While in town for business I booked my stay at this property. Last time I was in town, I stayed right down the street at the Sheraton (which has mediocre to bad reviews) and I completely understand why it's got the reviews it has... YUCK! Definitely won't stay at that Sheraton again! As for this property, the Courtyard - AWESOME... From the check-in process to the overall cleanliness of the property and the room (some of which I viewed when walking by rooms and seeing the housekeeping staff cleaning). I liked it all... I mean, it wasn't the best, but it's definitely, by far sooo much better than the nasty Sheraton down the street and better than many other Courtyards, Fairfields, and Sheratons I've stayed in lately for work. I wish Marriott would work to fix this issue, as it's a relatively new problem I've noticed over the past few years that all the properties I've stayed in were poorly managed, not kept clean, dysfunctional, etc.... This property definitely wasn't like that at all... it reminded me why I prefer to stay in Marriotts. I'll definitely stay here again when visiting, as I've got a lot of work to do in the area and will be back! read more

After an issue with our flight, we were forced to find overnight accommodations on our own. We looked online at various airport hotels and chose this one. It was a great choice! Was able to use their shuttle service to get there (& back @ 4 am the next morning), had a comfortable room at a reasonable price AND they even had a bar with hot entrees that we could order. After the day we had, we needed a beverage and some hot food! Will definitely remember this location should we ever need accommodations again near the Pittsburgh airport. read more

Get some people who aren't old bitches who dont know customer service. My team was here for a tournament and this was the worst stay we have ever had. The two front desk ladies were amazing but the cranky old people need to be put in a home. If you are hosting 4+ teams for a hockey tournament than you might need to expect some kids hanging out. read more

Marriott hotels are usually my hotel of choice. This one made me very very frustrated. I have a son- who's 18- and one of his friends - also 18-, who was flying south to visit family. They were scheduled to fly out on Monday morning at 6am. Needed to be at the airport by 4am. 4 days prior to them leaving, I called Marriott to verify a few questions before I booked. One question was, what is the check in age for this hotel -my son is 18, and I will not be the one dropping them off, so I need to make sure he can get in. I was informed on this date that the check in age was 18 and there wouldn't be any issues. My second question was, How do I book a shuttle for them to get to the airport ( Marriott site for this hotel plainly says, free shuttle to and from the airport, and the main reason why I opted for this hotel and not the expensive one attached to the airport) I was told, "oh, no problem, just let the front desk know on the day you arrive." I didn't book over the phone with the girl at that time bc I already had it pulled up on my laptop to book with my points, and told her I'd just continue it that way. (plus I wanted to talk to my son before booking and he wasn't home at that time.) Fast forward to the next day.. I am now wanting to book the stay with this hotel. I hop back onto marriott and realize that I cannot book with my points and have my son as the main check in guest, which may pose a problem.. So, I call Mariott back and ask her how to get him as the main guest and I would like to book that night. She said she needed to put a code in, basically gifting the points to him and adding him as the main guest. Since the hotel was now booked, I inquired AGAIN about the shuttle and was once again told to just tell the front desk when he gets there and they will schedule one. I got a confirmation shortly after and I thought all was good to go. The day before, where I can check in on my app, I did so and also created a chat with the front desk asking about the shuttle once again. I kept pressing the subject bc I knew no one was going to be there to take them to the airport, hence the reason why they were staying at this hotel and wanted to insure things would run smoothly. The day he is scheduled to check in, his friend that was originally supposed to drop them off at the hotel, couldn't, which forced me to make the trip (glad I did). We arrive, he walks in the lobby to check in, and the lady proceeds to tell him he can't check in, he's not 21. I get him checked in, but thank goodness I ended having to go or else he wouldn't have been able to. I leave the hotel right after this, only to get a phone call from my son saying that they don't have shuttle available for the next morning, that they are all booked up. I call the front desk myself while on the drive home, bc I was already told, that now both of these issues, weren't going to be an issue. I address both issues now with her over the phone ( being 21 and the shuttle) She explains to me that they are under new ownership and the age is 21 and the shuttle is on a reservation basis. (I've been trying to reserve the freaking shuttle for 4 days now and I get told the same thing - do it the day of.) I told her the information I got, came directly from them and gave her a name of the lady I spoke with. She says, no one by that name works here.. I tell her, " I called this same number and hit '2' for reservations. Their people, representing their company gave me all this information- 3 times!!! She then tells me there is nothing she can do, the shuttle only holds 8 people and it's been booked up for a while. I am beyond frustrated bc none of this is my fault. I thought I dotted my I's and crossed my T's to make this run smoothly.. So, in the end I had to book an uber, that cost me an additional $50 to get him to the airport in the morning. I think it's unfair, as I did everything they told me to do, only for them to drop the ball. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone, until they get their **** figured out. read more

