Our room was large, clean, and modern. All staff were friendly and helpful. They offer a nice (for purchase) breakfast and happy hour. The hotel is near plenty of shopping and dining but it's off the road enough to be quiet. I wish we could have stayed for a few days (rather than just one night) to take advantage of all of the amenities. We will definitely stay here again since we come to the area often. read more

Stayed here for an extended stay, rooms were dirty and had caked on dirt on the floor, my kids slept on the sofa bed and were bit by bed bugs, The girls in the front were so glued to their phones...I wanted to buy a few drinks and she wouldn't even look at me, just said "yeah uh huh"..I asked several times for our room to be cleaned and it never was, got new towels that's all, no new soap, toilet paper, sheets, anything...so disappointed in this courtyard.. worse experience ever! Fantastic! All you need. In the middle of nowhere and this is fab!! Beds are comfy abd pillows soft. Sheets are great and clean yay! Carpet is a lil old school but in great condition. ADA room shower and tub are great. Didn't need ADA but this room had a beautiful room so I took it. Limited soap and hair product. Views are spectacular. Sunrise is amazing. Service was top notch. Having stayed at two different hotels in Morgantown within 5 days, this hotel is the hands down winner! I was bummed when I drove up and saw construction going on right next door, up on the hill. I thought, great, more noise waking everyone up at 7 am. But, it didn't happen! No noise! After check in, I went up to my room and saw that my room was right off the elevator area. Went right back down to lobby and requested a room nowhere near the elevators. The employee at the desk was very accommodating and said he had an ADA room if that was ok. I said sure as long as I wasn't taking room from someone who needed it. He assured me they have plenty handicapped rooms so off I went. New room was all of the way down the hall and was very quiet! Awesome! Room itself was spotless. Decor was nice and room was decorated enough that it actually felt kind of cozy. Mattress was nice, pillows great, too. You can't beat the location of this hotel - I ran to Dollar Tree, Old Navy and grabbed Panda Express for dinner - all within very close proximity. Target is nearby, gas, Five Below, etc. I'd stay here again in a minute! View from my room was so pretty, too! read more

Stayed here for a long weekend with my siblings to visit our nephew who works and attends WVU. The place was super clean and staff was helpful and attentive to our needs. The views from the room overlooking Morgantown and the campus were spectacular. Especially the early morning sunrise over the mountains. The hotel is located across from the baseball field which was perfect for us to catch a couple games while in town. Plenty a good restaurants and shopping in the area. absolutely infuriating that the hotel staff are not required to wear masks and walk right by you. Now I'm going to have to quarantine when I get home and miss work. The best that corporate offered me was a verbal apology and refused to show me a medical exemption form or a negative test from the staff. Yesterday 3 staff were without masks in the public spaces. So finding this Courtyard is no easy task. This is one of those locations where you'll need to put down the GPS & use the hotel's directions to find this Marriott. I recently stayed here while in town for work, and it's now going to be my go to Morgantown hotel. The place is brand new and everything is beautiful, it even sits on top of a mountain so you'll get some pretty cool views of Morgantown during your stay. While here I took advantage of the gym which is located on the main floor. It's a decent size and has everything you would expect from a hotel gym. Additionally this hotel has a decent size pool for your use. There's no complementary breakfast, but there is a small bistro which has some great breakfast options. Nice, clean hotel with good views (at least from some rooms). The night we were staying, Marriott seemed to be down for online booking and by the time we managed to book, there were only one-king rooms left, which is a lot harder for a family with two kids to make work. Our son couldn't really get comfortable in a way that worked and I end up sleeping on the non-sleeper couch to make it work. None of that is really the hotel's fault though. The good news is that the view from the room was a really picturesque view of the valley below with the river running by. The bad news is (as with all Courtyard's) there's no free breakfast. Not having a fast way to feed the kids as you head out for the morning is a pretty significant hit for us on the road. Our bad, we should have known better. On the way home we stayed at the similarly-priced Fairfield Inn and Suites for the breakfast and we'll do that next time. read more

Our stay was excellent from start to finish. Our son (age 8) had to have surgery done which ended with him being is casts on both feet. To begin Ben helped us book at a special rate for medical visits which helped immensely. The hotel was very clean and all the staff was very nice. The night before the surgery we enjoyed the very nice heated pool since we knew our little guy wouldn't get to play in the pool for the next 6 weeks. After the surgery we got back to the hotel and everyone working was super helpful and accommodating. One of the super sweet women working gifted our son a snack from the convenience store they have on property for practicing his walking which was so kind. Ben even signed our sons cast. We felt so comfortable and well taken care of which is exactly what we needed. Thank you to all the staff at The Courtyard Marriott Morgantown. read more

