Not the case ) but besides that it was great. Kristin B was our hostess/waitress. She was great. Then we went to the bonfire we reserved. We were greater by Ray the host of the bonfire what a great guy. Great representation of the company. The manger stoped by to bring me my debit card I left at the pool. Didn't get her name but Thank You Very Much !!!!! But this all started with an easy valet arrival and Itzel who checked us in. She was great. Showed us on the map where are room was and had us checked in seconds. We will be back soon. Love this whole set up. Cheers to team Hyatt Huntington Beach crew !!!!!

When Spring Break calls…read more.... You certainly don't ignore it. You definitely don't reject it. And if you just happen to miss the call... You most certainly better call it back! My advice: Just pick up the phone. Well on April 7th, 2026 Spring Break hit me up and told me that Spring Break was definitely on and Huntington Beach was the place to be. Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa enters the chat. ------------------------------------- Being that it was Spring break for the kids, we wanted to give them some much needed rest from school and what better way than a little fun in the sun poolside. So we put our earned Hyatt points to work and took a 3 day escape to H.B. The Parking Sitch: Of course we did our research on the hotel prior to our trip and saw that valet parking was $60 per night!! So my wife did some further research and saw that the Hyatt contracts with the H.B. Beach parking lot which is offsite and is located directly across from the resort for a lesser overnight fee (please note that it is a bit of a walk, so I highly recommended dropping the luggage and your family at the front entrance prior to making your way to the beach parking lot). There is a bridge that connects from the beach parking lot right to the hotel property. The lay of the land: This is a resort style hotel so the place is huge and it literally takes up a whole city block. Of course, there are resort style pools, hot tubs, restaurants, a spa and other resort amenities to make your getaway enjoyable. Things to do: When you are not soaking up the sun poolside or taking a dip into the pool, there are many walkable places down PCH with local eateries, shops and of course the beach! The stay: The rooms were decent, nothing special, but also nothing bad to report. The property itself is very large, we spent most of our time at the pool or chillen in our room. Overall, it was a nice getaway and we always enjoy our stay with Hyatt. So.... What's the plan for Spring Break 2027!?

The staff were super friendly and helpful. They do have complementary dog beds that are huge and comfortable, they also have pack N plays for your little ones and also offer microwaves upon request. They have 2 pools, one with the slides and a beach entry pool. The other with a regular pool and different activities for the whole family to play with (ping pong table, giant chess, giant connect four) we only went to the one with the slide and our kids (ages 2- 10) loved it! We went closer to sundown but the water was warm so it felt nice. They have staff at almost all entrances checking for your wrist band to make sure you're staying there. There's access to the beach from both pools. It's a short walk to the crosswalk and you're there! They also have complementary wagons, beach chairs and you can take the towels with you and just return them when you get back! Makes it so easy to go! They do have a bar at the pool with the slides, we loved everything we got. My pool wrist band ended up getting too tight so I went to the front desk and they cut it off for me and gave me a new one. Again they were super friendly about that and even asked if we needed more water or anything. The cleanliness of the resort was top tier. It was walking distance from restaurants and the pier so we all had a lovely overall experience. Will definitely be back!

Listen here Americans, this is a hard review to make…read more Standard king room, the bed is hard as a rock, the pillows are so soft your head lays on the hard bed. The only reason I will never recommend this place is how bad the mattress and pillows are. Myself, my female partner are sore at the hips from this bed. As side sleepers, it is the hardest mattress I've experienced in some time, probably the same as a motel 6. The mattress is seriously as hard as the floor, the pillows are worthless. The nights I stayed, I used a couch cushion as a pillow because the ones they give you are worthless. I balled up 2 pillows and it still didn't support my head. The bed is like sleeping on a floor. My hips are hurting today from the poor mattress... the pullout bed has a metal bar that runs through it. So if you think that's a better idea you're wrong. I stayed 2 nights, standard king room, 10th floor. And I and partner barely slept because of discomfort. Not to mention the doors slam. So any time someone leaves the room in the hallway, you can hear it or watch your walls. Be prepared for loud slamming noises all night and early in the morning as people come and go. Oh, and we ordered 2 orders of chicken strips and French fries at 9:45pm. The room service arrived at 10:30 and they brought one order. I asked where the second order was. The room service guy say "you must have made a mistake and ordered only one" I showed him the receipt, two orders, 12$ each...he only brought one and only charged for one... he then said "well you're the last order of the night, I can make more if you want?" I said "no, it took you 45 minutes to bring this one, and you only brought half of what we asked" I can't wait until 1am for chicken strips and French fries. overall great location, 90% of the employees are great. The mattress is the sole reason I cannot tell my family members to stay here I see lots of posts about the pool experience so I will address. The pool with the slide is heated. The pool that was told is adults only was much colder, and... to no surprise is filled with kids and families too. We did both pools. So my wife wanted time away from our kids and went to the small adult pool first, and it was filled with unsupervised kids snorkeling (no lifeguard) and drunk adults celebrating a wedding. We chatted with the adults and they were drunk and laughed with us that "this is suppose to be the adults pool" and the women felt uncomfortable in revealing thong type bathing suits, drinking alcohol, around kids. The kids pool with the slide is also ridiculous because people show up early. Lay out towels and hog all the chairs. So when we went down, every chair was taken but like 25 people were in the pool. We found one chair, ONE CHAIR, that was not covered with a blue towel, for us to take turns sitting in. Keep in mind, there were more chairs than people in the pool. No one policed this area and allowed other guests to lay out there stuff, hog and steal all the chairs, more than they needed. A standard couple like us was left out and treated like trash because of the hotel not doing their job. One guy will lay out 10 towels across all the chairs and they won't even use them. So go to the adult pool? Yeah it's filled with kids too. Cannot recommend this place as much potential it has because the mattress and pillows are that bad. I can handle the small stuff like screwing up a room service or jerks taking more chairs than they need. I cannot get over the bed and the lasting discomfort it has given me and my wife. The best thing I can compare this sleep situation to, is remember being a kid, having a sleep over at a friends house? And you sleep on the floor with a crappy sheet and pillow? Yea, it's like that. Honestly, if I was 15 years old and played at the beach all day it's fine. But I'm an adult and not at a sleepover on the floor of my friends house... and paid over 1000$ FOOD: Is another question asked and posted about. Room service, the pool bar, the beach bar the hotel restaurant is all the same menus, (except Henry's which serves straight appetizers). So hopefully you like Cabo Wabo The secret play is order food delivered to your room from a 3rd party. You will get better quality, for less money. And then you tip that driver extra for coming to your room. Cabo wabo is average, expensive. Just 3rd party delivery the food. They will meet you at the valet and hand it off. Lots of guests do this all the time. We learned about it on the second day, so many people are just out there waiting for food delivery

