When we travel with the dog, La Quinta is our go-to hotel. La Quinta charges an extra $25 fee for the dog. We booked a day in advance. The lobby is trendy with an upscale vibe. The room was super clean. I was happy to see the fridge. The rooms also have microwaves. The tv was easy to use with the list of provided channels. I checked-in on line and the keys were ready when we arrived. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The room and hotel were quiet midweek. The bed was comfortable and the room was perfect temperature. I slept well and, more importantly, so did my dog. A typical hotel breakfast was served in the morning (starting at 6 a.m.). I passed on the hot offerings (eggs, potatoes and sausage) but did have a whole grain bagel. The waffles looked good. The attendant was nice. The hotel has a pool, but the water was cloudy and uninviting. The small workout center was well equipped, but smelled a bit. They could use some ventilation in these areas. I give higher points for clean comfortable room, than the amenities. read more

Well, traveling home from Florida. This was our second stop after staying at the beautiful home2 suites this is disappointing. The room is small. The chair in the room is dirty. It's a very basic room. The bathtub is old. They only give you one bar of soap! The fridge is very small too. for the price difference, I would definitely stay at Home2 from now on. I have to revise my most previous review. The manager of this beautiful hotel was very quick to fix the issues regarding my previous stay. The hotel staff is amazing and the stays since the before mentioned visit has been outstanding. The hotel is clean. The rooms large and comfortable. A lovely indoor pool, gym and a full hot breakfast included with free parking located right off the exit. This is my preferred hotel when in the area. Lord, I hope La Quinta sees this review because I am DISAPPOINTED. I want my money back!!!! I was looking forward to a nice stay and when we arrived we were VERY disappointed. The room itself was nice, but the floors were sticky, the shower was DISGUSTING and it has MOLD and it just didn't look nice and clean AT ALL! We tried to look past that, so we went to the pool, just for it to be FILTHY and gross in the pool room too. Then, we tried to look past THAT, and decided to hit the gym .. the gym was humid with no AC on and the treadmill wasn't plugged in (the plug wasn't even suitable for the outlet!!) and everything was barely usable. I actually ended up running out and grabbing wipes to wipe down my room surfaces and floors but I cannot look past that disgusting shower. I'm one to look past flaws, but this is very disappointing, especially for this being my me and my partner's anniversary. The breakfast was pretty good so I'll give them that, but maybe focus on cleanliness before the stupid extras. read more

They allow pets! In the room next door was a yappy dog that barked all night! Then another dog started barking back and forth. It was awful. Never staying at a hotel that accepts pets again! Phone in the room wasn't working so couldn't call the front desk. read more

Owen needs a raise! He was the only person to do anything about the loud lobby and kids running up and down the hallway until 2 am. I usually don't care but I had my baby and family with me so it was a long night. Owen made sure the lobby was clear, and people were in their rooms or at least not making noise all night. First - Look at the dates on the good reviews. This place has gone way downhill in the past year. We have stayed at this location several times. Advice to others - If you don't mind doors slamming all night, dirty rooms, and poor maid service, this is the place. If you want a quiet and clean place to stay keep looking. read more

This hotel was very dirty and not clean. We stayed for 3 nights and DID NOT get any housekeeping. We asked for more towels at the front desk on day 2 and they said we couldn't get any due to full room capacity....??? If you did proper housekeeping, then you would have towels. We did ask if our room could get cleaned on the morning of day 2 and they said yes.... But we got no housekeeping. Going off the no housekeeping means we did not get our trash cans changed out which lead to us having an ant infestation. Gross. Then also lastly the sheets were DISGUSTING.. do better read more

I liked how the hotel looked at the front desk but I was not very happy with the smell of old urine that I had in my room as soon as I walked in. I would have loved to change my room but I was exhausted and didn't want to go through the hassle. I normally travel with some room fragrance with me that I was able to plug in and get rid of the smell a bit. I am a bit surprised because most of the La Quintas I've been to were always clean and smell good. This one makes me wonder whether it was cleaned at all. I am very impressed the furniture in the room what a shine and it was spotless. The floor was clean no dirt in the corners the room looks brand new when I intially walked in the bathroom except for the vanity sink drain needs to be cleared. This is our third time visiting the area but our first time staying at La Quinta but it definitely won't be our last. The hotel is conveniently located right off the beltway and there are lots of restaurants and shops all nearby. The pool looked really nice, hopefully we can check it out on our next visit. I loved that our room had a sofa and there were 2 tv's which was awesome since hubby and I definitely don't have the same taste in programming. The hotel is oddly located beside a place that sells off road type of vehicles but it was very quiet. The bed was soft and comfy and the bathroom had a large counter area and large shower which our dog even had to check out. The window has room darkening curtains so we were not disturbed by any of the lighting outside and we were able to park at a door that led directly to the elevator which was very convenient with our dog. Hubby enjoyed the breakfast selection each morning which was always stocked well, the only thing I would like to suggest is that there be 2 chairs at the table to make eating together possible; the sofa was a sectional but the footrest part was too large and heavy to move to table. read more

Awesome place. I am a Wyndham fan and when I saw this was available for the game weekend I was jumping right on it. Now I am booked for another weekend as well. The pool was warm and relaxing after the game. As you get into your room it is updated and clean. The staff was welcoming at each point of the stay. The fitness room has enough equipment to keep your workout routine on while traveling. The breakfast attendants were awesome! The food was good, quality options for any palate. The location is close to restaurants, bars, and not far from the university and stadium. Only questionable point was the cleaning staff cleaning rooms in their pajamas. At least some work attire would be better for perceptions. Overall, great location! read more

