My family and I came up to PA for an overnight trip. We found this hotel on Google and thought that it looked up to date and modern so we booked it. Unfortunately I didn't look at the reviews before booking which I should have. We arrived and the night staff at the front desk wasn't the nicest and seemed like he had better things to do. After we got checked in, we went up to the room and my wife took off her shoes and noticed the floor was sticky. She thought it had just been cleaned so naturally could have felt sticky but was really just a little wet. Nope. Hours later it was still sticky. After staying in the room for a bit, it was time to get ready for bed and we went to arrange the room so our son who is 1.5 years old could be in his pack and play and be blocked so he can't see us (so he falls asleep without distractions). We went to move the couch and when we did, there were crumbs from who knows when underneath. Not just little crumbs, I am talking pepperonis, full French fries, chunks of bread, etc. immediately we called down to the front desk and they offered to move us to another room so we did. At 9:30pm. This was after blatantly asking 'are you wanting a discount or new room?' Once in the new room, we moved the couch again and noticed it hadn't been cleaned. We know this because we found the remote that had been replaced already. Also more crumbs. This room wasn't that bad though so we stayed. In the morning, our son was running around and the corner piece that protects the wall corner fell off randomly and crashed to the floor, luckily missing him. We tried putting it back on but it was useless. One last thing we noticed is the water is scorching hot. Don't let your kids at any age control the water temperature of the bath/shower/sink because it is hot enough to make a grown man cry. We use to come to this La Quinta because we have family in the area and didn't want to impose with our dogs. The last time we visited was Dec 2019. This has been our 4th stay at this La Quinta & this past weekend will be our last EVER! It was obvious to us upon check in that the hotel's quality had significantly declined over the last 2 years. First, there is a hidden pet fee which is ridiculous because all of the many La Quintas we have stayed at over the years in various states never included a pet fee. Next this hotel has obviously become a PARTY hotel as the guests stayed up all night drinking, smoking marijuana and listening to loud music. We stayed on the third floor and the bathroom sink in our room had a leak. We are a military family and stayed 2 nights. The first night we shook off as a random Friday night party, but the second night made it clear to us this is the norm. The overnight front desk clerk was condescending and not helpful at all. After being awaken repeatedly we decided to pack up our young child & infant and leave at 3am (hours before our check out). We were not going to subject ourselves, or children to that environment any further. DO NOT STAY HERE! read more

Not good service... my fiancé and I came in super late (5:30 am) from a very long road trip and needed a room. Usually we go to La Quinta because they are pretty consistent with their service and hospitality. The woman helping us at the front desk couldnt get anything to work and had us sit there for about 20-25 minutes. Following that, she did not tell us that we would have to pay 180$ to leave in 5 hours (after she took ages to get a room). The woman that knocked for housekeeping was very rude telling us to get out at 11:03. Every other La Quinta we've stayed in recently (quite a few) has given us the full day if we ask for a room that early, which is very helpful after a long road trip through the night. overall poor and disappointing. read more

This is the worst hotel I have EVER stayed at. I checked in for a week for a work travel assignment. The bathroom was filthy, pubes everywhere, walls have odd splashes and hand prints on them, smelled like weed in the hallway and elevators every single night, dogs barking CONSTANTLY, people not wearing masks running around the halls and lobby, unhelpful staff, thinnest walls ever. A nice modern building; clean and comfortable rooms; pet friendly. They have a breakfast buffet, free Wifi, exercise room, indoor pool, laundry services. Very friendly staff. There are many restaurants, banks and shopping nearby. My only real knock on the rooms are the bathroom showers. They could use more racks and shelves for towels, soap, and other sundries. Tip: The local traffic pattern is a little chaotic and it could be easy to drive past the hotel; in which case you might need to enter a nearby shopping center to circle and drive back to the hotel. read more

Don't stay here it's not worth the money they charge. The pool they advertise was completely empty. Neither of the room keys would unlock the doors. Luckily a customer let us in the locked entrance. There was no ice anywhere and the water fountain in the lobby was empty. At breakfast the only beverage available was coffee, no milk, water or juice for kids without finding an employee (who was hiding in back on his cell phone) to ask for juice. The eggs were nasty and dry while the bacon shavings were mainly white in color and cooked just enough so it was not raw. read more

