Courtyard Marriott is the basic no frills option of the Marriott Bonvoy brand. Whilst visiting in-laws with my hubby who live in the suburbs of North Wales PA it is an adequate place to stay. There are a variety of restaurants and shops that are a convenient short drive away, plus a few are within walking distance. Plus it's about 35 minutes drive to Philadelphia and/or Bucks County. The front desk staff are very accommodating. Rooms are up to date and clean. Parking is included with your stay. 4 stars. No complaints here. read more

As a Titanium Elite Bonvoy member I am an avid traveler who spends the majority of my time in hotels due to work. I travel internationally and nationally so I am accustomed to a certain level of customer service and can immediately detect poor performance. I can honestly state that this facility is one of my least favorite Marriot establishments! Pros, location! They are directly across a Mall and close to the main arteries of 202 and 309. So by default they will get a lot of bookings. Cons staff is ice cold and unaccommodating! It's as if my Titanium status is overlooked and I'm clustered into to the regular guest pool. So I won't stay here anymore there are better facilities close by! read more

This hotel is a textbook example of what not to do in hospitality. They claim to have remodeled in 2019 but the property feels outdated, the energy is cold, and the service is dismissive at best. It's clear the standard of care stopped long ago. There is no pool. Nothing for kids. And absolutely no effort from staff to make guests feel welcome. Our group came in respectful, professional, and fully self-managed. Despite that, we were treated like an inconvenience from the moment we walked in. We showed more hospitality to the staff than they ever showed to us. What pushed it over the edge was the manager deciding she had the authority to film children who were simply laughing and enjoying the lobby. Not for safety. Not for documentation. Just because she could. It was invasive, inappropriate, and completely unacceptable behavior from someone in a leadership position. That is not hospitality. That is intimidation. Whatever they try to spin online, don't buy it. The rooms are tired. The staff is cold. The management is out of touch. You will not feel welcome here. If you care about basic decency, skip this place. It reeks of poor leadership, outdated values, and a long list of red flags you will wish you noticed sooner. read more

First and foremost, the staff was polite and didn't do anything wrong! What I do know is that I am no longer a subscriber to anything Marriott. We used our free night here 12/20 (because Boston Courtyard Marriott wouldn't honor it last Saturday) and awoke the next morning to our truck window being smashed open... my biggest takeaway here, as someone who has managed multiple businesses, is that management claims there are no cameras outside. Say what?! In 2024?! I understand the hotel is not responsible for the contents in my vehicle, but to be negligent enough to not have them for safety purposes is alarming on many levels. That leads me to believe that all CM properties don't have cameras, and I sincerely believe whoever smashed our window was privy to this information. We did file a police report. Just Ok. The hallway carpets, elevators and much of it looked very old, and worn out. I was paranoid of dropping anything on the floor and having to pick it back up, for that reason. They only have a small starbucks place for coffee and limited breakfast options, which gets the job done, but not much of anything else. My TV did not work for 2 out of 4 nights that I stayed here, but you didn't have to pay for wifi or parking. So that was good. The front-desk associates were great. I'll probably consider a different hotel in the Philadelphi area, next time. read more

My friend had booked a room here originally. However, as it got close to my day of stay, the prices kept getting higher. Because of this, we decided to upgrade his room and stay there together. This is the first hotel I've been to with their own private lot that charges to park there. There was a piece of gum next to the bed in the original room, but they were quick to change it. I did forget to bring a toothbrush and they did offer me a complimentary toothbrush and toothpaste upon me asking. Also, the room sizes are great and the bed is very comfortable. They are quick to fix their mistakes it seems so I think 4 stars is what they deserve. read more

I was disappointed that upon arrival the property was going through a renovation- they should have notified me in advance. There was plastic draped everywhere in the lobby, the reception area was a folding table, and I needed to use the contractors elevator. There was unfinished Sheetrock in the halls and I heard work being done in the early evening. My renovated room on the 2nd floor was small & nicely appointed, but they don't even provide a complimentary bottle of water. The air conditioner worked very well. Unfortunately the new bathroom shower didn't have new plumbing and was completely clogged- I was ankle deep in water but the end of my shower and it began to flood the floor (The sliding door was very low to the floor). When I mentioned this to the front "desk" the manager provided me with 6000 Marriott points and fixed the issue. read more

