Room decor may be a little outdated but the overall facility itself seemed very well kept when we stayed there early September 2023. Staff were pretty polite and friendly especially the front desk. The room was clean and accommodated our two dogs. We appreciated that we were by the courtyard and close to the exits so its convenient when we have to take the dogs out for a walk. We also loved the large bottles of shampoo, conditioner and lotion rather than those tiny ones you have to keep asking staff for a refill. Location wise is good as well, just right beside the gas station and close to dining areas. We also chose this location specifically as it was only 10mins away from Spooky Nook sports complex. Overall had a good stay, too bad we werent able to use the pool as that also looked very well maintained. read more

We enjoyed our stay at the Hilton Garden Inn. Our hotel room was clean and large. The bathroom was also clean. We stayed during the middle of the week so it was fairly empty. I had a Long Island iced tea at the bar and it was a great drink. The breakfast was good. The staff is very helpful and courteous. This hotel is conveniently located across from the Lancaster mall. The hotel facilities are ok, but the restaurant is horrible. Breakfast does not live up to the Hilton name. The first thing was the coffee, cold; not drinkable temperature, cold cold. Then the food came. Pancakes are as thin as a tortilla, and had a weird color like transparent. The 3 egg omelette was watery and tasteless (as if they diluted the eggs with water or something to make more). We couldn't eat that disgusting attempt of food, I asked to speak to the manager and it was the person who cooked the food. Today we stayed in a Hilton Garden Inn. The hotel was nicely set up, I have a few small issues but I'll discuss those later. The Service: The Service was awesome from check-in to check-out, because I signed up to be a Hilton Honors Member I was given two bottles of water; that was pretty cool to me but I'm pretty easy to please. The Room: The room I really liked, it was nicely setup, bed was comfortable (side note, I realized that there was a sleep number switch on the side of the bed that I didn't even know about.) the bathroom was clean and well stocked. They had a Keurig in the room, an Iron and other needed items. Also first hotel that I've been in where I actually knew how to surf the channels. They had DirecTV (biased). The Workout Facility: It was small and was enough room to do my workout. However there aren't any free weights, 2 treadmills and 1 elliptical. They did have a swimming pool that I didn't get a chance to try. My Gripes: The only real gripe I have is that there isn't a complimentary breakfast but again that's a small issue. The food smelled good, I never had the opportunity. Maybe next time. Hotel is older but well maintained. Problem is rooms are too spread out and u may have to walk long distances to your room. There are only 2 floors and elevators are not conveniently located. Front desk personnel are very nice. Rooms themselves need to be refurbished but are still clean and nice. Ate dinner in restaurant as I was tired after traveling. Food was not great- had a steak sandwich which was dry and over cooked served with French fries. Restaurant atmosphere was good. Location of hotel is convenient. I usually do well with hotels and have no complaints,but this time I do. The service here is absolutely ridiculous. I haven't been so embarrassed by an employee until I came to this establishment. I had a little fallout with the manager Nancy, the sales manager and the lady working at the front desk at the time. When speaking to me the manager, Nancy and the sales manager, were extremely rude and even had the audacity to ask me if I've ever "ran a hotel". Uhm... like that had nothing to do with the situation at hand. I asked for a policy and they didn't even give me one. They were just so rude I couldn't believe it. Then NANCY (I don't even believe she was the manager because her name tag said house keeping) decided to jump in my conversation that I was having with my sister. I told my sister I felt like a peasant just sitting in the lobby and NANCY had the audacity to "say excuse me? Did you just call us peasants." Like what don't jump in our conversation, stay within your role. I work in customer service and I always keep up a smile and not be rude so these staff need to learn to do the same. We reserved 3 rooms. Reluctantly, we decided to check out the hotel before our 3PM reservation for Sight & Sound (knowing that it can be quite difficult to get an early check-in). I work in a hotel so i know the difficulties of the business (especially in our demanding day). Front desk was very accommodating....explained it might be a little while. We decided to check-out the establishment. When we returned (15 min later), they had our rooms ready for check-in. Not only was the gardens beautiful, the rooms were very well maintained, front desk and management went above and beyond for our benefit. We loved Sight & Sound and came back and enjoyed the pool (towels provided by Hilton). We had an awesome night's sleep and enjoyed the complimentary coffee and bagged breakfast (not expected). Thanks so much for making our stay in Lancaster a pleasant one! read more

