This hotel is a little different from the places we usually stay, but we wanted something close to the beach. We were really pleased with this place. All of the rooms are on the second and third floor, as the hotel, except for the reception area, is built over the parking lot. It's kind of a combined indoor outdoor place, because the center is open air and then you walk into hallways. The pool and hot tub are on the second floor and the breakfast room is on the third floor. One of the best things about this place was the location, just around the corner from Main Street Seal Beach where we tend to spend a lot of time. Oh, and the chocolate chip cookies they put out in the evening is a great touch. The entire hotel is blue and white themed, which seems pretty common for Beach area hotel/motels. I really liked that there was a very long desk/counter along one wall, which we never get when we stay and our normal Hiltons. There was so much room for everything. We had an Arcadia door with a balcony that had two chairs and a table. The weather was perfect for sitting out. The fridge in the room was really cold. The beds were super comfortable. With breakfast is basic but fine. Each morning they had a hot egg dish, a potato dish, and a meat dish. It was also the waffle maker with batter, muffins, bread, bagels, cold cereal with milk, boiled eggs, and yogurt. One morning they had a full of perfectly ripe avocados for your toast. Of course there's juice and coffee. One nice touch is that they had plastic to-go containers so you can take food up to your room. You had a very enjoyable stay here, and when we want to stay in Seal Beach again we will come back here. So glad I found this great place so close to the beach and restaurants near Ballast Point, literally like 4 minutes away. Made the reservation over the phone and the lady who helped me was so great and helpful. She managed to find the room I was just looking for. Once there, checking in was super easy and fast. There's also someone in the lobby all night in case something is needed. All the staff are super friendly and attentive. Room was super clean and spacious. The jacuzzi in the room worked perfectly and they have a pool and a jacuzzi outside as well. I really recommend this place in you're in the area. So easy and convenient. read more

We stayed the night here right before our cruise. We were looking for a place with a shuttle to Carnival. They have it at an extra charge. It's close to Seal Beach with cute shops and restaurants nearby. They also have an indoor pool and hot tub. The breakfast is also a plus. This is a great hidden gem! When you walk into the lobby, you get an instant small town charm feeling. The lobby is decorated with large ocean fish and has a nice small sitting area. The coffee station area is amazing - I haven't seen anything this neat at other hotels. It has a unique coffee machine that even makes cold brew. There is also a pellet ice machine on the counter. The hotel is very nice and offers many extra! The coffee station, cookies, Pool, and close to Main Street. I traveled for work, I'll chose this hotel again if I get the chance. read more