I normally don't go out of my way to leave a review on good or bad experiences, but I couldn't BELIEVE what I experienced after my stay. I highly suggest to record the room you stay at before and after checking in/out at this hotel and maybe even any other hotels in the future. So for one, I receive employee discounts for any Marriott branded hotels. I've stayed at several hotels and NEVER had any complaints or issues. I'm from RI, I went to PA with my family to bring my son (10 months), niece (18 months), and nephew (18 months) to Sesame Street Place in PA. I booked a room for 2 nights. When we first arrived, the front desk agent was GREAT to us. The 1st night, we arrived there at about 12:30AM (basically the next day) the room smelled weird, kinda like cigarettes but whatever, we didn't stress it because it was already late and we didn't want to give the front desk lady a hard time since she was very nice to us. So all we got to do was sleep in the room and get ready for the next day. The next day we wake up, got ready to head to Sesame Street Place and did not get back to the hotel room till about 10PM. In other words, we were barely in the room. We ordered Chinese food that night before heading back to the room since we were going to be leaving the next day and of course, kids can be messy. So that night, there was crumbs left on the floor. The next day, we made sure to leave the room cleaned and picked up but obviously we didn't have a vacuum to clean up the crumbs. Which I assumed it is a house keepers job. Due to the fact that I was a house keeper before and that is a part of the job description. The day we went to Sesame Street Place, my son turned 10 months. So to celebrate, I blew up a number 10 balloon and about 4 other balloons. Before checking out, I made sure to leave the balloons on top of the table where the TV is, again assuming the house keeper will just get rid of it. I normally leave a tip but because I didn't have my wallet on me, it was in my bag and my bag had been brought downstairs already, I wasn't able to leave a tip. Not sure if that is where the madness started or because I didn't pay full price for the room but the house keepers decided to pop the balloons I left in the room and leave them on the ground as if we left them there and they reached out to my sisters job (because I no longer work for Marriott) to advise her that "me and whomever I stayed with, trashed the room" now, like I said before, I was a house keeper before so I know how stressful that job can be, also I know when a room is considered "trashed". On top of that, WHY would I want to put my sisters job at risk!? Soon as I found out that this hotel reached out to my sisters job I IMMEDIATELY called this hotel to ask them what we did. Because from what I know we left that room picked up. So I spoke to a manager who refused to give his name in the beginning (name: Alex Rossi), (I got the whole conversations on video), and refused to give me his call back number. I asked him what was considered trashed and his exact words were "crumbs and balloons". I couldn't believe what I had just heard. Because from what I know "TRASHED" is considered severe damages such as a broken tv, a hole in a wall, a broken toilet, etc. so basically in other words he said it was our job to ask for a vacuum to pick up the crumbs. Again, I've stayed at plenty of hotels and I have never in my life heard anything like this before. And just to add to it, if you are a SMOKER (weed) please make sure to leave your weed in the car because they will try to charge you a smoking fee, without any type of evidence that you smoked in the room. The manager said there was an "unusual smell" in the room (talking about weed) but if they run their cameras back (I don't smoke, but my other sister and her boyfriend do) they'll SEE exactly where they were smoking, OUTSIDE! That manager was very ignorant and was accusing us of smoking in the room, so I take that as he was saying we smoked with our kids in the room. That is the UPMOST DISRESPECTFUL thing I've ever heard in my life, especially me being a first time mom. I was thinking about taking this issue to a social media platform, but I hope that someone higher up at this hotel or even Marriott corp takes consideration into the type of people that they hire. I was going to rate this hotel (Courtyard Philadelphia Montgomeryvile) a 1 star but because the front desk lady treated us very well, I gave it a 2 star. I hope this hotel thanks her (the African American lady) for doing her job correctly. She could relate to us. Overall, very disappointed in this hotel, i'm a lifelong Marriott Platinum Elite and was looking for a hotel I could come back over and over again. This location failed to deliver, first off, for some reason they have a $10 per night parking charge. This place in located across from a mall, not a convention center. Check-in staff was fine, but manager had a could careless attitude when i challenge the parking fee. Wasn't until she was told my status that she changed her outlook. Rooms are just ok, they needed some major work and upkeep. I was only here for a couple of days or I would have changed hotels. read more