I stay almost 200 nights/year in hotels 130 at Hilton properties. Having "Hilton Honors Diamond" status really gives me a lot of perks and special treatment, especially when traveling in Asia. But it doesn't mean anything at this hotel, no bottled water at check-in, no room upgrade offer, no thanks for being a diamond member, no voucher for free breakfast or drink at the bar, nothing. What I got was a rude insulting cook when I tried to order breakfast. So I just walked back to my room this morning and didn't eat breakfast at the hotel. The good news is I was told by the Manager I would get 25% off the price of the breakfast. Yes, 25% off the breakfast I didn't get. The same breakfast that is suppose to be free to Hilton Diamond members. There are several other Hilton properties here locally that I will try next trip. For a Hilton Garden Inn this location is more like a Hampton Inn. A very scaled back version with minimal amenities. read more

Very clean, as you would expect a Hilton to be. Rooms were an excellent condition with a large TV and luggage rack in the closet. The pool area was also clean and we enjoyed the hot tub, although a bit heavy on chlorine. Front desk staff were super friendly and welcoming throughout the stay. The only negative is the lack of continental breakfast; I feel these have gone away for good after pandemic which is really a shame. The bistro in the lobby it is pricey and not terribly good. Overall a good day, just deducting a star for the lack of an old-fashioned continental breakfast. read more

For Lancaster, PA I think this HGI is as good as it gets. Some of the rooms have super spacious cathedral ceilings ... a couple of the rooms are corner units with windows on two walls for an abundance of natural sunlight. If facing a courtyard, the ground floor has patios, the 2nd floor has balconys and there are two courtyards, one with patio dining and the other with nice landscaping. Its a fantastic hotel! The swimming pool is 2x as large as other hotels so you can actually swim small laps and they have a great hot tub. The restaurant offers restaurant-quality breakfast and dinner- really good food! And the staff are warm and welcoming. This is my favorite hotel in the area! read more

They were under construction so some things obviously were being worked on. My only complaint is the need for an elevator. Although I think what was due to the construction also. The maid service should be done every 2 days not every 5 days. As I stayed 4 days but, I really needed new towels, trash removed and etc on the end of day 2. Overall great experience ! read more

Odd hotel room that seems like there is more vertical real estate, given the cathedral ceiling, than actual floor space. The gripe is mostly a result of the tiny bathroom and toilet in this room. Despite the hard bed, we managed to sleep reasonably well with ear plugs in. Update: we discovered on our exit, that you can dial mattress firmness. Was in back corner of building and desk clerk had to show us where it was. No luggage carts at front entrance. No water in lobby. No water or coffee in room. On Saturday, July 27 around 1:00pm, my husband and I checked into the Hilton Garden Inn Lancaster. We are African Americans in our mid 50's. I was not expecting to have an experience like we did, I though we were pass this racial tension. But we encountered it last night and again today. The young White Receptionist did not welcome us in as a customer. She took our information and gave us our key. She did tell us specifics about the hotel such as where the pool hours and location, did not mention the business center nor did she mention breakfast to us until we asked. She did not even direct us to the elevator. Once we arrive in the room it was clean and smelling good. However, we could not get the tv on, so we had to contact maintenance. The maintenance guy came in and had to reset the tv, it took about 15 minutes. The tv stayed on that night since we kept the same channel. There was also some loud noise throughout the room the entire night, we wasn't sure where it was coming from, it may have been the water or pipes not sure. The next morning when we went to turn the tv back on it was out again. The next day on the way back from breakfast, I went to the front desk to speak to a Rep. (another young white girl). She asked me if I was checking out, I said no I will do it later. Then I explained to her my experience in the room, with the tv and the weird loud noises, all she could say I am sorry do you want me to call maintenance. I said no, we are about to check out I will be back. We finally came downstairs at 11:50 to check out. Again, the young Rep that was on duty the night before, did not even ask us how our stay was. I went on to explain the problems, hoping she would compensate us for it. Since we paid $166.00 for 1 night stay, but she said nothing but sorry. My husband stated for me not to worry and that they will be hearing from us. I believe that these two young white girls need to be trained in customer service, so they can understand how to treat their customers equally. I would like to discuss this issue with the manager of this location. read more