I just checked in for a possible 2 night stay. I booked through travelocity which was easy. The rate was really reasonable for how nice the hotel is. I am in town because I have family in the hospital near here. Due to covid19 not all services are operating ie the pool, bar, and restaurant. They do have a small continental breakfast available in the morning. I don't know if this is just weekends he didn't say specifically. Checkin was really easy and the person that checked us in was very polite and helpful. The rooms are very nice. See pics. Our view of the river is amazing! This hotel is relatively new and clean. It features 103 rooms and 4 suites. You're welcomed by a friendly staff and walk into a room that is modern and comfortable. I experienced a really good night's sleep in their plush bedding. They offer two tiers of internet access and their TV comes with dozens of HD channels. Delighted to see the TV on a swing arm that could be angled to either the office type desk or directly to the bed. My room had a small mini fridge which was great for bottled water. I missed the traditional metal luggage racks, but their furniture is contoured to accommodate one bag. Their nightstands were too small for the arsenal of electronics the modern traveler now has to plug in and charge. The bathroom was super clean and spacious, but one huge negative is a shower that doesn't have a full closure. It's a single pane of glass with just an opening. That led to water spray all over the bathroom floor. Seriously, who designs and approves these things? They stocked the room with a pretty decent hair dryer and had plenty of towels available to the guest. The riverside rooms have a beautiful view of the city and they have this awesome fire pit in the back. It's a shame they cover it and don't keep it up year round. Parking is plentiful, but pulling out of the hotel can be a real pain with high traffic volume for the nearby strip malls and restaurants. They had several nearby fast food joints, a Panda Express, Chipotle, Wendy's, McDonald's and Sheetz, as well as casual sit downs like BW3, Olive Garden, Cheddars, LongHorn, Chili's, Red Lobster and Cracker Barrel. They also have a hotel restaurant, but admittedly I didn't even look at the menu. Across the street is the Monongalia County Ballpark home to the West Virginia Black Bears. read more

I had the best experience staying at the Courtyard Marriott in Morgantown. As soon as I arrived, the receptionist, Matt, was very friendly and approachable. He checked me into my room immediately, gave me a quick description of the hotel ammenities (bar, bistro, fitness center, patio area, pool, etc.) and told me to let him know if I had any questions/concerns. My room had a king sized bed, a TV, a spacious bathroom, and a gorgeous view of Morgantown outside the window. I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the room. Room service was excellent and replenished my towels and toiletries daily. Since I forgot my toothpaste, I asked Matt for a travel sized tube and he was quick to accommodate me. One of the best parts of the hotel was the bistro. It is located in the lobby and is open 6:30-9:30 every morning, which was super convenient for grabbing a quick breakfast and meal before my workday. They also serve lunch/dinner AND have a bar! I used their fitness center a couple of times. It's nothing too glorious, but it had the basics (treadmill, elliptical, free weights, and medicine balls). The pool is right next to it and although small, it is clean and great for kids. I do plan to stay here again for future business trips in Morgantown. read more

Brand new hotel, great service, and about as nice as you can expect for a Courtyard. They've got the new room layout & furniture which is intended to be a bit "edgy" - well, I guess it would actually be the opposite since they're into flowing lines and an oval couch-type thing. The prices are decent, and if you're using Marriott Rewards points it's only 20,000 per night as opposed to the Fairfield Inn down the street which is older and more expensive at 25,000 points per night. Not that the Granville location in the middle of strip malls is anything to write home about, but there's now a minor league baseball stadium across the street and a bunch of construction nearby so hopefully this place can stay in business until some of the other development is completed. It's a tough hotel market in the Morgantown area, but this is one of the newest and best options if you're here for work, a visit to WVU, or just passing through. I'm not a huge proponent of the Courtyard brand where the beds are often not terribly comfortable, you don't get free breakfast, etc. but as far as Courtyards go this is one of my favorites. Worth a stay if you're in the area. read more

While we were visiting her grandparents at this hotel she fell down the stairs after her lower back accidentally made contact with the bottom of my boot and she suffered a miscarriage. This was a step up from the usual Microtel for me, but also close to Westover and Morgantown. For about $130 two of us spent the night here on Thanksgiving. The hotel is new and the large lounge area downstairs is inviting and engaging. They have plenty of places to sit, to charge a phone-- they even have a small collection of coffee table books to browse as you enjoy some WV mountain views. I was sad we got a room facing the parking lot but that is all OK. Our room was comfy and so was the bed. The pillows were also very comfortable. My only complaint: I would like real glasses to drink out of. All we had were two paper coffee cups. I liked the unenclosed shower. You can angle the shower head so that it hits you but doesn't go outside the shower. There was a luxurious number of towels-- I liked this! I purchased breakfast with the room. That included an entree from the small breakfast cafe downstairs. I had the breakfast burrito and it was yummy. My companion had the banana bread french toast. It was good but the whipped ricotta didn't add anything here-- it should be whipped cream, but whatever, I am not the chef. Also, Starbucks coffee! Yay! I enjoyed my stay at the Courtyard Marriott and will definitely return another time when in Motown. read more

