Dangerous Drivers - Use Caution A Cove Tent driver acted with such a lack of safety that we felt we were in danger. After cutting us off on the road, and unhappy that we honked at him, he proceeded to sit in the four-way intersection, blocking all traffic. When we attempted to drive around him, he accelerated, aiming the large truck toward our car, and then continued to block traffic. Twice we called to speak with a manager/owner about our concerns, wanting to share the danger/liability their drivers were exposing the company to. While the receptionist was polite and concerned, neither call was returned as promised. While the company highlights the "family ownership" of their business, they don't seem to share the family values most people share. As to whether it is wise to rent from a company based on these facts, I'll leave that to the reader. But use caution. read more

Mick was very helpful over the phone and communicative over email, even after I changed my order a few times. Delivery and pickup was prompt and they helped my fiance bag all of the chairs that we mistakenly didn't bag after our party. I'd recommend Cove Tent for any party rental needs! read more

This truck driver nearly hit my daughter in back seat and me. Then when we pull up to same light together he's laughing at meanwhile he has a shattered windshield. I get the license plate and phone # on the side of truck to call and report. Woman who answers phone says "wow" repeatedly even though I asked twice what is the protocol for complaints. She stayed silent with an answer. Terrible terrible customer service and drivers! Wish I could do a negative star! read more

There is definitely some truth to the hard to get in touch with aspect of doing business with this company, which is why I didn't give them 5 stars, but overall my experience was solid. We had about 30 people come over for a Thanksgiving dinner and had Cove provide the tables, chairs, plates, silverware, coffee cups, chaffing dishes, tablecloths, napkins...everything so we could have real dinnerware. The owner uses an answering service and is slow to respond (this most likely isn't his full time job), but the prices can't be beat. It's definitely a trade off and if you need something on the quick, this probably isn't your spot. If you are planning something with a little advanced notice and can be patient this is the place. The money saved is well worth the lengthy response time. The quality of items we rented was good and the best part is you don't need to clean them yourself. This was in 2007. I was required to use Cove Tent for my wedding (required by the venue I was using). Cove Tent required I pay about $250 for someone onsite to fix any issues with the AC I also rented from them. Day of my wedding comes and the AC doesn't work (it was crazy hot that day). The guy I am paying to fix any issues cannot fix the problem (It turns out there was no freon in the units). Somehow Cove Tent refused to refund my money for the service person. WHY would I have to pay for someone to be onsite to service any issues if when an issue comes up they cannot fix the problem??? Not to mention, why would they send a unit without freon??? I WOULD NOT GO NEAR THIS BUSINESS IF YOU WANT ANY SORT OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. read more

Called this company 3 times. Waited patiently. Never got a return call. I guess they don't need the business

UPDATE: Unbeknownst to me at the time of the walk-through, the man with which I was working, Mick, is actually the owner of the entire company. I STRONGLY DISCOURAGE anyone from working with them, out of concern that your tent won't show up. With rain in the forecast and possibly a hurricane, Mick and I decided to hold off and reassess on the 40' x 40' tent, and committed to go forward with the 20' x 20' tent over a sheltered porch and 30' of piping and draping so that we could use the garage in case the larger tent did not work out. The plan was to reconnect Friday AM, the day before my 100+ person party, to determine if the larger tent can go up and what time he would be returning to my home to deliver the other equipment. So Friday AM, as instructed, I called him and ended up leaving a message with a receptionist. An hour later he "returned" my call with a completely impersonal text stating, "I am not putting up any tents this weekend due to the weather." I replied, asking him when the smaller tent (that he said would not be a problem) and the piping and draping (that was to be used indoors therefore is in no way affected by the weather) would be delivered, and asked that he call me so we could chat. CRICKETS. I called the office a few hours later, left another message telling the receptionist that I am trying to find out what time my piping/draping and tent would be delivered. Again, CRICKETS. I was and am truly APPALLED. This guy Mick completely screwed me, leaving me totally f'd with a giant party on the way in 24 hours with absolutely no tent and, perhaps even worse, no draping so that I could have a backup plan ready in case the tents were a No Go. I called every tent company in CT & NY Metro and everyone was out of tents, most telling me they had just rented out last one that day. Had he just told me days earlier that he had absolutely no intention of providing the service to which he had agreed, I would've been able to secure one with another company. I would NOT for a moment trust this company with even the smallest of functions EVER. Do NOT use them!! read more

There are not enough great things I can say about this company! The customer service was impeccable! Mick answered all of my questions with great detail, even after I was on my 50th one being a newbie in tent renting. Mick directed me in the tent size for my number of guests and how to best utilize the tent space so it would not feel cramped. My tent was delivered on time and set up perfectly by two knowledgeable employees, who answered my remaining ten questions. The tent was sparkling white, every chair was super clean and the tent size was perfect! Highly recommend, will use again! read more
