This review is not based on having an experience in tanning there, but how a potential customer is treated. I bought a Groupon and it expired a few days ago. It's my own fault for not paying more attention to the expiration date, so I called to see if she would still allow me to use it (as I was looking to use it right away if she'd allow me). Immediately, she was very condescending and told me, "Groupon doesn't care that it expired, but I do, so email me your bar code and I have to see if Groupon will still give me credit". Sharp tone, and emphasized on the "I do". Although I didn't feel very happy about how she talked to me, I totally understood as every small business is just trying to make some money. I called Groupon to inquire about it myself. Groupon reps told me that businesses are paid out right from the beginning and not as the Groupons are used (and that she should know that already). And also that she does not have to honor the deal, but she should honor it like a gift certificate for the amount that I paid for. Groupon called her for me to explain the situation and apparently she refused to even honor a measly $15 gift certificate. I was willing to pay the full price with my gift certificates (I had 2, which meant I would have gone there at least twice). Groupon is fantastic and gave me credit back and apologized on her behalf (which I really didn't think they should have to do that). It's unfortunate that she would treat a potential customer like that so I will not be trying this place anytime and will be letting my friends know too. Btw, I have had friends and even personal experience with businesses who still honors the groupon after the expiration or even just honor it like a gift certificate. I'm just surprised that she wasn't even willing to work something out with a potential customer and treated me like a second class citizen just because my groupon was expired. read more

I was introduced by Groupon and had gone back 3 times already and even bought another 4 pack. It is perfect to get a little color for special occasions/trips. Adelia is great! I am very shy about my body and getting naked but she made me more comfortable each time. The only thing I do not like about it is that you have to wait at least 6 hours before showering for the tan to build, etc. 6 hours isn't too long but it gets sticky and streaky towards the ends of the day because of the running color. Don't worry, all this streakiness will all wash off and you will have a nice even tan! The tan extender works wonders so don't forget to grab that as well! read more

I came in through an Instagram request that the owner needed models for a free spray tan! She was training new employees for the summer so I took this opportunity to try it out. Overall, the owner is very professional and the staff she has is as well. It is a very small boutique yet intimate which makes it nice when you're completely stripping down to spray. You see the tan show up right away which I love. I was taking a look at the prices and they are a little steep but if you buy the packages it's much cheaper! I recently moved from Southern California, as you know the pains of moving as a girl is having to find all new beauty specialist (hair, nails, tanning etc). I had a really bad spray tan experience when I first tried one up here, I was very disappointed til I tried couture tanning. I am very fair (well I was before going to Adelia!) and I had previously used self-tanning lotions with messy, streaky, and unpredictable results. I am SOOO glad I found Adelia! I decided to tan in the nude, and I was somewhat nervous. However, Adelia was so easy-going about everything, and so professional, I immediately felt better about being naked. I got a medium-level tan; Adelia sprays quickly, tells you the right ways to position your arms, legs, etc, and gives you a nice, even coating. There is no smell or irritation from the spray. Afterwards, she explained everything really well, and gave me great advice on keeping my tan from fading unevenly. It's been about an hour since I was sprayed, and the developer-smell is very minimal compared to other tanning products I've used. I am glowing!! I am definitely going back! read more

I was lured into getting a spray tan because there was a great Groupon offer. It was my first spray tanning experience and, while I didn't quite know what to expect, I was very explicit with the tanning technician that I'm fair skinned and wanted something really subtle and "barely there". I had expected that they would choose the right "color" for my skin and preferences, but I never saw the technician select a color - it appeared that there was one color only and that's what you got, regardless of your skin tone or desired outcome. To be fair, I wasn't with her the entire time (for example, I'm not sure what she did while I was changing), but the end result was that I was sprayed with a color that was way too dark for my skin tone. I think I could have gotten used to the color had it been consistent. My hands are the worst - they're splotchy and orange. I'm able to laugh at it, but I certainly won't be going in for anymore spray tans. On the positive side, the woman who applied the spray tan to me was very professional and courteous. I felt comfortable with her and with the facility - it's in a great location and very well decorated. read more

Need to reschedule? No problem. Want a double coat to avoid pealing? You got it. There are no two minute timers here rushing you out of the booth when your tan is still sticky (like at other airbrush salons in Los Gatos...ahem!) Got some raindrops on your feet after your airbrush session? She'll do a touch-up. I came in before my bachelorette and then again before my wedding. The tan looked beautiful and I had a lovely glow. I love that they offer a Fiji express tan which allows you to shower within a few hours. I just took off one star because both times some of the tan stained my white clothes and this was 2 days after the spray. Luckily it wasn't too noticeable on my wedding dress since I only did an upper body tan. I will go back though because it was the best glow I've ever had from a spray tan. read more

