Breakfast Room

This place is your fairly typical Best Western. It was neat and clean, but certainly nothing special. I thought it was a perfectly acceptable place to spend the night. I was able to snag a fairly good room rate for the night, so in all fairness I think you have to rate the place in relation to how much you paid for the room. Obviously, this is no Marriott or Hilton, but it's also a lot cheaper. So you get what you pay for.

Cute style and decor - very clean

Clean, well run establishment, with many impressive appreciation awards from military. For some reason, I missed it the first time around as there are several hotels in a cluster at the intersection. They accommodated us in the middle of the night, after visiting a family member in the hospital. They were considerate and checked the room personally before checking us in to make sure it was good. We felt safe staying here, even though the area looked a little rough at night. The location was close to everything one could need and nearby beaches and plenty of shopping. And a short drive to Carlsbad. The bed was firm but adequate and we slept well. The room was clean, and the grounds well maintained. There are pretty seaside scenes by each room number. We loved the generous, quality hot breakfast. The attendant was professional and made sure everything was filled. The tables were clean and the food tasted delicious. The coffee was great too. And they had plenty of fresh, great tasting decaf and juice. We were looking for a clean, accessible, safe, affordable place to stay, and we were very pleased we found this gem! Thank you, BWPOceanside for your courteous and kind service and for making us feel at home! We will be back.

This was a very nice stay. We wanted to be on the ocean, but this hotel is about 2 blocks up. When I went to check in, the attendant Tobias, at the front desk moved us to a room "with a view"! We could see the ocean off a ways. Tobias was so accommodating; and in more ways than one; he was Just downright friendly. We forgot a few things and he made sure we were good. He seemed to be that way with everyone. Around the hotel: There's a clean, nice sparkling little pool outside. In our room things were cozy, yet a bit small. The beds were doable, not the best but very clean. There was was a small gym that was functional. What is more, I loved the two sitting rooms with large TVs. But we especially loved the fire pit. We always travel with our largest iPad and mini speaker. We went and got free coffee and hot chocolate (Yep free!!! With creamers I n large fresh dispensers that was actually good!!!) So, we went outside twice, set things up and enjoyed a movie in the cool night air with a toasty fire and each other. We even moved inside to one of the sitting rooms and chatted for a bit. Just helped with spaciousness. We would certainly come back if we were to return to Oceanside.

Stay away from this place. Management is clueless, and doesn't care one iota about the guest experience. We booked two nights and arrived later in the evening, so we checked in and went out to dinner. After returning and going to bed my wife was bitten by what she thought was a spider. She turned on the light and it was a bed bug. We called the front desk and they said they couldn't do anything for us but bring us new sheets. Never mind replacing them, they just dropped them off at the door. We checked the second bed and moved there since everything in the area was sold out, but more bed bugs found their way out. Not sure if they were in the headboard, or where, but they are there. Left message for manager to call us, never got back to us and was never in when we stopped at front desk. After checking out we asked that he call us, never called, so we escalated with Priceline and manager said they checked and there was no sign of bedbugs so he denied any refund or fee adjustment. Submitted photos and video and waiting for results, but stay away from this dump. Go to Carlsbad and stay at a nicer place. This place stinks.

Big shout out to Kaylen who was super nice during the check in process and made us feel so welcome. Loved the champagne and chocolates at check in. Pros: 1. Friendly customer service at every turn. 2. I had an ocean view queen and it was perfect on the top floor overlooking the pool and the ocean. Best views in town! 3. Hot tub and pool are good, open from 8 am - 10 pm. To avoid crowds, go early or after 8:30 pm. 4. It's close to the train station and if you are coming from LA, this is a great option. 5. Dog friendly hotel Cons: 1. Valet only which can get expensive but there are lots a few blocks away, which have over night parking for super reasonable rates, so you can avoid extra valet fees. Most restaurants are walking and the area is super dog friendly. I had so much of fun and an amazingly relaxing vacation, I will definitely be back.

Conference room was nice and all the AV worked well. Valet parking for $10 was provided for conference goers. I parked in the public lot right across the street for $5.50/day and its literally a stone's throw away. Lunch was Greek cuisine and all of it delicious. The snacks at break were OK too. Bathrooms are nice and just mesmerizing views of the ocean from many parts of the hotel. Id definitely come back again to hang out here another day when not working. Its very chill and classy too. Loved it!

We enjoyed it and will probably make this one of the primary places we stay now. Parking is reserved which is wonderful. We were worried because we were checking in on a Thursday which is Sunset Market but even with that the parking wasn't an issue. The check in process was a little odd because you aren't really sure how to get to your room until you figure out where the elevator is but once you get the door code down and know where to go it's super easy. The room was clean and comfortable. I liked that it had the attached coffee shop and the Oceanside location of Stone. We were also excited that they had a tiki bar in the hotel but the service in the bar wasn't very good. Everything else was great!

A couple things that I thought were a bit weird in the room specifically was the distance between the faucet and the sink were pretty close and the parking is about 2 blocks away, but its not a bad walk AND its specific to your room number which is really nice. I kind of wish the tv swivel towards the bed. Communication between the hotel was great. They assign rooms to you ahead of time and they text you when it's ready. I highly recommend staying at this hotel. 10/10

The staff is very kind and diligent, it made a good impression. I had a room with two queen beds (spacious) with a nice view of the pool area. The room and bathroom isn't the newest in aesthetic, but it got the job done. The main pain points for me was the room lighting (one side was significantly dimmer than the other with all lights on) and the bed blankets (it was oddly arranged and extremely uncomfortable). In short, I didn't have the best sleep. Parking is $7 - this was something I truly thought could have been free, as there were plenty of spaces available. Overall, the location is convenient and I'd consider staying here again.

