I thought the pricing is reasonable for its location, they do charge for overnight parking ($15), NO Complimentary Coffee in the morning, Bummer but a few coffee/breakfast spots very close by. The pricing at the Bistro is a little high compared to other spots close by but very convenient. We will stay again when in the area or flying in & out of Mesa Gateway. read more

Guests Beware of these fraudulent charges...smoke detector scam!!! I stayed here for five nights recently, while my son underwent open-heart bypass surgery at a nearby hospital. I'll keep this factual. At checkout I was charged a $500 "smoking" fee -- over $571 with taxes -- as a lifelong non-smoker who did not smoke in this room. The General Manager's written response confirmed only that the room was "occupied" during the detection window -- not that smoking occurred. She maintained the charge. The sensor report has a critical gap. Its own temperature reading (85.6°F) exceeds its stated normal maximum (84.9°F) -- the AC was off, the room was unventilated, and I had showered and gotten ready that morning. In an unventilated room, ordinary particulates from showering and personal-care products cannot clear. And while the report claims it ruled out showers and aerosols by analyzing TVOCs, it discloses no TVOC reading anywhere -- the one measurement that would distinguish smoke from a shower or spray. Marriott's own corporate Customer Care acknowledged in writing that my points are "valid and detailed" and escalated for further review. No refund has been issued. I have since filed a CFPB complaint (ID: 260620-34415161), an Arizona Attorney General consumer fraud complaint (ID: D5TID-H8IJG), and submitted my case to Elliott Advocacy. To other guests: check your folio carefully at checkout!!! and ask for full sensor data -- including TVOC readings -- before paying any smoking fee. I will update this review with the outcome. Plus don't get me started on the little kids jumping on beds 3-nights in a row above me even though I complained...that is a whole other story.. Also call to front desk rang and rang - several times when I called down...I went down to the front desk (at 10 p.m.) and NO ONE in site...I waited 15 minutes then went back to my room. read more

This hotel was amazing. I arrived in late and Keoshe (sp) was amazing. He knew my name as as he was expecting me as a late check in. He could tell I was super tired and hungry. While I put my things away he asked the kitchen to make me a sandwich. He was so thoughtful. I was going to walk somewhere and he said that there was a driver that could take me or he would ask the kitchen even though they were getting ready to close. Rooms were nice, bed was comfortable. The only negative I have about the place is that it's a cashless location. I don't like that. Other than that, I would highly recommend and go back the next time I'm in the area. read more

Came to AZ for a wedding and this Marriott was the closest to the wedding venue. Pros: Close to Mesa gateway airport. Reasonable price Super friendly staff If you don't have a car, you can walk to A nearby Target for snacks and essentials if your staying for a few nights and run out of items. There is a mini fridge in the room so we walked to target to get bottles of water (because we were tired of paying for water at hotel prices) we also forgot sun screen and also needed snacks. Pool COVID Protocols in place Shuttle nearby to airport Cons: No rooms service (that's important to me...I hate getting dressed to go down for coffee and breakfast in the morning) Which brings me to my next point... They do have a Bistro on-site but the prices are SUPER HIGH. Food was good though and so was the coffee so that's a pro. They never came to clean our room when we left. Even when we asked them too...twice. The one time that I asked, housekeeping had gone for the day and the night manager had to refresh towels. But she didn't restock the coffee or cups. The bed. Omg the bed. Terribly hard. My hips and back are hurting. And after three nights, I'm so excited I don't have to sleep in that hard bed ever again. Most people wore masks but the individuals that didn't, hotel staff didn't say anything. Mask mandate was lifted in AZ a week ago, but businesses can still enforce it. There are signs saying to wear them but folks just decide not too. Frustrating. Last it's 35 min from PHX. Uber rides will cost you $35 each way. Ouch. Please beware before u book a reservation here!!!! Here is my story n I know many of you might think this is a one time occurrence but it happened to many many other guests at this hotel. I booked my 3 night stay at the Courtyard Marriot Mesa Airport weeks in advance of my arrival. I was sent a confirmation code so I thought everything was set. I flew into Phoenix to see n email I received at 12pm that I had no room. I went to the hotel to see why this happened n they blamed it on their online reservation system claiming it over booked. They also stated management decided which guests would get a room n which guests would be moved to another hotel/motel. They stated we would be moved to a comparable hotel in the same location and receive the same type of room (king bed). They moved us to a La Quita and we did not get what they promised. The hotel was older and more run down, two double beds (old uncomfortable beds) and not in the location we wanted to be in. Honestly I do not believe i am receiving the true story of what really happened. I decided to log into the hotel website the day AFTER my anrrival and found there were rooms available at the Courtyard Marriott. Why wouldn't the website state NO ROOMS available? I believe they moved/kicked guests out, that did not prepay and guests that received a discount (AAA or something similar). The other thought is their unpopular sister hotels needed business so this is a good way to fill up hotels. This is not a good customer service experience and will be very very difficult for me to support Marriott Hotels in the future. I hope the Marriott management looks into this location and figures out what is going on at this location. read more

