I want to first start off by saying that I wanted to love this place, and while I can't say I loved it, I would be willing to stay here again with the expectations that I already have in mind. We make bi-annual trips to the bay and one of those bi-annual trips is usually over the holidays, and requires the need for a full kitchen and preference for a separate bedroom suite type of room. This hotel is down the street from another hotel we usually book to meet these needs, and we decided to try this hotel for a shorter trip just to see if we will like it for the longer stay trip since this hotel is cheaper. We stayed two nights, and only experienced breakfast once as we needed to leave before breakfast time on the day of check out. At check in, we got there right at 3pm and didn't realize there was only one person checking people in, and that it took well over half an hour to get checked in since there was a sizable line. This isn't anyone's fault but it's just worth noting if you arrive right at check in time it could take awhile to get the room key. I do want to thank the person who checked us in for accommodating our request for a lower level room on the spot as someone within our reservation had a leg injury. In the room, we did notice its overall older amenities that the bedroom to bathroom flooring was worn out where the carpet and tile meet, and the edge of the carpet had nails protruding that could have cut someone's foot if not careful. we placed a washcloth over it and told our kids to walk around the towel. The shower body soap was running low, and we had 4 people listed on our reservation (2 adults and 2 children) so naturally we needed more soap to bathe everyone as well as 2 more towels. The kitchen was a little low on flatware, I would have expected maybe 4 of everything but I saw 3 of everything instead. There was not a baking tray for the oven, which is normally something most places have readily available in the oven drawer. The pull out couch bed that our kids slept on was very much a metal springy mattress, I wouldn't recommend sleeping on this thing more than a few nights. Fortunately my kids were fine on it. I noticed the in room phone did not have an easy way to contact the front desk, so we waited til the next morning before going in person to ask for more things at breakfast time. The Next morning Housekeeping did come and give us a full set of towels but only two bath towels, so we asked specifically for bath towels while they wanted our dirty towels returned on the spot. I didn't have a problem complying, but it felt like pulling teeth to get those two extra towels for the kids. I told them about the soap as well and they mentioned needing to put in a special request which was never done cause we never got a soap refill. Fortunately I did end up shopping during our trip and bought some kids soap. For the one breakfast day we did get to have, the actual food offerings are great and nothing to complain about regarding the actual food served in the buffet. It's important to note though that there are multiple signs saying something along the lines of "No to-go plates, all breakfast and social hour offerings are to be enjoyed in the dining room" this wasn't an issue for us, but I could see it being an issue when all the tables are full when you're not allowed to take a plate back to your room. The juice machine also has a sign saying not to refill more than 20 ounces a person, I found that odd but again it wasn't an issue for us. On our 2nd and final night there were a few things we noticed that didn't directly impact us but could easily impact others: the pool is advertised as heated, and we walked over to check it as the kids wanted to swim. It was slightly above lukewarm temperature which would have been acceptable, but there were also no pool towels available to use despite that I think I saw a pool towel return bin. Given how difficult it was to get extra regular bath towels, we decided not to allow the kids to swim. The guest laundry room was next to the pool and I noticed that literally every machine was out of order with a sign. If I were staying much longer and actually needed those machines I would have been frustrated. After reviewing other Yelp reviews it's clear that I will probably be using the other hotel down the street for our needs during our longer trip to the bay in the future, but as I said at the beginning of this review: I'm willing to stay here again with the expectations I already have to try and give this hotel another chance, possibly for short trips only. Hopefully this review just gives everyone awareness of what to expect for the accommodations as I probably should have read the reviews before I went but then again even if I did read the reviews earlier I may have not taken it seriously to begin with. read more

