This office is all women staffed - this does not mean it is a safe space for women. My first…read moreinitial visits were great but turned sour quickly. They do not prioritize patient care. They laugh and make fun of their patients. You are told that you can see any provider, but I never actually spoke with a Doctor throughout my entire pregnancy/postpartum not even an informal introduction to make their presence known. You will never meet with the same provider; it will be a different midwife every time. Most of the staff also works in the hospital. Scheduling is not convenient. The scheduler/receptionists is supposed to reach out to schedule appointments (for certain matters) but lack or they don't answer the phone. I had one reach out & she provided the wrong patient information on my voicemail. It can be a hassle to obtain anything paperwork related such as work accommodation letters, FMLA paperwork, return to work forms, within a reasonable time. One of the receptionists completes the paperwork, never a doctor. She will sign for the doctor even if you've never spoken with one. The paperwork looks like a high schooler forged it (very unprofessional especially when she makes mistakes). She does not have urgency to return the paperwork & completes it wrong, will need to follow up. They offer group appointment sessions - Centering Pregnancy classes (located near Newton hospital) where you meet as a group and discuss a plethora of topics. This is a nice alternative to regular office visits but personal information of others is sometimes heard because there's no real privacy door/separation. Dads are welcome too. It's informative for first time moms and filled with activities/guests from the hospital. You will complete a labor and delivery tour at the hospital. The sessions only scratch the surface on topics. It does not cover induction process in depth, risks of induction, c-section process, labor rules (apparently there's a 4 hour timeframe for how long you can push vaginally until another method is used or c-section) & what to truly expect during labor/delivery. Breast pumps (covered by insurance) are provided through Aeroflow. A form has to be completed & they are supposed to do the rest. You will likely need to follow up. Circumcision for boys can be completed in office within 6 weeks from birth by a midwife/surgical tech. They are not knowledgeable of their own capabilities or processes; they are operationally sloppy. Always read the after notes in the mychart; leave the door open because they will leave you waiting in the patient room for unnecessarily long. I do not recommend this practice if you are a first time mom, younger mom, or single mom. You should always have someone with you at office appointments to advocate or be a second set of ears (even if they tell you that you can't have anyone else in the exam room with you, yes you can - do not allow them to intimidate you). They are not thorough with follow ups, lacks listening skills, and often will place prescription medications at inconvenient locations (even if you tell them where).

I'm not even sure where to begin. If you are a young girl seeking help for any issues like PMS,…read morePMDD,PCOS, or any other menstrual or cycle related issues do not go here. First of all the bedside manner of the nurse practitioner I saw was terrible. I don't know if these NP's and OBGYN's are burnt out, or if they just genuinely do not need to be in this field but the way I was spoken to about my issues was not great. I went in for issues related to my PMS symptoms, such as depression, anger, sadness, and some other bad physical symptoms like pain. The first thing that she did was recommend birth control for me when I have stated I am NOT interested in being on birth control again after trying it in the past and feeling horrible on it and getting recurrent infections. She spoke to me as if I was getting all my information online and diagnosing myself with things, even though there is family history of PMDD!! When she mentioned SSRI's, and I asked her if she thought it would be best for me to take them every day or just right before my cycle; she stated that she would stick to the original plan that "I came in with in my head" as if I had this pre-planned diagnosis and treatment for myself before I walked in the door. Then went through the things I could do to make it better such as "not vaping even though people think it's cool now" (her exact words) I DO NOT EVEN CONSUME ANY NICOTINE! I felt humiliated, like something was wrong with me because she said if it is PMDD, then it's out of their hands because they cannot deal with the "emotional" side of things and I'd have to go see a psychiatrist. I walked to the front desk trying to hold in my tears and could barely speak to the receptionist. As soon as I got out the door I started sobbing. It is extremely sad that women hesitate going to the doctor FOR THIS REASON EXACTLY!! Constantly dismissed and talked to like you're having hysteria or something. I will not be returning.

Check in was pretty easy for me never having been there before. I had them bill the VA and only waited for about 5 minutes before I got my vitals taken and ushered to another area not far from the front door. They took me in a room only 5 minutes later, and when the doctor came in, she was surprisingly pleasant. In fact, I told my cousin she was sweeter than honey. Wait, she called me that a few times (big smile). Then I get the bad news, but again, she was delightful to be around considering I felt to sick. I didn't have it so bad where my symptoms put me in the hospital. She gave me some prescriptions, instructions, and sent me home. I was shocked that the lobby area had filled up fast while I was in the back. I'm back to normal now and so happy there are still good people in the world. I was told she's from up North. Well, no wonder. I'm from up North too and had heard about southern hospitality before I ended up down here. I'm still looking for it, folks ... from southerners. Hahahahaha; geesh!

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING EXPERIENCE -- DO NOT GO HERE, EVER!…read more Piedmont Urgent Care in Covington, GA (off 278) is the absolute worst medical experience I've ever had, and I need everyone to hear this loud and clear: DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE. I came in visibly, obviously sick -- relentless coughing, body aches, sore throat, green phlegm, sinus pressure. They took my vitals, asked why I was there, told me the nurse practitioner Alicia would be in shortly. FORTY-FIVE MINUTES later, Alicia shows up, spends maybe ONE MINUTE with me, listens to my lungs (even while I'm actively coughing), glances at my throat, claims I somehow have thrush from an inhaler I literally just started using the DAY BEFORE, writes a prescription, and walks out. No real exam, no time spent, no care shown. I felt completely insignificant. Like I was just another box to check off. They made me feel like a burden, like I was just wasting their time -- when I was clearly very sick and needed help. I even asked for a second opinion and was denied on the spot. "Nothing's wrong except thrush," they told me. On top of that, they made me spend additional money, and I've heard nothing from my insurance company. It's like they're more focused on cranking through as many patients as possible -- probably because they get paid by how many people they shove in and out, not by the hour or by quality of care. They don't slow down, they don't listen, they don't CARE. And here's the kicker: after I got upset and asked for more help, they suddenly sent in a random white woman -- someone I hadn't seen at all when I first arrived -- like that would somehow calm me down or change my mind. Did they think switching the face in the room would fix the problem? It was bizarre and honestly felt insulting. Alicia and the entire staff at this location should be absolutely ashamed. This is not medical care. This is a factory line. Patients deserve to be seen, heard, and treated with respect -- not rushed through like dollar signs on a balance sheet. I will NEVER go back, and I strongly warn everyone: if you care about your health and want actual medical attention, STAY FAR AWAY from Piedmont Urgent Care Covington. You deserve better. We all do!