Pacific Inn: Seal Beach Gem with Tiny Pillows, Big Vibes We stayed at the Pacific Inn in Seal Beach for two nights, and let me tell you--it's a solid choice. Check-in is a little late, but they were super nice and upgraded us since we arrived early and waited for our room to be ready. Plus, they were sprucing up the place with fresh paint on the walls and doors, which was nice to see. It's always good to know they're keeping things fresh! Location-wise, it's smack in the middle of Seal Beach. While it's not right on Main Street like the pictures suggest, it's close enough that you can either walk or drive, depending on your mood (or how many tacos you want from the Taco Bell across the street). Speaking of Taco Bell and McDonald's--yes, they're both right there, but you'll probably need your car for the drive-thru at night. The rooms? Decent size, clean, and they all surround the pool on the inside of the second floor, which gives it a cool courtyard vibe. You can keep an eye on the pool or jacuzzi action right from your room door! The cute balcony overlooks the green belt and parking lot, too. There were a few homeless people around, but it never felt unsafe. The beds were... okay. Not the worst, but the tiny pillows! I don't know where they found these couch-sized pillows, but I felt like a giant using a doll's pillow. Honestly, my only complaint was the pillow situation--if they upgrade those, it'd be a dream. The pricing? Pretty good for Southern California. It's tough to find a deal in this area, and for what you get--clean, comfy, and dog-friendly--it's solid. The customer service? Top-notch. Friendly, helpful, and the little store at the front was priced right. Everything was maybe 50 cents more than regular store prices, which is basically a bargain in hotel-land. The pool and jacuzzi area? Clean, fun, and just what we needed after a day of exploring. And breakfast? Simple but tasty, and the whole setup was super clean. Would I come back? Oh, for sure! I travelled to Long Beach for a conference and had to book a hotel last minute. The Pacific Inn was within the government rate, so though it was far from the convention center, we booked it and hoped for the best. I'm happy to say that I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and the rooms. When I checked in, there was a slight miscommunication, so I was upgraded to a suite (totally unnecessary but much appreciated!). The staff were all very kind. The floor plan can be somewhat confusing, but all the maps and signage helped. The suite was super nice--kitchenette, living room, bedroom, bathroom with full shower, jacuzzi tub, and three balconies throughout the suite. I think the best part of all is the room and the property were all super clean. This was a welcomed observation since I would end up spending 4 nights there during my time at the conference. I'm having a hard time writing this review. Let me just say, the staff is worth 5 stars! Everyone was so nice and helpful and accommodating. If anything, they went above and beyond my expectations. My rating is based on our room. I knew going in this hotel seemed average going in, but if it's clean, comfortable and safe, I don't mind. The common areas need a refresh and the hot tub looks like an oversized tub. Breakfast was average, but I like free juice and waffles. The parking is underground and you do get a parking pass. There is also off street parking next to the hotel. Location is everything about this place. Lots of food options! You are a half mile walking distance from the Marina to go to Ballast Point. You're a block away from Main Street and if you keep going, you're at Seal Beach. If you're really lazy, they have a shuttle available. I always forget something and CVS is across the street on PCH. The room is the reason for my rating. The room we were given smelled pretty bad. It turned out the previous guest smoked like a chimney. They went as far to cover the smoke alarm in plastic (I wished I took a picture). I know housekeeping tried to clean it by fumigating it, but at some point the chemicals resembled a natural gas smell. We alerted the staff late, but the hotel was too full to switch rooms and we'd have to switch again on the one room that was available, so we toughed it out. The bad thing about the cigarette smoke was it was wreaking havoc with my lungs all weekend (I was so happy to be close to ocean air), the smell stuck our jackets because we hung them on the clothing hooks. In the back of my mind, if they couldn't find another room for us the next day, I would have had to switch hotels or consider an AirBnb. Fortunately, they were able to find a new room for us and even called us to let us know. When we went to switch rooms, the smell was noticeably different. Again, I don't blame it on the staff. Four stars is dead on for this sweet little inn. Centrally located to all of the fun to be had in Seal Beach with a motel feel but with the comfort of a hotel. Does that make sense? Well, it does to me. Leave me alone. I'll keep this simple and discuss the main thing that most people care about when it comes to lodging, the rooms. They're nice, they're tidy, the linens don't feel cheap, there's a microwave in the room and the curtains are heavy enough to allow you sleep off the hangover from the night before. Be sure to purchase some snacks from the lobby and take advantage of the nifty coffee machine that serves you high-tech, complimentary coffee, tea, iced tea and hot chocolate. This little gem is conveniently located just steps away from one of California last surviving original surf side downtowns that hasn't gone through an over development to strip away the bygone era charm. As you stroll the main street of Seal Beach,Ca you can almost hear Dick Dales surf guitar playing in your head while the modern day Moon Doggy and Gidget walk with surf board in hand ready to shoot the pier on a Epic wave ride! As you walk along the pier you suddenly feel like you're in an episode of Baywatch! Make sure you grab yourself a sweet treat at Sweet Jill's on your way back to the hotel to eat with the complementary coffee readily available 24 hours in the lobby. The rooms and pool was excellent fun was had by the entire family. The only thing that stopped me from giving this a 5 star was the breakfast. It was 2 out of 5. But you need not worry if you walk back down main street to Nike's deli. You can get the original Breakfast Burrito that they been making for Surfers since the 1950's. Basically they started the trend and have been doing Breakfast Burrito's before they ever became a staple in the hipster California culture. If you have kids and burrito's aren't your cup of tea then you're in luck because McDonalds is across the street. Lastly make sure you check out the Pacific ELECTRIC Red Car still sitting on the original tracks they once traverse daily back in the 1940s! This hotel may not be the Ritz Carlton but then again the hotel doesn't make the experience. It's the things around it that make it. So get out enjoy live your best life. read more

