Cows definitely puts the creaminess in ice cream! Stopped by for a couple of scoops and really enjoyed how heavily creamy they were. Tried the Moo Crunch and PEI Blueberry on cones, and liked how the flavours came through and how they weren't overly sweet. Only quibbles were the blueberries were too icy and the cones were a bit hard. But overall, really enjoyed. This is the perfect spot to stop by and grab a scoop to make that walk along Queen Street even more enjoyable.
This ice cream shop is so cute. They have a great variety of ice cream flavours. When you walked into the shop, you can see a lot of different "cows" merch, snacks and souvenirs. I went there at 11am, but there was already a line there LOL The cone is freshly made. I got the cone and my friend got the cup and they weigh the portion to make sure it is enough. I got the gooey mooey and cowcount cream pie. So yummy! You can ask the staff to give you a sample to taste it before buying it.
I came here on a Sunday afternoon and it was busy. There was a line up but it moved pretty quick. I got the moo york ice cream in a cone. It was yummy and perfect treat on a hot day. The scoop was on the smaller size but I saw that they weight it before handing it over. I have had COWS in the east coast before. I'd say it's in par with the ice cream there. It's good but not the best ice cream I have had.
Overall COWS was a decent. Atmosphere was great. Perfect spot to cool down on a nice summer day strolling along the strip. The line was a little long but it moved fairly quickly. They ice cream itself was decent but nothing special. I had the Brownie Explosion which was decent. Overall a nice treat to have on a hot summer day but definitely not the best ice cream I've ever had.
Neat store, very busy. Enjoyed a little test and took home a souvenir. The staff was very efficient.
In Niagara on the Lake, there are MANY, many ice cream shops to choose from but the unique flavor choices and cute accompany cute names pulled us in. The marketing for COWS is through the roof but tastefully done. Its COWS theme is so FUN and trendy that buying just ice cream might be next near impossible. Services was friendly and efficient with the long line going from one end of the shop to the other. You are provided free sample tasting to help you decide on the perfect choices. On this day, we chose peanut butter cup cup, wowie cowie, chunky chocolate mint and chocolate mud. *If charging by credit, be mindful of the tiny "tip" buttons you are tapping. Ice cream was absolutely creamy, flavorful and delicious! It's worth every single lick and crunch!!

I only tried them once but LOVE their ice cream. Apparently there only a few cow's ice cream shops around. Super super creamy and delicious, sweet but not overly sweet. My favorite was their blueberry They also make their cones fresh and in store. You can see them making it on the spot. If you're ever in the area, you HAVE to give them a try! They also sell other items like plushies and other souvenirs.
Niagara-on-the-lake is such a charming town that it deserves a special ice cream spot! As per most, I was visiting from out of town on a special tour and got to experience the town for only an hour or so, but enjoyed this stop. Cows cleansed my palette with their refreshing unique flavors and quirky store. They're very generous and polite with letting passerby's try the diverse flavors. Lots of great merchandise and memorabilia. This is definitely worthy of a stop if you're in the area or just driving through! Maple syrup might be this country's claim to fame, but their ice cream is right up there too!
My first time at this Cow's location. The staff were really nice and let us try whatever flavours we wanted. I got a half and half scoop of Apple Crisp and Blueberry on a peanut cone. Apple Crisp had some crumble and caramel inside, and the blueberry had some frozen blueberry pieces in it. Service was fast and there's a cute shop inside to buy some merch.
I love Cow's gelato and I make sure to have at least a one scoop cup every time I visit Niagara-on-the-Lake. Their gelato and sorbet flavors ate unique and delicious. I love PEI blueberry and PEI strawberry flavors and all the flavors they have made with their combination. They also have unique chocolate and maple flavors. Each scoop is rather big and they have peanut chunks cone, chocolate cone, chocolate and sprinkle cone, plain waffle cone and cups to choose from. They also sell so many cute swaggers. And the staff are patient and helpful.
Must-try ice cream spot in the Niagara on the Lake area! Haven't been to this location in years, but having tried COWS locations across Canada, this location is just as good. Over the long weekend, as expected, the lineup was huge. We were lining up out the door and there were people passing down the menu to check out the flavours. Unfortunately the flavours I wanted to try were not available that day when I ordered at the counter. However, I did get the chance to sample a couple flavours despite how busy it was. I got a double scoop of mint chocolate and coconut cream pie, in a chocolate dipped waffle cone. The mint chocolate was refreshing and the coconut cream pie tasted just like the dessert. I think adding coconut flakes might add a more interesting texture but otherwise it was good. The chocolate waffle cone I found was too sweet and I would probably opt for a regular cone next time. Aside from ice cream, they sell all kinds of merchandise with cow puns. I bought a crew sweater years ago and it still holds up nicely today. Would definitely recommend a visit!
I don't understand what all the hype was about, but Cows just seemed like regular ice cream to me. In South Carolina, we have plenty of places with creamier ice cream, Jenny's, Republic, Brewsters, just to name a few. But even if Cows is considered "top notch" in the Niagara area, I would definitely choose one of the many gelato places nearby, over Cows. Aside from the ice cream, Cows does have great waffles, a huge variety of other sweets, and a lot of merch.

