Very nice, professional staff who were very helpful! Room and king sized bed very comfortable! Sheets and bed cover very clean and fresh. Room very refreshing and clean, with pod coffee maker in our room with two decaffeinated coffee pods included, and important as my wife and i only drink decaffeinated coffee! Room service very good, with access to inhouse steak and ribs restaurant, Smokin' J's, good food reasonably priced! We had a 3rd floor single king room with handy capable shower, and they provided a shower chair when we requested one! And their handicapped reserved parking very close to hotel's back door that was accessible 24/7. The hotel provided Wi-Fi access was easy to access and log into! The room air conditioning worked very well! The room well insulated as to sound and was very quiet! We would stay there again if we ever go to Morgantown and need to spend a night again! :) read more

I was disappointed in the lack of customer service and care. Had food poisoning after eating their cereal, employee personally told me I had drank expired milk! Nothing was done, not even a simple incident report written out. Upset to see a Hampton Inn so trashy. The hotel looks like it hasn't been vacuumed in a very long time. The beds are extremely messily made, making us think the bedding wasn't washed. We called and made the reservation directly through the front desk yet they tell us that the reservation was made through Priceline so any reimbursement would have to be with them. A dreadful hotel that is a disgrace to the Hilton franchise. My family and I stayed here and were thoroughly disappointed. We have stayed in our fair share of Hilton hotels (my father and I are both diamond members there), and this was one of the worst. My father and I got two rooms and had issues with both. We had a guest sleeping on the pullout sofa in one room, and when we opened the sofa there were moldy Cheetos and chips on the mattress. It was also stained with who knows what kind of fluids. In my room, there were toenails all under the desk. It's as if it was never vacuumed. This hotel is utterly disgusting and is in dire need of renovations, and a deep cleaning. read more

One matter and certainly no fault with Hampton is that if you are using a GPS device, particularly a Tom Tom, it can be somewhat tricky to find since the address location as certain GPS devices will lead you to a position nearly a mile down the road from the actual location, so beware on that point. As far as the hotel itself, I found the interior and general décor somewhat tired and in need of some sprucing up. Things like worn, stained carpets, elevators that only seem to be intermittently operative and nonfunctional ice machines. I know I had to leave my fifth floor to use the fourth floor ice machine as the fifth floor machine seemed to be more of a cold water dispenser than it was an ice machine. Unclean, check then double check for bedbugs. Do not use provided laundry, housekeeping only pulls sheets if visible spots. And Duvets/the big fluffy blanket, rarely cleaned even when spots noticed. Ran by someone whom must have something shoved somewhere, have you seen the GM's waddle? Looks like an oversized penguin moving its precious baby egg to a better spot. I stayed here alone for one night when visiting family. I booked with Hampton Inn because of their loyalty program (Hilton), I get airline miles. LOCATION: Morgantown is a smaller town, so staying just about anywhere should be fine. The hotel is located across the street from at least parts of the main state college. STAFF: The staff was pleasant, my interactions with them was limited. They did not offer bell hop service, but did direct me to a cart where I had to haul my own stuff. ROOM: The room had it's positives and negatives. The furniture was rather worn, more than I would expect. The bed however was quite nice, this is what I care most about. I was very tired and slept well. One notable drawback on the room is the plumbing. Part of the bathroom ceiling is open and covered only with open plastic grids. If you look up, you can see the plumbing and drains running above. This is not a big deal except when someone flushes on the floor above. The first couple times this happened, I jumped up because it really sounded like a pipe had burst and a small tidal wave was heading my direction. Closing the bathroom door did dull the sound somewhat. AMENITIES: The wi-fi internet offered worked great with no problems. Speeds were at least consistent with DSL. I was able to use my VPN and surf the web without problems. The hotel offers a limited breakfast in the morning. This included biscuits, eggs and sausage. I was in a hurry, but tried to put together a sandwich. The eggs looked unappealing, I made a sausage and biscuit sandwich which did the job of putting something in my stomach in the morning. OVERALL: When price shopping hotels, all appeared about the same. I chose this hotel due to their loyalty program and probably would stay here again if I return. Another relative in town stayed at the Euro Suites, which she said was nice and she was able to negotiate a lower rate from them. If I had been able to get a lower rate on a comparable hotel, I would have stayed there. If all things are the same, the Hampton Inn should work fine if you are looking for a clean and comfortable place to stay. read more

