I checked into this hotel after the original Marriott property I booked nearby turned out to be unsanitary. Pros: -I was able to get a room at quite literally the last minute (after 11:00 p.m.) -Rooms are clean and comfortable -Laundry room on site -Decent sized bathroom counter -Makeup wipes and makeup mirror provided -The TV doesn't appear to have a sleep timer on it and stayed on throughout the night, which was perfect because I need background noise in order to stay asleep. -The young man at the front desk when I checked out in the morning (for staff identification purposes, he was a tall thin black man with close cut hair) was incredibly polite and professional, especially first thing in the morning. It was very much a welcome contrast to the frustration of dealing with his clueless colleague the previous night. Cons: -Hallways and elevators are a little bit dated, and also quite warm -The laundry room only accepts coins. There is no credit card option and no machine available to convert bills into quarters. -When I asked the young lady at the front desk (for staff identification and retraining purposes, she was a young Asian woman) if she had was able to provide me with change for the dryer, she flippantly replied, "Nope. Sorry. We had quarters last week though." That information doesn't help me with my current challenge. However, what would have been more helpful is something along the lines of, "Unfortunately, we don't have any quarters on site, but let me look up the closest gas station or convenience store that's still open at this time. I'll get you the address and directions if you need them." I'm sure there were also cash registers on site, considering there is a bar in the hotel, but she didn't bother checking there either. Instead, I had to venture out after midnight in an unfamiliar city to find a convenience store and track down some quarters. -For whatever reason, the room key I was given would not open the laundry facility, so the front desk associate also had to manually unlock the door every time I needed access. At one point, I returned to the front desk so she could let me in to retrieve my clothes from the dryer. When I arrived, she appeared to be engaged in a leisurely phone conversation at nearly 2:00 a.m. I understand that overnight shifts can be slow, but customer service should still take priority. What frustrated me most was that she made no effort to acknowledge my presence or indicate that she would be with me shortly. Instead, I stood there awkwardly for several minutes waiting for her to finish the conversation so she could unlock the door. After the difficult day I had, all I wanted to do was grab my laundry and go to bed, but apparently me needing to claim my garments was interrupting her phone conversation. It is painfully evident that retraining is in order. To make matters worse, after multiple trips back and forth to the laundry room, the front desk associate finally offered to provide me with a doorstop... was collecting my clothes from the dryer and ultimately no longer needed it. It would have been a very helpful suggestion during my first or second trip to the laundry room, when the door stop could have actually solved the problem. For a hotel that caters to business travelers, I am dismayed at the lack of common-sense problem solving on the part of this particular staff member. It made an already inconvenient situation even more frustrating than it needed to be. -There were also issues with the laundry room itself. The posted signage states that both the washer and dryer cycles are 30 minutes. The washer cycle is 30 minutes, but the dryer cycle is actually 60 minutes. This signage needs to be updated so guests can plan accordingly. Additionally, if the hotel insists on using antiquated coin-operated laundry machines, the least they can do is provide a bill-change machine. No one is walking around with $7 worth of quarters, especially business travelers. Better yet, add a credit card payment option to the machines. -Additionally, there should be at least a small selection of laundry detergent available for purchase. At minimum, regular Tide and Tide Free & Gentle (for the sensitive-skin girlies like myself), since that brand is rather popular. -Weak water pressure in the shower -The shower does not have a handheld wand. -This hotel is situated across the street from some kind of warehouse and I could hear all kinds of beeping, truck traffic and other miscellaneous work-related sounds quite clearly from the room. All night long. Even in the middle of the night. Not at all conducive to a peaceful and quiet night's rest. I'll sum it up by saying that this hotel was the least-bad option available to me at the time, but given a choice I would absolutely not stay here again. read more

Here for a youth hockey tournament with approximately 40 rooms booked. Despite being a major group booking, the front desk was extremely unaccommodating and confrontational about the presence of children. The situation escalated to the point where they called the police on our group because the kids were playing in the lobby. Hotels that host sports tournaments should expect families and kids - this property clearly isn't equipped or willing to handle youth sports groups professionally. read more