Cows very well lives up to their claim as the "best ice cream in Canada". Vacationing at Niagara-on-the-Lake and this location was the only spot we made multiple stops at. Hilarious merch and the creamiest most delicious ice cream you could possibly have. Eat the Cookie Monster - blue ice cream loaded with cookie dough bits. I would have a spare tire around my waist if I had a Cows near me. Note - This location is open from 10-10 year round. Many of their other locations are open until 11. Lots of sad folks were arriving at 10:15PM only to leave without ice cream :( read more
This place sells all kinds of t-shirts and other collectibles with their brand on them. They have numerous flavors of ice cream, we sampled a few. The cowcoconut cream pie was a bit plain. The gooey mooey was very tasty, so was the wowie cowie. We went with a two scoop cup of gooey mooey and maple walnut. The latter didn't have any walnuts in it--not impressed. For $7 the size of the two scoops weren't that big. There's no place to sit inside to eat your ice cream. They seem more interested in selling merchandise than offering comfort. read more

I'm a summer person - I love the sun, I love to tan, and I love ice cold desserts!! And when I'm willing to eat ice cream during winter, you better believe me when I say it's darn good!!! Whenever we're in Niagara, we ALWAYS stop by here for some of their delicious ice creams it doesn't matter if we had food before or not, this place is ALWAYS on the list. It also doesn't matter how insane the lineups are, we'll be there lining up for it!!! The second you enter their store, you smell waffles - waffle cones that they make in house, oh so delicious waffle cones My favourite and must get every time is their salted caramel toffee - as you can see from my pictures. It's is absolutely TO DIE FOR. Toffee is soft and flavourful, ice cream is milky. And even though it melts relatively quickly in 30+ degrees, I don't care! read more

I love ice cream and finding local ice cream stops. This place was awesome. It is busy and in a tourist area but is fun and unique. Lots of flavors of locally made ice cream and our milkshakes were delicious. As an added bonus they have great t-shirts and other merch. read more

After a visit to Niagara Falls, my family and I decided to go visit Niagara-on-the-Lake. It was a hot day and we were trying to look for an ice cream place. I used the handy dandy Yelp app and this parlour was the most rated. We ordered the royal cownadian mint, chunky chocolate mint, maple walnut, sea salted toffee, and the wowie cowie. The ice cream was so yummy and had amazing flavour. They also make their own waffle cones! read more
I was visiting Niagara with my sister, and we had to walk into Cows on this very hot day despite the very long line. A big cow sculpture greeted us at the entrance. They also have a variety of merchandise (shirts, etc.) and other dairy products like cheese. I got a double-scoop with Moo York Cheesecake and Wowie Cowie in a waffle cone. I loved the Wowie Cowie, especially the chocolate chips that added some texture to it, but I didn't like the Moo York Cheesecake as much because the chocolate drizzle in it was overpowering so it didn't taste like cheesecake. read more

