I should have thought about it more, but I make better meatloaf at home. The food overall lacked seasoning and was only lukewarm, I will say that the mashed potatoes were good. We also ordered the trout and prime rib sandwich, unfortunately, none of it tasted very fresh. I'm surprised by the 4.5 star reviews. Husband had the fish 'n chips, nothing special there, as expected because what can you do with deep fried fish? I had the buffalo meat loaf with gravy and mashed potatoes. The potatoes were good. The meatloaf was dense and the texture was grainy, the flavor was reminiscent of liver, the gravy was salty and brown without any special flavor. I've had buffalo before but this tasted a bit weird to me. For dessert we had the peach crunch pie ala mode. The ice cream was vanilla, the pie filling was ok, hard taste it for the pretzel/crunch topping. The pie crust ~ soggy and pasty. Seriously, I could give lessons. Pie crust is more than just something to line the pan, it should have a lightly crispy texture. It should not be wet. The variety of pies is tempting; flavors I'd never think of putting together like blueberry/rhubarb sounded wonderful for example. But there again, the crust would ruin it. We have been visiting this establishment and the food is consistently great although I am sad they have removed my patty melts from the menu to add some more modern dishes. It's still a great place for a great burger and onion rings! Open face roast beef with mashed potatoes and gravy. Certainly I hit with us as well! Unexpectedly BAD! My wife and I stopped in. This place has some good reviews and the menu looks great. I ordered the Prime Rib and eggs and she ordered some kind of egg on toast meal. I ordered the prime rib medium rare and it came out closer to shoe leather with 5 pounds of salt on it. everything was over salted. Both her's and my eggs were overcooked and dry. Even the potatoes were devoid of moisture. I'm talking drier than a popcorn fart. If you want a decent meal, keep driving. read more