Horrible! This hotel is rated high on Tripadvisor, but look at the most recent reviews and you will see 7 out of 10 are bad. What does that say? Bad manager! DON'T STAY HERE! I'm in hotels 100+ nights/year with most of my stays at Marriott hotels. This is one of the worst managed hotel properties I've ever been at. I had a room on 2nd floor right above the lobby with non-working Wi-Fi. There was a good signal on the meeting room network and when I asked if I could have a password, the front desk refused and told me their IT department would call in a few minutes. The call never came after being there 2 hours. I went to use the pool and hot tub and found there were no towels. Went to the front desk, where the day-shift Manager was, and she told me "they" would bring down towels immediately. After 30 minutes of waiting I gave up and went to use the hot tub. Hot tub was full of cold water so I went back to front desk. Told again towels were on the way (even thought the laundry room was across from the pool and right next door to the office) and was also told their Maintenance man was in the building and would look at the hot tub heater. Maintenance man showed up 20 minutes later and told me he wasn't actually a maintenance man, just a house man, and that there was no Maintenance man onsite. He also told me there was nothing he could do because the hot tub heater had been down all week and everyone knew about it. Finally, I went back to the Manager to let her know how disappointed I was about the level of service at the hotel, and her only response was that I shouldn't try to tell her how to do her job. I went back to my room, packed up, and checked out. There are many better hotels in York PA (look on the other side of Route 30). The quality of Marriott hotels has gone way down lately, and I don't think it's just a local issue, but It's never gotten to a point to where I had to pack up and check out the same day I arrived, until now. read more

Forgot to get a picture of our room itself, but I stayed here with my partner for a wedding. A lot of my friends did actually, but we all had separate rooms. They let us check in early so we could get to the wedding efficiently, but there was a lot of miscommunications on their end about when the room would be available, and then their phone service wasn't going through. The room was nice. I really just slept there. My room has a king size bed, mini fridge, microwave, iron, full bathroom, tv, desk, and a pretty big couch. I was on the 3rd floor. It was clean and I slept well. The hotel itself was quiet. It felt kind of expensive ($150/night) although I don't stay in hotels often enough to have a good sense of this. We stayed here because this is where the wedding party block was. After the wedding, 8 of our friends came back to the room and it wasn't cramped. People sat on the floor but it was overall very comfortable. There were a lot of amenities I didn't get to take advantage of because of how short my stay was, but they have a pool and gym, as well as a fire pit in the back and a really big common space. The staff was nice. I didn't interact with them a ton but they were always smiling and answered the few questions I had, as well as checked us in and out efficiently. read more

This Marriott location does meet industry standards. The experience was negative and had a negative impact to our wedding party. Staff lied, acted clueless and carried themselves in an unprofessional manner. Here is a list of events from the worst hotel experience at this location. 1. Arrived to check in at the hotel to be told there was no running water. Given two water bottles to bathe in. 2. Given a room that was not cleaned properly. Towels on the bathroom floor, shower floor disgusting and trash in the bins. 3. Asked for a clean room - front desk staff followed up with there is nothing he could do as there are currently 5 weddings. 4. Foul smell looming from a dead squirrel outside my window. 5. Front desk clerk lied to multiple members of our family who booked a room through booking stating booking.com did not send over the reservation. The Courtyard by Marriott is in an odd location, surrounded by two warehouses and two shopping centers, but it's not hard to find being directly off the street. Hotel has penalty of parking. The interior of the hotel and our suite was modern looking and nice. Suite was well laid out with two beds and a pull-out couch, and the room included two TV's. Beds were ok and not uncomfortable. The soundproofing in general could have been a little better in the rooms and the bathroom. Our room didn't have the greatest view as we were aimed directly at the back of the York Town Center. Currently, the hotel has no soda or vending machines, and its restaurant, The Bistro is also closed due to the pandemic. Instead, next to check-in is a small "market" area with snacks, soda, and some alcoholic beverages for sale. Overall, nice hotel and I'd stay here again. read more