Let's start with the positives. The rooms were clean, and the decor was modern. The staff was quite pleasant given the circumstances. There is Starbucks coffee in the lobby. I also appreciate that they use bigger shampoo and conditioner bottles in the restrooms, as it is better for the environment. Now for the constructive criticism. My cousin used this hotel for her wedding block. She was not informed that there would be significant renovations occurring during her guests' stay. The lobby looks awful with plastic covering construction and a makeshift front desk off to the side. The pool was closed, one of the elevators was reserved for contractors, and the fitness room was also closed. The stairwells are covered in plastic and for emergency use only. Despite the fact that the Chili's next door is closed and this hotel has plenty of parking for guests, we were still charged $10 a day for parking! I have been to Motel 6's with more amenities than this place. They should AT LEAST offer a discount, free breakfast, and/or free parking given these unexpected inconveniences. My cousin deserved to be warned that this would happen so that her guests could go elsewhere. The owner should be embarrassed Update! Our room wasn't cleaned! read more

Bottom Line: Its probably worth spending a few dollars more to stay in a slightly better hotel. I picked this hotel based on the high rating on my Marriott App. As Yelp Elite, I feel foolish for not checking Yelp too. I stay in hotels a lot and I have learned that Courtyards can vastly vary from grungy to boutique. This hotel was definitely on the grungier side. The lobby was nice and the front desk staff was great but the rooms were a little meh. When we opened the door to our first room, 311, a pungent cigarette smell came out of the room. We didn't even walk in or flip on the lights. The room shouldn't have even been assignable. The lady at the front desk apologized and quickly assigned us a new room in the non-smoking hotel. The next room was a lot better but like other Yelper's noted, there was black mold in the shower. There is a Chili's adjacent to the property and it was nice to be able to walk back to the room after grabbing a night cap at Chili's. I stayed at this Courtyard for one night so it was fine for that, but I wouldn't stay here again. read more

I've stayed at this hotel multiple times because of its convenient location. But this is the first time I've experienced their hidden $10 hotel charge which is in the fine print. As a Titanium member with over 1,000 nights, it makes no sense to charge for parking in the middle of suburbia because no one else does. None of us who frequent Marriotts think to look because we know where we expect to get screwed for parking ($80 in San Francisco for example). Just charge me $10 more for my room. No harm done that route. The way you went about this was disappointing, but it all makes sense that I had to throw a "parking permit" piece of paper on my dashboard. I took a quick peak. There are other Marriott options locally that do not charge for parking so my moment of WTF Marriott panic passed. Thanks Courtyard Montgomeryville. You won't be seeing this Titanium member ever again. I feel sorry for the front desk staff who must deal with this issue morning after morning. I hope the idiot who made this decision feels good about losing the most loyal customers for $10 here and there while hurting employee moral because they shouldn't have to deal with this issue. We stayed here for one night because we had an early morning event in the area. Overall it was a good stay. The check in process went smoothly. The room was spacious and clean although it did smell like smoke and it smelled a bit musty. The beds were comfortable. They need more water pressure in the bathroom, for sure. You can barely even tell the sink is on. and the faucet is so strange you have to try it a bunch of different ways before you realize how to get it on and off. We were here on a Friday night and wanted a drink after arriving (around 10:30). We were told there is a bar but the bar closes at 10:00. How does a bar close at 10? Especially on a Friday night? And they had a bunch of rooms blocked off for wedding parties, too. That seemed really strange to us. After being told that, we asked the employee where the closest bar is and he said "this really is the closest bar." What an odd response. They were able to offer us a late check out until 2:00. There was plenty of parking. Front desk staff were friendly. It was good for an overnight stay. I would return if needed but I would definitely ask for a room that without a doubt did not smell like smoke. read more

I've stayed at this Courtyard location several times now and will return again the next time I'm in the area. The hotel is on the newer side, though it does have the old decor package with the red walls (which I really don't like), but I assume sooner or later they will renovate to the new design. A big plus with this location is the hot tub which was nice and hot and had lots of bubbles. There's nothing that bugs me more than a hot tub that doesn't work, so I'm glad this one was so bubbly! I do wish they would focus on some of the details, for example the top of the pool really needs a good cleaning, and the landscaping in the courtyard seemed a little tired for being the namesake of the hotel. Although I am not a huge fan of the Bistro concept that Marriott has imposed in all Courtyard locations, this one seems to do a pretty good job, even if a little pricy. read more