Booked a stay here for 3 days and have visited the Bay Area many times and have not found a good hotel at all in the past few years we've been coming. It always has some issues from being unsafe, suspicious and obnoxious people, smoking, rooms smelling and etc. The minute we walked in to check in the stage greeted us and took care of us. Especially the young girl in the front thank you so much! But the cherry on top was the general manager Jennifer! By far the sweetest and downest hotel employee I've met. I've stayed at 5 hotels and have not been treated the way she treated us. Thank you for the amazing vibes! If I could give zero stars, I would. Our bed smelled like urine. Pulled the sheets back, and there were large yellow urine stains on the bed. Same thing in the other room. They offered a different room, but same thing there. This hotel is an old apartment complex that was converted to a hotel. Parking is non-existent, and many of the customers, are people 'living' there. Had to end up going to a different hotel after the first night of sleeping on someone's urine. Room, bathroom and kitchen were clean. The carpet and couch in the living look like they need to be shampooed. The couch had a thick grime on it so we covered it with the extra sheets in the closet. The Microwave did not work and we found out it was the breaker, but resetting the breaker cut all power to the kitchen. So we reset all breakers and did not try to use microwave anymore. We had a reservation for two nights. Our first night. We FROZE all night , they said they'd give us an upgrade, a VIP room. However it's the SAME room, just different building. So there was no comp for our horrible night, cold shower and loud room by the loud street. Then there was only two towels in the room. Disappointing. This has been my family's "go to" hotel for years since the days they were called Woodfin Suites. But as Chase, they have gone downhill somewhat. Here's my review of our very recent stay in a two-bedroom suite. Pros: Living room comfortable, fireplace screen and grate might need replacing, kitchen clean, two trash cans instead of one was nice. Cons: TV service SUCKS!! There's a delay, guide is useless, kept getting error message about signal, TV remote in my bedroom had the battery compartment taped over, kitchen cabinets had obvious moisture damage seemingly from the coffee maker steam, cheap silverware. My final complaint is that when we checked out around 9am, I went to get a cup of coffee. There was none! The dispenser was empty. read more

We were staying one night prior to surgery the next morning and needed to arise and shower at 5:00am. Upon check in to the room, we smelled an unpleasant odor. We went out to dinner arriving back at the room around 8:00. My husband attempted to turn on the heater(pump, I think), but it wouldn't work. He contacted the front desk and they promised a worker would be sent to evaluate. Meanwhile, I had to take the first of my pre-surgical showers. All of I could get out of the faucet was scalding hot water. A phone call to the front desk was made again. Finally, a worker showed up but could not guarantee when either might be fixed. It is now approximately 9:30 pm and still unable to shower. We insisted on changing rooms which took another 1/2 hour making it after 10:00 at night. All of our careful planning to get a good nights sleep before surgery was out the window! Since the reservation was made through Chase Travel, we reached out for their assistance for some type of compensation. The hotel refused to offer anything for all of our troubles. I would not recommend this establishment especially if you are in town prior to early morning surgery the next day. read more

I was in Building 2, Pedro noticed I had some blankets with me as well and started accusing me of stealing when they looked nothing like there blankets. I went to front desk to speak with a manager. To add the manager JD handles the issues and called a pest control/fumigation company and confirmed the presence of these insects. Room was quarantined per staff. Staff is courtesy and attentive. To add our second room was a bit better. We did find vape pipes and was really worn out. Owners need to take more responsibility. We plan on a short vacation and are willing to spend our hard earned money. Very unfortunate. They did offer refund and half off the rest of our stay. Nice gesture but still very unpleasant and will never never stay there again. I booked from may 15 to June 12th and at night there is no parking in the parking lot of the hotel so I parked in handicap spot because I have kids and didn't want to park far with a baby. So I get a 370$ ticket for parking there when I've already made comments to the managers having no parking at night. the hotel manager said he couldn't do anything about the ticket but walked up to my car and literally threatened to ticket my car. never will book here again I spent well over 1,000 with them just to turn around and get a ticket for 370$ for something I've been complaint about. read more

