We stayed at the courtyard Northgate while a relative was in the hospital. The staff were absolutely amazing. We kept having to adjust our dates and add rooms and they took care of us and even gave us a hospital discount. They were always asking how things were going. Pros: - The room is clean and modern. - There is a microwave in the room. - Good water pressure in the shower. - The bed is comfortable. - The gym has a variety of workout equipment. Cons: - They do not provide water bottles in the room. They do provide iced water in the lobby but it tastes like chlorine. There is also a water dispenser in the gym. - The rooms do not include robes, slippers or lotion. - There isn't a fan in the washroom. - A/C is loud. - The elevator is very slow. - Parking is $21/night. It's strange that they charge for parking in this area. - Thin walls, I could hear neighbouring rooms slamming their doors and I could hear the guests upstairs talking. - The hair dryer didn't work, so I had to call the front desk and wait for housekeeping to bring me a new one. read more

Picked the Courtyard Seattle Northgate for my one night stay as I had things to do in the area and I didn't want to pay the obscene parking prices in downtown Seattle. Per my Marriott status, my complimentary upgrade request to a one bedroom suite was granted. I actually liked this room a lot, as the decor was definitely better than your usual Courtyard. The living room area was spacious, kinda wish I had more time to advantage of it. Bedroom was fine, comfortable bed as expected. And the bathroom area was quite spectacular. I've stayed at better Marriott brands and sometimes the bathroom isn't as nice as this. The one thing I need to point out, which significantly detracted from my experience, is the poor sound insulation. My room was facing Northgate Way, and I could hear every damn car that came across that road. It was pretty awful and affected my sleep. Had I stayed longer than one night, I would have asked for a different room. It was that bad. I have no idea how this was not addressed in the design and construction of this hotel. The good thing about this location is that it's off the freeway. But honestly, unless you have specific business to attend to in Northgate, there's not much here at all. Parking is $21/night and is in an underground lot, which might I add is extremely tiny. Some of these parking spots were simply unusable. I wasn't about to risk damaging my rental car trying to fit into these spots. I ended up making a call and just parked in the one hour only spots reserved for people checking in. This brings me to the service. I appreciate them listening to my concerns and finally waiving the parking fee for having to deal with the street noise. However, I still haven't received the 5,000 points they also promised me for having to deal with it. Really wanted to like this hotel, but I will not be coming back. read more

The worst motel I have ever been to. The room was loud from the street traffic. I got no sleep. The food was sub par, everything we ordered was either cold or tasted terrible. the alcohol was sooo over priced. But most importantly I'm pretty sure there are prostitutes that work out of this hotel. I travel all over the west coast for work and I will never ever stay at this establishment again. If you want to sleep, go somewhere else! It must be right be a police or ambulance company...because they GO LOUD ALL NIGHT. Expect to pay ridiculous amounts for a drink. I had a "baileys" (double) - I watched as she filled the shot glass 1/2 way - each pour and it was $17.50. Food expensive, eat somewhere else; $5 basic coffee; expensive (tiny) rooms, shower leaks all over the bathroom floor, they don't clean your room everyday or replace towels or coffee...they are totally trying to get every dime out of you. Wasn't a fan of this hotel. The room itself the was nice and cozy. I liked how the bathroom wasn't super tiny like some hotels. Those were the few characteristics about the room and the hotel I liked. Our room was on the first floor (lobby is on the second) and there was a sidewalk right outside our window. It made me a bit uncomfortable and paranoid. The walls are also extremely thin. I could hear the person in the next room over watching a soccer game. Also, the location of the hotel itself wasn't favorable. It's right next to a gas station, and unfortunately, when returning to the hotel one of our last nights, there was a homeless man standing in front of the entrance to the garage trying to expose himself. We had to use two different elevators to get from the garage to our room and vise versa. Additionally, they tried to charge me for parking when it was already included in the hotel package I reserved. We chose this hotel because it was cheaper than most other hotels in the city due to the summer price spike, but I'd rather pay more for peace of mind. This was not the hotel for me. read more