We had to get ice to keep yogurt cold. Parking is $7 per night and it just seems like an unnecessary uncharge. Member perks were nice. We received two waters, $20 food credit and an additional hour to checkout. When we requested late checkout, it was initially denied and we were told housekeeping had 130 rooms to turnover so late checkout wasn't an option. He then asked how much time I needed and we said 1pm and that's when he said oh that's fine. The pool area and jacuzzi didn't look well kept. The food at the café was pretty good. We ordered French toast (10/10), breakfast burrito (a bit dry 7/10), breakfast bowl (8/10), yogurt, bagel, coffee cake. Prices were higher than expected but the credit helped.

I came across this hotel while searching online, and the oceanfront location immediately caught my attention -- something I always love. We decided to give it a try and compare it to our usual stay. We were assigned room 559, an oceanfront corner room, and the view was absolutely incredible. Honestly, I never wanted to leave the room. Every day for breakfast, we walked over to Piper at their sister property, Seabird Resort. One of the things I loved most about the location was how walkable everything was. Throughout the week, we were able to walk to several breweries and restaurants nearby. While valet parking is definitely pricey, we barely needed the car, which made it well worth it. Based on how much we enjoyed this stay, we're already coming back for my husband's 70th birthday during the first week of July. I'm so excited and really hoping we can get the same room again!

That is not the case here. The service overall was top notch. The hostess accommodated us despite being late for our reservation and we were able to grab a cozy table by the ocean. We really enjoyed Austin, our server, as well. I always forget how incredibly fresh the food is in California until I get here. Each dish we ordered was outstanding - unique preparation and great flavors. We loved the oysters, whipped feta, artichokes, and mushrooms. The Albariño was crisp and delicious as well. There's free parking here which is great compared to the other Marriott properties. There's breakfast from 6-9am. It's not the huge spread but it was what you would imagine with this level of hotel. The elevators are quick, so the highest floor is 4 and isn't annoying to get to. There's a basketball court and pretty nice size pool and jacuzzi if you are feeling recreational. The business center is there for free printing if needed. The rooms are a nice size and of course there's flatware and plates and pans for cooking if you need it. The only current knock that I have is the ac didn't get below 68. This is pretty common in San Diego hotels that the ac doesn't function properly. Pros: 1.located between 78 and 76 freeways and easy to get to most shopping areas. 2. Employee named, Victor, was very kind to bring to our room fresh sheets and extra towels when we requested He was friendly and courteous. 3. Generally speaking, front desk staff was kind. 4. Change was always available for the laundry. 5. Amenities: Pool and Jacuzzi. Fire pit, BBQ grill. Gym, laundry room. Tiny mini mart with alcohol and junk food for last minute grabs. 6. Continental breakfast everyday. As vegans, we enjoyed cereal (varies), oats (cooked in water) with a variety of toppings (brown sugar, nuts, coconut flakes, raisins, etc), potatoes, bagels, fresh fruit (usually bananas), orange juice, and coffee. Oat milk was available upon request (we knew to ask for it because the lady who checked us in said it was available). 7. Rooms had a kitchenette which included: electric mini stove with 2 burners (no oven), full size fridge, microwave, stove, single cup coffee pot, full size dishwasher. Also included pans, colander, mugs, cups, wine glasses, utensils, knives, cutting board, wine/bottle opener, bowls, plates, large cooking utensils, dish towels, dish soap, paper towels, and dishwasher pods. Cons: 1. Although I've always been excited for salsa nights,, the Junkyard Restaurant in the same shopping center was pretty rowdy on a Tuesday night and you could totally hear and feel the music, even over our sound machines. 2. The sofa bed sheets had not been changed since their last guest.l when we checked in. 3. I always had to request extra towels from the lobby because when we chose to have our room serviced, they took all the towels and did not replace the same number of towels. 4. The pans were scratched up badly. No way it's safe to cook in those pans unless you're wanting to eat Teflon and other leaching chemicals. 5. When I had questions about the waffles containing dairy or egg, the tall white man replied rudely. If I recall correctly he said, "of course it does, why wouldn't it.?!" His tone and manner of speaking took me by surprise since he appeared to be management. Another employee had said it was vegan but because I know better being vegan, I needed to confirm. My husband also asked him if they had a particular cereal my daughter had the previous day and he was also rude to my husband. This was on 2 separate days so it's fair to say this guy has a bad attitude and no empathy for others. This probably irked me the most out of my hotel experience. 6. Another guest before us stuck the wrong detergent in the washer and caused the foam to bubble out of the machine on our load. 7. No vegan options other than alcohol in the mini mart in the hotel. It would have been nice to have a few things without dairy, 8. Table was only big enough for 2. We had our kids eat at the desk. 9. Carpet is dirty- as in your feet and socks are black/brown after walking on the carpet. 10. Only no add Netflix accounts can take advantage of signing in to the Netflix account on the smart TV. Overall, I would probably stay here if I had to, but probably wouldn't be my first choice.