I stayed over for Labor day weekend and the Pacific Inn staff did great overall. .. Pacific Inn Check In & Lobby: This is an older locally owned hotel with renovations to provide for a more modern look. The Pacific Inn is definitely aging well. The lobby was smaller in size but clean and spacious. The front desk staff was very friendly and pleasant throughout the visit. They had beach towels to purchase for $10 in case you forgot to pack one like we did. Pacific Inn Rooms: We had a queen suite with a balcony which provided a view of the park behind the hotel. Our room was freshly remodeled as the new paint gave the room a nice look. The bed sheets and pillows were comfortable and I slept well. The old school air conditioner on the floor worked well and kept the temperature in check. The bathroom remodel was evident with the new tiles an sliding doors. Well done. Miscellaneous: The location is primo as you can Main street is 10 minute walk away and there's plenty of locally owned restaurants, coffee shops, stores, etc to explore through. At the end of Main street is Seal Beach where you can check out the pier or be a beach bum all day. The only odd thing during our stay was that housekeeping never cleaned our room throughout our 4 night stay. We left the room around 11 am daily so I'm not sure what to think. However, what i really appreciated was how the hotel checked on us via text message throughout our stay. We requested some fresh towels and they were waiting in our room once we returned. Overall, I'll definitely consider staying at the Pacific Inn again. The rate was reasonable and the location was fantastic. Stayed over a weekend here recently and it is okay to just average at best, but not a 4 star facility as rated, by my books at all on many levels. Its location its only real advantage but not even at the price. Room was underwhelming for the price, honestly a let down after staying two nights and all of the four and five star reviews makes me wonder what the hell? Two queen beds in a small room, as I was traveling with my service dog and needed a little extra space I thought, it was not there. The bathroom okay but very basic and most annoying, the shower glass door did not close all the way no matter what you tried (and I tried) so water leaked all on the floor, and it was obvious by the water damaged baseboards it had been like that a while? The bed was extremely firm and I woke up both mornings with a sore back. Street noise was ridiculous at times at night, with the balcony literally straight across from the mcdonalds and taco bell parking lots and drive thrus - noisy is an understatement. Combined with a sore back, lack of restful sleep because of all the street noise, and loud people above my room and then at over $600 bucks for two nights? The location did not wash all that away. Anyways, free parking and a close proximity to the shops and restaurants might be worth it to you - it was not to me 2.5 Stars - rounded up instead of down for the kind staff - just an average hotel with issues though. We enjoyed our stay immensely and the staff we interacted with were extremely helpful. We booked the room through a third party (never again), and when our cruise got canceled (Thank you, Carnival), we needed to adjust our itinerary. We were originally scheduled to stay at The Pacific Inn upon our return and now needed to move this date if possible. We called and MJ was so kind and helpful finding us a date with an available room. Then we reached out to Algotels and let them know that there was availability, the date, and that they (Pacific Inn) was amenable to the change. They (Algotels) gave us some corporate run around, but Tara and Samantha (Pacific Inn) were both very helpful and offered a few alternatives if we kept having an issue with the third party service (Algotels). Algotels eventually approved the change and we had a pleasant stay. We would definitely recommend this property to others in the future. Your staff should be commended for their customer service, in the world today this is what makes or breaks an experience. Plus... Seal Beach, a short and lovely walk to a sparkling sand beach. read more

