Definitely not the Marriott experience that I have had around the country. I am a Bonvoy member. I booked a King Suite - ADA with Breakfast package. When we arrived I wanted to clarify that we had a King Suite - ADA and was told no. I was asked if I booked through Marriott or a 3rd party. I expressed it was through Marriott. It should have been obvious since they had my information and membership number. After standing there for over 5 minutes, assuming the women at the desk was new, a gentleman stepped in and said they had a queen suite which was pretty much the same and less expensive. The room is not the same. There was no kitchenette, nor a high back chair which was shown when I booked the room. The front room of the suite which includes a sofa bed has no air conditioning. With warm temperatures outside, not the best night of sleep. The room was clean, limited amenities, but that was the only positive. The next morning, I asked the front desk about the breakfast package and they directed to the Bistro. We ordered two breakfasts, a coffee and tea. Don't claim to be Starbucks, if you don't serve the same tea as all the other ones. The young lady in the Bistro was great. We ate our breakfast, which was ok, but no need to complain about it since it was included. Or so we thought. I received the bill the next day, still charged the same amount for a king suite, and I was charged for two breakfasts. I called the hotel and the gentleman I spoke to kindly removed the food charges. I mentioned I was still charged the same and was told the GM can give me more points. I'm not calling about getting points. When I asked why I didn't get the room I booked, I was told it depends on your tier with Bonvoy. First time I have ever been told that. Truly one of the worst experiences, all pointing to customer service. Look at the reviews. I wish I had before booking. read more

Had an early flight so stayed there on my last night in Santa Fe. Wonderful check in staff and comfortable large lobby. I was early and they got a room ready for me as I waited. The desk clerk made me very comfortable with waters and cookies and candies. Room was large and clean and well appointed. Very quiet. Had dinner in bistro and it was good. The server there was great, food came in good time and he kept checking to see if I needed things. Delightful spot to eat and read my book! read more

I canceled two rooms with this Courtyard location--one on August 18th and the other on August 24th. The reservation terms clearly stated that cancellations made by August 27th at 11:59 PM would not incur charges. Despite this, the hotel charged me for the stay on August 29th. I called the hotel immediately and was given the runaround. When I contacted Marriott, I was told the issue had to be resolved directly with the hotel. On Monday, I finally spoke with the manager, Andre. At first, he claimed it was Marriott's fault because they supposedly did not receive the cancellation information. He then changed his explanation, saying I was being charged due to a "special rate"--which is untrue, as I canceled the other room with the same rate on August 18th without issue. The attached screenshots clearly show the cancellation policy, allowing cancellations up to August 27th at 11:59 PM. Andre has provided inconsistent and misleading information, and I find his handling of this matter unacceptable. I had to escalate the issue to Marriott Corporate because I could not get a fair or honest resolution at the hotel level. If traveling to Santa Fe again, I would strongly consider staying elsewhere due to this experience. read more

Booked here from Hotwire. Was difficult to get into the parking lot as they were refinishing the driveway. Okay, thanks for updating that. However, with a handicapped person, it made it difficult to get into the hotel to register. It looks to me that Marriott ( courtyard) has recently taken this place over. There were signs that they were trying to refurbish the place. The whirlpools had yellow tape around them so they were supposedly "off limits". The breakfast was not included but they had a "grab and go" place which was not all that great. Expensive for what you got. I would look at someplace else as it was not up to what I thought a Courtyard should be. read more

We made a reservation and canceled within the prescribed time frame (which is in the fine print). When we called to dispute the cancellation charge, the manager was unbelievably rude and arrogant and refused to refund us and still charged us $126 as a cancellation fee. Outrageous! What a SCAM! This is a franchise and the Corporate office could not help us any way. DO NOT book here they will rip you off! There's a reason for the 3 star rating. We've been Marriott Bon Voy members for decades and have never had a problem until 2/12/26. read more