My son and daughter in law and their family tried to book a room on July 6, 2025 and were treated unkindly and disrespected when they tried to get stay for a night because their central air was not working. The day was hot and humid and my twin grandsons were extremely hot and uncomfortable. Because my one grandson was inconsolably crying the front desk woman refused to allow them to stay and said she would call the police. They were just looking for a room for the night for their children to get them out of the heat and were denied and threatened with the law. If you are in customer service you should not be rude. I recommend not staying due to the disrespectful employees you hire. People here seem unkind and unhelpful in emergency situations read more

I stayed at this location for 2 nights while in town for work. The location was nice because it was only a 10 min drive to and from every morning. My room was a decent size but like every other Courtyard the fridges are very small. I found the place to be clean and the staff to be friendly. They have an indoor pool and a decent sized gym to work out in . The one downside was that I found the elevator to be painfully slow. I only used it twice and decided to take the steps the rest of the time. read more

Having worked for Marriot for several years, I expected a typical Marriot experience during our 3 night stay. Unfortunately, my expectations weren't met. Our room was neglected with holes in the wall above the desk/dresser, burned out mini bulbs in the same area and peeling wallpaper. Housekeeping quality was poor and the last night we arrived in our room to find that it hadn't been cleaned, requiring us to bring used towels and full trash bags to the front desk. Staff had a poor attitude, appearing overworked and unsupported. This was obvious the second night when the hotel was full with only a bartender and front-desk clerk on-site. At one point the front desk and bar were abandoned for 45 minutes as the 2 staff had to retreat to clean booked rooms that the first shift housekeeping staff neglected to prepare for waiting guests. The front lobby was dirty with food and other debris littering the carpet. The rear tables were adorned with small vases of dead, crispy flowers, in need of replacement. At the price point demanded for room rates of this hotel, I'd expect more. Instead, the quality aligned more with discount motels. I recommend checking other options and avoiding this facility. read more

Bottom Line: A comfortable hotel that serves its primary function as a place to sleep. This Courtyard was built several years ago but it still feels new, modern and clean. The lobby is welcoming like a hotel lobby should be and the rooms are maintained and clean. The Bistro in the lobby is good for breakfast or a light dinner. They even have some beer and wine. Other hotel amenities include an indoor pool and small workout room. There is plenty of parking and the hotel is close to restaurants and shops. read more

I have been travelling for the past month and have been hitting one good hotel after another! This was yet another very nice Courtyard. In the past I have preferred Fairfield Inns, but lately I have stayed in some nice Courtyards, including this one. Check-in girl was very nice and friendly. My room was quite large with 2 queens, a big workdesk, closet, frig, microwave, coffee pot, etc. I loved the bathroom. It had extra shelving, and it was only a shower - not a tub. It had a great shower head, and glass doors - which I loved. My bed was great - firm yet cushy - and great pillows! The sheets were clean, as was the bathroom and all the towels. There was a big picture window in my room - I loved all the natural light. There's no free breakfast, but you can buy it from a little café in the lobby (as well as dinner). There IS free wi-fi and free parking. I was only there for 1 night, and it was late when I checked in so I really couldn't see what kind of area it was. It's very convenient to the Interstate, and I did see some big stores like Staples, Bed Bath and Beyond, Old Navy, etc. But, I don't know what else is around. Great stay. read more

CAUTION TO SINGLE FEMALE TRAVELERS! Marriott Case # 169-885-632 Stayed 9/22/2019 - 09/23/2019. I checked in around 7:30pm, Sunday evening. Woman at check in was very unwelcoming. Went to my room, ate dinner and then took a shower. While taking a shower just after 8pm, someone tried to enter my room. I could hear from the shower someone at the door and repeated knocking. I thought they would go away, jumped out of the shower and they had the door oped but it hit the slide bolt so they could not enter. I yelled who is it. The man said he was house keeping. Now this is not the type of hotel with turn down service so there should NOT be any on from house keeping coming in this late at night. I was extremely upset so i called down to the front desk. The same not-so nice woman answered. I told her what happened and she didn't seem to care, more interested in the foot ball games. She finally agreed to check with house keeping why they were there. After a long hold, she came back and said he was trying the doors to make sure the room doors were locked from earlier in the day. And then she hung up. WHAT!? That makes no sense. All hotel doors lock when they are closed. I immediately called Marriott corporate. The gentleman was very nice and took down all the details and gave me a case number. He read back everything he included in the report and said someone would get back to me in a few days. Long story short, after i made a call every week to corporate to get an answer - is this is normal policy for house keeping to check doors at 8pm and open a locked door? I received a voice mail from Melissa, a manager at the property on 10/8/19. Called her back with in a hour. They were investigating the incident and she would get back to me the following day. I left a message for her on 10/16/19 and NO CALL BACK (today is 10/19/9)! I explained to her, if there is something going on there with staff, Marriott should know. This is what happened to me as a guest, has it happened to others? I don't want this to happen to any one that forgets to do the extra door locks. Makes me also wonder if there was a camera in the room too? I was so rattled after this. I wanted to leave but didn't know where to go. So I just put the do not disturb sign on the door, and literally ran out of the hotel at 7am. No breakfast, just left. I am a loyal Marriott member. Currently have 7 reservations for next year but i am really thinking it might be time to move away from this irresponsible company. But at least i want to warn any single travelers that are considering staying here. Be warned and proceed with caution! read more