This hotel is pretty good for business trips in the Pittsburgh area, and is pretty close to the airport. Its a bit dated but offers lots of basic amenities: 1. Free Wifi 2. Nice lobby area with lots of outlets 3. Free airport shuttle 4. Indoor pool and real tiny gym (which incidentally has the only water dispenser) Rooms were okay. Pillows were annoyingly small and you need to use several for support. Walls a bit thin and I can hear snoring at times from next door. Food options are pretty limited and there's no free coffee in the lobby. To get around, Uber is recommended since cabs can be 20-minutes out. The hotel is also a bit remote and most of the better restaurants are probably in downtown Pittsburgh. read more

The room itself was decent and thankfully you cannot hear road noise or airport noise. They had a 3rd party shuttle that drove people to the airport as needed, but make sure you're on time downstairs waiting, because it sometimes attempts to leave early which is really awful/ sucks. The reason I'm writing this review is because check your room before you start to unpack in case you need to switch rooms. I unfortunately walked into my room and ignored the fact that it smelled like a locker. Literal cups of sweat is what it smelled like, it was kind of like when you open up a couch and the pillows are incredibly stale and there's been 3 decades of people sweating all over it, I mean it was awful, but I was tired I only had one night to be there and so I opened windows and burn some incense to attempt to make the place not completely reek. There is one microwave downstairs to use but there are not microwaves in the room only a small refrigerator.. I think microwaves have been in hotel rooms since about 2006 so I have to say that is quite lacking. The Courtyard in the middle looked nice and there was a lot of seating to hang out outdoors if you enjoy that as well. Really mixed review I know, it was hard to decide but I gave it 3 stars ultimately. If the room did not smell so bad it would have had 4 stars. The neighborhood is not walkable at all and there are 0 stores or restaurants not even within a mile, or bit more. read more

I'm so disappointed with the way the Management handle refunds. The lack of good customer service is absurd. When did these high end companies start taking customers money? I have been a platinum Marriott member for years. I've stayed at a lot of Marriott properties. This one is likely one of the worst. The room smells like cigarettes and ionization. The tv is so old the volume shuts off in its own. I'm surprised Marriott stamps its name in this place. Toe $20 difference is not worth it. Stay elsewhere. read more

We stayed one night at this hotel due to my niece having an early flight the next morning. We arrived around 9 PM and were greeted by friendly staff. Check in was a breeze. The walk to the elevator was long, but not a big deal. Our room was very clean and comfortable. There is a little cafe to get food, drinks, and Starbucks. There is plenty of casual seating areas, as well as a semi private area with loungers and a TV. The courtyard has a lovely fire pit with outdoor seating. The hotel as a whole is updated, clean, and convenient to the airport. I will definitely stay here again! read more

I arrived in Pittsburgh in the evening and called the hotel for shuttle pick-up. The driver had just left so it took about 13 minutes for him to drop off and circle back so not too bad of a wait. Apparently he was either in a foul mood or needed to take a nap because he didn't say a word when he picked me and another passenger up. He opened up the back door and put our luggage in. I opened up the passenger sliding door so we could get in. The ride was to the hotel was quiet. Once we arrived, he hopped out, put our luggage out and walked inside. I was holding his tip in my hand to give it to him, but he didn't even acknowledge me so the tip went back into my wallet. Check-in: although the computers were down, they were able to get me checked in fairly quickly. What I didn't realize is that their computers being down meant no internet. NOOOO!!! Oh well. The room was nice and appeared to have been recently renovated. What I couldn't figure out was the smell. There was a nasty (moldy?) smell when I washed my hands that eventually permeated to the sleeping area. At times, it was quite strong, but mostly not. I ate dinner in the Bistro since this location is not near (walking distance) any restaurants from what I saw. Apparently everyone had that idea as they were backed up. I ordered a salad and fries and it took about 40 minutes to get my dinner. The wonderful customer service caused me to overlook that though. Check-out: computers were still down the next morning so they stated they would email me a receipt once the system was back up and running. Shuttle: different ride. The gentleman that took me to the airport the next day opened the door, was talkative and had wonderful customer service. He also received a tip. I would stay here again. read more

