    One of the BETTER Cox Stores. I tried "cutting the cord", but when granny's in town, the internet is a necessary ill; so I find myself here getting my www dot com on. Clean BRIGHT store, friendly staff make my 11 mile drive worth it. Quick prompt service. Fast processing. This IS THE WAY it's supposed to be. Sign-in at the electronic kiosk, have and seat & listen for your name. OR you can also look to the wall for the 'now serving' screens. Lots of area to sit and wait. Comforting music to soothe your ear while you wait... yessssss. This time like all the others, I've come here and had a seemingly FLAWLESS transaction & processing. Most transactions are QUICK QUICK QUICK!!!! I'm seeing people in & out in under 10 minutes.

    Great location in a prime spot in Metairie with plenty of parking. Upon entering store, you are greeted continously by numerous staff members. I was highly impressed that within moments of walking in and browsing at the various products an employee came to me to ensure I was finding everything ok and wanted to see if I had any questions or needed assistance with anything. Of course I came in the store with intents to purchase new wi-fi internet services for my home and had various questions about their services offered and the rep was very knowledgeable and was helpful in helping me make my decision. When it came to the sign up process it literally took 5 minutes or so and I was out the door with my easy install kit that included a router /modem that was simply a plug & play type of deal. So glad I went into this store instead of ordering online which would have led to me waiting days to recieve the equipment.

    If I could give them a negative score I would. I'm a realtor & my client had to move quickly & asked me to return his equipment. I understand the hours aren't regular right now due to Covid restrictions, however, this was obviously more about employees on a power trip than it was about safety. So instead of opening at 8 or 9 am, they're opening at 10 am. I understand that. I was there waiting outside about 5 minutes early along with some others and we were standing on our respective social distancing floor circles. When they did open the doors & allowed people in, I, being 4th in line, was told to wait outside. Then when someone came out & left, I put on my mask & went inside. I was then told by an employee that I had to go back outside. I said "but someone just left so I'm not adding to the number of people inside". She said it didn't matter and I needed to go back out. The store is approximately 2000 sf & social distancing circles were located all through the store, but I was told to go back outside. Of course I complied, but when they were good & ready and felt like "allowing" the next person in, I was told to enter. Then I was told to stand on a particular circle while the employee took the bag from my bare hands to his bare hands to process the return. I've been in lots of stores since Covid & not one has demonstrated such a ridiculous power trip over people when measurements were obviously in place from a corporate standpoint within the store to handle a few more than 3 people inside at one time. Give some people a little authority and the use it for the slightest reason to be downright rude when THEIR bosses already had it covered. I wasn't a fan of cox before because of prior negative experiences, and again I'm reminded of why I'm still not their customer and why as an agent, if a client asks me to suggest a cable, internet, phone company, I would NEVER SUGGEST COX. NEVER.

    Cox recently opened a Solutions Center at this Veterans location which is way more convenient to visit than the main branch on Airline Drive, at least for me. I had to return a modem and did a quick Google search of the nearest Cox location in Metairie and low and behold this brand new Solutions Center popped up! After a quick phone call to verify if I could indeed return a modem here, I arrived there from my house within 10 minutes. The first thing I noticed is that the workers were much more friendly and motivated than at their Airline location. All in all, I waited about 15 minutes before someone called me up which is to be expected and in all honesty was much quicker than the service I'm used to receiving from the main branch. I was very pleased with the customer service I received at my visit today, and no longer feel the need to dread visiting Cox should I need to in the future.

    Just bad vibes all around. Glad I canceled the internet service that was down for over a week , with no explanation!

It was the same thing every year, call them up and tell them that my bill was too high and then they would enact some discounts that would save me about $30 a month but were only good for a year. So the next year I'd have to call them up and do it all over again. Well last November when I called to complain about my bill they refused to lower the rate. I guess that now they're a part of AT&T they are unwilling to negotiate on price. So I decided to try switching to DISH. BIG MISTAKE!!!!! DISH suckers you in with their low initial rate but then once you add in extra packages to get what you want it ends up costing MUCH more. I believe their current introductory package starts off at $39. Sounds pretty good right? But wait, you want local channels? Well that's not included. You have to pay an extra $10 a month for that. Who the hell doesn't want local channels?!?! You want a DVR? That's extra also. You have 2 TV's? Yep there's an extra charge for that too. So my monthly bill ended up being $70 a month. That's quite a jump from $39 but still better than I was getting with DirecTV so I decided to go for it. The phone operator told me about the 2 year contract and I told him, "Hey wait a minute. I'm not signing up for 2 years when I haven't even tried your service out yet." I forget what he told me exactly but he definitely gave me the impression that I could cancel if I didn't like the service. When the DISH installer came out to set up my equipment I also asked him about a trial period and he told me I had 30 days to cancel. So everything was going OK until the day of the Super Bowl. We missed the end of the game so I tried to find highlights on ESPN only to find out the package I had did not include ESPN!!!! I called up DISH and was told, "If you want sports channels, that's an extra $10 a month." Gimme a break. What a scam! So now I'd have to pay $80 a month for pretty much basic cable. No pay channels like HBO. I just wanted the standard stuff like Food Network, HGTV, ESPN. So the next higher package was $84 a month and included ESPN but took away DIY and Cooking Channel!!!!! How frickin lame!!! So now I wasn't saving money over DirecTV anymore and decided to cancel the service. I had DISH send out the installer to remove their DISH and take their boxes back. To top it all off now they're trying to charge me a $500 early termination fee even though 2 people at their company told me their was a trial period!! I have filed a complaint with the Denver Better Business Buereau and I will be taking DISH to small claims court if they refuse the waive the fee. Stay far away from this company people. Their channel packages are completely predatory and set up so that the only way you can get the channels you want is to pay for the expensive plans.
