Have been coming here for many years as a short diversion from my regular bike rides on the Silver Strand. Shorter lines and better coffee than at the Ferry Landing, plus an ocean view from one of the numerous tables by the pier. We also go there about once a week during beach trips. I love ice cream! I knew I had to go and by coincidence Jeff lives in IB and literally down the street from this delicious shop. After dinner he took me to this quaint little shop right on the pier.. So we chose our flavors, me the cookies and cream in a small bowl and he chose the chocolate chip on top of a cake cone. All I can say is this ice cream is so well made. Creamy and full of flavor. It's not like the ice cream that starts to melt if you don't have it right away. Besides his cone being kind of stale this place is amazing. I recently went here with my little brothers to get them ice cream and some coffee for me. The location is nice, right on the pier and all... I can't comment on the ice cream seeing as how I didn't have any but my coffee was...definitely horrible. It tastes mostly like water and some syrup. Definitely not even worth $2.25. I can't believe I've lived across the street from this place for so long and hadn't tried it. I wont go anywhere else for ice cream if I can help it. The owner was super nice and attentive (she has to be-the place is super tiny). She told us that everything is made in house, from the ice cream to the waffle cones. Not a big waffle cone kind of guy but I gave it a shot and wont try it any other way at this place; not too sweet, just a little bit of cinnamon or nutmeg (couldn't tell which). The ice cream: RIDICULOUS! Had a scoop of vanilla and chocolate-bomb. The very next day, had the chocolate and cookies&cream-my new favorite combo. They have outdoor seating, or walk the pier/beach if you don't want to feel too guilty afterward. I had 2 scoops and it was huge. Love this place, period. read more

I would go there for the House Special which was fabulous. The last two times I have been there the young lady that tended to me was very rude. We came here for some ice cream during the Sandcastle Festival, and it was heaven on a hot day! We all raved about the quality of the ice cream (it was so creamy and rich!) and its right on the beach. We tried pistachio, mint chip, and my mom had a coffee drink with a scoop of ice cream in it! I came here during an event, and even with all the craziness around the owners were super friendly and fast. It was too early if ice cream (if that's really possible) and got a mixed berry smoothie ($3.75). It was really tasty, and perfectly refreshing after running around. If you are in South Bay San Diego, this place is Amazing i love their sweet cream and the rum and raising, those 2 flavors are bomb. All of the flavor are really good, but those are my favorite. Don't think this is weird but I'm not here to rave about the ice cream (which I'm sure is de-lish)....I just wanted to say that I had one of the best chai tea lattes I've ever had. Wow. It was the perfect blend of flavors and not too sweet (like you get if you dare order chai at Starbucks). And then he handed me a little cinnamon shaker and told me to help myself. Heaven. This place is way far from where I live and situate at but it's well worth the drive to get some real ice cream that is made in house. You really can't beat homemade ice cream that is cheaper than Baskin Robbins and taste much more rich than the competition.
