First room I was given - not clean or ready for new guest.
    Tameka R.

First room provided to me wasn't clean. The bed was not made and smelled like smoke. The second room provided to me was clean and it was comfortable. Staff was accommodating and very nice. For NYE night the price was decent. It was a smaller hotel so it didn't have a lot of amenities which was fine since I planned to be out for the evening. I didn't see a lot of COViD protocol in my room like remote control in plastic once it had been sanitized and toilet sealed with paper strip after being cleaned. The hotel was quiet and it was a comfortable stay. The location is convenient to a lot of things, but very hard to get to with the traffic of Glenwood and it being near an intersection. There were also signs in the parking lot stating they are not responsible for any car theft. Overall it was a good stay I would do a return stay again if I had plans to just sleep in the room because I was out like I did this time.

The centerpiece of the house's interior is a rotunda supported by four Corinthian columns and lit by a stained glass window located on the roof. Walking into the foyer you cant help but embrace the timeless grace, where every corner whispers of history and a bygone era. There is a quiet serenity to the space, as if time slows just a little bit inside. The modern touch added to the old renovated mansion does come with a bit of a sharp, sterile elegance of a modern mansion. The Parlor is a great place to enjoy a delicious craft cocktail and even better, ADULTS ONLY! There are also many other lovely seating arrangements throughout the property, including outdoors, and a few even come with fire pits. Regardless of your intentions for visiting the Heights House, I am quite confident there will be no disappointments, unless they have a private event. Cheers!

Everything is lovely and though it is all modern and sleek, it still feels fitting for the original era of the house. The cocktail area takes up most of the main floor, with a stand-up bar just off the entryway with a few tables and then a larger lounging area with sofas and chairs just beyond. The drinks are exceptionally good, and the spirits menu is creative. They also offer a few small plates. There is plenty of paved parking immediately next to the hotel for guests only, so that is not a hassle as it can be at some B&B/inn-type establishments. At check-in, you are offered a complimentary glass of sparkling wine to set the tone. The rooms are comfortable, but I will say that the entry-level ones are quite small (which is apparent on the website), but for the rates charged there isn't even a place to sit and read a book other than the bed. There's one small, delicate wicker chair that would be for tying shoes or whatever, but not lounging. The bed is luxuriously dressed, and there is drawer space and a minifridge, but no closet -- hanging items can go on hooks by the door out in the open. The bathroom is spacious enough, with a broad sink and elegant tilework. The lighting fixtures throughout are nifty. I found the breakfast sort of average for this type of place. I came later on, so perhaps there is more earlier, but there were a few pastries, some hard-boiled eggs, and fruit when I arrived. There's also a fancy coffee-drink contraption, but those aren't my thing so I left that alone. It's a very easy walk across the Boylan Bridge and down a couple of blocks to the area of the Dillon with several restaurants, and the performing arts center is not far beyond that. Location-wise, there's plenty that's walkable but also more an easy drive away.

Beds were comfy, nice pillows, I liked the view of the convention center from top floor. Shout out to "Brie" (hope I spelled her name right) in the club lounge. Loved her energy. She was welcoming, super friendly, and kept things running smoothly. Only downside is the lounge was closed Friday & Saturday, wish Marriott Hotels would change this one da and keep the lounge open on weekends. Though I've never been a the biggest fan of valet parking, the staff handling this assignment did a great job. If you're into authentic southern food, the Rye restaurant fits the bill, this was also a hit. Overall, I had a wonderful stay at the RMCC, it's ideal for business travelers like myself. Ive stayed I plenty of Hotels in the area, this is one of the better one in all of Raleigh.