This is disgusting. The moment we walked in the door we were met by Miss I hate my job. The first room the toilet wouldn't flush & we weren't even sure the bedding was clean as the extra bedding was just thrown into the closet. Second room just a few doors down was across from a room that was taped partially opened with plastic all over the floor and the heat on as high as it could possibly go. Guessing there was a water issue, no fans on the job!! Our 2nd room was nasty also, stained towels, extra bedding again, in closet folded nicely this time but not in bag. This place was CLASSY!!!!!! It is definitely a new and very nice hotel. I got in late at night and had to leave early in the am, before the continental breakfast even started!!! :( So I didn't really get a chance to check out the hotel as thoroughly as I would have liked. My room = gorgeous. Had a non traditional layout, nice tv, brand new super clean bathroom, great soaps, etc. The bed was comfy. The lobby= gorgeous. Great dsign, friendly staff, coffee at all times, and computers and printers for personal use. I looked out the window of my room and saw a FIRE PIT in the back! Awesome. I think they had a pool and fitness center bit I didn't check them out. If I have to travel to this area again, I will definitely stay here! I would give 5 stars, except for location... They only had one person working for awhile though, and there should've been at least 2 on a Saturday morning at 8. Worse Marriott I've stayed in the last 5 years. I travel often for businessand 90% of time, I stay at a Mariott, this is the worst one by far. First room my heater didn't work and some of the lights didn't work. So I called about the heater, 3 hours went by no one came up, so I went down stairs. The receptionist said, well we don't have any one who can fix it today. Got another room, then asked for few more towels and shampoo. She walked to the back shaking her head, once she gave it to me I thanked her, and her response was "mmmmmhm." Disappointed because you're charged Marriott prices, but the rooms are outdated, as well as the furniture, the brown old furniture in the rooms remind me of hotels in the 90s. I highly doubt this hotel is owned by Marriott Int., because their employees aren't like this, and hotels are much more modern. Not sure who is the franchisee, but those rooms need work, as well as the people who your customers are first greeted by upon their arrival. Sorry, but this is my last stay here, hope it gets better from here. read more

New. Modern. Really like the feel and decor. In the lobby is a large social room. There's a bar for breakfast to order and pay. Beer and wine is available to buy. The room was clean and quiet. Had a coffee pot. Note the Courtyard does not have free coffee in the lobby like Fairfield. A shopping center next to the hotel has lots of stores and several restaurants that you can walk to. Had a good, 1 night stay here. Everything was very new and clean. Bridget, at the Front desk, was amazing and very friendly. She was eager to meet any requests we had and had a constant, big bright smile at all times. They have a cafe and a pool and jacuzzi area that was very warm and clean with fresh towels. Room was very big with high ceilings, and extremely clean. Only con I can think of is that there was no complimentary breakfast. But I would recommend this great hotel if visiting the Hershey or Lancaster area! read more

