I had the three piece tenders combo with french fries and a beverage. The tenders were huge and so many fries I had leftovers. I could only eat one tender. Upon a second visit to Cousin's, I was delightfully surprised at the quality, taste and value that this chicken joint has to offer. A cheat meal for me usually looks like.... Fried chicken. I heard Cousins was the best around so we knew we had to try them out. We ordered online on our drive over from Ionia and our food was hot and ready when we pulled up. Their online ordering system makes for a fast and convenient experience. We ordered a 9 piece mixed chicken meal and a chicken tenders meal. Sides includes hush puppies, cheese curds and French fries. The chicken tenders were a little dry which is why I take 1 star away but other than that the food was on point. Well seasoned. 30 + year customer past two visits were not what Cousins Tasty Chicken kept us coming back for. Both times pollock has been over cooked and batter seems to be heavier. On the previous take out order the pollock wasn't edible it was cooked so hard. Last night fries were not fresh, they were warm but they were tough like they had been sitting for a long time. They have pretty good food here! We often get lunch takeout here for work! The best thing they have here is the SPICY chicken tenders. It is very spicy, but it is also very juicy and tender. The regular chicken tenders are just not as tender or juicy. The fries are okay. The service is pretty good too. They had a separate counter for order aheads which made it a little more organized, but I don't know how they keep track of everything! We ordered the scallop and perch meal. They were bay scallops with not so much scallop flavor but breading was good. Perch was not so fishy either - could be a good or a bad thing. Tartar sauce was yum. We also got the fish and shrimp family meal - that was entirely too much food for 2 people :) We got 2 plastic containers of cold baked beans. We got a Little Caesars' breadsticks size bag of fries. We got tons of perch and popcorn shrimp... lots of it ended up in the leftover bin because we could not finish it all! When I ordered this, there was an option for seasoning salt and I requested it thinking it'd be in the breading or fried in the fish, but it came in a Jell-O shot cup. To be sprinkled on top? The staff was cheerful and helpful, our food was fresh and perfectly cooked. My only complaint is they are one hour and fourth minutes from my home.