Stayed here while in town for a gaming convention our store represented at. Have stayed at Hamptons before- this was about on the same level. LOCATION: Near restaurants, the hospital if you are visiting someone, as well as close to football stadium if needing a place when seeing a game! AMENITIES: really the same deal as any other Hampton inn - clean rooms, breakfast free, nice staff. Room had two beds - which were doubles not queens- as the room wasn't the size they usually have in Hampton inns but there it is. ROOMS: Clean but a little on the small side. Wasn't a big deal just not as big as what I'm used to. FOOD: Breakfast was a nice touch but the seating was quite small- had to take back up to room. Recommended whichever the need is. The Good: old looking on the outside - updated on the inside. Right next to WVU and all the happenings in Morgantown. Staff was mostly friendly (I'll get to that below) and overall I had a good sleep. Shower had great pressure and was very hot - always a good thing! The use of small room space & inventive desk & wardrobe was kinda cool. The Venetian blinds were a nice touch, too. The Meh: Bad calcium deposits in the shower - not dirty but dirty looking and very obvious. The mattress was quite worn and needs replacing - still suitable but for those looking for a firm bed - not-so-much. Breakfast bar was slightly below average compared to other Hampton Inns. Not bad - but I've seen better. No shampoo in the bathroom - but two conditioner bottles. Front desk brought up some so they did right by me. The Bad: This was my third consecutive night at a Hampton Inn (all different). I was not received as a HHonors Member and when I asked if my double-bed room could be bumped to a King she tried to charge me. MOST (not all) tend to comp this to me and I was a bit miffed. Upon my insistence - she refused. Honestly, I don't expect if a hotel is sold out to "give" me anything. But it wasn't and I wasn't so after spending three straight nights in a Hampton - I honestly will stay in a Holiday Inn next time just to put some distance in it for me. All it takes is that one time ... TV - OMG this thing sucked! Owners cheap'd out with only Showtime as "paid" cable and the rest was a mix of ANTENNA & standard (non-HD) cable fair. Tiny 32" craptacular LG of course. Price - pretty high for a Tuesday night ($110+ with a highly discounted corporate rate as it was). So for a 'regular' traveler it might sting a bit too much. It was pretty easy to find and I found parking close to the entrance. I was able to walk to the game and back which was good as traffic/parking for others was long lines. Stayed here for a work trip. They were very nice and always greeted us when coming in the door. Coffee tea and cocoa 24/7 for free near the front desk. Rooms were well maintained while we were there. Housekeeping kept on top of things nicely. Also breakfast has something for everyone. I'm diabetic and can't do the standard carb overload/donuts/muffins, etc. They always had an egg option of some sort along with protein like bacon or sausage and sometimes potatoes. Another day it was biscuits and gravy but they still had egg/protein options in addition to the standard bagels and waffles and cereal. Would definitely stay there again. No laundry facilities though just in case anyone was wondering. read more

Worst experience for children. Our youth swim team was told we could have a pizza party in the lobby (the common area) after our finals. This is the junkiest Hampton inn I have ever been to. I have been staying in Hampton / Hilton properties for over 15 years and this is the worst one. The hotel is worn down. I had to use the lobby bathroom a few times and each time I had to have the front desk unlock it because it would get stuck locked. The staff was inattentive. They didn't clean my room until late in the day. The complimentary cookies were hard as hockey pucks. And tonight when I got back from dinner there was a bum in the lobby sleeping. Great location across street from Ruby & WVU football stadium as well as restaurants. Our room was nice and mostly updated. Breakfast was excellent with a lot of good options. Our only complaint was the bed mattress that was seemingly pretty old and very uncomfortable which led to rough nights sleep. read more

If you are looking for a location near the WVU Medical School campus this is the location you need. The hotel is across the street and you could easily walk to campus. The hotel has had some updates and doesn't look too tired. The lobby area had a large high table, sofas and chairs for people to gather. The breakfast was typical Hampton Inn and didn't provide anything too interesting. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate were available 24/7. The TV reception was sporadic and some channels stayed digitized the entire visit. There was a cotton blanket available in the closet as an alternative to the ever heavy duvet. All of the staff members were encountered were very friendly and greeted up with pleasantries. read more