We booked a last minute trip to the area to celebrate a friends birthday and our first wedding anniversary. To be honest, I was not sure about staying here. I read the reviews and was just hesitant, mostly since it wasn't a chain. I did the online check in and mentioned us celebrating our anniversary. When we we arrived, we were given an upgrade to an executive king room which had been recently renovated. We walked to our room and were nicely surprised to see were were in the back of the hotel that overlooked a little park area. I think this side probably had the best view as the front overlooks a McDonald's/Taco bell drive through. Our room was perfect. We had a little kitchenette area with a fridge, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, mini fridge and sink. We were only staying the night but it was nice to have a place to leave a few drinks to chill. The bathroom was bright, clean and filled with Bath and Bodyworks toiletries. Even the walk in shower had nice water pressure which is always hit and miss at hotels it seems. Our room had a good size TV, a pullout couch, and one of the most comfiest computer chairs. I enjoyed the little private balcony out back. I am pretty picky on hotel beds and found this mattress to be nice and firm with the just the right amount of squish. We slept great and the next morning investigated all of the breakfast foods before heading out to explore Seal Beach. The had a nice selection of eggs, sausages, breakfast potatoes, muffins, cereals and even a waffle maker. We had a great stay and enjoyed a cup of fresh ground coffee from the Lobby coffee machine before we left. I think this hotel would be the perfect place to stay if you are visiting the area. I believe they even have a shuttle to take you to the airport. Pleasantly surprised and looking forward to visiting again. read more

Yelling, screaming, banging on doors/walls with their fists, banging the lacrosse sticks. Plus I had a connecting door to them. It was chaos!! So rude to allow a group of 20+ kids act like that. The Pacific Inn - Need a break... - Hotels Near Me - Seal Beach, California

We came for a desperately needed Covid getaway. This is a very charming place and I was able to get a deal on Hotwire ($109 a night) AND I could bring my little dog... so we were excited about staying here. And most things were really good! The rating is lower really because of one very negative factor... this place has the worst showers I have ever encountered in a hotel. And I stay in a LOT of hotels. I mean, this will turn you against showering... Staff is friendly. There is ample parking (some spaces a little tight so if you have a larger car, it may require some skills). The location is excellent... you can walk to the beach if you'd like. Early check-in was a breeze and they didn't even charge us for it. They take Covid protocols seriously. And they're still doing a semblance of a free breakfast - although with mostly packaged foods... still it's nice that they're trying. They also have a relaxing pool and hot tub area in the center of the hotel with some good seating options so you can really chill out. When we were there, you needed to make a reservation to use the pool or hot tub in order to ensure social distancing and capacity rules. The rooms are OK. The bed looks super lumpy and beat but it was actually comfortable. Weirdly, you cannot use the electrical outlets near the desk area UNLESS you turn on the light switch as soon as you enter the room... Of course, no one told us that so my computer died while I thought it was charging. We had to call for help and the gentleman at the front desk knew immediately what the problem was... probably a sign or placard (or a re-wire!) is in order. The bathroom itself looks good but is really a mess of a design. The sink is way too high and too far from the edge of the counter - and I'm not short. When attempting to wash your face, there is almost no way to avoid a mess. Just bad design. But WORSE - that shower! It's a DEEP stall type shower with a big step up to enter (there is a warning sign about this). There is NO PLACE to place anything to use during your shower... not even soap as I recall. What really makes this a miserable experience is that the stall is SO deep you cannot adjust the water without going inside and under the showerhead... so you will either freeze yourself or burn yourself. AND also because the stall is so deep and the water stream isn't that strong, you will be freezing as you're basically standing in a long tiled tunnel with a small stream of water... such an uncomfortable experience I decided to NOT shower the last morning and just wait until I got home... it was THAT unpleasant. But besides the awful bathroom design, we did enjoy this hotel for the most part. It was a relatively inexpensive getaway in a cute little beach town. I really would just hesitate to go back because of those showers - that's how much I hated them. read more