Due to all of the construction, I would stay away from this place. Currently it is very difficult to be able to find your way into the hotel. The hotel does have an ant issue in the rooms as i have had to kill several of them. The Bistro is severely understaffed as I have been waiting 45 minutes for my food. Due to all of the construction guests are opting to eat at the hotel and management should know better and have more than two people at the bistro. read more

This is a nice hotel with very friendly staff. The AC didn't get quite cold enough and the layout seemed very off like the old, old ones. But the inside is updated. They do charge $4 for water which seems silly. The coffee in the room was pretty good. The restaurant hours are limited but the food is pretty tasty. I had a grain bowl - a little heavy on the cheese and light on the grain and lettuce but overall very tasty. read more

The room as super clean and the Bistro had a decent menu. The Bistro seemed a bit under staffed --- but this could be addressed with an additional team member. I'd say this is a solid hotel! I came for my sister's graduation, and got in super late. I called the hotel to get a shuttle from the airport. I love that this is an option, as Uber is suuuuuper expensive over there. However, it did take about 45 minutes for the shuttle to arrive. Aside from that, the facilities were all very clean, and the desk staff was very friendly and kind. Overall, I was comfortable here, and would likely stay here again if I had to come to the area. It's also close to a Cracker Barrel, so...since there's no free breakfast at the hotel itself...you might as well pay for yummy Cracker Barrel! read more

Do not stay here. It is surrounded by construction. They didn't have the parking lot lights on so it was very difficult and dangerous. When I mentioned that the lights weren't on they were like oh well he just turned them on. It had been dark for hOurs. The front desk was rude. The Bistro wanted $22 for a glass of wine. Summary: Do yourself a favor and don't stay here. It's far from clean, you hear your neighbors coughing through the walls, and the unprofessionalism of staff is beyond astounding. Details: Checked in late after flying 10-hours. I looked around, found the room to be ok. When I went into the bathroom, I noticed there was somebody else's hair all over the floor and in the bathtub. I then noticed it was stuck on my socks from walking around the room. And the toilet was clogged to boot! It flushed well enough, and I was already changed for bed, so I didn't want to deal with a maintenance person coming into my room at 10pm (the bed was clean at least). I laid towels on the floor and "swept"the bathroom floor with toilet paper to prevent any additional hair from getting on me. I called the front desk and asked the staff person to schedule a thorough cleaning and repair for the next day since I was tired and not dressed appropriately. He insisted they come into my room at that moment! He then offered me points in exchange for the incident, but quickly and condescendingly rescinded the offer unless I let them into the room immediately. I said no. - again. So, he told me I had to take the issue up with corporate Marriott. I did. Don't stay here. read more

I had a nice enough stay here, but nothing special. Room was okay. Workout room had treadmills, a stationary bike and I think a few weights. No coffee, water, anything in the lobby. Just not used to a no frills hotel. I guess I never realized this was the case with their courtyards. Will have to keep this in mind the next time I travel! read more

This is one of the older Courtyards. I've been to a few and this is one that you can just feel they're trying to keep up to date. It's 2 stories only, and the halls are long. I actually don't even know where the elevators are because mine was above the lobby area on the second floor so I could just take the stairs. The lobby is renovated and modern... the rooms, not so much. The carpets are old which gives it an old feel to it. Also, in my room the wireless internet wasn't working, although I hardwired it with no problems. The complimentary shuttle to/from the airport takes 15 minutes. It's actually on the backside of the airport so you have to go all the way around. Somewhat of a pain, and therefore not really as close as you think it is. I got a good deal on priceline (less than 35) so for the price I consider it a deal. They also have an indoor pool with twice as much chlorine as I feel is necessary. read more

I read the previous reviews, and yes, the basic structure is a little dated, but my room was extremely good: nice shower, bath, bed, tv setup, easy and free internet access (*wired* access - every place should have this!). I think my room must've been remodeled, because it was very nice. Staff was very nice. One thing I appreciated was that the snack/convenience "market" by the registration desk, although not sporting a great variety, was reasonably priced -- more on the market prices side than airport prices, that's for sure! They do have to charge restaurant tax on food purchases (although it's not that much). I did not use the gym or the pool/tub, but this is where there's not much: a few cardio machines (new or fairly new), and the pool is not too big. I got it for a pretty good rate (Priceline), so I was more than satisfied with what I got. read more

It is a tired hotel; the electrical outlets in my room were so worn that the plugs would fall out of the socket. I sleep well and the staff was good; they have the Wall Street Journal for free. The breakfast is $12 for the buffet, but they have eggs to order on some days. They are promising a removed hotel soon read more

