Just so y'all don't waste your time & money Motel 6 is a PET FRIENDLY hotel. We stayed bc we were working open-close the past 3 nights and it was so much easier to get to work and to sleep instead of driving 30+ minutes to and from home. So of course, we had Lucy. We were told a $50 cash deposit. No problem. Checking out this morning, we were told we would not get our deposit back for PET HAIR in a pet friendly hotel. He told my husband "I can't wash the sheet because of the pet hair." So my husband grabbed the $50 sheet and said okay. The front desk man said "I'm going to call the law are you crazy you can't take that!" And THEN said "I know where you work. I'll find you there." Upon reading other reviews, I seen that they were charging people $20, $40, $50, $100 deposits. So what I'm gathering is, they'll charge you a made up deposit amount and then reach for some kind of excuse to keep that deposit. One said, "I didn't get my deposit back because of make up on a face towel." I know $50 isn't a lot of money, but it's still $50. Pet hair in a pet friendly motel. Who woulda thought? read more

The stay at this Motel 6 was very nice. The property was very clean and well maintained. The owner was very hands on, and truly cares about his business and the comfort of his customers. We were made to feel welcome and appreciated. The price was great, and the room surpassed the price! I would definitely stay here again! read more

I was passing through Somerset this weekend and i stayed here for two nights Great friendly staff clean rooms decent parking And it's close to everything you may need to visit such as food spots , atms , car washes, stores , etc. Also it's only 20 min away from Cumberland falls I highly recommend this hotel and will be staying here again next time i pass read more

we stayed here 3 nights, it's an older motel but it's been remodeled, we rented room 117 with two beds, everything was very clean, all hardwood floors. plenty of parking even boat and trailer. it's convenient to everything, walmart, convenient stores and Fast food all down the road. read more

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. We got a room the night before the solar eclipse. The lady checking is in was not so friendly and the room was disgusting. They apparently have some kind of a strict no refund policy. What that means is that if you check in and walk into your room and the floor is sticky, the air stinks, and the sheets have cigarette burns and feel nasty, you can't change your mind about staying. I mean, you can change your mind, but it's not going to help your bank account. $109 for 5 minutes of filth. I will never stay in any Motel 6 again because of this experience. We went to the Red Roof Inn right down the road from there. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. I hope this review saves someone else from having to pay for multiple motels in one night like we had to. After 10 days, Orbitz has been unable to get anything done in regards to a refund so I decided to call the motel manager. I told him who I was and what I wanted. He began to yell into the phone about how he has cameras and he can do what he wants (I don't understand what this had to do with anything) and then he hung up on me. I called back several times trying to get him to listen to me, he yelled and hung up each time. The last time I called he listened and told me that the film on the floor is caused whenever the weather is overcast or humid. He told me the room has high end finishings and wood floors, what more could I want? I guess cleaniness is too much to ask. He then began to tell me he had me on camera telling the Indian woman at the front desk that the room was perfectly clean and everything was fine but I just didn't want to stay there. Who says something like this? If he's got anything on camera it's her telling us we would be refunded. After all was said and done he threatened to call the police to have me arrested if I called back and hung up on me again. I contacted corporate. Hopefully they can remedy this situation. If you're reading this review, Motel 6 may be a decent company, but this is not a decent place to stay. Avoid it. It's obviously run by people who would rather scam and cheat you out of your money than run a proper business. read more

Husband and I stopped to get a room for the night on our way home from vacation. Room was very clean and you can tell it was recently redone. No carpet in the room, hardwood floors only. It was nice to not have to worry what sort of grossness was in the carpet! Staff was kind of rude at check in. We asked for a non- smoking room, and staff asked a few more times if we wanted smoking or non. I commented to my husband that it probably did not matter if what kind of room we got because neither of us smoke. The attendant took this comment very seriously and proceeded to interrogate me as to whether we were going to smoke in the non-smoking room. read more