I am a big ice cream fan, but their ice cream is just mediocre to me. It's little bit too sweet and less creamy than my usual preference. This is only my person opinion. NY state has some very good ice cream and their portion is much bigger than this place. I probably won't come back read more

first time visiting this location. ordered a double scoop cone, ice cream it self was pretty good but i've had better. what was disappoint was the guy (at 1:30pm on 9/18 sat) who scooped my ice cream didn't know how to scoop the ice cream properly. when it came out, it was already dripping and the scoops weren't even a full scoop making the whole ice cream dripping and visually smaller than the others. when i pointed out to him, he said "what do you mean?" i mean if he can't even tell what's wrong with his scoops, he shouldn't be even working here. please train your staff better so they can scoop the ice cream! food: 4 stars customer service: 0 star read more

Sweet, thick smell of sugar and waffle cone when I enter Cows on an cool Autumn afternoon. Not busy at all but unfortunately not many flavours left to choose from and a lot of them are at the end of the bucket. If you love creamy and sweet ice cream, this is the place to go. Cows ice cream are made based on a PEI secret receipe and uses cream with very high butterfat content, 16% which is the standard for premium ice cream. BTW, the price does reflect that. I am not really into tacky Cow theme souvenirs... but as one know that it is located in a tourist area and someone probably buy that cow moo moo thing. read more

Yum! It was cold when I visited, about 46 Degrees Fahrenheit that day, but Cows Ice Cream was extremely enticing with all of their unique flavors, so I said... why not?! Ice cream is always a good idea. For a light afternoon snack, I decided to order a single scoop waffle cone of Messie Bessie. It's also their most popular chocolate-base ice cream. Mixed with oreo cookies, moo crunch, and english toffee, this ice cream just hit the spot for me. The waffle cone was nice and manageable, but it was a little too thick for my typical liking. Other flavors that I've sampled and liked were the Cowconut Cream Pie and the Cownadian Maple. On their website, you can see a full list of their current flavor offerings, but it's all subject to availability at their stores. The servers were really nice to me even on a slow cold day. I'm sure their service is just as great if things pick up on warmer dates. I even bought a few souvenir shirts from their retail shop. Definitely stop by Cows any day of the year regardless of weather because their flavors are too good to pass. read more
(Note: I visited in August of 2009, so I'm not sure if anything has changed since then.) As someone who is recently a bit lactose intolerant, ice cream has to be worth the (literal) bellyache if I'm going to have it. Lemme tell you: Cows was worth the very minor bellyache I had. (Clearly I'm not alone, as it was named "Canada's best ice cream" by Reader's Digest, as I was told walking into the store by a display. Walking into the store, there were all these fun cow-themed souvenirs (if you love cow puns, these are must-haves) and a big crowd of people waiting for ice cream. I usually have little tolerance for lines, but my dad convinced me since it was, after all, "Canada's best ice cream", and it had been a while since I had let myself have ice cream because of my lactose intolerance. We waited in line and were greeted by really friendly servers. I got a waffle cone with sprinkles and played if safe with my flavors. From my photo of my cone, it looks like strawberry & chocolate. DE. LI. CIOUS. The ice cream is soooo ridiculously creamy. This is how ice cream is supposed to feel in your mouth. I could taste strawberry in my pink scoops of bliss, sweet with just the slightest tang (I don't like it when my fruity flavors are too tart, and this definitely wasn't too tart at all) and my chocolate was decadently sweet without overdoing it. It's a bit pricy and the butterfat content is high (hence the richness, in addition to there not being much air in the ice cream), but I think that as a little indulgence, this really hit the spot. The cow souvenirs are really cheesy (no pun intended) but they're cute and hey, if you don't like it, don't buy it. Fantastic ice cream well worth the tiny stomachache I had later. read more
I dropped by this place over the August Civic Holiday long weekend for a Niagara-on-the-Lake day trip. This was the perfect stop for a nice ice cream break! We got the PEI blueberries and an apple crumble flavour ice cream waffle cones. The blueberries was definitely my favourite out of the two because it tasted refreshing and not overwhelming sweet. There were also blueberry bits in there. The Apple one was also very tasty HOWEVER I found the sauce (caramel?) was wayyyyy too sweet and overpowered the apple taste. I couldn't take more than 2 bites of that. The store does have a lot of interesting flavours and I would come back to check them out if I'm in the area again. read more