My family and I stayed at the Marriott last summer.  Our normal go-to brand is Hilton, but it was a busy weekend and we needed a suite room with two separate televisions.  I didn't have a lot of options.  We stayed for two nights and paid a total of about $600.  Granted, by Santa Fe summer prices, that was fairly inexpensive.  Still, I trusted the brand and figured the lower price reflected the out-of-downtown location.   The place had definitely seen better days.  The layout was nice and the kiva fireplace in the lobby was charming.  We sat and enjoyed the fire while having coffee there late one evening.  The staff was pleasant enough too.   One problem I had with our room was that the toilet lid fell off the first night.  So it couldn't be closed when flushing the toilet.  I called the front desk and they said someone would be up to fix it the next day.  I told them we had plans in the morning so to please send someone in the afternoon because I wanted to be in the room when the repair person came in.  That was ignored.  When we returned from our morning plans, the repair had been made.  Glad it was fixed. Not happy that we were gone at the time.   My biggest complaint about the room had to do with the televisions,  Both remotes had a big gap in their volume levels.  They went from level 9 to level 19 with nothing in between.  And as one might suspect, level 9 was not loud enough to hear and level 19 was too loud.  On our second night, I took both remotes to the front desk.  They claimed to be perplexed by the problem and gave me an extra remote they had in the drawer.  I took it back to the room and it had the exact same problem.  Sooooo annoying!  My family member who slept on the pull-out sofa in the living room is a college student.  I didn't want to cause a loud distraction in the adjacent room during study time!  One added thing...I was told that the sofa was not comfortable. Came a little bit earlier to check in so they didn't have the room type that we had booked which was okay. I was feeling sick so I just needed a hotel room. The room itself was great, very modern, and had all the amenities that you needed. I especially appreciated the microwave and refrigerator although I wish it also had a freezer in it as well. I do have a few complaints, unfortunately: - I think if I was choosing between the different Marriott hotels, I would pick Springhill Suites or Townplace Suites over this as they provide free breakfast and Courtyard does not. - The room's window couldn't open so our room was incredibly stuffy. Turning on the heater even for a little bit made the room very hot and had quite bad circulation. - The room was kind of far away from the elevator so it was a trek to get back to our room especially later at night when everyone was tired. I did appreciate that this location was very close to a lot of restaurants and shopping areas. You could even walk to Meow Wolf if you wanted to! read more

This hotel branded Courtyard by Marriott is located, fairly close to shopping restaurants and drivable to the plaza area for gallery walks in downtown Santa Fe. For the price point, the rooms, while clean and freshly painted are dark, and floor plan is outdated. Access to rooms is a little difficult as the floorplan is laid out to an interior open courtyard. Heating and air conditioning in the room is limited to a wall unit that is either on or off continuously. The door lacked trim insulation and light was visible to the outside corridor an alarm for freezing cold air to come into the room. We happen to arrive on an exceptionally cold day with snow, so moving within the hotel requires jacket, gloves, etc. I wouldn't even consider going to the pool which was in another building. Unlike the less expensive Fairfield Inn, the Courtyard did not offer any complementary breakfast. There is a bistro attached to the hotel with a Starbucks, but again requires you leaving the building where your room is to get to where the restaurant is located. Dedicated working pods are available in the lobby but considering that it's right next to the front door does not offer much privacy or quiet. There is a fitness center but you will need to bundle up to get to it as it is also located in a separate building. I'm sure that this location would be nice during warmer weather. We originally had planned to stay several nights, but given the items noted above, we are moving on. Recommend it if you need a quick stop for one night stay as I mentioned earlier it's clean but that's about it. This location fails to meet the Marriott brand that I know. I stayed here for 9 days for work. I have no co Plants. The rooms were newly renovated and the mattresses were brand new. The stay was amazing and I appreciate how Desiree, Pablo, and Chewy made me feel at home everyday. We slept and felt safe so it got the job done. But there were some hiccups. Upon arrival and check in, we had just completed a 3 hour hike at Picacho Peak and were excited about a shower and a nap before an event at Meow Wolf. EXCEPT...since earlier in the day, they hotel had no running water. They said it would be back on within the hour. That was not true. And so much for that shower...I believe that it was three hours before the water came back on (which also meant no free drinking water after that hike, let alone a shower...or both of us being able to normally use a restroom....). Once the water returned we had JUST enough time for one of us to get a quick shower before our event...because we also had to run the water for quite some time until it came out of taps looking...like water and not coffee. This isn't totally the hotel's fault, but it is just...it doesn't leave a good impression when you are in town with no other options for cleaning yourself, hydrating, and toilet-ing. We were given directions to our second floor room and the layout of the hotel is a little confusing. Not all second floors connect to all the other second floors. So we were directed where to park the car and to take specifically take a certain elevator. We welcomed the elevator because we were exhausted from that hike....and knew we weren't gonna get to shower for some time. But the elevator wasn't functioning. No sign, plenty of weird noises from it. Later that night, around 10pm, there had been the saddest, least official looking out of order sign placed on the elevator hallway. It took way too long to find the appropriate stairwell to find the second floor to access our particular building and room. Lemme tell you....we were NOT starting off on the right foot. Aside from all that, the room itself was ok. It had what we needed of basic amenities. There isn't much in the way of sound dampening between rooms and floors, it seems. It was not as quiet as I had hoped. I was ultimately grateful that we only had one night to stay here. read more