Stayed in this hotel the week of 9/10. Front desk was very lovely, and polite. The morning bistro staff was very organized and friendly. The food came out very fast and was perfect. The reason why I am giving a 1 Star is because in the evening I was enjoying a drink and meal. As I'm enjoying my food I noticed that the Food and Beverage Manager, Laura was my bartender. While talking to her she expressed absolute distaste for the morning bistro shift, which I found profoundly unprofessional. After an altercation with a live bat, this Marriot saved me from near insanity and possibly rabies. Let me explain: I arrived at this hotel at 3:30 AM. This was after a tumultuous, surreal night that started at an Airbnb four hours earlier. Trying to avoid costly hotel rates, I had booked a room in a man's house, nestled deep in rural Pennsylvania. When I first arrived, I was met by a twitchy, possibly strung out man with silver fingernails. A bit unsettled, but determined to enjoy my night, I popped out to explore the area. When I arrived back at 11:30 PM, I sat down on the mattress and prepared for sleep. I'd have to wake up at 5 AM to head into DC. That is, until I heard a rustling noise coming from the corner of the room. You know the bat I mentioned? It was trapped in the room, between a window and a screen, only first noticed at night due to its nocturnal habits. It was squealing, scratching around the window, and honestly would have been cute if not commonly known for carrying encephalitis, rabies, and ebola. Now I had to wake up this man with silver fingernails. I'm feeling around in the dark, illuminating the creeky 200-year old farm house with the light of an iPhone. I had tried calling of course, but this man was resting deeply (somewhere in the house, I know not where). I am shouting his name, tapping on walls, and finally I discover he is behind a curtain, sleeping on a chair. Disgruntled, groggy, and seemingly unapologetic about the bat situation, he joins me in the room where he breaks open the previously sealed window (a mystery how the bat got trapped) to let it escape. The bat is now sitting in the windowsill, behind the now mostly-closed window, seemingly dead and not leaving (possibly due to the deadness). Who knows how long it had been trapped? I tried tapping the window to trigger its departure, then ran the dull end of a plastic fork along the bottom of the window to hopefully wake it. This was a critical error. The bat AWAKENS, looks back at me, SHOUTS A SHRILL WAR CRY, and then somehow slinks its body underneath the window and back into the room. The terror of this moment was both hilarious and horrifying, I'm having my very own Batman origin story. I run out of the room, shutting the door behind me. I hear it collide with lamps, walls, who knows what. I crack open the door to look and the bat is doing circles around the room (almost majestically). All my stuff is inside, including my phone which I dropped in the flurry. There is, at this point, a zero percent chance I'm going to wake up the silver fingernailed homeowner again, so I crack open the door one more time. The bat stops its circular flightpath and zooms DIRECTLY TOWARD ME. I slam the door just in time. I wait a few moments until the sounds of bat-to-lamp collisions subside and dart into the room. I don't see the bat, it could be anywhere. I could be its next victim. I grab my stuff and get the hell out. Now, I feel I have essentially no choice but to leave the house. It's 12:30 and I get on the road. I drive for two hours, hoping for a hotel closer to DC. I finally land at a York, PA Holiday Inn. Upon arrival, I am confronted by a drunk Navy Seal and a father whose daughter is to be married the next day. Both are wasted, don't know each other, and immediately trap me in conversation. The father is pouring his heart out, telling me he's sorry he let his daughter use his favorite song as her wedding song, because "now I will cry every time I hear it. It's my favorite song. Why did I let her use it? What have I done? Have I told you my daughter is getting married tomorrow?" After somehow slinking out of this fascinating interaction, I am told by the Holiday Inn that it is actually too late to check me in, even though one room is available, because new guests will need to occupy the room in only a few hours. Ok. Now the Navy Seal tells me he is married to the old Asian woman at the front desk, which is not relevant, nor ultimately true, but colored the moment nicely. I'm on my ass again and on the road. Five straight hotels I call have no availabilities. It's 3:30 now and I finally arrive at the Courtyard York Marriot. As it turns out, it's so late that the hotel is rebooting its system and doing a "time audit" (I had no idea what the front desk woman was talking about when I called). Now I'm chatting with this nice Marriot employee whose name now escapes me on account of the 3:30 AM interaction. She attempts to book me a room despite the system reboot and reveals a shockingly high rate. She can read on my face (and possibly due to the time of night) that I've just been through a situation. I explain my showdown with the bat, the owner with silver fingernails, the drunk Navy Seal, I just lay it all out there. In response, she gets me the lowest rate possible, the "bereavement rate." The room is impeccable, bat free, and I sleep for 3 hours. I'm so thankful for this Marriot and am proudly rabies-free to this day. read more