Great stop in Niagara-on-the-Lake. There are many options for ice cream available in a freshly made waffle cone. Ice cream had a strong milky/dairy taste - I had the "Moo York Cheesecake" which was as promised, tasted like cheesecake. read more

I love Cows! I mean the ice cream! But also the animal too. Bless cows for dairy products. I first came across Cows Ice Cream when I went to east coast and had a chance to visit their factory in PEI and while I'm a little bummed out that this is the only Cows in Ontario, but every time I go to Niagara Falls I'll now pick up their popular ice cream. Their ice cream is old fashioned. It's super creamy, rich, and smooth. There's tons of toppings and all of this makes for some great ice cream. They have a lot of traditional flavors but they use good ingredients here. We got the chunky chocolate mint - there was fudge and chunks of dark chocolate in a refreshing mint ice cream. We were given a healthy single scoop (you may even call it a double), so we were super happy. You have the options if getting the ice cream in a sugar cone at no extra cost or get a fancier cone for a minimal charge. I've seen Cows ice cream in the grocery stores out east, so please Cows, can you send Toronto some love? read more
Came here today with my friends! Its delicious, smells so good. I always see a pretty big line outside and inside, but it goes pretty fast. I scoop is 4.95 and another scoop is 1$ more. The scoops are pretty big. I had mint chocolate chip and moo york cheesecake and it was yummmmmy. I didnt finidh it all. The milkshakes are also good. Found a Cow's ice cream parlour at Niagara on the lake. The flavour names are just too darn cute. We tried the Gooey Mooey: burnt sugar ice cream, English toffee marble, caramel cups, chocolate flakes. I loved the burnt toffee ice-cream, it was delicious. It seemed every tourist on Queen Street, both old & young, had two things in common: ice cream cones & smiling faces. We wanted both & figured if we found the former, the latter would follow. Being the copy cats we are, we jumped in line at Cows. I ordered a Wowie Cowrie in a waffle cone dipped in chocolate & sprinkles. I wish I'd chosen a different vessel because the cone was ridiculously chewy & thick. The vanilla toffee swirl ice cream w/ chocolate flake was decent, but I doubt this is "Canada's best ice cream" like their sign brags because if it was, my usual bitchy smirk would've been replaced by a smile, & I don't see no smile! It doesn't have the taste of chocolate as I would imagined it. The waffle cones are terribly thick. Too thick. I had to throw my cone away it was that thick and hard. Moo York Cheesecake ($4.45 single scoop) This ice cream stop has a lot of interesting flavors, the names are all related to cows. They have quite a few options if you like toffee, but after I taste tested the Moo York I was set to get a scoop of this ice cream! Essentially it is new york cheese cake ice cream, but there are also pieces of chocolate cake crust bits. Ice cream here is a must try if you are in the area! read more
One of the best ice creams I have tried on the road. The staff is very nice too. Love their cow t shirts enough to buy one for a friend. She told me customers give suggestions on what to print. The rear of the store has other cow stuff and some sale children's t shirts. We tried 2 flavors in a cup and both were really good. It's corporate owned and I hope they continue to do well. read more

When in Canada -- cows! I had been to cows before on a trip to PEI and was overjoyed to hear that there was one near Niagara. Part of the whole experience is the T-shirts and memorabilia. You have to spend time looking at all the funny pun T-shirts and maybe buy one or two (or five like us). Don't get me wrong though, the ice cream itself is worth it. The smell when you walk in is worth it in itself. Lots of good flavors and only served in waffle cones, or just regular bowls! (in my opinion the only two options you need). Anytime there's a cows near me you can bet I'm there. read more