Place is nice on the outside. It's more of a motel than a hotel. Meaning, it's outside access to everything. On a cold 21 degree evening or morning, it's noticeable. The rooms are okay. They look to be updated and are clean. Just a very basic room with a small LCD. Noise level can be high as it's on the main road. I would highly recommend requesting a room to the farthest back you can go. Nowadays, with the wide mouth muffler frenzy, it can be excruciating at 2am. My first room assigned was too close to the road. I walked in and heard a fast 'n furious car go by and thought, "Oh hell no." Went back down and asked for something farther away. Gym is also basic. One bench, a set of dumbbells, and cardio. Yes, I had to get in a workout before that breakfast to feel like I earned it. No, I don't have a therapist - LOL. This is a no frills stay. But, the people are nice and the cleaning staff checked in twice with me this morning. So overall a good experience. But, it's very basic. read more

A Courtyard with a courtyard - what a concept! Not your typical hotel; the layout has a lot more personality than a generic rectangle. We got in late and left early, but from what I saw, the room was fine. The carpet felt slightly greasy under my bare feet; maybe that's inevitable after a certain amount of use. Typical Marriott Courtyard, comfy king room with a mini refrigerator, microwave and desk area. Rooms are a bit worn such as scuffs on the wall, bathroom and tub need a good scrubbing. Nice seating/gathering areas; one with a cozy fireplace and the other with a TV and large sofa/sectionals for hanging out with friends. Located only a few miles from downtown plaza. Lots of fast food joints around the hotel, but go to local restaurants because they are so much better. Staff are friendly and helpful. read more

Courtyard It took me a long time to get my status and nobody seems to acknowledge that any longer! That really does bum me out. I'm a Platinum Elite. I went to the bistro I said grab a beer and a salad and I met Cesar and Louise, Love them, so nice. Arianne and Betty were so sweat. I loved Betty, I bought her coffee and a fruit cup to start her day. I always make sure I tip the housekeeping to let them know that I appreciate them. The bed was better than the last Marriott hotel I stayed at. We liked the room although it did smell stale and almost like somebody had smoked cigars in here in the past. Heavy doors people love to slam! We woke up this morning to find out our boat trailer has been broken into and a bunch of our stuff was gone, including our toolbox which had our tire jack, tools , straps, etc. Arianne and Betty were very upset. This shouldn't happen in Santa Fe, but there is no rule of law! It's happening everywhere. I believe in God, I would never think of doing anything like that, I have morals. This morning I met Charlotte at the front desk, Jesse and Neris at the bistro, I couldn't be happier with the employees. Thank you for the breakfast, it eased the pain a bit. Charlotte, you became my favorite person at this hotel location, I should of hugged her before I left, lol. I still WOULD RECOMMEND. read more

Have stayed here several times and while the staff is great, location fine, the rooms themselves are lacking. All the rooms are dark, with no overhead lights or lights in the ceiling, only one over each nightstand and a small lamp on the desk. If you get a room with a sitting area, there is a lamp in each corner but it's still not enough. It does not feel welcoming at all. You can't really do any work or read. Also, unless your room is in the main building, 75% of the rooms you have to walk outside to get to. First and foremost I'd like to mention how run down the property is. I care more about the inside than the outside but both were bad. I also got a room with two "queens" but I have a queen at home and this was much smaller felt like a full size bed. But I'll be honest that's not what I hated most about this place.. The worst part was that they were doing construction at the hotel and it just so happen to be happening right outside my room! I could hear the jack hammering so well it was as if it was going on in the room. I checked in at 2am to get rest at this stop on my road trip, and rest was the furthest thing from what I got. The manager was not kind about the situation at all. She refused to do anything to help and simply said they had a sign posted about the construction. My reply was that the sign wasn't posted on the Marriott app when I made the reservation, and also the hotel owner should be less greedy and close down the rooms next to the jack hammering at least!! read more

Wish I had checked the Yelp reviews before booking. I fall right in there with the other one and two star reviews. As a Titanium Elite member, I have been to lots of Marriot properties. This is clearly near the bottom. A somewhat tattered note on the desk from Andre, the General Manager, advised that the hotel was looking for great reviews, nothing less than a 9, and that they wanted to do whatever necessary to meet guest expectations. From the six-day-old store-purchased cookies (label with bake date still attached to the plastic container) in the lobby to the indifference of the desk clerk when checking out, this wasn't a Courtyard experience I would wish on anyone. I followed up with an email to Andre, the General Manager, to express my disappointment, but now, a week later, still haven't received a reply. Definitely not one would expect when Andre's desktop letter specifically says "Our goal is to make sure every guest leaves feeling completely satisfied with your stay." Andre not reachable by phone today. Avoid this Courtyard. Rooms might have been redone, but place in general is "long of tooth". Fairfield down the street might be a better choice if you wish to stay with Marriott. read more