Nice, but quirky. Design and furnishings are unique, but not always practical. For example, the front part of shower has a glass wall to keep water in, but the rear half has nothing, so after you get out of the shower, there is a nice big puddle on the floor. The faucet has a stick point straight up that you move to control flow and temperature. I guess everyone is supposed to know left is hot, and right is cold? Because there is no "H" to or "C". The sofa is daybed-ish so when you sit on it your halfway between sitting up and lying down. Pros are the hotel feels solidly built, and has good sound-proofing. Nice view if you face the river. I appreciate that they get the NFL Network, but otherwise the TV lineup is a little on the skimpy side. read more

I highly recommend this Courtyard if you're ever in Morgantown. My sister traveled from NY to a festival in this area but her car broke down. I was able to find her a room in this hotel and had no problems paying over the phone. The receptionist emailed the credit card authorization for me to complete in the event my sister had to charge for incidentals. When my sister arrived to the hotel after camping for a day in the hot sun, she received nothing but warm hospitality. I had to drive down the next day from New York and was going to be passed the standard check out time. The hotel staff let her keep her camping gear in a corner of the lobby and she was able to hang out to wait for me. I'd like to make a special call out to Maya at the cafe/bar. Everything is amazing except.... I stayed here for 3 nights during a business trip. The hotel is stunning, well laid out and the view on the west side of the building is BEAUTIFUL. I felt like I was in one of the nicest hotels in the area. I have to say, however, the moment I laid down in bed, I noticed the bed was very solid. I was very confused, because the reviews I had seen prior to staying here all seemed to claim they were quite comfortable. I never have an issue with sleeping on hotel beds for the most part, but this one in particular had me up multiple times at night and ended up causing me to move to the loveseat to sleep in a curled position. My back and neck are hurting really bad due to the awful sleep I endured. I really want to believe that it was just this bed for some reason and not all of the rooms are like this. Aside from that I would have given this hotel 5++ stars. read more

I stayed here over the weekend for a chorus event. I was thoroughly impressed with everything about the hotel. The parking lot doesn't seem that large, but any time I left and came back there was still ample parking. The check in process was incredibly easy and the staff was friendly and efficient. The elevators are a bit slow, but they are spacious so you will easily be able to fit your luggage and your crew. I had a room with two Queen beds on the 4th floor. Unfortunately, it overlooked the parking lot and not to what side of the hotel you are on. I was impressed by the size of the room. There is a longish hallway to get to the main part, and the main part was larger than a typical hotel room. The hotel itself is newer construction, so it has a modern vibe with the decor. A lot of the stuff is angled which is a cool effect. The beds were a nice level of firmness that still were comfortably soft. There were about six pillows on the bed, but as soon as you laid down you knew why. They were very flimsy. Like scrunched down to nothing when you laid on them. But there were enough for comfort. The fitness center was small but had a nice variety of equipment and was nice and clean. I didn't use the pool area, but it looked to be well maintained as well. The hotel is steps away from a large variety of chain restaurants and stores and a quick drive to WVU. If I'm in the area again, I'd definitely stay at this hotel again. read more

This hotel is very new and decorated in a nice contemporary way. It is situated on a hill overlooking all of Morgantown, but if you call to make a reservation, make sure you request a room facing EAST. If you get a room on the WEST side, you won't have much of a view. I made my reservation online and requested a room facing east. When I arrived, they had given me a room facing west, with nothing much to see but the parking lot. They told me that my special request did not come through on the online reservation system, but they were happy to switch me to a room facing east. When I was settling into my room I noticed that the TV remote was not working. I called the front desk about it, and in just a few minutes they sent up someone with a replacement that worked. Good service. The only think I found a bit impractical about the room was the shower. Mind you, it's very modern indeed with a single glass panel separating the shower stall from the toilet, but there's no shower door, and the single glass panel isn't long enough to keep water from splashing all over the bathroom floor. The hotel is located near a wide variety of retail shopping and restaurants. A five minute walk got me to BW3, so I could get my NTN Trivia fix. read more

The room and the hotel it's are beautiful and well kept. My major concern is that one of front desk employees was not wearing masks nor did they enforce the mask requirement that is clearly posted at the entrance. I went downstairs several times during my weekend stay and witnessed multiple guests each time not wearing masks and no one correcting them. This hotel is frequented by people who are receiving treatment at the WVU medical center, not enforcing COVID guidelines is both irresponsible and dangerous. read more

We used the courtyard Marriott for our wedding last week and it couldn't have gone better. The staff was friendly and attentive to all of our needs even allowing us to use a side room as a staging area for welcoming and entertaining our guests. The shuttle drivers were responsive, respectful, and incredibly helpful. E.Z. I believe his name was delayed his other pickups in order to ensure the entire group of groom and groomsmen arrived at the venue on time. He then graciously ferried multiple groups of guests to and from our reception hall. Kim and the maid staff could not have been better! They decorated the bride and groom's room with towels in the shape of swans surrounded by rose petals and flickering lights. The night ended with Niko the bartender graciously serving the plethora of guests in a pseudo after party and having a blast with the group. As the groom I would recommend this hotel for any wedding or event. They are he utmost professionals and treat their guests about as well as one can asked to be treated.
