On Jun 8, 2020, I got a tow. The driver (/owner?) was prompt and efficient. Unfortunately, he did not wear a face covering.

I called Cowboy Towing for a quote to get my car towed to a body shop. Robbie was able to give me a quote over the phone that was cheaper than the last 3 places I called. He showed up right on time and got my car loaded in 5 minutes. I got my car towed to body shop from home in less than 15 minutes. This was easier than picking up groceries! I saw a young man do a spin out and ended up in the side dittch. I Parked my car and ran over to slow down traffic and make sure he was okay. Within minutes (by pure coincidence) Cowboy towing was driving by and he stopped and came over to me and immediately started assesing the situation, I looked up and he looked like a "knight in shining armor". I called last night to tow my car but the guy i talked to told me that they dont accept credit or debit card and they only accept cash. He told me to find a nearest bank. I told him how can i go to a bank if my car is not working? They didn't help me. So sad that there are company like this. So i called another Tow Company who accepted card and immediately helped me. I have to agree with the other 5 star reviewers. My fuel pump died this weekend and while I'm not looking forward to that bill, Cowboy Towing was reasonable, incredibly prompt, and he was really efficient, here and gone in about 5 minutes, cash payment. Two years ago I got a tow and the jackass who loaded my truck onto the flatbed somehow blew the seal on my brake fluid reservoir - my mechanic popped the hood and saw fluid everywhere (thanks for the extra expense). I have been dealing with Robbie (Cowboy Towing) for more than a couple years now. He has always been straight forward type of guy. No sure what has happened to him but this is my last experience I will have with him. The night before I called and asked him to pick up my service truck. I was told he had one tow in the morning and he would "see what he could do" gave me a quote that was fair. He failed to pick it up or call and let me know. Service truck got towed and I'm still struggling to even get my tools back. I've been out if work this whole time. I've heard he has a personal problem with me but has never brought it up. A service truck with $40,000 worth of tool getting towed. He should have told me he did not want to do it. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SERVICE!!!! read more

If towing were music, he would be Mozart. He has the art of towing down! He quoted the lowest price and boy did he deliver. I had set an appointment to meet me at my stranded car. As soon as I pulled up, he whipped in front of the car, and in less than a minute, he had pulled it into a parking lot to strap it down in safety off the main street. I live in Hayward and had to be in Concord soon - came out of the house only to find a dead battery! UGH! The battery was old so I figured I'd better get a tow to Goodyear and get a new battery rather than a "jump". Called my tow service thru Chevron - they were useless. Tried several other tow companies everyone was busy or would take an hour or more to get to me (it was rush hour traffic time) and Goodyear needed me there 45 minutes before they closed to install the new battery!! 5th tow service I called was Cowboy - He was sympathetic to my problem and promised he would do his best to do what had to be done to get me to Goodyear in time! Shortly after speaking to him he was at the house ready to tow the car - WOW was I impressed! So nice, so polite, so fast , simply awesome! In less than an hour I was on the road to my destination. The other day i got a flat tire so I called my auto club and they told me it was going to be an hour and i was on the freeway I called my husband who yelped towing in the area and Cowyboy towing cam up. so i called them and he was very polite and told me it would be $25 for a tire change and that he could be there in like 30 minutes well it was more like 10 minutes so after he left i called back my auto club back and they told me that i could send in the receipt and they would reimbursement well... they did and i told them to consider using cowboy towing. Excellent! Cowboy Towing just came and took my broken car to the mechanic. I can't think of anything bad to say. It's a Friday night of a holiday weekend. He kept calling to give updates as to when he would get to the car. When he did get there, my jaw dropped with the amazing speed in which he picked up the car. Even paying him was incredibly easy. I like old cars, and I tow them around a lot. If they're not breaking down, I'm buying another dead one and getting it towed home. Had to call them in for towing service this early morning and upon arriving for picking up my truck for some reason my truck just came alive after the guy's 2nd attempt of starting it. At that point, it's pretty much obvious that it no longer needed towing so I asked them if we can simply cancel it. The guy responded that he will have to check their dispatch and got back that it's okay but I will have to pay for the half of the quoted amount, which is understandable. I am very satisfied with their service and will definitely consider them if a need arises in the future (but hopefully not anymore :-) )! read more

If I could I would give zero stars. The company and owner/driver seem like good people, but buyer beware. They seem to offer good fees etc. but if something goes wrong they WILL NOT pay for the damages. I recently got my car towed and after I noticed heavy damage. In CA it's the law that any tow truck company is responsible for any damages. Cowboy Towing refused to give their auto insurence information (maybe they are not insured, who knows) and I ended up paying for it with my insurence and my premiums went up. So at the end of the day, pay the extra cash to go somewhere else. Because if you go this cheap rout and something bad happens you will be out hundreds if not thousands of dollars. These guys are hella cool and the price was right they only charged me 60 bucks no hook up fee or nothing like most towing company's they usually charge 80 dollars just to hook up to your car and that's not even the tow fee ...!!! My car overheated halfway between Castro Valley and Oakland on Redwood road. If you're familiar with the area you can understand why my description to Cowboy when he asked where I was boiled down to 'the middle of nowhere with no address'. Despite that, the truck showed up quickly and got me home faster than it took a rival dispatch service to even call me back; and for about half the price the rival quoted. My car's starter went out, it was Thursday afternoon around 4:00 pm. I called these folks after Yelping; they had 5 stars by 7 reviewers and seemed a solid choice. When I called, someone picked up relatively quick. I set pick-up for around 9 AM on Friday. 10:00 AM Friday came around and no tow truck. I called for a status and the guy asked if I'd set up an appointment. He said he would not be able to get to me for another 2 hours. This was NOT good as I was trying to get the car into the shop early to ensure getting it back before the weekend. I cancelled the call. I live in Castro Valley and only needed to get the car moved less than 2 miles. Cowboy Towing quoted me $45, which would have been ok if they'd followed through. Instead I went with C.V. Union 76 towing for $65. read more