Never said hello or sorry for the inconvenience. Horrible customer service. Not a way to treat a customer who uses your hotel every week. 110 degree day and you would think a hospitality establishment would have some nice ice water to greet you. Not unless you pay $4. Not even a warm free one in the room. Kid working desk was nice, but dingy white shirt and dirty long hair kind of set the tone for this courtyard. The place is not super clean. Our bathroom needs to be gutted. Dingy stained tile in shower and bad plumbing fixtures. Towels were like from the YMCA. Small and scratchy. Can't believe Marriott puts their seal on this place. I stayed here with my family for a week and we had the best experience ever!!! The staff are extra accommodating.... they made sure my toddler was happy and they went out of they way every morning!!!! A special thanks to KAREM who was amazing every morning coming up with all different food for my picky eater.... my son was obsessed with her by the first day!!! The front desk girls were also so friendly!!! CORTNEY would look for my son and get down on her knees to play with him every chance she got!! We also met some of the management who I won't remember the name right now but I can only say great things about this location! I stayed at this hotel one night due to the A/C going out at my house the day before. Almost 24 hours later I could takes no more, so I packed up what I needed for that night and the next day for work and hightailed it over to the Courtyard Marriott by the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport. I requested a room on the top floor and my room faced north, which provided a nice view of the Superstitions and the sunset. I even saw a few fireworks (this was July 7th). Nikki was most helpful at check-in and she made sure I received the best discount available. I asked about the Bistro and she gave me a good recommendation for my meal. I had a couple of questions later and called down, and she promptly provided the requested information. The young man at the Bistro was also helpful and thoughtfully asked if I preferred a certain item on the side, which was an excellent choice. Back in my room--very quiet other than the A/C and fan which provided some nice white noise--I enjoyed my meal while working on my laptop. Plenty of outlets makes this most convenient and the desk chair was very comfortable. I watched a little TV later and since the TV screen can be positioned to face more toward the bed, I found it to be a comfortable viewing experience. (I would love to figure out how to dim the TV screen like I do on my remote at home, but I've never found a way to do that on hotel remotes.) The king-sized mattress was extremely firm--a bit much for me, but of course that is different for everyone--and the pillows were very plump and soft. I enjoyed lounging and reading and then finally catching up on the sleep I'd missed the night before. The bathroom was just fine--I had forgotten my toiletries in my haste while packing, so I was glad to use what the hotel provided. I would have loved to try one of their Bistro breakfasts but I had to get to work. I might stop in and try one when I am in the area, which is often. I am very glad this hotel was around when I needed it and I know I wasn't the only one; I was told a few people had checked in the same day due to malfunctioning A/C! read more

Due to a flight delay I was told by the front desk that their shuttle could not pick me up as it stopped running after 11pm. Understandable. By the time I got checked in it was close to midnight. I made reservations on a Monday night for Wednesday. I received confirmation. Wednesday night at around 7 pm got to the Hotel. When I walked in and gave my name, the gentleman kinda looked at me strange. Then told me they overbooked and had no rooms. I was shocked. We were in Arizona for funeral. No idea where to go,never been in Mesa before. The gentleman really didn't seem to care. I asked if he could call another Hotel, he did and they had rooms. But all day Tuesday or Wednesday before we got there, WHY no phone call to tell us overbooked. This was such a bad experience. read more

Fantastic location if you are flying out of Mesa gateway. 5 minutes to airport and within walking distance of lots of restaurants, we chose to eat in the hotel restaurant and were pleasantly surprised the food was good quality, the happy hour made the price point a good value. The rooms are large and spotless with nice amenities and a very large shower. That being said the people working there are outstanding I don't know where they find them but they do. Everyone was so nice and polite from the front desk to housekeeping to the Bistro. We stayed for a dance competition and everyone congratulated my daughter for her wins when she came back with trophies. When we were checking in, there was a man in line behind us, and the lady at the front desk came around and showed us our room number instead of saying it out loud. Nobody has ever done that for me before, traveling as a single woman with kids I didn't realize how much I would appreciate that extra level of safety and security. Booked a room with a guest room space, was given a smaller room with a chair. Asked front desk person to switch us out. After a ridiculously long hold, she said she would make it happen, she never got back to us. I called again and a different person said they didn't know about the problem. Also the hotel is cheaply built, where the bed shakes every time an exterior door shuts. Sleep here is a task because you can hear the normal Noise of people moving around coming and going. Asked for a late checkout and again was put on hold for an unusual amount of time. There are better hotels around the area. read more