When we got in, it took a while to get a room. When we did, we walked in to a maintenances person already in the room. The hotel gave us another room. In the morning we woke up to bedbugs in one of the beds! It was gross and we immediately got out. We got moved to a different hotel but thankfully no bedbugs found! The pool at the first hotel was cold and one of the hot tubs was closed but nothing looked off about. It was a long walk from or room to the lobby. read more

We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott in Santa Fe, NM last week and are pretty disappointed with the hotel and lack of response from their management. My kids used the pool and hot tub during our stay and broke out with a rash all over their torsos and necks. I called the hotel to report it before we left and was told my kids probably just have sensitive skin, but she'd let the manager know. When we got home the rashes were worse and my children were also complaining of ear aches so we saw a doctor and were diagnosed with hot tub folliculitis and ear infections. They're on oral antibiotics for ten days and ear drops for 7. Hot tub folliculitis is caused by a bacteria in the hot tub which gets into skin follicles and causes a bacterial infection. It subsequently caused ear infections, I called the hotel to let them know because I didn't want other people having the same issue and I was hung up on when waiting for a manager. I called back, and they said the manager was busy but they would have him call me back. Two days passed and I hadn't heard anything so I called them back AGAIN to let them know of the water issues because I didn't want other people getting sick. This time I spoke to a manager, Andre (claimed to be the general manager) who was completely unapologetic and said they would check the water and call me back. That was a week ago and I've still not received a call back. I also submitted a formal complaint via Marriott, who said they forwarded the concerns to the Courtyard who clearly don't care. I'm not asking for anything from the Marriott except to be acknowledged and have them correct the water problem so others don't get sick, but they clearly don't care at all about my concerns or my children's illness nor do they care about other people getting sick. Fair warning, if you stay at this hotel don't use the pool/hot tub. read more

I stay here pretty often and it does the job. Renovated rooms, semi renovated bathrooms. For members with status they give you free breakfast burrito every day and it is pretty good and worth grabbing. Definitely does the job and for a courtyard not bad at all. Horrible customer service! Stayed here for a few days in July. Wanted to leave a postcard with front desk to mail. Employee was stymied by the request. Ultimately I said, "Skip it," and I found a mailbox. Used the guest laundry, quarters jammed in the dryer. Two loads of wet clothes, one combo dryer now neither were accessible. Went to the front desk. Woman said she would call maintenance. Man came out of back office and said, "They're not our machines." WTF? Maintenance guy showed up and I explained problem. I could see the quarters in the slot. Basically needed a screw driver which I didn't happen to have in my purse. He did get them out. Lastly, a LARGE dog left a dump in the little courtyard. I kindly told the night guy about it. He apologized and wrote stuff down and said he'd have it taken care of. Next morning, poop still there. Same employee, told him again. Later, next shift. Guy who said , "not our machines," on duty. Told him and woman at front desk about the crap that was still there and by now I'm irritated. He said, "You didn't tell us before." Again, WTF??? I said in so many words that this is now my third time telling the staff. Also, I took a picture and showed them exact location. Went to dinner. Came back and now FOURTH time. 10p. Poop still there. Grabbed a poopy bag from the dog station. Went to front desk. Same two as last two reports doing NOTHING. Threw the poopie bag onto the counter and said, "Pick up the ____!" And walked away. The Courtyard Santa Fe hotel will deceptively bait and switch your rate during an extended stay. I reserved a room at $189 per night for 12-nights. However, without notice room rates balloned to as high as $304.00 creating an average daily cost of $265 per night. This hotel at best is a decent facility, but offers nothing to be worth $265.00 per night. When brought to the attention of management, I was told there was nothing they could do, which was / is BS. By the way, I am a lifetime Marriott elite and was in Santa Fe on official business assisting with a wildfire fighting mission. read more

We only stay at Marriots and we travel quite a bit. I hate to leave this review but it was not a pleasant stay. The staff had nothing to do with our bad experience. They were available, helpful, kind and professional. They were the only bright side. The hotel has seen better days. It needs some serious TLC. The worst part is the neighborhood. It is not safe. We walked a block to dinner at an amazing restaurant but did not feel safe. While at the hotel our vehicle was vandalized and two bikes stolen. Locks cut straight through. Not the first rodeo for these thieves. I do have to give the Santa Fe police officers a 5 star. They were kind. read more