Location: seems decent in that you can get everywhere you want to visit in a timely manner. It is pretty far away from the airport; it cost $70 via taxi. I think them adding a shuttle service from the airport would be an amazing amenity. There were quite a few transient people around so our plans to walk a lot of places were curbed by that. Check- in: went smoothly and quickly. Although this is where the poor customer service first reared it's ugly head: we were told that we were on the first floor and to take the elevator. We were NOT told that we were actually on the second floor and that there were rooms below the entrance/lobby and we were also not told that there was more than one elevator and they didn't all go to guest rooms. There were also no signs indicating these things. Needless to say, it took us about 10 additional minutes to get to our room. Staffing: I called the hotel to reach the other people in our party, and the phone was not answered by the front desk staff. Accommodations: the room was fairly clean. There were water stains or something on the sheets and I had to replace stained towels twice. The beds were not very comfortable and the pillows were flat. The door to the bathroom kept closing on its own (super annoying) and there was no bathroom vent which created a musty smell. Acoustics: I never imagined I would have this category for a hotel review, but this is the loudest hotel I have ever stayed at (and I have stayed at many, including Las Vegas.!). You could hear EVERYTHING: the street noise, buses, sirens, the TV next-door, the toilet flushing above you and next door, the shower doors closing, ironing boards opening and closing, the housecleaning staff in other rooms, the room doors closing, and your neighbors laughing. This is definitely NOT the place to stay when you need to rest. It was so bad that we had a neighbor knock on our door and complain that we were too loud. This brings me to our next example of horrible customer service. The neighbor banged on our door at 11pm and proceeded to yell at me and curse at me. I told her this was no way to address the issue or me and then after I closed the door, I contacted the front desk staff. I explained what had just happened and the front desk clerk said he would make a note for the manager. The manager, Philip, left a message for me the following day and asked me to contact him at the front desk. When I talked to Philip, he was extremely dismissive of my feelings about the incident and the way that I was approached by the other hotel guest. He instead focused on the fact that he had spoke to the other hotel guest involved and confirmed the event details (as if my report and complaint wasn't enough) and then said that the guest had checked out so I shouldn't have any more issues. He also stated that the "proper" way to handle the situation was to contact the hotel front desk because they have a security staff to handle it. I am not sure if the situation would be different had the other hotel guest not been a white woman or had I not been a black woman, BUT not one apology was issued nor any type of compassion or understanding for how I was addressed. Additionally, I felt I was being corrected during my conversation with the manager, when in fact, I am the one who did not engage with the other hotel guest nor did I disrespect her even after she cursed at me and I did in fact call the front desk staff to report the incident (which was SUPPOSEDLY part of their process) and no security was called nor was there any mention or offer if I needed security. I don't know if Philip lied about the process or about security being available but the situation was mishandled and Philip was very unprofessional and demonstrated bias. I will not return to this hotel ever or recommend it for this reason alone! Amenities: The cafe was closed due to someone being sick. The fact that an entire restaurant closes behind one employee is poor planning and staffing. Cleanliness: We did homework downstairs in the cafe lounge seating area. The tables were filthy. The carpets were covered in food, and the remotes had built up dirt and sticky stuff on them. Maintenance: The outside patio is a missed opportunity. It could be great but it is unkept. Nothing was trimmed and plants were dead. There was a suspicious hole in our ceiling. It looked like a sprinkler was not installed properly. Our last encounter with poor customer service was at check out when we were leaving our bags at the desk to pick up for a later flight. Raoul helped us and was clearly irritated about the number of bags we were leaving. I don't know where this staff received their customer service training, but to have encountered such poor customer service with multiple staff members is not what I expect from Marriott! Ok location if you are going to UW on this side. Nice clean rooms and hotel. The staff are also nice and friendly. The parking garage can be entered by anyone. No card required. This is a concern with all the theft in Seattle You also have to pay for coffee in the lobby. I have never seen this. We have stayed in Sedona, Banff, all over. read more

The front desk folks were great! The nearby Starbucks had wrong hours listed on their website and I walked over to get some brew at 5A. They wouldn't serve me but the front desk staff at the Marriott took pity on this jet-lagged traveler and provided tea and coffee, two mornings in a row! Parking is easy, convenient access to I-5. My family of 5 came to Seatle for the Memorial holiday weekend (2023) and had a great stay. The hotel room is spacious and the bathroom is nice size also. The water pressure and temperature (gets very hot) is the way I like it. The bedding is clean and luxurious. The room had all the amenities you would expect: Iron & ironing board, hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, fridge, microwave and 2 large tv mounted with swivel TV mount. The secure garage is adequate size for a minivan to maneuver around. We got to hotel at 10 am and the room was not ready yet so they held our luggages for us while we explored the city. When we arrived to our check in time the luggages were placed in our room already. The hotel location is conveniently located near the highway and restaurants. As with all of Seattle (I noticed quite a lot of homeless tents) there are a few homeless individuals lurking around the hotel. Overall, we had a great stay at this Marriott location. I would not hesitate to return again. read more