I have stayed here two different times. My parents were flying out of Gateway Airport. They have a shuttle that will take you for free. If you are taking an early flight don't worry the first shuttle will get you there in time. You can also leave your car there in the hotel parking lot for something like $20 total not a night. This is if you need to leave your car while you fly. When you enter the lobby you will see it is a typical Courtyard with the smaller front desk, the touch screen TV's with local weather & other helpful information about the area. This Courtyard's rooms are modern & I just love them. I can be a hotel snob and this is a favorite of mine when in the Mesa area. The bathrooms are clean & very stylish. The cutout shower shelf is a nice feature. You can reach the toiletries & towels inside or out of the shower. The parking lot can get full later in the evening. You are so close to the airport, but you don't hear the noise from the planes. There are a lot of restaurants close as well as a super Walmart and Target. The rooms have microwaves and refrigerators. They also have plenty of outlets throughout for charging your gadgets. You can also access Netflix in your room which a lot of Marriotts now offer. The staff is very courteous and helpful. You can print your boarding pass off on the designated computers in the lobby. There are snacks and sodas in the lobby that have daily sales. I didn't try the bar/coffee bar, but my parents did and were happy with their breakfast. The pool looks small, but inviting. I didn't find anything I didn't like about this location. read more

We let someone borrow our Tesla to drive to the airport. They left it worun0% charge at the curb. In a frantic attempt to charge it, we managed to get to this hotel. We explained the situation and asked for help..simply to charge the car until we had enough to get to a Tesla Charger. We were informed by the , "You can't charge here. It isn't safe. Your charge cord could short out the hotel and damage it. Unplug it or I will call the POLICE!!" Seriously?! We were left standing in pouring rain, no charge, on our twins' birthday at 6am and no one was willing to help us. To threaten to call the police was unnecessary. We've stayed in quite a few Courtyards and this one was pretty nice. Easy to find, parking simple and even though it is next to the Mesa Gateway Airport, I think I heard/saw a plane maybe twice during our stay and never where it disturbed me. The location is great because within walking distance are tons of places to eat, shopping, a Walmart and a Target. This works out great because not only do the rooms have the dorm sized fridges but this was the first Courtyard we've been in that had microwaves in the rooms. Hot damn! No need to go to the lobby to heat up anything or buy an over priced snack. The hotel is just a bit over a year old and is very nice. Exercise room, laundry and meeting facilities. It's also the first Courtyard we've been in that had an outdoor pool - it is Arizona after all - and showers with doors instead of that half wall thingy. While the staff was nice they were just doing their jobs. I've experienced friendlier at other locations. My only gripe was the coffee. Says Starbucks but when I went to get some one morning it was after "breakfast" hours and they were closed up tighter than a miser's purse strings. I eventually was able to get coffee but it wasn't even Starbucks brand - huh???? Would we return? We will again later this year. read more

The service of two employees, Skip and Tanise, really stood out to me. Most of the time at any given Courtyard across the country you can expect good customer care; however, the several interactions I had both Skip (had to extend my stay twice during my stay) and Tanise (we picked up our conversation from earlier in the week and she added a personalized touch to my bistro meal) were exceptional. They treated me as if I were a VIP and not just a typical guest in their hotel. I truly feel they provide that service to everyone. And for that, I will be sure to stay here the next time I'm in Mesa. read more

I travelled here for work and was pleased with my stay. Courtyard by Marriott is modern, clean, and operated by an incredibly professional and friendly staff. There are several areas in the lobby to setup "office" for the day and I especially enjoy the fitness room setup. My only gripe comes with the occasional change of wind and the big whiff of nearby cattle--I had to turn off the air conditioner in my room, so to not gas myself out. Beautiful hotel. We only stayed one night but the price was good for this above average property. The room was comfortable and stylish and we loved the small touches like the shower shelf that can be reached from inside and outside the shower, the swivel TV, the large amount of USB/Power stations all over the room. Loved that we could print boarding passes in the lobby and that you could get Starbucks coffee in the evening so you don't have to run out to the coffee shop. Staff was helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay here again next time we're in the area. Wish all Courtyards were like this one. read more

Fred Thomas was on duty in Feb, At near midnight when I collected my Aunt at the airport, we were headed to Sedona before the snow storm, he looked up ADOT cameras, looked up weather stations...gave us confidence that we could drive to Sedona before the worst hit. This review is based primarily on the lack of management skills of this property which was completely unprofessional. My husband is an SPG (yes, they own Marriott now) Gold member and our reservation was booked through the Marriott app. Upon our late (9pm) arrival, the FD informed us they were ~90% full and could do nothing about our status and placed us in a room next to the ice machine. We reserved (and prepaid) for a King sized bed, however, once we entered the room it was very obvious the bed was NOT a King anyway you slice it. We were exhausted from traveling all day, visiting family and since the FD gave us no other options, we crashed. **We own a King bed. We pay for King beds for almost all our hotel stays. If they want to call a bed where you can lay down and reach the other side a King, I would hate to see what their Queen rooms are. Full? Twins?** Upon check out, I informed the FD about the bed situation and was told it was a King room. I requested a Supe to contact us to resolve this issue but, they never reached out to us WE had to call them back. The Supe reiterated it was a King and initiated an argument with my husband. Upset and unnerved by her response, we suggested the GM contact us. She did the next day (via speakerphone and a room full of people) and proceeded to repeat her fellow employees opinions that it was a King bed in our specific room and initiate yet another argument with my husband. ALL employees insinuated we were liars and did absolutely NOTHING to resolve this ridiculous situation; such a disappointment to lose business on something so silly. The room itself was clean, modern and decent enough thus the 2 stars. read more