I would normally give a higher rating as I stay here often when flying out early from Pittsburgh International. I find the staff to be ultra friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean. Bistro food not bad. However, there was a new driver this morning for the airport van. Can only be described as a grumpy old man. Downright nasty. Nasty enough to have me rethinking locations for future airport stays. I have never had an issue here but this man really soured me. Not a morning person and sooo did not appreciate his nasty attitude. I try to tip well. Zero today. You can do better Marriott!!!! read more

Stayed here for two days, got a king suite. Check in was easy. WiFi was easy to log on, free parking, air worked well, clean, and the staff was friendly. Would consider staying again. Didn't really take advantage of anything else in the hotel since I was barley in the room due to a wedding I was attending. read more

Amazing staff, quick checkin, and fast hotel shuttle make this place a lovely choice for a business stay. The beds were very clean and comfortable. I suppose I'll never understand the standard Marriott room setup, but at least in my room the TV swiveled sufficiently that I was able to watch from bed. Also of note: in the King rooms, you are provided 4 pillows, 2 of which are firm and 2 soft, so whichever you prefer for sleeping, the choice is there. Curtains closed sufficiently to keep out the light so I could sleep better. Everything was remarkably clean upon checkin. I give kudos to the woman who worked the breakfast counter at the bistro, I was courteously greeted and she made sure to give me every amenity, and had the most cheerful smile I've ever seen at any of my Marriott stays. The hotel has two floors, so you don't really need the elevator if you're not disabled, although one is provided. Keep one thing in mind: If you check into a room with low numbers in the last two digits, you'll be walking a LOOONNNGG way from the lobby to your room. I was in room 203 and after checking in and climbing the short stairway, I had to go down three long hallways past four sections before I could put my key in the door. It was about as far from everything (ice, elevator, lobby) as the room could possibly be. Thankfully, that didn't concern me much as I was an able-bodied person on a business trip. But if you want a room closer to the entrance and amenities, ask for a higher-numbered one. read more

I am here on business & couldn't be happier with my accomodations. Being a member of the Marriott Hotel chain certainly has its perks. This particular location is super clean. My room is tidy and housekeeping is super friendly. From the helpfulness at the front desk to the comfort of my room, it makes being away from home much more manageable. What I liked about this hotel is that it was clean and everything seems to be new and updated. What ruined the experience is having someone knock then come in at 8 something when I was still sleeping. Apparently it was housekeeping when I called to complain. This is the first hotel in many hotels, Courtyard by Marriott hotels included, that this has happened. There was also construction going on in when we stayed (April-May 2018) and loud noises could be heard outside our room. read more

I am a Marriott Elite member and wasn't greeted accordingly. Definitely wasn't happy with the way I was checked in as compared to many other Marriott facilities. Most places give me water complimentary and explain the features of the hotel or the perks of my Gold status. I felt rushed and under appreciated. The bed in the room was extremely uncomfortable and I could barely sleep. I walked out with a back ache and regretted using my 10,000 per room (times 2) for the night at this hotel. I won't stay here again and will use more points to stay somewhere else. read more

Besides the (paid) park and fly service and shuttle service they offer, this place was a nightmare experience. There were ants crawling on all of our things when we woke up. None of us slept good because we felt itchy and I felt like something was biting me at one point. When we went to brush our teeth, a ginormous "thousand legger" as we call them (a hideous and scary really fast bug) sped across the sink. Upon leaving the room, we encountered another one in the hallway to the lobby. The room smelled, the entrance is an an awkward spot and far away from any parking, and it just does not live up to a Marriott standard. *We did mention the bugs when about to board the shuttle.. and we were just shrugged off. I would never stay here again. It's winter time and they somehow have bug problem. Yuck. read more

Not a bad hotel. Has received a recent update. Everything inside looks pretty fresh and new. I love the super white, super clean tub and the bed was comfy. However we were provided only a thin top blanket. We used the SPG app to order additional blankets and came back to the room to find two extra blankets waiting for us. Now to nitpick. $13 for a glass of chardonnay, at a Courtyard in Coraopolis? This isn't midtown Manhattan. That is just absurdly above market pricing and not at all appreciated. Also, come into the 20th century and provide some USB ports by the bed, in the bathroom, somewhere. It's not like we haven't needed to charge our devices for the last 15 years. Also, please don't disable my key card for non-main entry doors until after I've checked out. Was rather annoying to park near our room only to have to walk all the way around the building because our cards were disabled on Sunday morning. TVs are smaller than most hotels today.