We were greeted warmly by reception, Araceli was super helpful in helping us switch rooms and early check-in. Duraflames available to purchase for fireplaces. I used a gift card to pay for room and the person that checked us in said it was ok. Then we used a credit card card for the deposit. Later we found out they charged the room to our credit card. So we already threw away the 150 gift card that was given to us and they charged the room without our permission. Tried to dispute but didn't get our money back. This hotel is not a good place to stay. Got there on Friday last and there was vomit in the parking lot and trash bags that hadn't been cleaned up. One of the beds in my room didn't have a blanket so I went to the front desk to get one. The desk agent told me one would be brought over in a couple of minutes. A half hour later nothing came so I went back to the desk. The agent said that the person with the key to the room with the blankets was missing and she couldn't access it. I asked if she could just take one from a vacant room to give me. She refused. I told her I needed to put my young daughter to bed but she didn't care. I asked to speak to the manager but the desk agent wouldn't let me. In the end I gave my blanket to my daughter and slept with no blanket myself. I spoke to the manager about the issue when checking out but she didn't care either. First she tried to tell me there was a blanket in my room. Then she tried to tell me I booked through Expedia so she can't issue refunds. I had booked it directly on the chase website. The second night there was a big party going on in one of the rooms with some dangerous looking ghetto people. It's unfortunate to see the decline in this property because we have had many enjoyable stays in the past. read more

What a horrible experience! I was in the Fremont/Newark area for work a couple weeks back and had the WORST experience at this hotel. When I first walked into my room, the strong smell of mold was close to intolerable. Within 5 minutes of being in the room, I had a headache from it. I was short on time, as I had an event for work to get to, so I felt I had no choice but to stay and deal with the smell/headache. I moved on to hanging my work clothes up in the closet, as I had brought them with me on hangers. As I opened the closet doors I noticed the dirt and mold growing in the tracks, on the bottom. As I opened the door further, I was horrified to find black mold growing through the wall. It reached about 2 feet up the wall and was a significant amount. I couldn't believe a room could be rented out with such a noticeable presence of mold. The smell was bad enough, but this was shocking! Black mold is extremely poisonous and dangerous to a person's health. I immediately took my clothes out of the closet and began looking around the rest of the room. As I had been getting settled in, I had noticed several bugs flying around. I'm still not sure what type they were, but they were everywhere - on the towels, bedding, kitchen, etc. There was some sort of red substance on the wall as well. Again, not sure what it was. As I gathered my purse and started down to the front desk, I noticed the inside of the front door was filthy and significantly dented in. I spoke to one of the people at the front desk and asked if there was another room available, as mine was not safe to stay in. She seemed shocked, said they were completely full and asked what the problem was. Her tone was not friendly, but seemed more annoyed to have to deal with me. I was originally trying to be somewhat quiet, as there were others checking in, however after her attitude, I no longer tried to keep my displeasure down. I very clearly started to tell her my concerns, the biggest being the black mold growing through the wall. She quickly cut me off and said she was going to the back to check with her manager, to see what could be done. She came out a few minutes later and said they for sure didn't have any other available rooms, but that they could send the maids and/or maintenance in to take a look. It was clear she was not understanding the severity of the situation. I told her that was unacceptable and that black mold was not a "quick fix" that a maid, or even maintenance could take care of that night. I demanded that I get my money back and be allowed to check out right away. She reluctantly agreed. She then rudely asked for my room key back. It was clear I didn't have my luggage with me so I let her know I'd need a few minutes to go back to the room and clear everything out. She made it clear that I MUST return the key and that I had 10 minutes to basically get out. There was no apology for my awful "stay," no sense of concern, no customer service from her. AT ALL. I HIGHLY recommend NOT staying here, it doesn't even deserve the one star you are required to give, when posting a review. read more

Nice big and clean rooms with a kitchen. Breakfast and parking were free. It was quiet.