This place is great and Adelia is just amazing. I brought my friend, the bride-to-be, so we could have a nice tan for her wedding in 2 days. My friend was so worried about looking orange for her big day, but her fears were quickly put at ease. Adelia did an amazing job adjusting the tan to her skin tone (fair), and she gave us all the necessary instructions for proper aftercare (which we followed explicitly). Needless to say, she looked amazing on her big day, and my tan was absolutely perfect (olive skin tone)!! Adelia was FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!! Me and one of my sorority sisters bought 4 spray tans for $10 on Groupons.com (a $50 Value) and we were treated as if we had paid full price!!! She was absolutely professional in every way shape and form. Me and My Roommate missed our appointments because we got lost, and she patiently redirected us, and stayed open past her close time so we could get bronze... the spray tan lasted both of us over a week!!!! Mine didn't start coming off till I scratched my skin pretty vigorously in the shower. I WILL be coming again!!!! This place is Amazing!!! This place is amazing! I used to "fake bake" in college and was never able to get as tan as I wanted, it cost a fortune, and I had to worry about skin cancer. I found out about Couture Tan from a friend just before a trip to Vegas and I've been coming back ever since! My tan always comes out looking fantastic- super natural and never streaky. I tried another place once when I got a groupon and it wasn't nearly as good (streaky, unnatural and didn't last at all). The owner is very professional (which is necessary since I'm not one to strip down in front of strangers) and always manages to squeeze me in. The prices are very reasonable and the boutique is adorable. My only regret is that I live in Mountain View and have to drive to Campbell (but I do it because it's totally worth it). I would highly recommend this place to anyone that needs a quick tan before a vacation or special night out! read more

Couture Tan is my favorite place to get spray tanned! Prior to finding this shop, I had been to at least half a dozen custom airbrush tanning salons in the area, and Couture Tan is by far the best! I've never had anything less than a perfect tan, and the owner Adelia is a sweetheart and the best tan technician I've ever been sprayed by. I appreciate that the salon is always clean and and customer service is always superb. I've been sprayed here for numerous special events and before all of my vacations and I've always been 100% happy with my tan. It's a perfect golden brown that you just can't get from any booth tan, and I'm addicted to this place. I also have a tight schedule, and I truly appreciate that Couture Tan runs on time and honors their appointment times. The reviewer before me seems pretty pissed off that she couldn't be accommodated, without considering that she was asking the salon to push back all of their other ON TIME CLIENTS. That seems pretty selfish to me, and obviously with the completely hateful review she expects that exceptions should be made for her. I'm happy that I never have to wait at Couture Tan, and obviously everyone else who comes here on the regular appreciates a shop that honors their policies. This is THE place to go for safe "tanning". I do fitness modeling and I would not be able to make it without this place! The place is small, intimate - but that's what you need when you're stripping down. It's all by appointment which is great because you don't want to feel like you're walking out to a lobby full of people afterwards. I love this place! I've had tans by both Adelia and Gabby, and have never had a bad result. As goes with any airbrush tan, I shave and exfoliate as close to my appointment as possible (before, not after!), which helps avoid any streaks, but beyond that, they always took great care to make sure everything looked perfect before leaving. I got my first airbrush tan here over a year ago. It was amazing. I only tan before vacations usually(so maybe 2/3x a year). I tried a few other tanning places in between seeing Adelia again today and I realized after being orange or extremely dark(I'm very fair) from the other salons I tried that it's worth making time to come here every time. She got me in today pretty last minute which I really appreciate(thank you!) My tan already looks great and she makes it a relaxed experience standing naked with a shower cap on in front of a stranger getting sprayed with tanning stuff...not an easy feat. Haha. first things first, I am IN love with my amazing spray tan! I went in yesterday and was told by a friend that this place is amazing. I am so used to going to planet beach, (being sprayed by a machine) and this is done by a person. It's totally amazing and way worth the price, it's about $45 on average for a spray tan. It lasts about a week and a half, make sure you wear loose clothing so you don't feel like you're messing up your spray tan afterwards!! The lady was really nice, (I never got her name) and she kept conversation throughout the entire service!! It's a small little place but it's adorable! And now I am so ready for my trip to Santa Barbra on my spring break looking so tan! I will definitely be coming here again! read more