We just spent three days at this location! Clean is an understatement. The staff takes every precaution to make sure everyone is safe. Teresa the GM is amazing and cares about the guest. Megan checked us in and upgraded our room to a suite. The room was amazing. Comfortable bed, very clean, great TV service, the shower was full force. We dealt with Jeanette at the front desk a couple times for anything that we needed. She did offer room service but we were OK. Great location directly across the street from the mall. This hotel is right off the main highway. These three days have been great. Thank you to the amazing staff. read more

Checked in last night for 4 nights. Obeyed mask requirement. Returned to room after 1 night to find that the room had not been cleaned. Went to the manager and was advised that due to covid 19, no cleaning and/or services would be rendered until we check out in 3 days.They gave us towels at the front desk and offered clean sheets if we wanted to make the beds ourselves. This is apparently Marriott's policy since March. This information/policy was not communicated when we made the reservation or when we checked in. We followed up with a Bonvoy Rep and then his Supervisor who read us the policy over and over with no help or resolution. We were told that the policy was published on the website. Since this is Marriott's corporate policy, avoid multiple night bookings at all Marriott Properties unless you are willing to clean your own room. Very disgusted at this time after patronizing Marriott since 1975. read more

Overall it's not a bad hotel, but I don't think I'll ever stay there again. It has a friendly staff and a convenient 'market,' but the lack of soundproofing turned out to be unbearable for me. I stayed there on the 1st floor for 3 nights this past week. On the first night, I had to listen along while my 2nd-floor neighbor watched TV all night. Then the next morning, that person's clock radio woke me up and ran for at least 15 minutes. I could easily tell when that person walked around his room. The second night was better, but the morning after that was awful--my next-door neighbor got up at about 5:00 am and had two conference calls. I heard both conversations so clearly as if they had been in my room. My co-worker who stayed on the same floor was also bothered by her neighbors' noise. Honestly most business travelers are not noise-makers, but the lack of sound proofing at this hotel may make your stay a nightmare. read more

I am not sure why a courtyard was constructed in this location. Marriott has other properties a few miles away with competitive prices, and Hyatt has hotels closer to the city than this location. That being said, we only stayed here because of the large power outage a hurricane caused. The most disappointing thing about our stay is the fact that the hotel was constructed so poorly that we could hear our neighbors, hear the footsteps clearly above us, and hear the wake up call our next door neighbor had. I understand Courtyards are not premier properties, but really? How many corners will they cut? Looking past the atmosphere, the staff was friendly and accommodating despite the large influx of guests. However, the room service came from the chilis located next door, which was very unappealing. I would not suggest visitors to stay in this hotel. There's a lovely residence inn by Marriott a mile down 309 towards the city. read more

The room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom appeared to be new. The service was friendly and we appreciate that on Thanksgiving day. One problem was the TV. Most of the channels were HD, and they did not work. I called the front desk, but the person there had no clue if something was wrong. She told me that she had no other complaints, and really could not help. The real disappointment was breakfast. My wife had eggs, potatoes and bacon off the buffet. the eggs were cold and the potatoes as well, and they were'nt really cooked that well. The pastries were not fresh at all and the fruit was just OK. I had a freshly made omelet which was good. The young man pouring coffee was pleasant and service was good. My big surprise was when we were handed a check. My fault for not looking more closely, as I am used to breakfast being included. All the same, the breakfast was not worth $9.95. The day before I had breakfast at a Holiday Inn Express where breakfast was included, and while there were no omelets, the buffet was hot and well done, the pastries were fresh and it was much better for no extra cost. I will check more carefully in the future, and avoid Courtyards that charge for breakfast. So overall clean and comfortable but the breakfast and TV were off-putting. There were other options in the same price range, so we will give them a try next time. The little things count. read more

The amenities here aren't great. I couldn't find a vending machine and the little shop/cafe are both super expensive. The shower design is horrible- the way the door opens, you need to get in the shower to turn it on (meaning you get drenched in cold water). I also don't understand the see through shower in hotel bathrooms. This makes it awkward if you are sharing a room with anyone other than your significant other and you need to get ready at the same time. They have large refillable shampoo/conditioner/soap in the shower, but the bottles are attached to the wall and due to the color of the bottle, you can't tell how much is left. I was already in the shower before I realized the shampoo was empty, so I sent my husband to our friends' room next door to grab some and theirs was empty too! This could be a big problem if you are getting ready in a hurry. The toilet paper was super rough and the towels were pretty cheap too. The hairdryer was hidden in the closet and the iron barely worked (no steam). There were quite a few ants on the windowsill and our friends actually had to switch rooms because there were about 20 stink bugs on their curtains! The fitness center was also under construction while we were there so there was only one functioning treadmill, two bikes and a couple of free weights. Nothing available to clean off the equipment. Overall, it was just not worth the price. This is a Marriott, not some cheap motel. Also, it's Doylestown PA not Philly. For the price I would expect much better. read more