The service here was top tier. Shortly after we checked in our room, we noticed the bathroom sink wasn't draining. The maintenance man, Dana, came up shortly after to fix the sink. Samantha is an angel. She worked at the front desk and also at the bar (made me an AMAZING cocktail). There was limited staff but she was killing it, handling a lot of things all by herself. Phillip, the manager was pleasant as well. Maury at the front desk was very welcoming. The housecleaning staff were so sweet and nice. I had to call to ask if pet friendly for a 10 pound dog who wears a dog diaper when he goes to motels. He also has a bark vibrate only collar just to make sure he doesn't disturb anyone. I was told they are not pet friendly. read more

My son and I came up to Seattle for some business and booked our stay here, not sure if the location was conducive to what we needed. Turns out it is a nicely centered location for our needs. Price was good and accommodations were what we've come to expect with the Marriott Brand. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. In fact, the entire hotel was exceptionally clean and well appointed. Staff was cordial and accommodating but not intrusive. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to others ! read more

So overall this is a nice hotel. It is well kept, in good repair and clean. The linens and towels are good quality. (No thin rough towels here) Their TVs offer cable and free MAX and you can log into Netflix if you have an account. They have a small "Bistro" with breakfast options and stuff for dinner. The staff is attentive. It is a short walk to a 7/11, Starbucks, McDonald's and an amazing Mexican food truck. One star off because in room 146 (our room) you hear the water drain through the wall. And not like you have to listen for it. Like you have to turn the TV up to drown it out. I don't believe any manager or corporate executive of the brand has been in this room because I would like to believe if they had they would figure out a way to fix it or not book this room. Did we complain , no because we sleep with a white noise machine and we were in desperate need to drop our stuff and get food the first night we were here. STAY AWAY. I SPENT almost 300 a night for a hotel that has no pool, small expensive restruant, (not even free continental breakfast.) for the amount you pay for a night. The food is expensive. They have a nice big fire pit, but during the summer nights when it's 59 or 60 degree F. They TURN it off???? There was absolutely nothing to do at the hotel. The front desk wouldn't take my cash at the front desk to pay for some snacks. I couldn't believe it. The Price i paid for is completely Shocking/ Horrible in a hotel industry with all the amenities they serve. I will never go back to this hotel. read more

It's truly unfortunate that this hotel somehow managed to gain a 4-star review already when it clearly is no where even remotely close to being worthy of a 4-star. More like a 1-star, or negative stars if there was such a thing. Let me tell you why: The air conditioning sounds like a pulsating fog horn that blares all night. The fridge is more like an Igloo Lunchbox that needs to be turned on every 2 hours. (No seriously, you have to turn it on every 2 hours.) The shower, although very modern looking, does not have a door so water spills out onto the floor and makes a gigantic puddle. It also has a long metal plate that is, again, a very modern looking drain. As sleek as it looks, the sound of water falling on top of the metal plate sounds like its raining on pots and pans the whole time you shower. Clearly didn't think that one through. In preparing for the next day, I went and talked to the receptionist to see where I would be able to find coffee in the morning. They told me it would be available in the lobby and asked me what time I would need it to be ready. I gave them a time to which they responded with, "I will make sure it is ready before that time". Comforting, made me feel like they were on top of things and generally cared about my stay. The next morning, went down at the discussed hour, not only was coffee NOT ready, but the receptionist that was available had no idea that it was supposed to be ready nor did it look like he knew how to brew coffee. Unfortunately I didn't have time to wait for him to figure it out, so I skipped coffee that morning. As the previous review mentioned, the parking garage is very, very tight. What the previous review did NOT mention (and neither did the hotel) is that you have to pay $16 per day per vehicle in their parking garage. End-all-be-all, the cost of it all ended up being 1.5x what I was lead to believe it would be. What is most unfortunate about the whole experience is that the guest I was staying with wanted to stay at Hotel Nexus a block away and I persuaded them to staying at Courtyard by Marriott. This was a mistake that I will truly never make again. read more