Paid the higher rate and got the breakfast package and absoluelty not impressed witht he food here. I enjoyed comfy beds, good water pressure and hot water (11th Floor), and great views of the city. Did run into a snarky reception when asked for a bottle of water. Told me she would make an exception but vending machines were on every floor. I told her she could bill it to the room but she made some note on my account, asked what room I was in and said it was a courtesy this time. I feel like delivery of the conversation could have been better. Meanwhile another rep offered my coworkers a free bottle the next day after we came in from lunch. I didn't even engage. Aside from that experience, I personally would not select that breakfast included add on offer in the future but did like how you can choose from anything on the menu and were not limited. I would stay here again and looks like a much better option than the Sheraton Nextdoor. Overall service was ok, house keeping was great and left little thank you notes, and the rooms were modern. The lobby had that inviting smell, and the hotel also had a nice fitness center, hot tub, and pool were a plus if you are looking for that.

However we were so…read moreimpressed with this hotel that we would certainly return to this location and try out other locations as well for our next long stay. Some points regarding our stay here: Check-in: Quick and easy, front desk was very helpful. Free breakfast: I've been to a number of hotels that offered this but sometimes with free breakfast it can be a bit or miss regarding the quality of the fare. Residence Inn Raleigh Downtown delivered with quality breakfast and very polite and attentive staff. Parking: $12 a night with all the in and out you want, which was awesome since it allowed us to be able to come back to our room to take breaks in between exploring the area and visiting friends/family. Room style and cleanliness: Room was extremely clean. Despite having a kitchen did not see a single bug in sight during our entire stay. Unfortunately housekeeping only takes out trash and gives you new towels, soap and paper towel/toilet paper not full service housekeeping so something to keep in mind. Room was very spacious. We were in the King suite with studio and kitchen, and there was a good gradual separation between spaces. Sizable bathroom and shower. Water pressure wasn't that great in the shower though. So would just note that. Amenities: Since hotel accommodates long stays, there were plenty of amenities including a gym, that husbae made full use of, complete with towel service and refill station, laundry on site, dry cleaning service, business center, sundry store and lounge/patio. Restaurants: We did not dine at Overlook except for the free breakfast so cannot really speak to that. However we did begin our NYE night with 10th and Terrace which had amazing views of the area and was a perfect spot to watch the fireworks. Food and drink weren't necessarily exceptional and unfortunately since the restaurant was so small they didn't let people stay till the fireworks unless they kept ordering. Would recommend to them to charge cover next time for a busy night like NYE. Check-out: Some hiccups as we booked our stay through Expedia but overall staff were respectful and patient. Overall will certainly recommend Residence Inn Raleigh Downtown and consider this location for future stays.

While there have been outstanding hotels, this one, The Residence Inn by Marriott Downtown Raleigh, NC, tops them! From the first moment we walked in the lobby and were greeted warmly, to check out when they acted like they were so happy we'd stayed there..everyone was friendly, kind, and so helpful! The lobby is decorated so nicely! The chandeliers are cool! Each one throughout the hotel is different. We found them in hallways, the restaurant, the lobby, near the elevators..everywhere! Just a cool, chic place! We had breakfast in the Overlook restaurant in the hotel each morning of our stay. Each morning was an all you can eat, buffet style, amazing spread! There were scrambled eggs each morning (we were there for three mornings), but different meats, different types of potatoes, grits, oatmeal, cold cereals, fruits, yogurts, an array of breads, juices, a coffee bar with tea and hot chocolate as well, and soooooo many toppings and spreads to go on anything you want. Our room was very nice, very clean, and the shower is huge! The staff was attentive, both in the restaurant and the hotel as a whole. Our tv went out twice, and both times when we called the front desk, they apologized and sent a tech up to help us. The housekeepers checked in to make sure we had whatever ever we needed; and everywhere we turned there was friendliness. Our hotel was directly across the street from the Martin Marietta theater where we had tickets for a show. So, after a yummy dinner in the Overlook restaurant, we strolled across the street and enjoy an evening with Henry Cho! We walked around downtown, enjoyed a weekend away from home, and felt very safe and secure. We will definitely be back, Residence Inn! We were tickled with the stay and the attention to detail you guys hand out! We will be back, Residence Inn!!