Great location. Hallways open to the courtyard, which is very nice. Super enjoyable to sit in the sunny courtyard and drink my tea in the morning. Room was very clean, hallways clean, parking lot a little messy. This hotel is very big and we hung the "do not disturb" sign for our entire stay, so we didn't really run into any staff to interact with except for the front desk people during check in. They were very friendly. I did attempt to get an early Check in, but they were not able to do that. Understandable because Check out is at 12 pm . They are doing renovations, so there were painters in the hallways, but because of the open hallways, the paint smell wasn't bad. I would stay here again on another trip to Santa Fe. The bad yelp reviews are very confusing because it really is a great hotel. read more

So the difference between view and no view at the Sante Fe Courtyard is no wall or wall. My husband, who is pretty chill, just wanted to stay and not move again. We ended up coming here after our other hotel was terrible. Pablo the front desk person was amazing and upgraded us to a better room. It was clean, the hot tub and pool were great, and they even left treats out for those staying. Only negative is that there were a lot of homeless people around the area hanging around the building, and kind of sketchy leaving your car there after reading other reviews of peoples cars being broken into but we had no issues. Easily the worst Marriott property I have ever stayed. Needs to be renovated in many way. Poor customer service. TV had "no signal" for three days. Was told multiple times to turn it off and let it reset. Do not recommend. read more

Check the other feedback before you say this one is crazy. I am not the only one to state the same facts that this property is worthy of the name or branding. The front desk clerks (most of them) have an attitude problem and only like to help Ambassador level customers. While staying at the location, there was no room services until the last day when they decided to leave 10 towels and clean the room. No funny having a stinky room for three days and no clean towels. The deposit was taken the front desk clerk cant even add, she claimed $26 per day but we got charged $60, that is $20 per day and she would continue to argue. If you can not add, don't add, just say it is for incidentals. The hotel van parks in front of the hotel blocking the handicap parking, there are other spaces to park in to make it easier for a disability person to park. See the photos posted. The bathrooms are really small, the door opens inward and blocks the toilet and shower. You have to go into. the room, close the door to use the room. Getting out of the tub/shower has very limited space to step down from making it difficult to get out of the shower. The so called night stands are so small that once you put your tablet down there is hardly any room for anything else to go there. The doors are not sealed very well and you can see the light through them, get cold air and hear the noise of others traveling down the corridor. Seriously what does it take to simply put a seal on an old door or just simply replace it with a properly working door? Then the manager refused to address the issue claiming he reviewed the video and found the customer at fault, lol, instead of trying to correct the matter. When asked for a 1st floor room for accommodation for disability they gave us a higher floor instead. But when an Ambassador member asked for a specific room it was ok to move other guests not checked in to arrange rooms for him. Thats a bit prejudice, it is ok to get more perks but ADA has laws to follow to accommodate the disabled person. This location has over 600 reviews and several hundred speak of these issues. I would not recommend this location or any of the companies locations there are. plenty of other hotels. in Santa Fe that are much better, pricing is lower and high there is nothing special about the pricing at this. location. This is not a good hotel in every respect, but in a pinch it will do. If you are in Santa Fe with your family (children, dogs, etc.) this might be your best bet. GOOD: This hotel has some old Santa Fe charm, and with some updates it could really shine. I like the layout with courtyards, the oldstyle wooden southwest revival doors to each room, and the basic amenities. There's a pool, and plenty of outside seating in the courtyards to relax. This hotel property is also easy for parking, and the location on the main road into town is convenient if you are on the go. Dog friendly, too. Service was some of the friendliest I've ever experienced in a Marriott hotel. MEH: This hotel is very badly overdue for a refresh, and it pains me to see a charming concept property fall into mediocrity. Once you open the cool wooden door to your room, you are likely to be greeted with a very depressing space. Our room had almost no natural light and lots of empty dark corners. The mattress was as hard as a rock, and the pillows were especially lumpy. The bathroom, carpet, fixtures, and furniture all are painfully in need of upgrade. I strongly suspect the ownership of this hotel property has gotten spoiled by the ever increasing tourist traffic to Santa Fe. Room rates have skyrocketed here from around $160/night to $283/night or more! And even at these rising room prices this tired hotel is still nearly always booked up. For just a little more money, you could stay at a much fancier lodging closer to the Plaza (if you can find an opening -- book ahead). Until this hotel remodels to be worthy of their high price point, not worth it to stay here unless you have to. read more