Recently stayed at the Courtyard in Northgate, and wish I could give them 6 stars! The property was fresh, modern, and well maintained and, unlike some other Courtyards, features a fantastic bar / restaurant area serving meals and drinks throughout the day. Parking was also easy (secure underground garage), and the location is super convenient to shopping and restaurants. Above all, props to Samantha and her team for making my stay so awesome! This team really takes personal service very seriously, and they will go above and beyond to reach out / assist you to make your stay a perfect one. Great new hotel in Northgate Seattle. Close to the mall that is getting a full remodel and near the railway. The hotel has 5 level with conference rooms, huge lobby, fitness room and small market. The staff is friendly and always willing to help. I would give 5 stars but there are still a few things missing. My room was not complete with coffee cups and had to ask for some but ok no problem. My only issue was the coffee pot had old coffee filter and smelled bad. Also the parking is good with charging stations but I would not recommend big cars, SUV or trucks. Pretty tight!!! Last there is no pool or spa. As for the room, I was extremely comfortable, relaxed and had two 60 inch TVs I believe. You have a fridge and microwave also. Beds are nice and plush and sheets are soft. Over all I would stay here again!!! read more

The only good parts: Clean, convenient location. The rest of our experience: Unfriendly or rude staff that were either tolerant or condescending. No guest should be made to feel like they're an inconvenience. Modern style but cheap or unattractive décor, our ADA bathroom had the oversized door slamming into the person seated at the toilet, the built-in USB charging station was not even connected to power! The driveway and parking garage were almost impossible for our truck to navigate and our window view was garbage cans, dead landscaping and graffiti. For being a decently priced but far from discount hotel, I would have expected more from the staff, grounds, and planning. Overall mediocre to disappointing experience from a well known chain. We will look elsewhere on our next visit. read more

My mom and I stayed in a suite while in town visiting family for a short weekend. Per the typical Courtyard experience, the hotel was very clean and modern. Our suite was actually quite spacious, which was really nice! The price was right too -- coming in at only $225 for a 2 night stay. The only thing that put a bit of a damper on our experience was that there was no coffee or breakfast available on Saturday morning because "their cook called in". We didn't find out until we went downstairs to order that morning, so there was no time for us to make other arrangements (we were on a schedule to meet family that morning). We had to rush out with no coffee or breakfast, which just stinks. I was confused as to why they didn't have a backup person that could come in for the cook that called off? Just felt a little lazy on their part. Other than that small hiccup though, all was well and we would certainly stay again next time we're in town. read more

This may have been the best night I have ever spent in a hotel. It's new, the staff is young, there were glitches...but oh, enthusiasm and friendliness of the staff was so infectious it brought a smile to my face even after a long day of driving (checked in 6/14, checked out 6/15)...the food was wonderful as was the restaurant staff (we were their first customers after opening due to covid...Dexter...did you find the napkins? ...and I LOVED the shower! It may be just me, but the way the drainage is is there is a metal plate at the end of the tub under the shower head and it had the coolest drum beat that I couldn't stop dancing to. A few minor issues- shampoo and soap in shower dispensers were not refilled by housekeeping. Rooms that face road can be noisy from traffic, and hotel front desk staff would not give me a complimentary bottle of water, their reason was "my account didn't meet requirements for it". Terrible thing to hassle a customer over a bottle of water. Many Marriott hotels have given me bottled water without questioning my status. Overall a very good stay. read more

if you have a service dog, don't go here. the staff will do anything in their power to get you kicked out. took our 2 year old fully task trained dog with us and they kept saying she is a puppy and can't be a service dog. kept blocking me from going to my room with her after every time I took her outside to go to the bathroom. told them multiple times that she was my daughters service dog, trained to pull her wheelchair, open doors, alert to seizures and help balance, they called our health insurance broker and said we didn't ever take her potty, tried saying a puppy is a service dog and that I'm obviously lying about her training because they don't see a wheelchair, while my daughter is sleeping off a seizure in the room when I take the dog pee. several other people have mentioned this same issue with them rejecting service dogs and staff don't know ADA laws, saying dogs need to be professionally trained by a cert service dog trainer and needs papers which isn't needed and against ADA laws. read more