We were coming to the Long Beach area for a family event and after looking at a couple of chain hotels- we found the Pacific Inn. Most of the reviews were very positive so we booked it and I am glad we did. It's definitely nothing fancy, but staff was friendly, rooms were very clean, bed was quite comfortable and location was perfect! We never took the car out of the garage for two days- we walked to the beach and to food which was all less than 1/2 mile away. If you can't walk- the hotel has a shuttle that will take you within like 5 miles of the hotel. I would def stay here again. Oh yeah- the price was less than the chain hotels. read more

Maddie and Willie were fantastic! The facility is fine, and we appreciated the cruise package that included parking for our vehicle during our cruise. It just made the choice easy for us and let us get on with planning our excursions. But the real joy was the kind, patient service that we got from Willie and the happy energy that Maddie brought to the conversations. I'm very content with my stay. The front desk was kind and Selina was exceptionally helpful. The room is large, it was clean and relaxing. Good seating choices with a loveseat and office chair. The bed was super comfy and I got a great night's sleep as it was quiet as well. There was a good size mini frig, microwave and a Keurig, even the standard room coffee was decent. Breakfast was very good with fluffy scrambled eggs, potatoes and kielbasa, plus lots of other choices with waffles, pastries and cereals. The cleaning staff is also considerate, I was walking down the hall (with my cane) and the cleaning lady quickly moved her cart (with a gracious smile) which made it easier to pass. Great location, amazing service and clean rooms. Stayed here prior to a Carnival Cruise. They offer transport for $60 for 7 people which is an excellent price. Just down the street walking distance are excellent restaurants like BoatHouse on the Bay and then in the other direction on Seal Beach with plenty of dining and shopping choices. As I mentioned the service was excellent which is the main reason why I would return. Got a call prior to staying. Also a text the same day prior to arrival. You can check-in early for an extra fee and they let us leave our baggage at the desk for free while we waited for our room. Decent coffee and breakfast included. Pool was a little smaller than it looked on line and we had this really interesting view of a car repair shop in the back. Jetted tubs in the bathrooms. Comfy beds. read more

Enjoyed two nights there after a Disneyland visit. Room was spacious and clean. Very pleasant staff throughout the inn. Ari was great at helping us get an early check in, which was crucial with our small children. The pool was perfect size for our children to play in safely. It was wonderful! The Inn is conveniently located a few (several) blocks from the beach (Seal Beach Pier) but not so far our children couldn't walk (6 and 10). It was an easy walk - through a park and down Main Street. The Inn also provided a couple of beach chairs and sand toys for the children! That was really great. Also the Inn provides a continental breakfast - when we were there they had passion orange juice (yum). I would recommend this place if you need accommodations at Seal Beach. read more

The toilet barely flushes even if you're doing a number 1 plus it's leaking all over the floor!! There's people running up and down the halls and slamming doors. Walls are super thin. I'm not sure how they got their rating but this is one of the worst hotels we've stayed at. Shower is a decent size. The only good thing is that they have a microwave and fridge. Would not stay here again. Pros- convenient location to walk to downtown Seal Beach. Staff are friendly enough. Rooms have A/C, mini fridge and microwave. Cons-motel fronts a busy road and our room overlooked the McDonalds and Taco Bell. A motel on par with a holiday inn express, but overpriced. Indoor pool is noisy with kids yelling and guests blaring music poolside at 8am. A dog friendly motel comes with a lot of barking dogs. Continental breakfast is nothing exciting. Offered until 10am, and the second morning there they ran out of most food by 9:30am and didn't restock. Doors close firmly at 10am for food. Asked for a late check out and they kindly offered 2 hours for a $33/fee. Motel has been a little updated but is still worn down, feels dirty, and rooms do not smell pleasant. Guests have to request housekeeping service 24 hours in advance. It's definitely not worth the price. With family living in Seal Beach, I will be back to the area frequently, but will not bother staying here again. read more