I had a work assignment up in York very early in the morning and decided to crash at La Quinta the night before instead of driving from DC to York at 4am. I love that (most) La Quinta Inn & Suites have a pet-friendly policy. I just had to sign the pet policy agreement which outlines all of the rules for having a pet in your room. They also gave us a room on the end of a row so that we were away from other guests (in the event of barking I suppose). This particular LQ looked relatively new and/or recently renovated. Everything felt very clean and modern which I appreciated. Definitely felt like a good value for the price. The only downsides were that the in-room fridge made terrible grinding noises so we had to unplug it (don't worry--we plugged it back in before leaving). The bed and pillow quality wasn't our favorite either. That being said, I still think it's a great value and I'd stay here again if in York. read more

We stayed here during the week, so mostly quiet. Yari is a gem at the front desk. While first impressions leave you feeling this place is clean and fairly new, don't look at the rugs or chairs. They are filthy and could use a good cleaning. I'm talking about the rugs in the lobby and the chair in our room. Stains. Disgusting. This is a pet friendly hotel, which we knew, so could be part of the issue. I requested a room at the end of the hall and, again, got one in the middle of the hall. Not sure why this is so hard to accommodate given there was virtually no one staying here! Very frustrating. I would probably try this place again, given the rate. read more

We booked two rooms for an overnight stay. We were hoping to have adjoining rooms but could not even have 2 rooms next to each other. Ok no problem but then one of our kids found a bed bug on their pillow. We asked for another room, which they were able to accommodate. The next morning we went down for coffee and they provided bag breakfast due to covid 19 restrictions. I suppose all around it wasn't terrible. I might consider staying somewhere else next time or atleast check the bedding before settling in. read more

The location of the hotel makes it a bit tricky even with GPS directions. Entering the lobby,the ambiance is modern and pleasantly updated. Which is truly unfortunate because our check in was delayed due to their systems being down. Upon entering our suite, immediately we were meet with an strong chemical odor. In addition there were no toothbrushes, shower caps, or small toiletries available. This hotel has the potential to be a four star hotel but with all that went wrong and the items being unavailable, this visit only merited a three star. read more

We came down to the lobby early to get late check out, but apparently that was WAY too much to ask. The "front office manager" was super rude about it and threatened to "knock out" someone who booked 5 rooms at this La Quinta. Honestly the only reason this place gets one star is because that's the only way I could put this review on. I can't believe that Wyndham York owns this hotel! You may ask why? Well... because the Wyndham Garden York is a five-star hotel compared to the La Quinta for the same price per night. Disgusting would be putting it mildly. The shower and bathroom could not have been cleaned as there was toothpaste and spit remnants on the mirror and faucet, hairs in the shower and sink... curlies in the towels, and the wash clothes?? supposedly white, Look like somebody worked on a car prior to using them. I'm not sure where they get their linens laundered but they're not doing a very good job either. Oh... and after a long day on the road, most people would like to relax and finally be able to go to the bathroom right?? Imagine popping a squat only to find 3 squares on the roll and no extra rolls of TP! Thankfully there was a plethora of tissues! Good job on the tissue supply La Quinta! So you'd think that the gent at the desk would be sympathetic and helpful right? Not a chance... perhaps the 3rd floor isn't given the same attention as the 1st or 2nd... perhaps the staff just don't care anymore as it seems the only folks staying there are long term residents who don't seem to care about their own personal hygiene let alone a hotel room, at least those on the 3rd floor that is... Imagine crawling into bed exhausted from the day, pressing your head and face into the pillow only to breath in the smell of dank ass, sweat, and drool... I booked the room for a week when I checked in but cancelled the very next morning and will never attempt to stay at a La Quinta again. The Wyndham Garden York is you're best bet... just stayed there for the weekend for a local hockey tournament. this location is a new build (about 9 months old) and it is very nicely appointed. staff was wonderful; huge shout out to Dakara Williams at the front desk who helped me prior to reservation as well as during my stay. when my son accidentally left his jersey in the closet in our room after we checked out, she made sure to locate it and have it available for pick up in about 20 minutes. would highly recommend this location if you are in the area and there's a lot of shopping/dining options in the immediate area. the ONLY downfall is they need to upgrade their breakfast offerings to more than just waffles, cereal, muffins and bagels - really need to add breakfast meats that they have the facilities for. otherwise I would highly recommend this location. read more