Check in wasn't bad but I hate that they charge a $250 deposit. It's a little extreme, and the place isn't that nice. It has a kitchen and living room, and that was the interest when booking this room. Sheets were stained and dirty upon check-in, so I had to immediately request a fresh set of sheets. I also found a toenail clipping on the living room floor. The toilet is awful, and it's on the verge overflowing with every flush. The kicker for me, and why this place gets a low rating, is the customer service upon check-out. I asked to extend my reservation by a day, possibly two. They told me that they would need to start over and collect a new deposit like it's a new reservation. So, you're going to hold a $250 deposit, which you know won't be released for five days or so, and then run my card another $250 for a new deposit. This makes absolutely zero sense to a consumer. What I heard is $500 in my account won't be available to me for at least a week. Okay, scratch that idea: this place is not worth the hassle. Then, I asked for a later check-out at 1 pm, and they tell me 11:30 only, which is only 30 minutes longer than the original check-out time. Basically, after calling and letting the front desk know how I felt, which they really didn't give a shit about nor helped me in any way, the rules are the rules. Ever heard of customer service? This place needs a training on how to deal with customers and not just talk over their concerns. I definitely won't be returning to this dump! read more

We stayed here for three days. If I'm ever in the area again this will be the very first hotel I check out. It was fantastic for our family of 4. We had a one bedroom king suite with a pull out sofa bed for my kiddos to sleep on. It was great having a door and some alone time away from my kids while on vacation. Here was a full fridge. Full oven and stove top and a dishwasher. It was great to be able to bbq some steak and have salad one evening and not just eat out every meal. Their breakfasts were pretty good. Eggs and either hash or sausages. The only thing I didn't like was that breakfast ends at 8:30 during the week. I get it that many business people use this hotel when working in the area but those of us with families want to sleep in on vacation. Would have been nice to have breakfast until 9:30. Missed it by 10 minutes. Kudos to the gals that work there. They felt bad and offered to get a few bagels for my kids. We declined and just went out. read more

They are over price for little to no amenities. Not a good place for meeting or training. No wheelchair access no elevators for the meeting room upstairs. Internet is slow and unreliable. I had one of there staff constantly insult me about my name . Booked this location due to convenience of how close it is to work. However upon check in the condition of the place was like a cheap corporate housing apartment. Ripped carpet, cigarette smell, dirty kitchen utensils, stained sofa, TV was not even a smart TV. For the price it sure isn't worth it don't bother booking here, also the gentleman at the office while checking in was rude. Good place to stay in Newark, CA. We stayed here while attending swimming nationals in Stanford. Pros: - All of the employees we interacted with were helpful and friendly - They are quick to respond to reviews/requests (our A/C was not working properly and we did not have enough towels - they arrived quickly to resolve these issues) - The complimentary breakfast is AMAZING. It varies by day and they typically have eggs, potatoes or pancakes, sausage, canned and/or fresh fruit, bagels, toast, waffles, cereal, oatmeal, juice, coffee, and tea. They provide a breakfast pass that you bring with you and show to receive breakfast (only one pass per family that lists the number of family members). - They have a hot tub and pool. When we were there it seemed pretty empty. The pool temperature was warm. - They have a coin operated laundry room. It is easy to operate. They have multiple washers and dryers to use. Two were out of order when I was there but it worked out okay since there were two other washers and dryers I could use. Costs about $1.25-$1.75 to wash or dry clothes. - They clean the rooms daily, provide clean towels, and replenish the shampoo, conditioners, and soap. - Water pressure is perfect - The bar chairs are very comfortable - The hotel is located in a great location with numerous restaurants nearby Cons: - We reserved a suite for 5 people. They knew we had 5 people yet only provided 4 towels. When we asked for more, they quickly brought them to us. However, when they cleaned the room they took 5 and left 4. They also did not replenish the toilet paper. - They do not replenish the coffee - The room keys reset everyday or just randomly stopped working so we rarely had more than one key that worked. We constantly had to bring our keys (4 for 5 adults) to the front desk and get them reactivated. This was very time consuming and annoying. - Towards the end of breakfast they do not replenish all of the items so get there early. - Our A/C did not work the first night, they fixed it in a timely manner - They only provide one glass, a couple plates, a couple bowls, and some silverware in the kitchen so if you have multiple people staying there, plan accordingly - They did not clean behind the door of the bathroom or take the dirty towels hanging on the back of the bathroom door - The automatic light by the bathroom was annoying. It randomly turned on throughout the night (I think when the air turned on). This also made it difficult to use the bathroom without waking up other people in the room. - The alarm clock was set to ring at midnight. We ended up unplugging it. - They do not have very many outlets, so keep this in mind when you need to charge your devices read more