So I wanted a last minute room during mustang weekend and almost everyone was booked, I called them and their night guy said they had a room for 64$ and I was like sure. Once I got there he said the room is 79.95$. He said because of tax and there's also an additional 20 dollar deposit. I thought okay this all makes sense. I paid in cash being the first time I've ever showed up to a motel and he gave me my key card. After I had slept and woke up. I went to checkout and there was a lady and I asked about when I get back my 20$ and she said if there was a deposit it would've been written on the card. She asked who I talked to and as she spoke he came from around their office with the money I paid last night and said there's only 80$ here. Both of them started yelling at me and talking really fast and I'm look at them in slight disbelief and tell them if they wanted my 20$ they could've asked. Lucky I'm not tight on money but considering the type of motel, most everyone there was low budget and I'd hate to see someone get stranded because they took their gas money. I checked in around 3 am just wanting a clean place to sleep. After waiting a few minutes in the unattended lobby I was met by a disheveled looking man obviously just waking up. When I asked for a room for one, his first response was "you check out in the morning". Very unwelcoming. Then he charged me a $3 deposit for the room key which I've never experienced at any hotel. When I did return it in the morning a 10 year or so old child gave me my deposit after literally running outside to ask the manager, I assume his father, what to do. The room seemed clean enough and recently renovated but only to minimal standards. Just not the welcoming "we'll leave the light on for ya" atmosphere I hoped for and professionalism was nowhere to be found. Personally those things speak for the things I can't see or know about a place I've never stayed. I won't be back. read more

This independent owner of Motel 6 Somerset KY has me hot under the collar. He has charged me for 2 nights when I only stayed one. I checked in at 1230 hrs on Fri, 18 May 2018 and left at 1020 hrs on the next day, Sat, 19 May 2018. I contacted Motel 6 Somerset KY and asked for a refund for the second nights erroneous charge but I was told "No, you stay 2 nights, 18 and 19, I have proof." BS. He was mad because i gave the following review on TripAdvisor which was not a fake one glowing with positive feedback. I have contacted Motel 6 Corporate and my credit card company in an attempt to get the 2nd nights charge returned. We shall see. Please, stay away from this Motel 6 Somerset or risk the same thing happening to you. Awful experience. My original TripAdvisor review: Place sits a bit off the side of the highway but is easy to get to off of Highway 27. Check in was flexible but to check at you just drop your door key off and go, not really something I like to do as I like to see my final bill. Room was clean and sparsely furnished which I liked. No pictures and the laminate floor instead of carpet was a plus in my opinion. A/C and heat worked good. Bed was comfortable but I didn't like the bedspread cause it felt too much like a vinyl shower curtain. Asked for another blanket instead and was at first told "No, turn down your air conditioner if you are cold it's summer and no extra blankets" but soon there was a knock at my door and he said, "I was able to find one." Apparently housekeeping is every other day and I only had one bath towel-not good. Speaking of bath, the shower tub has no slip safe strips and no grab bars so it is not handicap friendly, and I was supposed to be in an ADA room. Overall I would recommend this motel for those on a budget. read more

This is our second stay and we love it. They are dog friendly both large and small and the housekeeping service is outstanding. I am so impressed with how clean and well maintained the entire property is kept. Rooms are very clean which is very hard to find these days. Management is hands on, friendly and very helpful. Considering the price, a very adequate option for a short-term/overnight stay, I think it's one of the cheapest in Somerset. The hotel isn't much to look at, pretty basic looking, off the main drag in town so not really in a "good" or "bad" neighborhood, so to speak. I checked in close to 2 AM and was greeted almost immediately by a very helpful (albeit tired-looking) man who got me squared away with a room nice and fast. I requested a non-smoking room, but I feel like that option is typically moot point when it comes to low-budget hotels like these, especially in a small town like Somerset. So yeah, apart from the smell of smoke (which I got used to, it wasn't too bad) the room was very clean, nice hardwood floors, clean bathrooms. Parking lot outside was pretty loud the next morning, but was quiet through the night. Pretty much the bare minimum you would expect from a cheap hotel. If you are in town just overnight I'd say go for it, all things considered it's a very reasonable option. read more

This is the 2nd time I stayed here. I liked the way the room was laid out, clean,fresh smelling. The only problem I had that visit was the guy at the counter thought I was trying to pull something over on him or something. I needed 20 minutes to pick up some cash at WalMart to pay for a second day. Well he wanted no part of that. Okay, I get it, a lot of people do shady things. I gave him no reason to believe that. Okay fast forward a week, I'm here again because my step daughter gave birth and we wanted to be here. So I decided to give motel six another try. As soon as I walked into the door I got attitude. I took it in stride and with a smile because my grandson Elijah was just born. Well later on in the evening I needed to get some work done and needed Wi-Fi. It was 1am. So, I called the office and ask them to check and/or fix it. The employee says that it is too late for me to be working and he would not be looking at the Wi-Fi tonight period. Very rudely I might add. So I'm done. Tomorrow morning I'm taking to whoever is in charge and demanding a refund. read more