I do not recommend this hotel unless you are in a real pinch. We stayed Sat. Nov. 4,2017 All of the staff was very nice and helpful. But The lobby smelled terrible of bed chemicals. The hallways were too cold. The king size bed rooms too expensive. We booked a room with 2 queen beds for $120. The hotel is new. The Decore in the rooms is ugly and tacky. Went to sleep about 11 or midnight. on the 3 Rd floor near the end. Was woken up by yelling running young men 5 different times. The next am the hot tub was lukewarm at best. Will never stay in this or any relative hotel again. We visited York to celebrate my son's bday, ya know......hit up Marietta for fishing, and take a quick helicopter ride.........and stay locally for the day and take in the sites, so we can get it all done! We love visiting for the day annually, because the town is soooo friendly and welcoming. Well um, La Quinta will never be part of our weekend trip again. I booked online, thru a travel site. The room I chose, and the room I stayed in were completely different. When I inquired about this, I was basically told not to book thru a travel site again, because they don't have to honor what you pay for, at the actual hotel. Great customer service so far (Right?), and this is just the first hour. Ok, lessoned learned, I'll move on. Right? Nope, only to wake up the next morning, in need of extra towels. With a defeated feeling already, I call the front desk; only to be told (by a male attendant) to come TO the front desk to pick up the towels. Ok, whatevs. ONLY to get down there to find NO TOWELS? Another hotel employee (very sweet lady, asks if I wanted to wait, or if I'd like to receive the towels in my room)? I looked at her, puzzled because that was my initial request (to have them sent to my room). Only for the other attendant (that initially answered the phone) tell me to take wash cloths that he waved in my face (just take it), I'll bring the towels to your room. Customer service much? (Using my husbands email) My husband and I traveled all the way from South Carolina for a business trip. For the most part, we were pleased with everything, except for one thing. I made my reservations through Orbitz, which I will never do again. The night that we were to originally arrive, there was no way that we were going to make it. It was the Saturday after Thanksgiving, traffic was horrendous, we had left SC early that morning, and at 6pm, we were just in Doswell, VA. We were tired, our dogs were tired and hungry, so we stopped. I called the hotel in PA, asked if we could cancel that night because we was not going to make it and told them the situation. They said I had to call Orbitz. I did, the lady at Orbitz asked what was going on, and I explained what was going on. She was very nice, and said she was going to call the hotel for me. She did, got the cancellation approved, then told me everything was good, I'd be checking in Sunday and my reservations were the same. I check my bank statement, and the full amount is there. I understand it has to process, and the charge can or cannot drop off. Naturally, a person is going to be concerned and want to ask. So, I call the front desk and I ask about it. I was polite, I always try to be. The girl who answered was like, "Well, ummm, are you even aware that we DO have a 24 hour cancellation policy, and you didn't even reserve through us anyway and..." So, I just hung up and went down to the desk. This girl, and the Assistant General Manager, Lillian Ortiz, literally stood there and insulted me to my face. Held up the sign about the cancellation policy in my face, and was like, "Did you even bother to read this? Can you read it? I don't care what was going on, we have a 24 hour cancellation policy, but the fact is, you booked through (they said Expedia) and even THEY have rules about cancelling your reservation, surely you can read that!" I told them that I completely understood ALL of the rules and regulations, but it was out of our control about arriving Saturday night, and I did call Orbitz, and it was cancelled, and I was not to be charged, that's all I wanted to know, is just to make sure that I wasn't going to be. Lillian Ortiz's response..."Well, lucky for you, you're not going to be, but had I been here, I guarantee you would be paying for it!" What kind of manager talks to their customers like that??? I have no other complaints but this. The hotel was amazingly clean. Our room was beautiful, spacious, very comfortable, clean. The front desk clerk, Amanda, who checked us in was so nice, and greeted us with such a warm welcome. Told us if we wanted to know where anything was she would help us, if we wanted take-out or delivery, ask her and she would tell us what the best restaurants were. I just don't understand how people can be so rude, and honestly, because of Lillian Ortiz, just that one incident, if we have to travel to the area again, I'm not sure we'll stay here again. I gave this place a 4 star ONLY because I'm so impressed with the hotel itself. Give it, the rest of the staff that I've spoken too are really nice, but Lillian has ruined it for everyone. read more