Good stay. A couple complaints... pool was not heated as most are, very cold. The tile around the pool is TERRIBLY SLICK!!! You cannot walk on it without shoes and that's still risky. Breakfast was average. Beds are VERY high, making it incredibly hard for young children and elderly! read more

Morgantown is the halfway point between me (being in Annapolis) and my sister (Ohio), so we decided to get together for a sisters' weekend and chose La Quinta because I got a great rate and the location seemed convenient. It looks like the area is still under construction, but there was nothing going on while we were there, no noise. There apparently WAS a beer festival going on up the street, so there were a few inebriated guests who were a little noisy throughout the night, but I guess that's to be expected in a college town. As for the hotel, the rooms were clean and comfortable, with a fridge and microwave in the room. The toiletries were decent, shower was clean, and there was plenty of room in the closet and dresser. The desk staff were very friendly and helpful, even offering suggestions on things my sister and I could do while we were in town. Very nice hotel, and should I find myself wanting to stay in Morgantown again, I'll come here. read more

We had a great stay! The hotel seems new or very newly renovated, and it has all necessary amenities (pool, gym, free breakfast). The employees are nice, friendly and approachable. Even though the hotel was sold out, they were able to give our family rooms next door to each other, and on the first floor (as requested). They also allow pets! Just stayed at the property while visiting my daughters at school. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. I got there before check-in time but the young lady working allowed me to check in early. The room was much bigger than I expected, clean, a sitting area, two televisions and a big clean bathroom. Breakfast was included as well as a 24 hour gym and a 24 hour pool. The few interactions I had with the staff were helpful and easy. I would 100% stay here again. read more

Third LQ I have stayed in, so comparing it to my previous stays... Stayed consecutively. Was disappointed not necessarily in the presentation, but in the staff. They were constantly on smoke breaks, which does not look good on the company.. The smoking areas are also right outside of every single entrance, which is a major problem for me.. Our room itself seemed kept except for two problems. First, our toilet did not work so you can imagine that. Second, our pillows were not comfortable at all, which impacts sleep. The other locations I have been to have had both a working toilet, and down pillows.. This was the most expensive of the three. Only stayed here in passing, and our dog loved the room, so meh! I am giving this hotel only 2 stars because the management is shady as f*ck. DO NOT...REPEAT...DO NOT USE THE PHONE IN YOUR ROOM. NOT EVEN TO CALL LOCAL. THEY WILL CHARGE YOU AN OUTRAGEOUS AMOUNT IF YOU USE THE PHONE. We used the room phone to order a pizza from the pizza place down the road, and we were charged $10.00 when we checked out. I flipped out and the manager said... "All La Quintas charge to use the phone in the rooms." NO, THEY DO NOT!!! We always stay at La Quintas all over the states and we have NEVER been charged to use the phone in our room for a local call. I asked him where it states ANYWHERE that using the room phone for a local call would be charged to you, and he couldn't answer me. He just got, even more, shadier and said (quote here) "It say's it somewhere in the room. Probably in the papers that are in the book in the rooms, or the papers that are on the table in the plastic bin thing." He, himself as the manager didn't even know where to tell me it was written and noted for the customer. Why couldn't he tell me? Because it ISN'T ANYWHERE!! I read over everything and it isn't told to you that you will be charged if you use the phone, and there is NOTHING in the room that states this either. We went back into the room and NOTHING was there telling you about this bogus charge. He is a straight up LIAR! The breakfast is gross, the rooms and hotel are nice (because it is brand new, so I added a star for this) the location is okay for now. They were building something right in front of the hotel though. There is construction noise, so you will be woken up. But whatever you do..... DON'T USE THE PHONE IN THE ROOM! DON'T EVEN PICK IT UP!!!! OR YOU WILL BE CHARGED AT CHECK OUT!! read more

I am always leery about staying at hotels that allow dogs but I needed a place for my pup and I for the night. I was very surprised at the modern decor. The room was clean and overall great for our evening stay. I didn't hear road noise from 79 or the other guests above, below or outside too much. I have a small dog and she's a bit of a yipper so I was worried we would get kicked out if she was barking from such noises. Thankfully it was very minimal. The bed wasn't the most comfortable. I have lower back issues so maybe not a fair comment but I felt it was too hard. They had plenty of pillows and a duvet cover. The AC worked great! The toilet ran every 20 minutes so I closed the door to not hear it. The frame free showers are nice. Little bit of mold in corners but nothing horrid enough to run away. They offer a free breakfast from 6-10 AM. I didn't partake in it because I didn't want to leave my dog. Speaking of which, they have dog stations around the hotel. Only downside is they don't really have a nice grass area. Mostly weeds or the mulch beds. I found a corner she managed to use successfully. The floors were gross in the elevator and outside of it. I think all the construction workers are tracking it in and there are so many of them staying here by viewing the parking lot. At my arrival after 9 PM many were men standing at back doors, out front smoking. Never get worried though. Overall I would stay here again. Oh and let's go Mountaineers! Very nice all around, the breakfast isnt all that great though, also the beds in the suites are hard as a rock literally. However, laundry is only a dollar, and the service is very good. The pool is kind of small but clean. Very modern design throughout the whole establishment. Room service is courteous and friendly. Also the little market up front by the desk with drinks, snacks, and little convenient things isn't too overpriced either. read more