We've stayed in this type of room before. The room itself was fine & the bed was comfy, but the decor & furniture was exactly the same as it was ten years ago, and it's looking a bit rundown. My bedside table had chips in it, and I noticed other scuffs here and there as well. The vent was very dirty and hard to miss. There was only one chair on the balcony which meant that we had to bring out the desk chair so we could sit outside. Kind of annoying. The a/c worked really well though & my dog loved the room, so yay for that. As someone who brings her dog with her just about everywhere, the Kimpton has been a solidly consistent place to stay in Huntington Beach because dogs are welcome and they do not charge a pet fee. I've stayed at this property a handful of times over the last decade but I have noticed a decline in the overall experience in addition to what I noted about the room. The Kimpton charges a $45 night resort fee that includes bikes, umbrellas, beach chairs, coffee & tea, happy hour, & s'mores which is what many properties are doing nowadays, but in order to get your money's worth you have to make an effort to hang around the property to make sure you're there at the right time & have time to partake in each amenity. New to us this time was the record player in the room, and records in the lobby that you could borrow. We had a Pretenders record in our room which was cool. Oh they also have yoga on Sundays at 9 which I would have loved to attend, but I was back home by then. We partook in the coffee, s'mores & we borrowed an umbrella - so I'd say that $45 was a bit much for that. The property has a nice courtyard with three fire pits & a ping pong table which is fun. We didn't eat at the hotel aside from the chips in the room, but Pacific Hideaway was decent enough the last time we stayed. We also didn't valet park for $45/ night & instead we just parked for free on the residential streets & had no issues. I think what I missed the most during this visit was the really stellar customer service that I received during previous stays. Everyone I interacted with this time was fine, but the service was mostly perfunctory & nothing special. In the past, I felt so warmly welcomed & the folks would make a big deal about my dog & just generally make us feel a little special. This time there was none of that. I think the staff used to take a Polaroid of the dogs staying in the hotel at any given time as well, but no such picture was taken. It's not really a huge deal, but it's the little touches that make you want to come back to a place, and those little touches were missing this time. I'm not saying that I won't be back because this hotel is in a great location and it's upbeat and fun, but I wish they'd reinvigorate their customer service so that long time customers like myself really have a reason to come back instead of staying elsewhere in the area. Mahalo.

Unfortunately, my experience at this hotel was far below what I expected…read more The problems started as soon as we arrived. We were given a room with an unmade, dirty bed, as if it had never been cleaned after the previous guest. They immediately moved us to another room, but it was a terrible first impression. On top of that, the overall cleanliness left a lot to be desired, the carpet looked visibly dirty, and there was hair in the shower. The worst part of our stay happened at the pool area. We asked if they could open the bar windows so we could watch a World Cup match. The waitress who helped us was incredibly kind. Once she realized we only wanted to use a TV for the duration of the game, she offered us a cabana, and we agreed to pay $100 for it. She was friendly and welcoming throughout the entire interaction. Halfway through the match, however, Anna, the restaurant manager, approached us accompanied by another staff member and demanded that we leave the cabana immediately because, according to her, it had been reserved. What made the situation even more confusing was that 3 out of the 5 cabanas were sitting empty at that moment. The issue wasn't just the lack of communication between the staff, it was the way Anna handled the situation. She was rude, confrontational, and unprofessional, making us feel as though we had done something wrong when we had simply accepted an offer made by a member of her own team. She even threatened to call security when we tried to explain what had happened. Eventually, the hotel manager stepped in, listened to both sides, and allowed us to remain in the cabana at no additional charge. I appreciate that he resolved the situation, but by then the damage had already been done. As soon as the match ended, the only thing I wanted to do was leave. What should have been a relaxing afternoon had been completely ruined. It's unfortunate that the attitude of one person was enough to ruin what had otherwise been a pleasant experience. Between being given a room that wasn't properly prepared, the poor cleanliness, and the unprofessional treatment we received, it's very difficult for me to recommend this hotel.

He always has the biggest smile, a positive attitude, and goes above and beyond to make us feel welcome. He truly makes you feel like a valued guest instead of just another reservation. Hospitality like his is hard to find these days, and it deserves to be recognized.