The lest family friendly hotel in the Hampton chain nationwide. They wouldn't let 23 families eat pizza in their common area. At 730 at night. This wasn't a party, just feeding our kids after a meet. Funny thing is they let us eat a pasta dinner the night before. The GM Sherri would t make an exception to their supposed policy, even though we expected the same service we got Friday evening. Management here is not very customer focused. There are better options in Morgantown. read more

We have been traveling across the country for 10 days and had a good experience at the hampton inn's in 2 other cities so decided to try it hear. This particular Hampton does not live up to the Hampton name. Rooms are small no room to move around. Shower and bathtub were stained dirty and rusty and drains in sink and tub did not work. Their were 4 of us and the biggest room they have was a room with 2 double beds. NO pool or spa. Breakfast was good but that was about all that was good about this experience. Had a reservation for October 14th. Since I was no longer coming up for the WVU/Texas Tech game, I tried to cancel the reservation on Tuesday, October 3rd. Was told by Jo that the hotel had a 14 day cancellation notice for home football games. Asked her if there was something she could do to help since I was a Diamond member and had stayed at hotel at least 10 times over the years, she said she could try to sell the room and if she did, she could cancel my reservation and let me know. She took my contact information. I did not hear from her for a week. I called on Tuesday, October 10th. Spoke to her and she said they had not sold my room yet. Still could not cancel my reservation until they sold the room. Never heard from her and I called Saturday morning on the 14th. Was put on hold for 10 minutes and asked to speak to the hotel manager. I spoke to Sheri Caggiano. Told her my story and asked her to cancel my reservation. She said what Jo said, she could not cancel my reservation until the room was sold. Again, told her I was a Diamond member and asked for her help. Would not cancel the reservation. Let her know that I have stayed in the hotel at least ten times over the years. I am a Diamond member for over ten years. That I tried to cancel the room 10 days prior. Did not seem to care one bit. She was not canceling the room until they sold the room. I asked for her Regional Manager's name. She would not give me their name. Said they were a corporate hotel and all complaints go to corporate. I told her this was not over and she would be hearing from me again. I went to HH website trying to find where I could issue a complaint. I could not find anything, so I called the Diamond Help Desk. Spoke to Robert and told him the story. He IMMEDIATELY canceled my reservation. I told him I did not understand how he could cancel the reservation in literally 30 seconds that Sherri and Jo could not do in ten days. As awful as the customer service was from the Manager of this property, the service from Robert helped alleviate the situation. He took all of my information and issued a formal complaint in their system. As I promised Sheri, I will never stay at this hotel again. The way they treated me was absolutely abhorrent. We have been staying at the Hampton Inn in Morgantown for the past six years. Six years ago we would have given them five stars. After this past weekend we give them a one. For the first time, they sent an email the day before to check in. I thought that was great. They tell you your room number and what time to check in. We were told to check in after three. When we arrived at 3:20, our rooms were not ready. Other people were complaining that "for the third time our room keys don't work!" When we finally get a room, our keys didn't work either! As a Hilton Honors member they are supposed to offer a variety of complimentary things. They didn't. When we called to let them know we're were disappointed so far, they said they were sorry. We left for the day on Saturday. Upon arriving back early evening, we found our room had not been cleaned. We called again. They were, once again, sorry. The cleaning staff had left for the day and the person at the desk was the only employee in the entire building and could not bring us fresh linens. This morning when checking out I ran to the ladies room. There was no soap. I went to the front desk to alert them and they were, once again, sorry, but they had a busy weekend. From start to finish this hotel is basically falling apart due to severe understaffing and basically not caring. So disappointing. read more

I booked and payed for my reservation for 7/10/19 through Hotwire, but then the hotel also charged my credit card for the room two days later. When I noticed the error on my credit card statement a couple weeks later, I called the hotel to ask them to reverse the charge. On the first couple of calls, the person would check the record and agree that the charge needed to be reversed, but the manager would have to do it. I would never hear back from them and nothing was changed. After my third call to the hotel, I got to speak to the manager (Ben, I believe). He said I would need to talk to Hotwire. After two calls to Hotwire (who assured me it would be taken care of), nothing was resolved. After one last call to the hotel on 8/28/19 and another assurance that it would be taken care of, I gave up and called Capital One on 8/30/19 to dispute the charge. This is a review only about Paul, the young man at the front desk. My wife and I checked in and out within a 5 minute time frame because my wife is an incredibly "tough customer" as it pertains to hotels. Paul was kind enough to point us in the direction of a friendly competitor to make my wife potentially more comfortable.
