    Double queen room

Pros: -- Convenient location across the street from the WVU medical complex and the PRT station. -- Applebee's next door is open late and there's a paved path between the two. -- Compact rooms make efficient use of wall desk and attached armoire -- Mini-fridge has a separate freezer compartment -- Large 32" flat-screen TVs in every room -- Parking lot is well-lit, deterring car break-ins -- Complimentary local paper (Dominion Post) at check-in -- Bedding: Comfortable mattresses, and two pillows per person. -- Hot breakfasts are back, with two types of waffle mixes - regular and blueberry -- Bedside docking station with three plugs and two USB ports -- Working thermostat, plenty of hot water, and lots of water pressure -- Staff was friendly and accomodating (despite the reduced amenities due to COVID-19). Cons: -- Across the street from WVU medical complex and its heliport -- Applebee's next door is open late and the patrons in the lot can get noisy, especially after Mountaineer games -- Rooms are on the small side, especially with four guests, and only three spaces on the bathroom rack for towels. -- Although some rooms have mini-fridges, rooms with microwaves cost more. -- Remote control for flat-screen TV was dirty, scrolling channel guide was inefficient (provider is Direct TV), and channel info display wouldn't work. -- Parking lot is so well lit that you need to utilize the Roman blinds - even on the 5th floor. -- No more complimentary USAToday at check-in -- Bedding: duvets were disappointingly thin, and only one extra blanket is in the armoire. -- Your electronic room key might not work at the rear entrance. -- Only one elevator was working during the three days we were there. -- No pool (if that's important to your kids). Conclusion - convenient if your destination is WVU, but if you're looking for a Hampton Inn with an indoor pool, a guest laundry, and more nearby dining options (and don't mind paying a bit more), there's a new HI across the river in the University Towne Center. Otherwise, this HI was adequate for our purposes.

One matter and certainly no fault with Hampton is that if you are using a GPS device, particularly a Tom Tom, it can be somewhat tricky to find since the address location as certain GPS devices will lead you to a position nearly a mile down the road from the actual location, so beware on that point. As far as the hotel itself, I found the interior and general décor somewhat tired and in need of some sprucing up. Things like worn, stained carpets, elevators that only seem to be intermittently operative and nonfunctional ice machines. I know I had to leave my fifth floor to use the fourth floor ice machine as the fifth floor machine seemed to be more of a cold water dispenser than it was an ice machine. The complimentary breakfast was rather Hampton standard, but good and the staff friendly, helpful and accommodating.

    A standard room.

I stayed here alone for one night when visiting family. I booked with Hampton Inn because of their loyalty program (Hilton), I get airline miles. LOCATION: Morgantown is a smaller town, so staying just about anywhere should be fine. The hotel is located across the street from at least parts of the main state college. STAFF: The staff was pleasant, my interactions with them was limited. They did not offer bell hop service, but did direct me to a cart where I had to haul my own stuff. ROOM: The room had it's positives and negatives. The furniture was rather worn, more than I would expect. The bed however was quite nice, this is what I care most about. I was very tired and slept well. One notable drawback on the room is the plumbing. Part of the bathroom ceiling is open and covered only with open plastic grids. If you look up, you can see the plumbing and drains running above. This is not a big deal except when someone flushes on the floor above. The first couple times this happened, I jumped up because it really sounded like a pipe had burst and a small tidal wave was heading my direction. Closing the bathroom door did dull the sound somewhat. AMENITIES: The wi-fi internet offered worked great with no problems. Speeds were at least consistent with DSL. I was able to use my VPN and surf the web without problems. The hotel offers a limited breakfast in the morning. This included biscuits, eggs and sausage. I was in a hurry, but tried to put together a sandwich. The eggs looked unappealing, I made a sausage and biscuit sandwich which did the job of putting something in my stomach in the morning. OVERALL: When price shopping hotels, all appeared about the same. I chose this hotel due to their loyalty program and probably would stay here again if I return. Another relative in town stayed at the Euro Suites, which she said was nice and she was able to negotiate a lower rate from them. If I had been able to get a lower rate on a comparable hotel, I would have stayed there. If all things are the same, the Hampton Inn should work fine if you are looking for a clean and comfortable place to stay.

It's a typical Hampton Inn, so they are all pretty much 3 stars. This place lost a star because my iron leaked water from the bottom. This made ironing very difficult. My "clean" towels had a long curly in it when i unfolded it. I usually look at a towel before I bring it to my face, just in case. The wireless internet speed was ok. Not too much lag. Staff was friendly.

