an elite status member. This is a nice hotel, staff is very polite(southern hospitality). Went to the hotel bar and had a drink, I would say a few drinks but after we ordered our first drink the bartender had a slew of customers wanting food which took away from our service because he had to make food for the many customers. I observed the front desk lady step up and help with what she could. The fact that the person behind the bar had to divert his attention from paying patrons made him potentially lose money as well as the hotel. Regardless of this inconvenience, we still tipped very well because we recognized the fact that he was under staffed. Future recommendations would be that there is one bartender, and one prep cook to accommodate all needs of the customers. read more

We travel all over the US , and all over the world... When in the states, it is often for horse show related competitions... We were here 16 days it could not have been any better than here! Jasmine and Jennifer at the front desk were wonderful! Margaritque was joyous and funny, and Rebecca with housekeeping ALWAYS went above and BEYOND to go out of her way, with anything that was needed!! We initially were in a tiny room, 109... There was NO WAY that was going to work for two type A people,and then add an Army Colonel who was flying in to meet us... I spoke to jerry, at the time,( the manager who has since moved on to greener promotions in NOLA) and he immediately got us moved to a fabulous King Suite! room 128! We were here for National Finals, and we plan on being back next year! We WILL stay here, and we WILL request this suite!! When we checked in and realized the refrigerators were pretty small, moreso than normal, they gave us two! When I mentioned that I was going to Sam's to set things up to make "crock pot food" for our team during the duration here, they brought me a power strip! There laundry facility was right next to the suite, as was the pool access and that made a long stay even that more enjoyable! We were able to park right by the entrance area for our room, so coming and going was a breeze! And, have I mentioned the staff is beyond fabulous??!! Oh, yes, and the beds are SUPER comfy!!! Traveling through Lexington my family and I decided to stop for the night in Lexington, the hotel itself is very nice, clean, the beds are very comfortable. Oh, and I guess it was a big deal before, but Wi-Fi is free. The front desk could use an attitude adjustment. We tried to call them from our room more than once and they just never picked up the phone. I went down to the lobby and the clerk and cook from the bistro were chilling in front of a TV getting their March Madness on. I travel a lot for business and I want my family to receive the same level of accommodations I get when I travel. It always boils down to customer service, always. read more

As a resident of Versailles, my fiancee and myself decided that we wanted to get away for a night, and picked Courtyard as our hotel of choice. To begin, the price of the room was fair, until you see the room in person. For the amenities, the size, and the comfort of the room, this hotel is a steal. All of the staff we came in contact with was very polite and courteous, the room was in immaculate condition upon arrival, among other great things. I normally have back problems with different beds, but theirs are quite comfortable. Overall, this hotel felt more like "home" than any other room we had ever been in. I would definitely recommend Courtyard to anyone looking for a room for the night, the week, or as an escape. I hope to do business here again. read more