I am an event planner so my review is based on my interactions with the staff regarding my 3-day meeting and the follow-up evaluations from the clients at the end of the meeting. I could not have asked for a better hotel. I've been doing this job for 4 years and this hotel had the most accommodating staff. The director of sales, Nate Kauffman, was on top of every issue brought to him. On one of the days I had forgotten to order a lunch. An event planner's worst nightmare. The staff whipped up a lunch for my clients that pleased everyone. Behind the scenes it was pure chaos, but my clients barely detected a glitch. Their quick thinking saved my reputation and I am forever grateful. My hats off to this hotel. My clients had a great time and I came out of the whole deal looking good despite my oversights. But this is an old Garden Inn and the unrenovated rooms are badly in need of some upgrades. Corded, push-button phone...? I haven't seen one of these since the 1980s. No matter...the phone line doesn't work anyway. Staff is kind. Cookies are warm, and the bar / restaurant area is pleasant. I am a Gold Hilton member and have stayed in many Hilton,Doubletree properties and this was a first HGI stay. Everything was wonderful except for the breakfast which was the worst I have eaten anywhere even in a nurshing home. I have had hospital food taste better. I am not a coffee snob but had to resort to room coffee to get a decent cup to drink. My wife was mad that I forced her to eat all three days there. Basically no menu only omelette which were horrible. I sent a review to the hotel after I checked out and received no response so I guess they do not care. The bad news first, this hotel is an original Hilton Garden inn. It has been renovated so my room was beautiful, but impossible to find. This place is like a corn maze. The lady at the front desk was obviously new and have me some half ass directions on how to get there. From the front desk to my room should not be 6 turns to remember. The restaurant, bar, and breakfast service was amazing. I stay at Hilton's often and this was above par. The crab cakes are real. Not frozen, not full of bland fillers. "Give Zsuzsanna a raise!!!" Forgive me if I spelt her name incorrectly, but here's the story. We checked into the Hilton Garden Inn on Friday, July 3. When we got there, she was the only on at the front desk on duty and there were about 3 of us in line. As she professionally checked all the groups in and finally got to us, we mentioned to her - - busy night - - and she explained that she was supposed to have 2 more with her that evening. After we checked in, we told her that our daughter and son-in-law was going to spend the night there on the following night and if they could be near us that would be great. Without missing a beat, she set their room up for the following evening. The following evening, the 4th of July, again she was alone. She recommended some restaurants to have a late dinner at but they were closed because of the Holiday. Finally, we ate at the bar - - burgers and chicken fingers - - and they were much better than expected. Never an attitude and professional under a tense and busy holiday weekend - - great job!!! I stayed here for business a few weeks ago. To be fair, they are renovating and updating their facility but I've definitely stayed at nicer Hotels. Breakfast was a decisive 'meh' and with other hotels offering free breakfasts that are in my opinion far superior, I would find it hard to justify spending more time here. The HVAC units in the rooms looked like they were from the 80's complete with the contact paper wood grain trim. read more

The staff was friendly upon check-in and overall the property was nicely kept. There isn't much near the property as far as restaurants go and don't expect to find any food late at night unless you want to drive a few miles to one of the few diners. It's fine for a business traveler but I'd probably stay elsewhere if visiting with my family. The shower pressure was pretty good which was a bonus. The gym was underwhelming. No free weights, 1 elliptical machine, 2 treadmills (if I remember correctly), and 1 cable machine. They had a pull-up bar, which is nice... until you immediately see that it is unusable due to how close it is to the ceiling and lights. My bed was comfortable and room temperature control worked great. They do not have any espresso-based coffee options in the restaurant area but there is a Starbucks nearby. read more

We stayed here for two nights just last week. It was clean and the rooms were nice and comfortable. Our only issue was with the access to the rooms. There were four of us and we had a lot of luggage. We put it on the cart and could barely get the cart in the small small elevator. There was only one on the far end of the hotel for access to the upper floors. Then it was what felt like a 20 minute hike to our room around and around the Mulberry Bush. If you decide to stay here try to get a first floor room and one close to the lobby otherwise you will get your exercise. I travel for work and stayed here for 2 nights in January 2011. There had been a snow storm the previous day and the parking lot had been plowed and the sidewalks had been salted. The room was large, clean and quiet. The bed was comfortable, the TV worked properly, the iron worked properly and the ironing board cover wasn't stained. I had good reception on the wireless internet in my room. In the morning, the shower water was nice and hot and the shower had great wtaer pressure. I saw that the hotel had a bar and an exercise room, but I did not use either. The hotel had a breakfast buffet in the morning that had a reasonable price. The food selection was standard breakfast selections, both hot and cold. They also had an omelette station. Overall, I'd be very happy to stay here again. read more