Typical Courtyard. As with any chain, one room looks like the next. Even looking out the window is often provides a view no different from one hotel to the next. Still, this locale was convenient to the in-laws and provided us with a quiet, comfortable place to stay. The staff was friendly, housekeeping didn't bother us, and it was quiet. Their exercise room was a little sparse. The shopping extravaganza of Montgomeryville Mall is across the street. Nothing like staying across the street from a mall on Black Friday! read more

I am staying at the Courtyard Marriott in North Wales for my son 's lacrosse tournament in Kinterville. For that purpose, this hotel is fantastic. The rooms are nice and comfortable, and there is plenty of ice available (for coolers), and there are small refrigerators in the rooms. The location is perfect for errands or entertainment (there is a mall directly across the street and every other type of service and chain within a mile of the hotel). There are lots of iffy places in this area, but this would be my top choice, for sure. The only issue and it's sort of a weird one is that the cement on the bottom of the indoor swimming pool is so jagged that it left cuts on everybody's toes, requiring multiple band aids before putting on their cleats. read more

We went on vacation and spent four nights at a Hampton and our final night at this Marriott. Big mistake. We woke up to find little red ants everywhere. There was a trail on the carpet with hundreds of ants. They blended in well with the carpet, so they were hard to see. The ants were on the desk and in the bathroom, too. We had a bag of snacks that we needed to throw out because there were ants in it. We came home and had to wash everything that was in that room. When I checked out, the lady gave me a ten percent discount. WOW. She said she would tell her manager and the manager would reach out. That did not happen. We only stayed one night, but that was enough. Although easy to find and across the street from a shopping center, the draw of this hotel ended there. Greeted by a large, well lit lobby and very polite and able staff, we were taken aback by the room. It was large enough with a good bed, but it contained no amenities. No frig, no micro wave, nothing. Obviously they want you to eat in their dining area on the first floor, so we went there for breakfast. We found a Starbucks, whose menu was filled with over priced. highly caloric foods. The hotel is obviously concerned with business travelers, but that's not us. A word of warning. read more

This hotel is not a "destination" hotel because it's not RIGHT smack dab in Philadelphia. It's very much a business travelers hotel that is almost ALWAYS busier on weekdays than on weekends. The hotel is MUCH nicer than many of the hotels in the area (comfort inn, best-western inn, etc..). The Staff is fast at checking in guests and always very accommodating. She froze up immediately when asked a simplistic question pertaining to the hotel. This hotel needs more mature, knowledgeable, insightful employees who actually know what they are doing. I have stayed at this location many times. The rooms are standard but the staff make the hotel great. They are always polite and have very quickly handled any issue I may have had (such as a smoker in this non smoking hotel). Some Courtyards have 'The Bistro' but the restaurant in this hotel is by far better. Everything is fresh and they will make any omelette or eggs you want. Unlike the frozen, greasy "healthy start" sandwich I was served in a Houston Courtyard! This hotel is not in downtown Philly but it is nestled in the middle of two dozen restaurants with plenty of shopping including a mall across the street. It is in a safe area too. I often run the streets around the hotel at night with no concerns. I recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the North Whales, Colmar, Ft. Washington and surrounding areas. read more

This is a terrible hotel! I had the unfortunate experience of staying here recently the staff was unspeakably rude and disrespectful. The messed up my family's reservations and as a result of it put four people in a room with one king bed and a lumpy pull out. The pull out was so uncomfortable I was practically crippled the day of my cousins wedding. (We were relocated the following day so that is a positive) but we shouldn't have been in the wrong room from the beginning considering we confirmed. As aforementioned the woman at the front desk was RUDE! My mother polity said just so you know there's a puddle in the hallway, I know you can't really help it bc it's from the pool I just don't want someone to get hurt... And your employees said well "I'm the only one here what would you like me to do about it". This is the worst hotel I've stayed in, I don't recommend it to anyone. But the $9breAkfast was pretty good read more