Background: I spend over $45,000 a year for hotels rooms for myself and my employees. That's more than most mortgages. I normally book thru priceline but more and more like and use Expedia. I understand how hotels and priceline normally work. Booked 3 rooms thru priceline. Upon checking in I requested one of the rooms to be double bed room instead of King with Sofabed. Unsmiling tired looking Front desk clerk signed heavily, rolled her eyes and stated that she couldn't change room types unless we paid the normal rate. I checked the Courtyard Website and the King room was same price as double bed. Says she can't do it without manager approval - No manager on duty. What 3 star hotel has no manager on duty? Extremely rare for a hotel to refuse to change rooms unless there is a actual price difference or requested room is unavailable. Seemed to me the front desk clerk just didnt want to do it. Called priceline and they stated they can't change it either and all they can do is request it like I just did. Would have understood if there was a price difference. If for some reason I wouldn't have liked the room they had reserved they would have moved us to another room so why so hard to move to a double bed room so my kids had a decent bed? Room was OK average for 3 star. A bit on the small side. Smelled a little stale. Sofa bed terrible. King bed fine. Power receptacles close to bed non functional, worn out. read more

Had a wonderful stay! Clean rooms and friendly, helpful staff. This was my second time staying here and will definitely stay here again!

I choose Marriott whenever possible. I stayed in this hotel last month...July 7th (one night). Although the renovations were not finished as promised when I made the reservation a month prior, it is still a very nice hotel. Front Desk Associate, Alana (sp?), apologized that the pool was not available (a selling point for us) and in fact, gave us a voucher for breakfast the next morning, as to help make up for the disappointment. While I was getting dressed on Sunday morning, my parents, who traveled with us and in their 70s, went to use the voucher ALMOST at the close of breakfast hours. Kendra, the hostess, was soooo rude to them. She told them that they could not have anything...not even coffee... although the packaged food was staring them in the face, simply because she had already closed out. Thankfully, another employee (I cannot think of her name...UGH) witnessed what happened, beckoned for them to come over and she served them from another cooler. To make matters worse, Kendra told them that they could NOT sit in certain areas...let's just say she basically told them to go to "the back of the bus". However, when another man, who was SEVERAL HUES LIGHTER came down to use his voucher (WELL BEYOND CLOSING), Kendra apologized that most of the good food selections were already taken but served him and offered coffee AND...get this, told him to make himself comfortable at any table or space that he liked. Although Kendra was not aware that my parents were still in the lobby, the very nice front desk attendant witnessed this and apologized to them for the blatant disrespect. On my way back home, I called the hotel to speak with the general manager about the incident and a charge on my bill and was told by Michelle, that she was off and would return the next day (Monday). When my call was not returned, I tried again because unfortunately, I wanted to let her know about the BED BUGS that I had discovered on my body. AS OF TODAY, MY CREDIT CARD WAS REFUNDED FOR THE WIFI CHARGE, BUT I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE A RETURNED PHONE CALL TO DISCUSS KENDRA OR THE BED BUGS. read more

Beautiful Hotel! Was very impressed when I walked it, looks like a high class lobby. The rooms were modern, new and up scale for a Courtyard. They had continental breakfast that was average. The style of this hotel is awesome and at a good price. Highly Recommended. read more

New, modern, clean. Everything you want in a hotel. It was easy to find, the staff was friendly, and it was affordable! The amenities here are great: free wifi, hbo, heated pool and hottub. They have a bistro in house. Everything looks very modern and high class - such great value. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. read more

For 150 a night and i have to pay for coffee in york pa but in bethlehem pa its free. Never again bye bye marriot . This place is not for children as the TV in the room sucks . Next ill stay at the holiday inn express for the same money and get a free coffee and a better tv read more

Loudest housekeeping staff ever. All I've heard all morning are doors slamming and vacuums. Lightbulb out in bathroom. Other than that, nice room and clean. read more