Space saving design. Stuck me with 2 Queens (for one person) & tried to up charge me for a King. #HHonors no help here

The Good: old looking on the outside - updated on the inside. Right next to WVU and all the happenings in Morgantown. Staff was mostly friendly (I'll get to that below) and overall I had a good sleep. Shower had great pressure and was very hot - always a good thing! The use of small room space & inventive desk & wardrobe was kinda cool. The Venetian blinds were a nice touch, too. The Meh: Bad calcium deposits in the shower - not dirty but dirty looking and very obvious. The mattress was quite worn and needs replacing - still suitable but for those looking for a firm bed - not-so-much. Breakfast bar was slightly below average compared to other Hampton Inns. Not bad - but I've seen better. No shampoo in the bathroom - but two conditioner bottles. Front desk brought up some so they did right by me. The Bad: This was my third consecutive night at a Hampton Inn (all different). I was not received as a HHonors Member and when I asked if my double-bed room could be bumped to a King she tried to charge me. MOST (not all) tend to comp this to me and I was a bit miffed. Upon my insistence - she refused. Honestly, I don't expect if a hotel is sold out to "give" me anything. But it wasn't and I wasn't so after spending three straight nights in a Hampton - I honestly will stay in a Holiday Inn next time just to put some distance in it for me. All it takes is that one time ... TV - OMG this thing sucked! Owners cheap'd out with only Showtime as "paid" cable and the rest was a mix of ANTENNA & standard (non-HD) cable fair. Tiny 32" craptacular LG of course. Price - pretty high for a Tuesday night ($110+ with a highly discounted corporate rate as it was). So for a 'regular' traveler it might sting a bit too much. Summary - if I come back to Morgantown, WV it's a coin flip if I stay here again.

Clean rooms, friendly staff. The continental breakfast was well stocked. Exactly what you'd expect from a Hampton Inn.

If you like TV then I do not recommend. The list of channels they give you are false.

We asked how much extra it was for late check out (3pm). They told us they wouldn't be charging us because it wasn't much of a difference from the original check out time. This morning they began calling the room requesting a $60 charge. I came to the front desk and paid it I figured maybe they made a mistake and they did need to charge the extra time in the room (till 3pm). At 2:45pm the cleaning lady came to the room to clean. I told her we had paid for the extra time to stay the front desk was aware. She said no that 60$ is in case of damage you will get it back. Now I'm confused because the $50 deposit I left originally was supposed to be for this. I asked her to give me a few minutes to finish packing my things. She left and came back with a front desk agent and manager threatening me to leave the room. This was such an uncomfortable situation for me. I suffer from severe anxiety and felt so attacked. Matt at the front desk was so rude to me and as soon as I mentioned I was leaving a review he changed his attitude. These people were nice to me the whole time I was there (because I look white I assume) but as soon as my friend (Latina) spoke up they changed their attitude (fucking racist!!!!!!) all of this for not giving me 15min till 3pm which they charged for. We paid for two days stay and only stayed one day and a half because we arrived late (we are driving from far). This is not our first stay here (two weeks again October 13) We have been in communication with them from the beginning and everything seemed fine until this afternoon. I'm so disappointed. I walked out with an anxiety attack almost crying. That was the experience I had.

We found it very nice and clean. The small part of the hotel that we saw looked nice. I did online check in and check out. The bed was comfy. There was a lot of road noise, so maybe bring a sound machine. The parking garage was the worst part. My friend and I drive an expedition and a suburban, and it was very tight going around all the turns. I had to back up quite a few times to be able to make it around the corners. The parking garage was in disrepair, and there was no elevator or stairs, so we had to walk down and up the ramps. I had prepaid parking and it didn't let me use the app to raise the gate. Thankfully, there was a man behind us with a room key so he swiped it to raise the gate. Otherwise, we would've had to leave our vehicles sit there and walk around, into the main door of the hotel for help. The entrance and exit ramps are also the same and they are for one car only. So. Hotel was great, parking garage sucked. We never saw the parking lot.

Lakeview Resort is in the Allegheny Plateau of the Appalachian Mountains. The elevation varies from 1,000' to 2500.' South of the Allegheny Plateau is the Allegheny Highlands, which varies from 2,000' to 4800.' Lakeview Resort is a timeshare community that is incorporated into a dynamic housing market overlooking Cheat Lake. While Lakeview Resort is near Morgantown, West Virginia, it is also near Pennsylvania and Maryland. Lakeview Resort provides a home base to explore southern Pennsylvania, western Maryland, and northern West Virginia. We have been trading into Lakeview Resort for nearly twenty years. The Interval International website photos are very accurate concerning the townhouse arrangement of Lakeview Resort. This property has long been sold out, although there are units listed on various resale markets. Be careful not to confuse the Lakeview Resort timeshares with the Lakeview Resort hotel. The hotel seems to have less favorable reviews than Lakeview Resort timeshare. Recall that Interval International does not list Lakeview Resort as a "premium resort" or "select resort." We find the Homeowners Association has maintained the property, and do expect an updated unit for your visit. The kitchen is a full working kitchen, and the combined living room dining area features a neat fireplace, which may be used during the summer evenings. The bedrooms and bathrooms have been updated, and always remain clean. Lakeview Resort provides ample parking for visitors and for guests. The important history is that a young Virginia officer, George Washington was in command during the battle of Fort Necessity. Although this was Washington's first defeat, the battle would provide the young Colonel invaluable military strategy that would affect Washington's decision-making during the Revolutionary War. It is recommended that the tourist research the Battle of Fort Necessity to appreciate the historical event and the events that followed.