Terrible hotel. I am giving it 1 star, because Pravesh, the front desk person was wonderful. He remained calm while a long line formed for check in. I had 3 rooms here booked in June and none of them were ready, the keys were not working, the check in process was forever. The owner/manager locked himself in his office. He must not know how to do anything. We got the rooms finally and they were not very clean, although the beds had fresh linen. The maintenance guys were cleaning them. The next day we went to get breakfast and they said only from 6-8. The crew just looked at us, not even a cup of coffee. We checked out immediately and had problems with that too. This is the absolute worst stay I've ever experienced. The check in took forever, they have the nerve to charge a $250/day security deposit. NOTHING in this raggedy room is worth $250. It smelled like stale cigarette smoke when I walked in even though they claim to be "Non Smoking", there's cigarette burns on the couch to prove it. There were at least 4 flies and 1 mosquito to greet me and I spent a while chasing them down. The ice bin in the freezer was dirty with sticky stuff in it. There's dead spiders on the baseboards, stains on the walls. I can't even get the TV to work because all it says is "No Connection". They sent a security guard to try to fix my TV. Not a maintenance man, a security guard! This is a complete waste of time and money and I feel like I'm being bamboozled. The front desk people couldn't give 2 shits about my complaints and it's extremely frustrating. This is no way to run a business. Oh, and those pictures online need to be updated because this property is clearly DATED and run down and not modern and cute like it may seem. Disgusting. Needless to say I will NEVER be returning nor refer anyone to come here. *UPDATE: (Some of you may wonder, "well why didn't you just leave?" Good question. I was told I could not cancel for a refund because I already checked in. But in order to get the key and check out the room, I had to have to checked in. Which is why we rely on the photos but they were not helpful in this experience.) After expressing my frustrations to the front staff and security guard and getting a monotoned "sorry about that" response, I posted reviews on every possible outlet. The front desk person called me at 1am after seeing my review and asked if I wanted another room. At 1am?! "What's the point now", I asked him. I was just ready to get outta there. Then, at 8am I have the maintenance man knocking on my door repeatedly and the front desk calling the room telephone. 8am?! On the weekend?! I'm over it. My boyfriend and I stayed here this past weekend and by far was the worst hotel Experience we have ever encountered- due to the dirtiness we experienced. We had went out and came back to the hotel late, as we were taking the pillows off the bed and peeling the sheets back to get into bed, there was dirty sheets, and hairs from the previous people that had slept in the bed before us?? I imagine the sheets and pillow cases weren't even washed or changed?? Not sure. It was absolutely disgusting. I mean how else would these hairs get on the pillows and in the sheets??? We then tried to go and sleep on the pull out mattress that was connected to the couch, and there was no bed sheet. So then looked in closet only to find MORE dirty sheets!! Here's some pictures of what we encountered. We got back to the hotel and encountered this situation around 2 in the morning. We ended up sleeping on top of the couch, not on the bed or pullout mattress.. Long story short, when I checked out the next morning, and talked to the manager her response was "we are sorry that happened but you should have called the front desk" OK- I am going to call downstairs at 2-3AM to have some random "house cleaner" come up and change alll the bedding? To me, that's uncomfortable I don't want some random house cleaner comingg up while I am in my pajamas getting ready for bed to come change sheets that should have beenn cleaned in the first place!!! Complete bullshit!! On top of that they coUld not even refund me my money for my shitty stay???? Anyways, I willl never be coming back here. And suggest anyone who is considering staying here to check their bed and sheets for dirtiness. The LEAST they could have done was refund me my money. read more

Good place to stay is close grocery stores restaurants close by walking distance just need to be careful people hang out around there that are not your friends staff always have been friendly people rooms are clean I haven't hade any problem there. Have stayed there a-lot .......... read more
