The loft features high ceilings and my wife compared it to staying in a treehouse. The room was immaculate and had several amenities, like a coffee pot and a microwave, so one could enjoy breakfast in-house if that was in your plans. There's also an adorable breakfast nook under a window looking out over the trees. Yellow Springs, Ohio is certainly my kind of quirky and lived up to expectations. From Jailhouse, it's a short walk, say five minutes, down to the heart of the town, and the famed Little Miami trail. This is a perfect location for those hoping to enjoy what the town has to offer. When I asked for an itemized receipt at checkout, I was told my balance was $0 and therefore no receipt could be issued. This means there is no documentation that the cash payment was ever made. Requiring cash-only payments and not providing receipts raises serious concerns about transparency and proper business practices. I attempted to resolve this with Choice Hotels customer service, but unfortunately it did not lead to a resolution. Customers should always receive documentation for any payment made.

Our room faced the pool atrium and the lights coming in from that area all night kept the room very bright, disturbing our sleep. When you check out, they don't keep track. You just throw your key card in a basket at the front desk. As a result, the cleaning staff have no idea if you checked out or not which is why at 9:30AM (check-out is at 11AM) housekeeping tried to enter our room while we were still here. Fortunately we had the bar lock in place and they couldn't open the door all the way. Everything is just terrilbe. Stay away.

We began staying in November and we're always quiet, never complained of a dirty room or outlets not working, dirty towels or people smoking majuiana outside of the doors. I work nights so we are pretty quiet and easy going because we had come to like the staff and became friendly.. this is why the situation aggravated me so much. Sometimes we would request a late checkout, and sometimes they would allow. We always picked our trash up and what didn't fit into bags we would place in a neat little area on the table (fast food bags) and made sure all towels were in the tub, beds were roughly made up and everything placed back into order after each stay. Then we got a complaint from the manager saying we can not request a late checkout anymore because they didn't have a housekeeper most days... so we didn't. We left on time each day (mind you, we stay at least 3 days a week) and carried on about our day. Then we get a lecture on the phone about how we need to get large trash bags from the front desk and start taking out our trash... now keep in mind this is not an exorbitant amount by any means, normal fast food trash. The owner decided to retaliate after we did complain when we found a dirty, moldy bra in the corner of our room. So now we will go somewhere else and spend our money somewhere else since the owners want to be rude to PAYING customers. I've not been one to complain, even when I got food poisoning from the waffle mix that was bad, didnt complain about the outlets ont working, phones not working and many other things that we have the right to complain about because we liked the people but never coming back to this place again and I would recommend you not as well. The beds are very comfortable, they even have soft & firm pillows! The only reason I knew this is because the pillow cases are embroidered "soft" and "firm". The location of the hotel is nice. It's just off of I-70 near some restaurants, shopping, and gas stations. It's also not that far from a few nice antique malls. My family & I stayed here because the other hotels that we usually stay at in Springfield were completely booked. We were very pleased with this hotel! The next time that we visit Springfield, this hotel will definitely be on the top of the list!