I love Hilton Garden Inns. Have stayed at them all over the northeast. While I enjoyed my stay here, this seems to be my least favorite of those I've stayed at. Cleaning service did not come on one of the days, and while I can certainly make my own bed, paying $150+ per night, I just expected them to come. We called and asked for extra towels. Not a catastrophe. Room was clean, workers were friendly. Not a great experience at the bar. Bartender had no personality, drinks were small. Nothing to them. Did not try the food at the restaurant. Would stay again. Just want to stress that even with complaints, I did enjoy my stay. read more

My wife, Daughter and I recently spent a night here. It's located very close to downtown Lancaster and is just off Route 30. There's plenty of parking and the hotel is only 2 floors. It's very spread out. Depending on where your room is, it can be a very long walk to your room. Check-in was pretty easy but then we had a long haul to our room. The room itself was actually spacious, clean and nice. No complaints from me there. There were two things I did not like about the room: the bed was not very comfortable. I'm a fan of most hotel beds but not this one (their competitor that starts with an "M" has much more comfortable beds). The other thing I was not big on was that they did not have a bathtub, only a stand up shower. But, the room did have a desk, refrigerator and Keurig machine. They also had free Wi-Fi which is a plus. In my opinion, all hotels should have free Wi-Fi but I don't make the rules. Our room was also located very close to the gym and the pool which was nice and I got to use both of them. The gym was incredibly tiny. 2 treadmills, an eliptical and one universal machine. The treadmills were Precor and they were nice so props to them there. I was able to get a morning run in. The pool was nice and they also had a jacuzzi. There was no one there when we used it so that was cool. The reason for my 2 star rating was that the place was incredibly loud and they ran out of blankets. How do you run out of blankets? I also asked for foam pillows and they did not have any. And, did I mention the hotel was loud? There were doors slamming everywhere until about one in the morning. The slamming doors woke me up a few times. Not cool, especially when you have a 6 month old. Overall, it's definitely not a bad hotel but it was super loud. I'm pretty sure they were packed but still, I enjoy my sleep. I'd probably look to stay elsewhere my next time in Lancaster. read more

We stayed here April 17 - 19, 2015. Nice, clean and updated! We loved our room #181. It was on the first floor, courtyard view, which meant it had a sliding glass door, that opened into the courtyard, this would have been nice if we were not so busy sight seeing, we could have relaxed out there in the evenings. . The room and bathroom were SPOTLESS. The bathroom has a large walk in shower. The room was big enough to move around in and relax. The ONLY thing I could say I would have changed was the bed, it has air bladders in it that one could make firmer or softer. We prefer a pillow top bed. Don't let this discourage you, we still slept fine. The breakfast was around $9.00, and it is well worth every penny. Half buffet style, half made to order food. Excellent food and plenty of options to choose from. Made to order omelets, pancakes, waffles, etc. We would gladly pay the $9 for a good breakfast, than get a so, so free breakfast. Everyone on staff was quite friendly. This is a very comfortable hotel to stay in. If we travel back to Lancaster, Pa. We will definitely stay at this hotel. read more

We came here for a field hockey tournament due to the hotels closeness to the Spooky Nook facilities. Check in was quick, rooms are clean, the kids love the pool and hot tub. Breakfast was good. The bar is quaint. The people working are ALL very friendly and eager to help. There are so many people working to keep the place clean and provide service that it seems like Disney. BUT the key card reader on the outside doors did not work properly (needs maintenance) and the staff couldn't get their act together to get us two key cards that could open our room door. Direct tv service also not functioning. The hotel looks top notch but the reality is something different. I am a Hilton Honors and Grand Vacations member. Doing a day of antiquing, there was a need for a place to put ones head. Picked to stay here due to good reviews, having a bar, and an indoor pool. The check-in was easy the front desk folks were very nice. After dropping of the bags at the room head to the pool for a swim. The pool area was good and had plenty of clean dry towels. After returning from dinner hit the bar for several nightcaps and watched some of the World Series. They had a good selection of beer, wine, and liquor to chose from. I also got to upset a Yankees fan by telling them I was an Orioles fan. Before checking out hit the pool one more time and had breakfast there. They had a good selection of breakfast food and it was good. The ice machine was right down from the room and worked like a champ. They had a little convenience store that I was able to get a few postcards. All my dealings with the folks that work here were good and they were all very nice. The only thing I did not do during my stay was to see if porn was available to rent. It is one of the two things I alway check on when staying at a hotel.
